How are you? I'm good, good. So, thank you for coming. Thank you for being here today. In or it's this would only take maybe a couple of minutes. It shouldn't take too long, but we really just wanted to kind of sit and kind of review kind of how things have been going for you since we last spoke to each other. So that's kind of like the whole purpose of this little mini session here. So I know last time we had kind of gone over a couple of planned activities that you wanted to kind of work out at home and kind of do with your five-year-old, Layla. And so I would love to hear how, you know, how they went for you and just, you know, how how did that feel for you?
Awesome. So I came up with two different productivity routines. So I didn't work for the grocery services, the hyper situation for us, but also going to dinner under extra. I haven't done, have been able to practice is going to dinner at the restaurant. Book we have for the groceries tougher. So the hybrid situation was five-year-old Layla going to a grocery store. We're gonna get a lot of creating right details for the practice session. So remember we have I'm going to eat a TV to buy stuff for dinner, win some snacks. I know it's just me and her twins. So what I did is to plan and kind of prepare for it before going to the store, like a while earlier. I, I discussed with her like the rules. I also had one of I just thought I discussed what we were that we were going to store. It kind of like what I could kind of like yeah, expecting from her. And then when we got them before going to start went over the rules again. I also plan to have her help me with items, so they trying to pick and choose which ones. And again, I brought with me some snacks and some toys for her because she always has to be fidgeting or something. And then I am so excited to go after enough time so she wouldn't be like shouldn't be tired, and I'm she blanky and it would be good. Yes, the rule that I decided to have for her was to stay in a shopping cart because they do a hard time with her when she's outside using her inside voice. She tends to scream, turning her shopping and eat a lot of berries and attention. And I think you say going up and then keeping their hands and feet to ourselves, whether that's like taking stuff off the shelf or something like that. Okay, some of the interesting TVs that I kind to as well as play I Spy to help her find items. So if I were to ask if we're looking for any beans that I would say, I'm I Spy something that they look like this, and she would help me kind of speaking Spanish accent, right? I also have having her hold a shopping list, and we also talked a lot about a color shapes inside this because she loves to talk. Then what the rewards that we got with that I had for her was praised by could be board of leader and shooter and Timothy after or its stickers from the aisle. And then for consequences, we did clear common instructions to stop behavior and once again safe products, I mean your reward. So when actually put them into effect, I there there was a lot of success and a lot of not so much success.
Yeah, you want to tell me what is the wouldn't that feel like like those two things you did great? What were those things?
Okay, so two things I did great was I guess giving her unique consequences. So I was kind of fast about it. The other thing I did so great was whenever I did see a behavior I didn't like, I didn't go through with the report and I was probably mad. Yeah, I think those are two things I did good. One thing I think I need to work on more is stay calm and giving that calm and clear instruction. Well, I think overall, like all the fear stops you knocked every single one out. You did an excellent job going through, you know, from, you know, starting letting her take a nap and all of those things until, you know, bringing her to the store and talking to her about what you were doing and in the car following the rules, like all of those things are excellent. You know, you're doing an awesome job. And again, it's it's a trial and error and kind of thing, you know, you know, and there you try it out, you see what works, and then you know, come back and then you try it again, and it's just gonna be you're gonna start learning from from that particular scenario and then implementing it whenever you, you know, trying again. So yeah, you did I think overall you did an excellent job of going to those emails through those steps. And how did that feel different than other times when you come to the store?
It did feel different. I think the fact that I was a lot more immediate with the consequence was really good for her because she was like, oh, like this is coming although ever I did - her testimony's bear, but it that's horrible, but it made me feel a lot more confident to be boarded up for yeah and testing those boundaries that's what she's gonna do something mom's sure I can see while trying something different and she'll try to, you know, yeah, push it a little bit and see what she can get out, right? So that was great. I think, you know, the I think maybe one thing I could point out is be more praising her a little bit more, just, you know, being, you know, thank you so much for, you know, helping me find the beans and just, you know, while you're playing the game you were wrong of doing something, thank you so much for building their grocery list or, you know, little thing like that, you know, they make, you know, it helps her feel like, oh, I'm doing something right. So that's great there. So I feel like, you know, overall like, you know, what we've talked about really helps not only you but myself to kind of how I can better support you and, you know, doing your next attempt. And which, by the way, is this something that you're willing to try again?
Or yeah, for sure. I definitely do. You want to keep practicing this and so I kind of feel more comfortable maybe Brody then to see that it actually works perfect. So it's maybe like one goal that you would have a little bit different going into going into this one. I think maybe going in kind of focusing a lot more on the praise and because that is something I've had to struggle with and I find that this other this first time I focus on other aspects of it and so I think there was like praise the one that I kind of left out a little bit. Okay, without B definitely, you know, another thing that you can have a goal and kind of continue to work on and so then you're gonna work for next time would be just to, you know, try this again and then include but including more of that phrase. It sounds perfect. Okay, well, it would this time next week.
Feel good? Good. Leadership? Great. Thank you so much. Thank you. Okay, two things I think I did well is just checking in with mom to see how, you know, she was feeling throughout and we're kind of going with mom during her steps. The things I could have done better I think is just acknowledging her more, just giving her more of that empowerment to continue to do it over again, but yeah, hopefully over.
