Meta just officially integrated Claude into Facebook Ads, and it is genuinely one of the biggest shifts that we've seen when it comes to running ads. I run Facebook Ads for over 87, 8, and 9 figure e-commerce brands, and I've already been running the Claude integration in these accounts to actively launch, edit, and make adjustments to optimize and report on just about everything for these accounts.

So, in this video, I'm going to show you exactly how to set up the Claude and Facebook integration. I'm going to show you how it actually functions. I'll show you some real use cases for how we're actively editing, launching, and changing campaigns right now.

Okay, first things first. Go into Claude, go to the bottom left corner, and click settings, and then click connectors. Once you're here, click add custom connector. Name this Facebook Ads MCP, and then paste in https://mcp.facebook.com/ads. You then click add. From here, you'll see the official Facebook Ads logo. Then go ahead and click connect. This is going to redirect you to your native Facebook profile. From here, if you've already connected it like I have, you'll see the reconnect button. If not, you can click edit settings and then choose the current business that you're actively working on that has access. Click continue, and then click save.

You will then be redirected back to Claude where you can click configure on the MCP, and you'll see all of the permissions. By default, everything will be in "needs approval." Along the way, as you use the tool, you will allow certain things to be "always allow," and then of course, you'll have certain things be "always ask," and certain things completely blocked. It's all based on your preference. For now, just about everything for me is on "needs approval." There's a few things that I have down here like ad insights where it can't actually do anything that I'm actually allowing it to run freely.

So, from here, we're going to create a new chat and we're going to check our connector. We're going to go down here and we're going to see the Facebook Ads MCP is enabled. I'm just shutting off all my other connectors. I just want to use the minimal amount of other connectors in here and just use my Facebook Ads MCP. For this, I'm now going to type in, "Using the Facebook Ads MCP connector, what ad accounts do you have access to?" And we can see as it's actually doing its work, it's able to load up the MCP integration, the tool. Sometimes a logo shows up here as well. And I can see right off the bat here, I have hundreds of ad accounts added in between the audits we do, our school community, our Moonlighters agency offer. We work with a lot of brands, and we have 10 MCP enabled accounts.

Now, for this example, I'm going to use this account right here. I know these are blurred out just to save the client to be confidential about it. So, now that we have the account that we're going to use, I'm just going to show you some basic prompts, and then we're going to get into some more advanced stuff like detailed reporting, how to actually launch, edit, make changes. But just for all intents and purposes here, we can now interact with Facebook Ads using Claude. Let's start with a very basic prompt. "For the account, pull the total ad spend over the last 7 days. Nothing else."

Now, one thing I noticed in using the tool, keep in mind, I disconnected it and reconnected it for the sake of this video, but what I noticed was that as I continued to use it, it got better and better. It knew which tools to pull, it knew which skills to use, etc. Now, this is really cool, super simple. It can now pull my last 7 days from this account where range. I could ask anything I want. I could ask it, for example, "Over the last 365 days, in a table format, pull in groups of 7 days the total amount spent. I want it in a nice pretty table."

All right, and you can see this working in real time. It did take about a minute to actually gather all of the data, and now it's pulling this in a nice HTML table widget format. It's actually going to look really pretty, really easy for me to share this with anyone, and basically show week-by-week data on spend relative to the proportion of it. And I can ask for anything in here, right? So, it's flagging some patterns, it's calling out some stuff, but generally, I could ask for anything I want. I could ask for total spend, total revenue, ROAS. I could look for trends, we could plot charts, we could do it all. For example, if I said, "Take this data, plot it alongside number of purchases, and then put it in a nice interactive chart, or even maybe a few charts that I could play around with."

And while we're waiting for that to load, I do want to give you a very important warning. Now, a lot of people are going to get this integration and think that they should trust everything that Claude says. The reality of this is very far from the truth. Now, there's going to be some things that Claude does call out, and really any large language model would call out. Things like anomalies, things like standard deviations away from the norm. These are things that you want your large language model or your AI to call out. You want to be notified about things that are abnormal. It's amazing at finding abnormalities. What it's not so amazing at is actually understanding the holistic strategy of your business. Not only does it not have the insight to things like inventory, cost of goods, and other very important metrics, but generally speaking, it's going to make recommendations only on numbers, not thinking holistically. I think maybe in a few years at most, it's going to get there where the recommendations are going to get better and better and better. But, as of today, I could say very confidently, be super careful with the recommendations that you actually pull out of here, especially when they're broad.

Okay, I won't lie, this took quite a long time to actually run. A full year of data and everything that I'm asking for is pretty hefty. But, we have a beautiful chart, spend, purchases, CPA over time, and then spend versus purchases plotted a little bit differently. I think this is great. We also have some recommendations from Claude, or really like call outs. These were all decent call outs, but generally not things that I'm going to take at face value.

So, you can probably see when it comes to reporting, you could just about do anything you want, but there are some limitations. So, just want to break down these limitations to make sure you don't get in here, get overwhelmed, think you could do a thousand things, and are only able to do a few. Now, one of the biggest limitations is we currently can't take any creative element and actually pull it out of the Facebook Ads Manager into Claude. This means Claude can't see your copy, it can't see your videos, it can't see your images. Eventually, it may be able to. This is V1. This is as beta as it possibly gets. But for right now, we are pretty limited about this. I do expect this to be the most important turning point of using any sort of large language model, whether it's Manus, whether it's Claude, whether it's ChatGPT, it doesn't matter. This is going to be the biggest shift that I expect. Essentially, when we're able at some point to take the creative learnings and then push them into a multi-step workflow. For example, you might be able to take the top five ads in your ad account, create iterations of them directly in Claude, directly in ChatGPT, directly in any third-party platform that you use, all through a single workflow. We're not there yet. I just wanted to give you that heads-up on these limitations because it can be super frustrating to prompt, prompt, prompt, prompt, and get really nothing back. Right now, the main use case is reporting, editing, and creation.

With that said, let's move on to number two, which is editing. So, I'm going to show everybody the most simple use case that we could possibly imagine, which is just editing the name of a campaign. You can literally apply this to anything. You could change budgets, you could change any setting in the Ads Manager, you could do it all. Just going to show you the basics of editing the name of a campaign. So, I'm going to copy and paste this campaign name, and I'm just going to say, "Find the campaign, change the title to Claude." So, we're just going to add Claude to the end of the title here. And all this is going to do now is literally locate that campaign and update the name. It's probably going to ask me for permissions or approval throughout, which is totally fine. We want that to happen. Go ahead and type yes.

Okay, this is an important step here. It's going to ask if I can update the ads entity, and it's going to prompt me to say "always allow." In this case, I'm going to "allow once." If we "always allow," it's going to have free reign to just edit whatever it wants based on me just saying yes in little situations like this, which I don't like. Now, it says done. Let's go back to our Ads Manager. Let me exit out here, I'll do a quick refresh, and we'll narrow down to that campaign. And in fact, we can see in just about 3 seconds, the name Claude is now appended to the campaign. We can obviously do the same for any setting, any adjustment in the campaign that we want.

To take this a step further, something that a lot of people are naturally going to gravitate to, and this isn't a direct recommendation from me, but I think something that people are going to want to do often or something along the lines of, "Locate any ad under a 0.5x ROAS in the last 7 days that is in an active campaign. Once you find those ads, we are going to pause them down." Cool. So, in this case, it pulled a little bit of a comprehensive report here in a way on what's actually happening in these ads, and I can just go ahead and say, "Yeah, pause all 14, skip the learning phase ads, only fully failed warnings, let me pick individually." I'll just click "let me pick individually." "How should I handle ad the one that's right on the line? Keep it, that'll kill too much volume." Cool. So, you can probably see at this stage that it's going to continue to work down the route of which ads should we pause. I could eventually tell it to actually choose the individual ad IDs that I want to pause, and then it will pause them down.

The next thing we can do is actually launch campaigns. It can only launch campaigns in the paused state, which I think is a great safeguard. So, we can do the same thing. Let's just say, "Forget it. Let's instead launch a new campaign with all of these loser ads." And we'll call it zombie_claude. Okay, so I've gone back and forth with Claude here a little bit. Long story short, this is going to take a whole lot of tokens to actually run and make these complex adjustments. But what I could easily do is I could just say, "Instead, just create the shell for the campaign." This is going to be a sales objective. It's going to be a CBO, of course. We'll just set this for $100 per day, and I do like how it reminds us it's going to be created as paused. Again here, it's prompting the "always allow." We're just going to "allow once." Done. The shell is live in the paused state before I could even finish my sentence. Let's click the refresh button here and we called this zombie_claw. Cha-ching, it is set up. Generally speaking, always pop into here, make sure your settings are set up properly. There's always going to be some issues with stuff like this. It only asked me a few questions. It can't possibly know every setting that I want. Of course, you could prompt it to be more prescriptive for new launches that you do.

Okay, so we have kept this at a very high level because that's all that's available for us today. I will keep everybody updated with any adjustments, any updates that actually happen to the Claude MCP and Facebook Ads integration. So, if you want to be informed of when those updates come out, click the subscribe button. I post twice a week. I try to reply to every single comment and give as much free value as possible. On the other hand, if you want your ads managed by a team of killers who are using tools just like this every single day, who have early access to tools just like this, then click the link down in the description or go to the moonlighters.com/apply. We work with seven, eight, and nine figure e-commerce brands and help them go from where they are today to significantly more scale. That is all for today's video. As always, I hope you got a ton of value out of this. I'm really excited to see what's about to go down with Facebook Ads and Claude in the very near future.
