Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
Praise be to Allah, praise be to Allah, the Holy King, the Source of Peace. He has made the pilgrimage to the Sacred House obligatory upon Muslims, and has made it a pillar of the religion of Islam. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, the King, the All-Knowing. And I bear witness that our Prophet and Master Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger, the best of mankind. Upon him, his family, his companions, and his followers be the best of prayers and peace.
To proceed: O people, adhere to the taqwa (fear) of Allah, for in it lies the salvation of the servant in his hereafter. Allah the Almighty says in the beginning of Surah Al-Hajj: "O people, fear your Lord. Indeed, the earthquake of the Hour is a terrible thing. On the Day you see it, every nursing mother will forget what she nursed, and every pregnant one will miscarry her burden, and you will see people as if they are drunk, yet they will not be drunk. But the punishment of Allah is severe."
And among the taqwa of Allah is preparation for the Day of Resurrection by performing acts of obedience and abandoning sins and misdeeds. Allah the Almighty says: "That is because Allah is the Truth, and it is He who gives life to the dead, and it is He who is over all things competent. And that the Hour is coming, no doubt about it, and that Allah will resurrect those in the graves."
And the greatest preparation for the hereafter is through Tawhid (monotheism) and worshipping Allah alone, and abandoning the supplication of others. How can one supplicate to that which neither harms nor benefits him besides Allah? That is indeed a far straying. He supplicates to one whose harm is closer than his benefit. What a wretched protector and what a wretched companion! Allah the Almighty says: "And whoever associates others with Allah, it is as if he has fallen from the sky and the birds snatch him away or the wind blows him to a [distant] place."
And the slogan of the people of faith is Tawhid for Allah the Almighty. He says, Glorified be He: "So your god is one god; therefore, submit to Him. And give good tidings to those who humble themselves." Those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts tremble, and who are patient over what afflicts them, and who establish prayer, and who spend from what We have provided them.
So these are the pillars of the religion of Islam: Tawhid, and the testimony that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and establishing prayer, and giving zakat, and fasting Ramadan, and performing the pilgrimage to the Sacred House of Allah, with the recommendation of fearing Allah the Almighty. Allah the Almighty says: "And for whoever fears the standing before his Lord are two gardens." And patience in obedience to Allah and upon painful decrees. Allah the Almighty says: "Only those who are patient will be given their reward without account."
With gratitude to Allah for His blessings. Allah the Almighty says: "Thus have We made them subject to you that you may be grateful." And Allah has in creation, and Allah has in creation, universal laws that the servant must believe in and benefit from. Allah the Almighty says: "Indeed, Allah defends those who have believed. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone who is a betrayer and a disbeliever." And He says, Glorified be He: "And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted."
And among that is His saying the Almighty: "And how many a town We destroyed while it was unjust, so it is now ruined upon its [collapsed] roofs. And [how many] a well neglected and a castle lofty. Then do they not travel through the land so that they have hearts by which to reason and ears by which to hear? For indeed, it is not the eyes that are blind, but blind are the hearts that are within the breasts."
And indeed, Allah the Glorified and Exalted commanded His intimate friend Ibrahim, peace be upon him, to call to pilgrimage. He says the Almighty: "And proclaim to the people the Hajj; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, they will come from every distant pass."
"That they may witness benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allah on known days over what He has provided them of [sacrificial] animals. Yes, that they may witness benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allah." The pilgrims come from every distant pass to perform the rituals, seeking the pleasure of Allah the Almighty and His reward, glorifying the Ancient House and the Sacred Sites. Allah the Almighty says: "And the Sacred Mosque which We made for the people – equal for the resident and the visitor. And whoever intends [a sin] therein by deviating [from righteousness], We will cause him to taste of a painful punishment."
They come to these places in response to the call of Tawhid, by singling out Allah for worship and abandoning shirk (associating partners with Allah). Allah the Almighty says: "And [mention, O Muhammad], when We designated for Abraham the site of the House, [saying], 'Do not associate anything with Me and purify My House for those who circle [it] and those who stand [in prayer] and those who bow and prostrate.'"
And He purifies the House from everything that is not commensurate with its status. So there is no immorality, no disputing in Hajj, no political slogans, no partisan calls, but rather submission to Allah, and following His Messenger, peace be upon him, and showing purity in outward appearance and inward heart, fulfilling covenants and agreements, and respecting rights. Allah the Almighty says: "That [is so]. And whoever honors the sacred ordinances of Allah - it is better for him with his Lord. And lawful for you are the grazing livestock except what is recited to you, so avoid the impurity of idols and avoid false speech."
And the manifestations of acquaintance, affection, cooperation, and solidarity among the people of Islam are evident in Hajj in performing the rituals, despite their different languages, colors, and countries, as beloved brothers. So they witness benefits for themselves, and let them feed the miserable poor from their sacrifices, and let their concern be excellence in deeds and truthfulness in words. Allah the Almighty says: "And avoid false speech."
At the standing at Arafat, Allah boasts of you to His angels. And it is the great standing at which Allah revealed: "This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as your religion." So follow the guidance of the Prophet, peace be upon him, for he performed the Dhuhr and Asr prayers together and shortened, then he stood remembering Allah until sunset. Then he departed to Muzdalifah, as Allah the Almighty says: "Then proceed from where the people proceed and ask forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."
When the day of Eid dawned, he departed to Mina. Allah the Almighty says: "Then when you depart from Arafat, remember Allah at the Sacred Monument. And remember Him as He has guided you, although indeed you were before that among those who were astray."
When the day of Eid dawned, he departed to Mina. Allah the Almighty says: "Then when you have completed your rites, remember Allah as you remember your fathers or with [much] more remembrance." And on the days of Tashriq, the pilgrim throws the three jamarat, each jamarah with seven pebbles each day. And it is preferable to stay until the thirteenth day, and it is permissible to hasten on the twelfth day. Allah the Almighty says: "And remember Allah during the appointed days. And whoever hastens [on his way] in two days, there is no sin upon him, and whoever delays, there is no sin upon him, for him who fears Allah. And fear Allah and know that to Him you will be gathered."
And before the journey, there is the Farewell Tawaf. For Allah the Almighty has chosen you, and has not placed upon you in the religion any hardship. It is the religion of your father Abraham. He named you Muslims before, and in this [scripture] so that the Messenger may be a witness over you, and you [the community] may be witnesses over the people. So establish prayer and give zakat and hold fast to Allah. He is your protector; excellent is the protector and excellent is the helper.
And among holding fast to Allah is for a person to increase his supplication to his Lord, especially at the places of Hajj, for they are a place for the answer. And in the hadith: "The best supplication is the supplication of Arafat, and the best that I and the prophets before me have said is: 'La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir' (There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs sovereignty and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things competent)." (Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi). And He says the Almighty: "And your Lord says, 'Call upon Me; I will respond to you.' Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible."
And among them are those who say, "Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire." Those will have a share of what they have earned, and Allah is swift in account.
O Allah, accept from the pilgrims their supplications and their rituals, and make their affairs easy for them, and forgive their sins, and return them to their countries safe, victorious, and successful. O Allah, reform the conditions of the Muslims and unite their word upon the truth. O Allah, reform the conditions of the Muslims and unite their word upon the truth. O Allah, reform the conditions of the Muslims and unite their word upon the truth. And take charge of all their affairs, and reform their religious and worldly conditions, and take charge of all their affairs, and reform their religious and worldly conditions, O Lord of the worlds.
O Allah, grant success to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, Prince Muhammad bin Salman, and reward them with the best reward in this world and the hereafter, for they have done good to Your servants and facilitated the performance of rituals for the pilgrims, and have generously served the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors. O Allah, O Allah, support Your religion through them. O Allah, support Your religion through them. And may Allah's prayers and abundant peace be upon our master and Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions.
