I, I, I just don't know. Sure.
And we're going to talk more about the debate today, the 2024 debate against, um, Donald Trump. Um, we're going to talk about that, and we're going to talk about the preparation period, um, before that debate. But, um, when we spoke to Mr. Clay, Mr. McLain said he arrived at Camp David to prepare, um, Joe Biden for that debate, and he described him as exhausted. Is that how you remember Joe Biden being, excuse me, President Biden being during that week before the debate?
Um, my, uh, so my memory is that I thought he, um, I thought he was tired. He had been to, uh, France for, uh, the D-Day, um, celebration. He then came back, and we then went back to Italy where there was a, I can't remember, was a G20 and G7 on the G, um, um, came back actually on the way back, flew directly from, I believe, and I, I could be wrong, but I believe he flew directly from Italy. He stopped, I think, at Andrews and went continued on to Los Angeles. Then after that, I don't remember if he went back to DC or I don't remember when debate camp started. So, he had had, um, a lot of travel. Um, and of course, you know, his, um, his whole presidency had been quite consequential in terms of the number of things he was dealing with, being at home, um, or overseas.
My, um, my bigger concern at camp was that he seemed to me like he was fighting a cold, and that was, um, that was proving, I thought, to be a problem because it impacted his voice, and I'm sure it made him feel not so great. Um, so that's, that's memory of of how I thought about things when we were there.
So, and again, we'll talk more about specifics about the debate, but do you think that? Well, let me just say, I, I think that the, um, consensus after the debate was that President Biden had not performed very well during that debate. Do you agree with me?
Um, um, well, the consensus, um, um, what, what I would say, um, I think there was a consensus in the press and in, um, many folks in the political community that, uh, it had not gone well. President. Um, I believe the voters had had a different reaction, and, uh, that they had a much more measured response to what they saw. So.
