Good morning, Millennials! Welcome back to The Toast, and happy Monday, y'all! Get down, diggity with y'all. Did you leave us being Southern on the last episode? Was that the last episode, by the way? And you came back Southern? 'Cause I definitely did that last week. I did not do that on purpose. I just want to say, like, I'm just— No, you're just still Southern, even though it's been like five days since we saw you. Yes, we haven't seen the toaster since Wednesday. Hope everybody had an amazing time off. I did. I did. It was the hog. It was Rosh Hashanah. I can't believe that was a really long break. It was a really long break. Feeling grateful to the Lord for putting the kind of long Jewish holiday on starting on a Wednesday night, so we got two days off. Now, what the Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away, because another holiday that we have coming up, which usually is blessed enough to fall on a weekday, it falls on a Saturday this week. You guys know every year we start talking about Yom Kippur at the end of like July. We actually have not talked about Yom Kippur as much as we have in previous years. This year, um, yeah, kind of a big day, a somber day in the Jewish community. Our biggest holiday where we have to fast for 25 hours this year is on a Saturday. Just to kind of like add insult to injury, it's so wrong. However, like, you can't have Rosh Hashanah starting on a Wednesday without Yom Kippur on a Saturday because the holidays are 10 days apart. But I would rather, like, have Rosh Hashanah start on a— I guess Thursday would make Yom Kippur Sunday. Also shitty. Worse, actually worse. And Friday, Monday, I guess Tuesday, because then that Friday, that would be on. Technically, they're not going to make you come in. There's really no like good way to fast. That's the other thing. So I can't believe we haven't talked, like, usually we start dreading Yom Kippur. Maybe we're growing up. We usually start talking about like how close we're getting. Seriously, six months out, we have not even talked about it once. I feel like it makes it harder and worse when we're dreading it so much. Like, if we just keep it to the one day, like, we could take our power back. And we're not going to keep it to the one day because we have to talk about it every day this week. Okay. Um, and let's talk about it today. I am not excited. I also, like, am due for my period in the next couple of days, like, probably on the weekend. And so I'm already feeling like angry. And yeah, and I actually can't remember the last time my cycle synced up with Yom Kippur like that. To me, that's God being like, "Listen, you were extra bad this year. Like, you need to repent even harder." Yeah, that. So I'm listening and I'm learning. To God, that's beautiful. La, thank you. How was your, your hug? It was actually, it's one of my favorite holidays, Rosh Hashanah. It's our, like, the Jewish calendar is different than, like, the calendar, you know, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. And we celebrate the New Year usually around this time of year. And it's such a great holiday filled with, like, it's easy, it's food, it's light, it's family, it's fun, it's joy. It's— Craiyon. My Rosh was really great. You maybe didn't hear from me a lot because I was vlogging. So my phone was in use. I made a whole Rosh Vlog of the two nights of Rosh. It is going to be up today on patreon.com/thetoast. I really put my heart into it, so I hope that you guys like it. You'll get to learn a little bit about the customs, see what I'm cooking, see what I've got brewing.
Did you have a musical performance in there of you singing the classic tune, "Dip the apple in the honey, say the loud and clear, have a happy sweet new year"? What's funny is I actually did sing that in the video at one point, and in the final cut, I took it out because I was like, "Dope." Jackie, I mean, I could put it back in. Do you want me to put it back in? Is it too late? No, I just exported from iMovie, but that's really quick. It's not like I uploaded it to Patreon. That's the hour. Put back the people deserve the performance. I'll put it back in after The Toast. Today, we have so much to do. It's just a really long vlog, so like, I was trying to keep it— Who cares? Okay, okay. Tight. I know you know me. I'm always, I'm one of the tight. I like, I like short content. Like, I like long, really like vlogging. I feel like if I wasn't a podcaster, I would be a vlogger. I enjoy the process. You know what? I could see that life for you. Like, you'd be like a lot of people's, like, comfort YouTuber of just like, you cooking and like, you know, sharing things about, like, beauty and home and mom stuff. I could see that. Very Molly Mae of you. Yeah, I think she really made me fall in love with vlogging. Two things. Do I look any different today? You look different every day. No, come on. She's smiling. She's wearing my sweatshirt. Oh, yeah. [ __ ] So you look different 'cause you're wearing a sweatshirt that doesn't belong to you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But like, I think we've kind of like made peace with the fact that the sweat— It's actually like a core tenant of me, so I will be getting it back. But like, next time I'm at your house and I need to borrow a sweatshirt, it'll be that one. We don't have to like make it an official ceremony. Okay, so I guess you didn't notice, but like, I went to Sephora yesterday. You know what? I could— I could expand my view of you on my computer. It is a little small, so maybe I would have noticed. No, you're not going to notice. Okay, okay. Hold on now. I feel stupid, but tell me what you did. I just went to Sephora and like, got like some random new products and I was like, "Wondering if I was looking like extra gorgeous." I don't think making me bigger on your screen is going to help. Okay, so definitely you're wearing more eyeshadow and you have like a new color lipstick, more of a plum. Okay, both things I've been using for years. Okay. Um, you know, I just got like a new contour stick, new eyebrow foundation. No, I didn't get a new eyeshadow. Okay. And I went back to straight hair. I just kind of have like a busy week and I can't be bothered to do anything but like flat iron my hair to death. You know, I just want it crisp. Crispy. Wait, we can't even talk. You know today is October 7th. I meant to— I'm sorry, I meant to do this right at the top of the show, but I just got lost in— I actually can't believe that for five minutes I was distracted from it because like, it's all I've been thinking about like in the last few days. All the accounts that I follow are on Instagram are like a lot of like Jewish advocacy accounts and a lot of prominent Jews. And so everyone's posting about it and there's just like, it's been top of mind all day. It's really crazy how like one year ago today, you were in New York. Why were you in New York? 'Cause we did that episode together. Yeah, I was in Florida when it happened, but then I came to New York two days later for my book. Oh, right. Okay, so you were in New York. Yeah, it's been a whole ass year since that day. Like, I remember that day like, seriously, like it was a week ago. I can't believe it's been a whole year. I can't believe there are still over a hundred people, Americans included, being held hostage. In Gaza, I can't believe this. Like, it's— Ben was saying how like today should be a fast day. Like, in Judaism, fast this weekend. That's how you commemorate. But like, you can't. And like, he could fast, but he was like, "No, 'cause like, we're still living it. And it's not over." There are still over a hundred hostages, babies, women, elderly, innocent people, citizens from a ton of different countries being held hostage. And like, even today, the Palestinians are firing rockets into Israel from Gaza. Like, it's— it's heartbreaking. And then a lot of like, people are sharing footage from October 7th. And we've seen so much, but still, there's so much footage that the terrorists themselves captured because they were so proud. And then from people's like cell phones or CCTV. And like, every time you see it, it is just like the worst thing I've ever seen. And I know we have like a big constituency of Jewish listeners who always really appreciate when we talk about these things. But I have to say, I know we have like a, a wide audience, most of whom are not Jewish. And since October 7th, you and I have like, just started talking a lot more about the goings-on in Israel. And I just want to say, like, we really have the most wonderful listeners who have been so like eager to learn and help and just like get involved. And it really means a lot. Like, I see all these messages all the time, like from X, from Y, "I'm Christian, I'm this," and just so like eager to support and wanting to know what they can do to help. And it really means the world. And I just think we have the most wonderful listeners. And that's just been like a very small bright spot in this last year is like, really seeing how people from all different walks of life are listening. Are extremely diverse, like wanting to just learn and support. And for, I know for a lot of people, like, we are their first interaction with a Jewish person. If you live in an area where there aren't a lot of Jews, like, it sounds crazy 'cause I live in New York, but like, most people like will go throughout their days not like talking to a Jewish person. So I know we're sort of like that first line of defense for a lot of people. And I feel really proud of that. And I think that's like a, a responsibility. Like, I, I don't take lightly. And so I love that we have built this really fabulous community of people who like, I, I feel like the word ally has become like, it's like a word that lost its meaning, but like, real, like true allyship. Yeah. And also like, so many people wanting to help, praying for us. But then even just people who are passive listeners who like haven't turned off this podcast because every once in a while, like, we come on and we're heartbroken about Israel. And it's like, just continuing to listen, even if it's not something that's like of the utmost importance to you, just like knowing that it is for us. I'm sure a couple people have left, like, "Those Zionists, goodbye." Um, but everyone who's been here for the last year, like, thank you. Yeah. I know there are like, a lot of, um, pro-Hamas rallies planned in the city today. So it's literally so [ __ ] crazy to me. No, it's abhorrent. And it's not even like they're commemorating, you know, the day that Israel retaliated. Like, it's nothing else happened on October 7th other than like, pure carnage, like the slaughter of the Jewish people, of the Israeli people, like by Hamas terrorists. Like, why today? Why? Why would this be your day? Because they, they want to see dead Jews. So I was just saying that like, you know, check your local listings, be careful, 'cause the true [ __ ] crazies are out today. Like, I was seriously, I was like, "Not having a day." Like, I took a cab. I'm like, "Dude, nobody look at me. I'm not in the mood." It's just, it's so crazy what's going on in the world. And that's like the, the second layer that's like also, yeah, at times just as heartbreaking. Um, the response, the lack of care. I am seriously sending every ounce of love that I have to someone who's like, you know, to a, to someone, to anyone who is like still affected by the hostage crisis, whether it's a friend, a family member. It's devastating. And it's even more devastating when it feels like, you know, you're like begging people to care. So it's an ongoing thing. We obviously, we'll continue to talk about it and support Israel. But Jackie and I obviously wanted to take a minute to remark on the anniversary because it's been a really, honestly, horrible year. And I just, I can't believe it's been a whole year. Like, that literally flew. Yeah. Now, as always, we're just going to have to pivot. Like, I know today, like, seriously. And we will. And there actually is so much to talk about today. Um, and so I will get myself to a place of caring about these other stories. But one thing that we're going to talk about, and I think we should do it at the end, is Love Is Blind. Okay. We are. But I just— and the reason why I told everyone, like, I know everybody makes fun of me for like, sharing too much about my cycle. I have some of them, like, some really harsh truths to deliver. And I found something out this morning. I will be stopping watching the show. Okay. Okay. Sounds good to me. I think I've watched like four episodes and change. I'm almost through all of the reveals. So let's talk about like, what we've seen so far. But I, I've never hated, um, an installment of this show more. Like, the actual physical, visceral reactions I have, like, I need to sit with a bucket because I'm going to puke from some of these people. Okay. I'm okay. I'm not going to spoil it, but I just want to say like, I, and I was prepared to come on here and like, rip these people to shreds. But I was going to give like, a precursor, like, "Just know I'm not talking about Tyler and Ashley." A. I'm not talking about Tyler. And then I found something out this morning about Tyler. And I guess I am talking about Tyler. Okay. When I talk about like, how you should— I say it now? Yeah. And I got to know. And this isn't even on the show. It just came out on social media. He has three children that he's like an active father. And he like cleared them from his social media before he went on the show. And I, I'm up to episode six out of seven. And I think in the seventh episode, he does discuss it, like, as describing himself very much as a sperm donor. But now the, the mother and the mother of the mother are sharing like pictures of them like having Christmas morning together. Like, he's a very involved father. Okay. 'Cause I was about to say, like, maybe he didn't. Maybe he told Ashley, but it's just not in the season. Maybe they're not on social media because he's about to be a public figure and he doesn't want to put his kids out there. But you're saying it's nefarious. The, like, the mother of the children and the mother of— What I thought you were going to say, honestly, these days, like, I thought you were going to say, you know, he's going to one of those rallies. So I'm glad it's this. No, I'm not. Seriously, we can't even have one nice thing. We do have one nice couple. The scientists. Yeah. But to me, like, Ashley and Tyler were on their way to being like, maybe the best couple I've ever seen on this show. You put too much stock in them than I did. Jackie, I, from the first episode, I was [ __ ] obsessed with them. Like, he is so cute, she's gorgeous. They are so compatible. I thought when they got into bed and they were talking about how like, not in like a religious way, they're going to be abstinent, but like, this culture where you just sort of like, give your soul. I haven't seen this. I haven't seen this. I'm sorry, by the way. I will be watching Mexico because that is— I suffered through what I suffered through for Mexico. Like, that's the best part of any Love Is Blind season. And then from there, I'll evaluate if I'll keep watching. Okay. And you know what? I'll save my life. I'm sorry. So three kids, like, that's just not a dealbreaker considering like, what some of these other people are saying and doing. We are going to save that for the end. We know not everyone has watched it. Also, just like dropped in the middle of the night. Yeah. No promo, no hype, no nothing. No, something. No nothing. I don't feel like this season is taking off as much as other season seasons have taken off. Like, I don't see like everyone watching it. Yeah. And so I am going to be done. Like, I'm officially not watching one more minute. And I think it's okay. Like, why is this season so nauseating? And like, so many people I've spoken to have used that exact word, like, nausea. Yeah. Well, and also, do anybody feel like this season they're giving like a lot more footage of like kissing and like a lot more up close? Maybe that's the nausea. Marissa and Ramsey, they share a kiss in Mexico. That is so insane. Jackie, she literally goes like this, her mouth wide open, like she's taking a bite out of an apple. It was the crazy. Me and Ben looked like, "What?" Like, it's— it was crazy. My husband probably has like black and blues on his arm from every time I was like, hitting him across the bed like, "No, no, no." Okay, so we will do like a full recap at the end of the show, so you guys can hear that. Also, uh, in addition to watching Love Is Blind, I also saw It Ends With Us and I need to talk about it. Finally. Saw that you saw it. Jackie, it was incredible. Of course, it was. I loved it so much. And because, you know, there was all this hoopla around it, like, I actually really forgot that I loved the book. Like, I really loved it. And it was the first time I think I can say, like, I wouldn't have changed any decisions they made in regards to the book. And people were like, "But they left out the Ellen DeGeneres story." Like, the worst part. Like, who, uh, you, you know, Ellen DeGeneres is like a huge fixture in the book because like, her and the boy growing up, when he comes over to like, shower and get food, they watch Ellen every day 'cause her parents aren't home from school. And then she loves, like, she just loves Ellen. The book is her diary entries and her diary's name is Ellen. And then she ends up like naming the kid, like, Dory or something. Like, there's a lot of Ellen. It's Ellen-coded. Yeah. And so they reference once, like, they're just watching TV and Ellen's on the TV. It was a nice nod to that. But you can't, it's a long book, you can't include everything. And I think their decision to not change the ending, they didn't change anything. I really appreciate it. I thought it was super well done. And our initial concern when we first saw those photos of Blake Lively and the crazy hair, the crazy glam, the crazy outfits, like, that is very much an issue. It's just sort of this like, other main character. I still don't understand why they had her look so crazy. Um, and it was distracting. But I'm holding space for two truths. The movie was incredible. And let me tell you, I don't know if it's because I dislike Justin Baldoni or he's the most amazing actor on the planet. Like, he was an excellent villain. Okay, excellent villain. The only person who I think was miscast because they didn't really give him much of a role. And in the book, he was like, kind of like, not important, but yeah, like a necessary character. Marshall, who is Riley's brother-in-law, Riley's sister's husband. And they have it as Hasan Minhaj. And I know he's like a comedian, but Marshall is very like, goofy. I always pictured it as like, Jason Segel energy. And I don't, he just like wasn't matching the goofy vibes. He was like trying to be like funny and like, I don't know. And I know he's a comedian, but to me, he's so serious. Yeah. Like, I, I didn't think that was kind of the only sort of distracting thing when it came to casting. Ben said that he would found, uh, Blake Lively very distracting because of like, Gossip Girl. But I think that's just him being very like, small, small-minded. I think so. To Gossip Girl, really grow up. We just watched it. That's why. And like, Ben just, Ben is just, he thinks too small. You know? Yeah, yeah. It was surf lyrics. And so I know he directed it. And so I think a lot of the credit goes to him. I thought Blake was amazing. Like, I haven't actually seen a lot of her work post-Gossip Girl. Like, I don't know if I would say before this that she's an amazing actress. I thought she was excellent. And people have been like, like shocked that I liked the movie. Like, I don't know, the consensus was it's good or it's bad. The consensus was it was good. It was good. And it was, that was the consensus by mostly people who read the book. So I really believe that it was good. It wasn't like Rotten Tomatoes says it's good and it's probably bad. Like, I feel like I would like it. And I didn't realize it was direct to DVD already. Yeah. No, it's on Apple TV. I was shocked. I'm like, "Oh, we're watching it." Okay, listen to this. $25 to buy. I'm sure it'll go down, but like, right now it's still in the window of like, in, in the olden days, it would still be in theaters right now. I'm not done. That's two movie tickets. I'm not complaining about it being $25, although that is absurd. $25 rental, $20 rental, like, [ __ ] come on. Who do you think you're— So what did you do? Well, so I was sent to bed. I'm like, "Well, for value wise, let's just buy it." Because like, and then he was like, "Yeah, but we're never going to watch it again." So save the $5. And I listened to him. Yeah. By the time you want to watch it again, it'll be on a streamer. I think that was a good call. Save the $5. Okay. Okay. And I don't plan on watching it again. It's not a movie you need to see a million times. But fun fact, Taylor Don, who texted me, their apartment is in the background of the movie. I guess they filmed a lot of it in Jersey City. She did. You see? She's like, "Did you see our apartment?" I'm like, "No, why would—" And it's just like her building. Um, and then she sent me a picture. I was like, "Oh, damn, yeah, like, no, I know what you're talking about." That's funny. Yeah. So I, I actually really recommend. Ben loved it. I think Ben was, I kind of, I got a little teary-eyed at the end. I don't, Ben wouldn't admit it, but I think he did too. I mean, it's a powerful story. It is. Okay, you're convincing me. Added to the plate. Added to the plate. But now I'm on my Love Is Blind plate and I'm reading a really good book. Cora Lovering, my queen. Queeny, queeny energy. Yeah. I just need to see what else Cora had up her sleeve. Did you see my text message this morning requesting a story be chosen about Liam Payne? I did. And I replied, "LOL." Okay. And you, you chose one and I chose one. Okay, good. It'll be later in the show, probably at the rate we're going, like in an hour. Okay. But you're saying it's giving Fifth Story energy 'cause it's not fourth. Fourth? What I mean, it could be. It could actually be. Which, if you wanted to make it like the first story, I would do that because they are sort of all the same. What happened with Liam Payne over the weekend from One Direction? It's for me, it's going to become Tarx Arm TIE. I am obsessed. Tarx Arm TIE. That's some big shoes to fill. Some big mountain boots to fill. Also, I don't think it's a story, but Kamala on Call Her Daddy. Big nose. It's not a story 'cause like, it's political stuff. But yeah, I was watching it this morning actually because that is big news. Like, very hysteric. She doesn't do a lot of interviews. No. And I think a lot of people are like, shocked that she went on Call Her Daddy. I feel like you said she was going— You called this like months ago. On the OB? Yeah. And I don't know why people are like freaking out about it. Podcast. Trump has done a bunch of podcasts. Like, podcasts are the game. It's shocking because she doesn't do a lot of interviews. But if she was going to do a podcast, like, obviously one. She's also doing Howard Stern. Oh, she is? Yeah, I just saw that on his. I like, weird. Follow the Stern Show on social. Book? No, I loved his book. And like, seriously, I don't know why I— I followed the Stern Show literally on Facebook. That is. But I didn't think it was so crazy at all. Like, I thought it was like, duh. I was just waiting for the episode to drop. Like, I literally, I feel like I knew it. The episode dropped yesterday. So I wanted to check it out. There's been like, a lot of commotion about it because of like, yeah, Hurricane Helen. Which also, like, I feel like also more and more, there's footage coming out from Helen. And also like, still not over like people are still trapped. And it's just really sad. There's another hurricane coming. You know that, right? For— Milton. Hurricane Milton. Milton. I mean, that's the name. That's a bad name. Maybe you'll get the next one. Maybe you'll get to pick the next one. But, um, so yeah, there was just like, a lot of noise around the interview, which you would expect anyway. And I want to say, 'cause she did, I, I didn't watch the interview, but I want— she had like, this little intro, like, two, three minutes, just kind of explaining her decision. Um, and like, I actually felt bad for her because there's, 'cause this is how I, and by the way, I have no inside information, this is just what I think went down, okay? I think Kamala's people reached out because like, it's an obvious, it's a good strategy. And like, of course, Alex can't say no. But like, who really wants to get involved? Like, actually, it's horrible. Like, read the comments. Like, like nobody, even if you have one person on your, if you have Trump on, if you have Kamala on, like, it's just going to be horrible comments. And like, you're just, you're going to feel like half your audience is disappointed in you. The country is extremely divided. So I feel like when she got the call, she was like, "Gosh, like, honestly, like," but and she handled it really well because she said, like, "Of course," but she's not a political podcast. She doesn't like know a lot about fracking. That's what she said. Like, "What am I going to do? Like, an episode on the border?" And she also then had her people reach out to Donald Trump that he, you know, open invitation to come on. Which I thought was really smart. I think she's really just trying to like, get through this with like, the least amount of bruises as possible because like, seriously, who would want to put themselves at the center of— She's just a girl. Like, who would want to put themselves at the center of this? Well, so she did say that in the beginning until I listen to the podcast. One, 'cause it's interesting for like, podcasting and like, girly swirly podcasting. But two, like, I'm a woman. Like, I want to hear what's going on. Um, but like, what she said at the top of the show was like, how her angle was going to be like, talking about things that are important to women. So she's not going to be talking about like the or women's body. She said, not talking about the economy or the border, fracking. But like, I don't know, I felt it was a little reductive to like, assume that women don't care or are affected by the economy. Like, I feel like a lot of women, especially like moms who like are in charge of like, manage their households, are going to the grocery store, buy clothes for their kids, or, and then they're really affected by the cost of living. So I actually felt like the interview would have really benefited from like, a, a girly take on that. Like, I felt like that conversation would have been really good to have. I understand maybe not fracking, even though the female frackers, that's such a fair point. But like, honestly, like, and this is not a slight, like, I think Alex Cooper is very smart. I think she would admit this too. She did, like, seriously, what does she know about like, the global economy? Like, that's like hard to like, put together questions for. But it doesn't have to be about the global economy. And actually, in the interview, like, Kamala, Kamala kept saying about, like, practical application of policy. So we don't have to talk about like, the global economy, but like, practically speaking, like grocery store prices, like the people's like cost of living, their quality of life, like, just tackling like small issues. And that is important to women too. So of course, I felt like there could have been even more conversation had and it would have been kind of, um, new and fresh to have it in that sort of medium, in a, in a swirly environment, in a swirly sort of way. No, that's fair. I just think it's, it's actually really crazy, like, power of podcasting, women in media, the power of podcasting. And so now it's like, do you think Trump would go on? 'Cause he does a lot of podcasts. I know he kind of like, doesn't say no to much. He loves to chat. Yeah. And I think he goes to like, different corners of the internet. And by the way, I don't know if he would ever do it, but like, seriously, I would cackle. Like, I would laugh. Do you think he should? Like, if you were on his team, would you say that he should or he shouldn't? I mean, I would say yes, actually, because it feels like everybody's talking about this interview. Well, it's also just like, we're in this world. Okay, maybe like, no, but I think everyone is like, Yeah, no. Yes, but also it would feel that way even if they weren't. I think, you know, to be talked about is good. At, you know, so close to the election, who wouldn't want to be like, the name on everybody's lips? Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. I'm not on his team, and it's probably for the best for everyone. I think he should, and I'm so curious to see if he does. I know she like sent that interview, that request, invitation being like, "Please don't accept." Well, I mean, she could have not had her on. Nobody would have known. She declined the opportunity. But you don't want to decline, like, this massive opportunity. She posted like a two-part vlog of how the interview came to be. And they were supposed to record in Vegas and they set everything up. And then the next morning, like, um, the V team canceled. Do you think she was so relieved? By the way, yes. I actually, when I was watching, I was like, "She probably was so happy." Yeah. And then they called, "Come to DC." Yeah, no. I would like actually love to know what really. And I'm just like projecting, like, seriously, just guessing. Yeah, no, that's really funny. Yeah, like, it's a cool opportunity, but it's like a heavy burden. And it's going to, no matter who, if you had Kamala on, if you had Trump on, like, you know, it comes with this wave of intense reactions. And like, who the [ __ ] wants that, honestly? Like, when you're podcasting, you're just trying to like, have fun and make a living and like, make everyone giggle. Yeah. So it's really crazy. Yeah, it was crazy. So I think that's everything. We'll get to Love Is Blind at the end. Other than that, I feel comfortable getting into the fast five stories with Liam Payne being our first. No, Liam Payne is not deserving by anything. Liam Payne is not deserving of our first. But this is, um, one of those days where kind of the five are okay. Let's do it equally. Welcome. Our first story, Liam Payne. Okay, let me, let me tell you. Okay, okay. There's a number of like buckets here. So Liam Payne is like an unemployed ex-pop star. And you know what's so funny? I saw— we'll get into like, why he's a troubled youth. But somebody said, like, the reason why he's having such a hard time is because, I think no matter how you slice it, like, we could all give our different rankings of how the other members of the band dealt. But like, he's for every ranking for everyone. Like, no matter how you slice it, I would say it goes like this: Harry, Niall, Zayn, Louis. What's his name? Liam. That's what I would say. And I think that is the correct one. Yeah. But, but it's open to interpretation. I don't know. There's the elder abuse. Yeah, but no, Zayn married up. Sorry, in terms of celebrity and fame and relevancy, like, he's there. Yeah, they're not married, but yeah, they're not together. Like, he stated the tabloids, even though he like wasn't making music, that in terms of like, success, celebrity, C, whatever. So over the weekend, and I guess Liam Payne has like a big Snapchat, that's like what he does for a living. He's probably snapping with Dana. And he has like a cute little like influencer girlfriend, Maya Henry. No, no, no, not Maya Henry. Maya Henry is his ex-girlfriend who is now like spilling the tea because everyone this weekend was talking about Liam Payne. So he went to a Niall Horan concert, which a normal person would say, "That's so sweet, you know, helping, you know, supporting your friend." No, the concert was in Argentina, and like, him and his girlfriend just like packed up and went and like, didn't like tell Niall. Like, they just sort of— How do you know they didn't tell Niall? Because they have like a strained relationship. And he, they like, because that's what the internet's saying, like, that he just sort of showed up and was like, "I'm coming." And it's kind of a long way to go. They took a nine-hour flight to like, go support a friend. Bizarre behavior. But what happened at the concert was so crazy. And like, there is this like running theory that Liam just like has this like, he almost treats Niall like like a hostage. Like, when they take pictures together, you like, Niall looks like afraid. He's just like, kind of Liam's kind of like erratic and crazy and Niall's just like trying to keep the peace. Okay, so all these videos started to come out of Liam at the concert. He was in a suite. Yeah, he was in a suite like being freaky. Like he was just being weird. Being. And the overall, like caption that was like accompanying these videos is like, "Liam Payne is never beating the attention seeker allegations." Like, he goes to Niall's concert and this is like, this huge moment for Niall. It's like, you know, this foreign country, he's playing this huge arena. And before the concert starts, like Liam goes out into Niall's balcony of his suite and like, literally is holding meet and greet and like, everyone's filming him. And he's like being so cringe, like, like making faces, hands in his pockets, like dancing to the music and like dancing for people's cameras. And then being like, "Oh my God." Keeps coming back to the railing to like, see people like trying to make this like moment for Niall about him. In addition to being like, cringe as [ __ ] hell. So these videos really took the internet by storm. It's like a video of security like literally asking him to stop. And like Liam just straight up ignoring the security guard, being really, really cringey. And so that sort of set off this just like chain reaction because people were talking a lot about Liam Payne. And then his ex-girlfriend Maya Henry decided to like make a bunch of TikToks. Yeah, spilling, you know, random tea. And I guess there has long been a story within the One Direction community about this backstage brawl where somebody put their hands on Liam and like shoved him up against a wall. Yeah. And Maya Henry shared. No, wait, sorry. Who did they put up against the wall? They beat up. They put— No, Liam. And people thought like, they never said who it was. But people thought it was Louis. I don't know why they would think that. Like Maya Henry, the ex-girlfriend, coming out, knowing what the people want to say and be like, "No, it was Zayn." Like, duh. The, I mean, the pipeline from like, beating up your bandmate to beating up your mother-in-law, it's a short trip. I, I just want to say, I think like physically, Louis is the smallest of all of them. Like, why would people think it was him? No, I guess like, if you truly did, like, multiple, like, you could have alluded like to it being Zayn, like, just by by default. Like, it wasn't Louis. I think at that point, like, Harry was very much not like, like Zayn was the one who had like an issue with the band. Like, he left. So that sent like the One Directioners into an absolute tailspin. Just this huge bombshell moment. 'Cause, you know, I feel like we are always like talking about random things in pop culture. And like, imagine if 10 years later, like, you get a confirmation from a close source like about what actually happened. Yeah. So the One Directioners are like, we've just now checked in with them for the first time in a while. I'm like, they're seriously not okay. Yeah. Baby, look what you've done to me. The videos of Liam Payne like acting like that. And so unfortunately, Liam Payne has like a long history of like cringe moments on the internet. Like, people don't let him live. So I don't know if you guys remember, he had a very short-lived solo career. And he actually had one song that like got a billion streams, like with Three Ora. It goes like this. Hold on. [ __ ] wait. I just had it in my head. It's like such an nondescript type of song. Oh, DP that down for me, baby, in the club and I sh— that down for me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, so he performed it once at like a meet and greet. It looked like it was like in a mall.
He did this like, "Incred-" Excuse me, sorry. I was on Spotify looking at Liam Payne's catalog. So, he performed it in like, the middle of a mall with like, three people watching and like, did this like, really terrible choreography. And like, the videos from it, like, like, you know, they taunt him. It's like Whitney's "RSV" video, like, they never stopped talking about it. And now there's just been like, added a whole new bunch of content to like, the folder of things Payne is known for because he hasn't really done much after One Direction. Yeah, I don't know. It's giving "mountain out of a molehill."
Oh, wait. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I, I forgot the biggest part. So then this picture of Liam and Niall comes out. I guess like, Liam, you know, went backstage, busted his way backstage. And it's like, you have, if a picture says a thousand words, look at him holding the necklace. Liam is holding Niall's necklace like a collar. So it doesn't help. Finger in the chain. Here, I'll show you. I'm wearing a necklace, Jackie. It doesn't help the narrative that like, Niall is afraid of Liam and just like, just, um, tolerates him to keep the peace, perhaps. But he could have not let him backstage. But that's not how that doesn't keep the peace. This person traveled nine hours for you, you know?
Yeah, I think Liam, it sounds like he has a history of being an oddball. Yes. That's a really good way of putting it. So if he was just an oddball for the first time on the balcony, I'd be like, "Oh, something weird is going on." But it sounds like Liam's going to Lee. No. And Liam, like, I think loved being in One Direction. And I think when the band split apart, like, I think everybody experienced it differently, right? Like, I think Harry was like, "Free me from these shackles of these losers, let me go." Zayn was like, "I don't give a [ __ ] I hate these people." Lou was dealing with a lot of personal tragedy. Like, I don't even think he had time to deal with like the band. He lost like, two family members. Like, there was a lot going on. And I think Niall was really bummed but made the most of it, you know? And just was like, "Alright, I'll do my own. Let's see how it goes." I think Liam, it was like, I think if they were all in therapy, like, we would see this as being like, "What broke Liam?" You know? Yeah. And I think seeing all the other bandmates really have a lot of success, I think it's hard. And so they, the allegations of him being like an attention seeker because he loved, he was at one point in the biggest band in the world. Like, that's hard.
Yeah, the allegations of him being an attention seeker, I would say like, really, most people who are getting up on stage and singing for a living like are seeking attention and not in a negative way, you know? I should have expected that you would take Liam's side. Like, when I asked you to do this story, like, her and her [ __ ] hot takes. I'm not taking once. Agree. I'm just like, I'm not feeling like as shocked and moved by the behavior. Like, took a nine-hour flight to support his, what, who? Someone he thinks is his friend. Like, I would do it for you. Tury. I would do it in a heartbeat. You and I are not Liam and Niall. Like, we never have been and we never will be. Oh my god, of course. She's like, "Team Liam." I can't with you. Like, you're so toxic. I'm not Team Liam. Like, it does, he's not someone I, I think I would want to like, be around. There definitely him. And I'm seeing like, these clips of him and his GF. Okay, wait. And you know, there's another like, viral moment that goes in the folder of Liam Payne when he went on Jake Paul's podcast. That's where he told the story about up against the wall, someone shoving him up against the wall. And he said it in such a cringe way. He was like, "This person put me up against the wall and I said, 'If you don't get your hands on me, not going to have hands left.'" They're just hands. It was giving "Loch Ness Monster." Yeah. Um, so it's like, every time this man steps out, it's cringe. Minge. And there's just so much content around this particular trip to Argentina because his girlfriend's like a bit of an influencer. She's like vlogging the trip. I see. He's a travel influencer too. So maybe like, Argentina was next on her list. No, seriously. Maybe like, she had free flights. Yeah, maybe she got the tickets. Because I would love to know how Liam Payne pays his bills. Cuz I saw the inside of his house. I assumed it was his house. She was like, "Get ready with us to go to the airport." And they had like a nice car service. They flew first class. And I'm sure you made a lot of money in One Direction, but that divided by five, and it was a long time ago. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm sure they still get like royalty checks because like, those songs get tons of streams. Like, people definitely. I still listen to random One Direction all the time. Yeah, but like, streaming is not going to make you. No, no. I'm saying that's like supplemental income. That's not going to like, put your kids through school. But it's something. Like, I don't know. I don't know either. Su. I feel that way about a lot of celebrities though. I'm like, "How are you like, I understand you work at some, but like, multi-million dollar house, like living the high life, I don't get it." You know what I think would be the most fascinating? If we could get, and we couldn't because like of attorney-client privilege, but like, I think if somebody, I would like it to be us, could get like the top celebrity business manager on our podcast. I have so many questions about how celebrities make money. I'm not asking about Beyonce and Jay-Z. Like, no. I'm asking about, like, ready. I'm asking Vanessa and Hudgens. Like, no. But Claudia, she, she's actually always an influencer. She's actually always working. I'm asking about Liam Payne. Liam Payne is a good example. But like, next time we're talking about someone who I'm asking about, I will flag it. And we should make, especially people of like, former glory, like who were from big movie franchises or like that. I think sometimes you make retirement types of money. And like, that's not surprising to me. But there are then like, people who were a part of a big franchise, like they still like are famous, but they don't work. Here's one. Ashley Benson. Now she's married to like, a gajillionaire, an oil heir. That's an amazing one. You know, but before that, like, how? But you know what? For the girls, it's actually, it's less confusing because I know a lot of those girls make money on social media. Like, they do brand deals. Ashley Benson is like a founder in that sunglass company. Pre-Revo. Like, she does like, girly, swirly type of internet, um, e-commerce. But yes. No, I know what you mean. Okay. Thank you.
Are you ready for our next story? Which has the internet and the chokehold? Not me specifically, but I wanted to give this to you guys. Yeah. And I wonder if you care. Eminem's daughter, Haley, reveals that she is pregnant and that Eminem is going to be a grandpa. And the way I couldn't avoid this story like all [ __ ] weekend. This means nothing to me. Um, but I think if you're like a fan of Eminem and you have been for a while, like him and his daughter's relationship is like a huge part of why you love him. And I know he's like a very involved, good dad. And it's like, you, they've watched this girl grow up. So happy for you. I could not care less. Agreed. I mean, I, I don't care. Like, anyone having a baby, that's beautiful, beautiful. To make it pertinent to our situation, like, she did discuss it on her podcast. Um, oh, she's always doing big. And you know what? I, you know what I like about Eminem? He always supports his daughter's podcast. I love that. Her podcast is actually really aptly titled "Just a Little Shady," cute. Cuz she's like, "Little Shady," and they'll probably throw shade on the show. Um, and her and her co-hosts are talking about the pregnancy on the podcast. Mazel. Grandpa. M. Find one of your hairs in the coffee. Make sure it's yours. Adds a little extra. I made this coffee at home. Oh, okay. It looks store-bought. Well, the cup is from a store, but the. No, it's cool. It's cool. You look like you're just like jangling your iced coffee like in your car keys. Um, okay. I'm so, I am so glad you brought that up. Nothing makes me feel more like a woman, like more in touch with my feminine self, more cutesy little ladybug than having like a half-drink iced coffee in one of these plastic, like, Earth-ruining cups with like ice, but like the ice has melted a little bit. And I'm just so. It shows people like, you've had a morning, right? Oh, don't start with me. And doing this like with the, with the straw between your index and your middle finger, and the rest of your finger like, jingle, jingle, clawing on the top. No, no. The, the shake. And that doesn't look right. No, no. This. But the, what you're doing. This looks unnatural. Like, nothing. Just nothing makes me feel more like a woman than this. Her womanly ways. Baby, look what you've done to me. Oh, Mazel to the M. family. Okay. M. I was like, who's that? Yeah. This is a pop culture blind spot for me. And like, B, does your husband love Eminem? No, not in a way that's like permeated like Justin Timberlake or Drake. My husband absolutely loves Eminem. Like, Eminem, I don't know if he knows about his like, chubby Jewish boy constituency because like, Ben and all of his friends growing up, like, they literally thought they were going to become Eminem. That's really cute. I'm happy for Ben. And I remember the first time like Ben, like, I, I didn't share it with Ben. It just like came up in conversation. Like, I didn't know that song. I know it now because Ben taught me. Like, I guess everyone in the world knows. Palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy. There's vomit on a sweater already. Mom's spaghetti. Yeah. Do you know I have a jar of Mom's Spaghetti in my cupboard? Yeah. You know, when I was on tour back in the day, I think I was in Detroit. I forget what his like city is. And they have like a chain of like spaghetti shops. I think once in New York, there was a popup and they were having Mom's Spaghetti and Zach got it. And I still have it. Okay. So I want to say for people who are like, seeing Eminem's daughter being pregnant and being like, "Wow, I feel old now." You know how we felt when Madison De La Garza was pregnant? Wanda from Desperate Housewives. Demetrius' stepsister. And Sophia Grace. Yes. But for me, like, Madison De La Garza was so personal to me. Yeah. It's pretty much the same thing. Yeah. Pretty much. So Mazel to the Matters family. Grandpa. He's going to be Grand Pappy Eminem. I wonder what they'll call him. Ginem. What's his, his real name is Marshall. Marshall. I mean, that's such a grandpa name. Grandpa Marshall. That's funny. When I think about Marshall, like, I exclusively think about Brian Kelly's dog. Now I only think about what you said earlier about "It Ends With Us." It's like a big show. Like, we've never said the name Marshall on the show as many times as today. Big day for Marshalls. Yeah. Okay. Well, so Brian's dog's name is Marshall. And Brian, you know, like, he does like kind of what you do. He laughs a lot. And so like, Marshall became, Marshall became like, Marshall Anthony. And like, now he calls Marshall, Marshan. Whenever I meet someone named Marshall, like, I can't not say, "Marshan." Yeah. And so Ben and Josh for like the last two years, their producer on "Good Guys" was this great guy. He doesn't work at De media anymore, but his name was Marshall. I met him like a bunch of times. And they loved him. And like, they were like, always like, you know, girly girl chitchatting with him. And I would like, "Why can't you be like, 'Marshan'?" So inappropriate. So rude. I couldn't stop. "Marshan." That's like Brewery Louie. Like, I was having a hard time talking about Louie from One Direction. Well, I actually, I did mean to ask you this. Whenever you talk to my father-in-law, like, do you have a hard time? Because his name, his actual government name is Bruce. Yeah. No, to me, like, he's Bruce on the loose. Well, I call him Bruiser. And I think he loves having a nickname, by the way. So feel free to call him Bruce on the loose. Yeah. I don't think he likes when my Bruno nicknames go in the Bruce direction. Like, he wants me to bring it back. So I definitely tried to respect. I mean, it makes sense. Who wants their, to have the same name as a dog close to them? I can tell you for sure that like, when you were in your era of calling your dog Bruno by the name Bruce, my father-in-law with the name Bru, like, he did love it. No, no, no. And he, we weren't chatting as much as we normally do, which is all the time. Bruno came between you guys. Brunello Cucinelli. He could never. He's so cute. He's so cute. My king. He makes a cameo in the blog. Which by the time this episode is up and when you're done with this episode, head over to the Patreon. I did officially book my flight to your house for the ARS tour. Which is so exciting. Move to Florida. By the car. The car. You. You want. I think so. You want to know something crazy that I haven't even touched on? I guess it's a little ways away, but my lease is almost up on my Tesla. Not almost. Oh my god. I'm like, your lease [ __ ] you bought a house. I was like, what? My lease is up on my car in like February. Are you done with the Tesla lifestyle? Or no? No, all contrary. I love my car so much. I actually wish I bought it two years ago. But because I didn't, like, I have the option of what I want to do for my next car. And so either I'm going to get the same car again, or I'm getting a Cybertruck. Like, do you guys know how hard it is to have like a crazy [ __ ] sister? Why is that so crazy? When you're here, let's go test drive one. Okay, I'll tell you why. Because I see Cybertrucks all the time. I saw them in the Hamptons. I saw them a ton in the city. I see. I see them a ton. And they are exclusively used as billboards. People know there's an Alb Vodka one that drives all around the city. People know how crazy looking they are and that they're going to get eyes. It's kind of brilliant. People are going to stare at the car. You might as well slap your logo on it. You, you have to put the toast logo on it. I love it. I don't love the idea of me driving. Like, everyone looking at me. I already feel like they're looking at me because like, I'm doing something wrong. Not only will everybody look at you, they will seriously. Like, they will drive you off the road. Honestly, that like, really is the one thing. You could say I have like, serious imposter syndrome when I'm on the road. I'm like, "I shouldn't be here. Nobody wants me here. Like, everybody's laughing at me. All the cars behind me have their windows down and they're talking about like how I'm zigzagging." Like, if I were in a Cybertruck, that would just be more eyes on me. And so you've actually steered me away. So I'm actually me going to look into the Model X, which is just a bigger version of my car, but it has those Batmobile doors. Which I'm not like dying for. No. Okay. So you have to be really careful, obviously. Like, in this climate. Taylor Traver-Wells told me the craziest story. She borrowed a friend's car who's like a huge Trump supporter. And so the back of the car had like a million stickers. Like, Taylor didn't think anything of it. Like, who cares? It's not her car. And like, whatever. She needs to get from point A to point B. She said, because she was driving in like the Hamptons, you know, she was getting driven off the road. Like, seriously, people honking, trying to literally drive her off the road. And it's the. You have to hear her say it. Like, when she says it, it's a much funnier story. That would happen to you in a Cybertruck, just letting you know. It only, only an actual douchebag gets the Cybertruck. Sorry. Maybe I'm a douchebag. I'm going to test drive one because I, I do want to see like, I want to see what it's about. And I'll make my own decision. But that's a major con in the column that people would be looking at me. No, don't look at me. It's so true. She's literally. You need a bumper sticker that's these two fingers. Like, seriously, do not look at me. I really need Elon. Like, what he did for the Cybertruck, he was reinventing the pickup truck. And that was his mission. Like, make it. He needs to do the convertible next. He needs to do the minivan. The minivan is a lost art. I actually just read an article about how like minivan sales are going down. They've obviously become so stigmatized, but like, they were invented for a reason. It's the most functional vehicle. Like, you can't imagine for kids, for families, affordable. Like, Elon needs to. I know he's like, really busy and he's got a lot on his plate, but he needs to. And as a family man, and he wants to encourage people to like have big families, then you need to reinvent the minivan. Sorry. Okay. You know who has already reinvented the minivan? Ben. It's so funny. Ben told me the story yesterday. And whenever Ben like says something, I'm like, I, I know. Like, he's always sharing like, like stories that actually are from two weeks ago, but he shared something with me that I did not know. Do you know who's reinventing the minivan? Who? Mark Zuckerberg. Okay. You have to look up. Ready? He only, he had one special custom made for his wife. Okay, wait. I think. I literally think I scrolled past this this morning. He had a special custom, like $400,000 Porsche. They kind of wanted to like, have it not look like a minivan while also being literally. I saw this picture this morning. I didn't read the caption, but new side quest. Priscilla wanted a minivan. So I've been designing something. I'm pretty sure should exist. A Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT minivan. It looks like a hearse. Like, it looks like there's a coffin in the back. It's too big. I'm sorry. It's not even too big. It's too long. Like, seriously, good luck making a turn. It's like a truck. Oh my god. And West Coast Customs did it. Throwback. Oh my god. "Pimp My Ride." So that's what you need. Even though I think that's uglier and more stigmatized than a regular mini, genuinely. It looks like they took the front of one car and the back of another car and put them together. It looks like. It looks like when you put a leaf on your dining table to like extend it. That's a perfect call. I think what Olivia has, I think what Olivia has is like the closest to a modern minivan, right? But it's very high up. Like, it's not as meant for like car seats and getting like in and out. Anyways, I just thought we could start having the conversations. I love that. But I, I love Tesla. I've had a fabulous experience. I've had such a good experience. I want more. I want a bigger one. A better one. And the bigger, better one like is the Cybertruck. I'm not getting in that. Like, seriously. But would you go test drive one with me? Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I think that you will go for the test drive and you will not enjoy the attention that comes along with it. You know who should get one? Liam Payne. Liam Payne. Then great decision made. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, I'll go with you. Okay, cool. We'll vlog it so you guys can come with us. Cool. So it's settled. So it's settled.
Are you ready for our next story? It is a two, number three, and it's two I've shoved into this one. Okay. Um, it's some reality TV development news. And the first one is that Bravo is developing a reality show about the Kansas City Chiefs WAGs. Still determining final cast members. A source has told Page Six that Britney and Taylor will not be a part of it. Shockingly. Am I the only one who thought Britney not being a part of it was like, a little shocking? Everybody was like, "Duh, obviously." Taylor being like, "I would never." And Britney being like, "Yeah, I would never." Yeah, me neither. Patrick, burn the contract. The contract. Get me out of this. I think if Taylor were in a Kansas City Chief WAG, like, on this journey with them, then Britney might have considered it and could have had a whole career doing that. But now her career is like, being like an A-list WAG with Taylor. So she's set. No. And to be honest, like, I think through Taylor, we have learned about like, the other fabulous women who are WAGs. And like, I think it's actually really smart of Bravo to come in. Like, this is a town, a team, a state, like, people are obsessed with right now. And there's a lot more there beyond Taylor and beyond Britney. So I think this group of women is probably going to be fabulous. Yeah. This is. They said, yeah. Sorry. A source exclusively told People that Bravo is currently filming a reality show about the WAGs supporting the back-to-back Super Bowl winners. While the show is only in development and the cast list has yet to be officially determined, it will potentially include Michael Hardman Jr.'s fiance, Shariah Gordon, that's who's always a Taylor, and Shanae Weathersby, who shares two kids with defensive tackle Chris Jones. There's still lots to figure out, including who would be a part of the final cast and whether there's enough there to build a full series around it. It's very much a work in progress. So I think there is enough there, especially because I, I think a lot of the players there because like we've said many times, like, they're building this dynasty, right? They have been on the team for a long time. So the WAGs like become, like, you really know everyone. There's like, there's always like drama. It actually sounds like a really good, kind of what WAGs should have been. WAGs was like, not good. WAGs was good. Don't sleep on WAGs. However, I like focusing on a team here. Yeah, I think you could really do it with any franchise. I think the WAG dynamic and community is probably really strong with any sport. The Niners, any city, like any team. So the Niners, of course. Um, but also maybe this could be like, "Naked and Afraid" where they follow a few people. Like, maybe that one season they follow Kansas City WAGs, the next season they follow a different city's WAGs. Ja. I heard it was Bravo. Is that not right? No, it is Bravo. But maybe like, Bravo would change up their formula. Yeah. No, and I think you're right. Like, looking at it as how like "Real Housewives" has franchised. And honestly, like, I do feel like "Real Housewives" is at this inflection point. And they have been for a while. Like, where, what's the future of it? So having these other installations, kind of like "Southern Charm." It didn't really work out like with the "Southern Charm Savannah" or whatever. But yeah, like different cities. Yeah. Also, I had a thought recently, which is like, we always are talking about like, "How does 'Real Housewives' get out of this place that they're in?" Can it even be done anymore? And the answer is like, yes. And what they did with "Sex Lives of Mormon Wives" should have been "Real Housewives." Yeah. By the way, I'm so glad you just brought that up because I didn't even know the "Real Housewives of New York" second season with this new. It premiered last week. Do you know how many people watched? Who? How? Like, actually less people that like watch my Instagram stories. It was really crazy. Wow. At 300,000. That's insane for a cable network. That's insane. And I know we're not in the heyday of Housewives anywhere, like at its peak, like the "Beverly Hills," the "Atlanta" franchises, they were getting like 2 million. No, no, no. That's really bad. But like, how is this better than like, Sonja and Ramona and Dorinda being blackout? More people were watching that. Yeah. No, I don't know. And I'm just saying that, who, "Sex Lives of [ __ ] Wives" like goes to show you can get a group of women who are wives and mothers and make bussing content. And you can capture the zeitgeist of TikTok and like social media while also being in the reality TV format. And like, Bravo is not doing that. But it can be done. Yeah. And I, Bravo is not doing that. But I think what H. You're right. Hulu. It is like a really a case study for like, how to make reality TV these days and like, incorporate social media. It was. I have no notes on "By the way." They renewed for a second season. Whitney has confirmed she's coming back. I know. But now I'm worried. Like, have they not been filming this whole time? I don't think so. But by the way, are you randomly following this Kaitlyn Bristowe saga? No. So Kaitlyn Bristowe was getting like her ass handed to her because she had Whitney on her podcast. And like, seriously, she said at the beginning, like, "I've never seen the show. I knew nothing." Like, she found out in real time. Like, "Oh, are you friends with the girls?" Like, she was just asking like, normal questions. Like, "Are you friends with the girls?" And then she found out like, actively on the podcast that like, Whitney is the girl from the "RSV" video. And Kaitlyn's like, "Yeah, I know what video you're talking about. That was you." Like, like, I actually felt bad for Whitney. Um, and she's, she's getting like her ass handed to her for like, not doing the bare minimum, studying up. Or like, either if you're having her on, like, watch the show. And if you don't watch the show, don't have her on. Yeah. It's not like there's a dearth of places for Whitney to go and talk about. Like, yeah, not everyone needs to watch everything. And like, that's fine. If she didn't want to watch it. But now people are saying this has been like a strategy with Whitney to go on podcasts of people who don't watch the show because she also went on the "Vultures" podcast, who like aren't heavily involved in the show. Like, to, it's like an easier setup. Yeah. That's. Which, which if true, it's like, kind of smart, I guess. But she's confirmed coming back. Which. And Jen Affleck is not, because she lives in New York now because of her husband's residency. I'm walking to work with my eyes peeled for Jen Affleck. Oh, and she made your choice. We haven't done a "Sex Lives of [ __ ] Wives" "Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" update in a while. But Ancestry.com or one of those confirmed Ben Affleck is not related to Jen Affleck. That doesn't work for me. So I'm going to go back to what I thought before. And somebody did the, the due diligence. Jen Affleck is actually closely, more closely related to La La Kent than she is to Ben Affleck. From Utah. That makes sense. That's not like, that's not a mic drop. No, it's just like, it wasn't a mic drop. I was just like, sharing. No, no. I'm not insulting you. I'm saying like, the person who thought that they like made some discovery. Like, the. I thought it was a good discovery.
Are you ready for our next part B of reality TV development news segment, which is that Mark Estes and the Montana Boys are going to be looking for love in a new show after his split with Kristen. That's a little misleading. They're getting a reality show amongst other things that they're doing. In the show, I guess some of them are looking for love. It's not like he's going on "The Bachelorette" or something. Um, oh, wait. I just want to say, when you first said it, I thought the idea of them having like a group dating show was really smart. I don't think they're interesting enough for a reality show. So the unnamed show will follow the trio as they balance their career in Nashville and working at their ranches in Montana, along with partying and looking for love. That's the "looking for love" part. The broadcast company shared. Vice Studios Group is the one that's, um, helming the show. I think this is another one that could be really good, like "Mormon Wives," like taking a group from the internet who probably have the potential to carry a show. Maybe not, you say no, but like, I think this is a good idea. I think that reality TV is best by women. I don't know. Like, seriously, with the exception of like "Jersey Shore" because I, I thought immediately of like, that dating show that Pauly and Vinny had where they were both like dating the same group of women. And it is widely regarded, like nobody watched it at the time, but it's widely regarded as like one of the best shows that's like "Catching Kelsey." But there was just one guy. "Catching Kelsey." Like, they were both dating different women. Yeah. I think that that's what I thought the original show was. I think that might be better only because like, you need a lot of personality. And even if they're like beaming with personality, men are just more boring. Like, seriously, who wants to watch a bunch of the three guys sit around and talk? Like, me. We shall see. Yeah. What, what do you think it's going to be called? "Montana Boys in the Hood"? "Montana Boys"? "Montana Boys to Men"? "Montana Boys Making Noise"? I like that. "We Them Boys." "We Them Montana Boys." I like that. "Memoirs of a Montana Boy." "The Montana Boys Are Back." "The Boys Are Back." I feel like also it could be, you know how like "The OC" spawned "Laguna Beach"? This, it could be like "Yellowstone" spawning "Fellow Stone." How about you? You absolutely need to get a grab. How about "Fellow Stone"? Chills. Thank you. I'm telling you, there's potential. There's. If you thought Kevin Costner wanted nothing to do with "Yellowstone," now wait till he finds out that they're doing a spin-off reality show with the TikTok Montana Boys called "Fellow Stone." He'll be running for the hills. There's pretension, all I'm saying. There's pretension. And on the one hand, I feel like he wasn't signing his contract because he was dating Kristen. And like, she would never. But lest we not forget, she's the queen of reality TV. Oh, yeah. And I think she also respects the hustle. Maybe this was part of the breakup. Like, they got this opportunity and they have to go on like dates and stuff. But also, maybe she doesn't want to be on his show. Like, I think she might be done with that. For maybe she doesn't want him to pass up this opportunity when she knows this, this relationship has an expiration date. Yeah. And she knows that "Fellow Stone" could be the next "Laguna Beach." She knows the potential in an opportunity like this. Like, very Cavallari. Like, she knows what it can do for someone. You know what's a fact that I forget all the time? But then when I'm Shannon, I, I actually thought about that the other day. I don't know what made me think about it. And I just like, I always forget that Shannon was originally on "Very Cavallari" and that she's like intrinsically linked to Kristen. Yeah. I seriously forget all the time. Yeah. Yeah. It's just funny. But like, can we get Shannon Ford back on reality TV? Like, I don't think she was given a fair shot. Like, I know I didn't watch that show, but I know she was very much like the villain. And she got fired from the, whatever. And it's crazy that she's like the nicest person in real life. But I think we were robbed in the sense of like, I think she's an amazing reality star. I would love to have like her back on my TV. I would love maybe on "Fellow Stone." By the way, I'm surprised she never did like any of those. Like, there are so many reality shows for former reality shows. Oh, "Fall Right." She falls in that bucket. But she's so like evolved past being a reality star. People, I just think of her as like a content creator, a podcast. I know. And I watched "Very Cavallari" when it was on. And like, I forget that she, like, I was watching her. We should ask her. Maybe we'll send a text after. I know she's on honeymoon. Spoke to her this morning. Let's see if she ever would do "Traitors." Yeah.
Are you ready for our next story? Our fourth story is it? Our next story that is brought to you by GNC. It is so GNC is the destination for healthy weight loss products. Um, their Total Lean snacks, their meal replacements that help with maintaining weight loss achieved prior to discontinuing a GLP-1 medication. So GLP-1 medications are a huge part of my life. I had like, literally the most amazing experience on it. Can't recommend enough. You guys have any questions, like, feel free to reach out. Um, and while I was on the medications and then after, which has been like a huge journey in maintaining my weight and staying healthy, I have shopped at GNC for so many things. I think that a huge part for me, probably one of the number one questions I get, like, "Aren't you worried that after you go off, you're going to gain all the weight back?" Like, obviously, yes. But I really tried to use that time while I was on the drugs to like, really change my life and make good decisions and like, have healthy snacks around. And I have found that like being prepared, um, and like well-stocked in my house with like good, um, protein-filled snacks, snacks that will keep you full, is so important. Because if you just have crap in your house, like, you're not going to make good decisions. Like, you're just going to eat the crap. So I shop at GNC a lot. Their protein bars are amazing. Um, so they have a line, it's called Total Lean. And they have Total Lean Lean Shakes, Total Lean Protein Bars. And they have such good flavors and such good products. And I'm always like, way stocked up on my Total Lean products from GNC. So the Total Lean Layered Lean Bars, they have flavors like peanut butter pie, cookie dough, cookies and cream. Um, they are really as good as they sound. They have 16 grams of protein. Protein helps reduce the feeling of hunger, so you stay full and focused. So obviously, it'd be nice if we could like sit down with a roast turkey for every meal, but sometimes you just need your protein on the go. And if you're just like grabbing something in between meetings or on your way somewhere, or you're traveling, like, you're not going to stay full if it's not like a well-thought-out snack. And that's why having those bars on demand is so clutch. Also, I have their shakes literally in the fridge here, in my fridge at home. The bars have 16 grams of protein and 200 calories or less. So they're really great when you're out somewhere, you'd rather snack on that as opposed to just like munching on nothing. Um, and you can satisfy your hunger between meals. They're really decadent. They're dessert-inspired. They're Layered Lean Bars by GNC Total Lean. I shop. There's actually a GNC like right by the studio, so I shop in person. And I also shop on the website all the time. I can't recommend it enough. Um, so if you're on like a weight loss journey, or if you're like bulking up, I know a lot of people like do weight training and you need a lot of protein. There's a million reasons why you could need protein. And getting it in like a delicious peanut butter flavor is so fabulous. Also, like, we'd be remiss if we didn't discuss like the time of year we are. We're entering that season, the holiday season, where it's just like eating everything in sight. And I think this is where a lot of people lose control. So being really stocked up on like good protein-filled healthy snacks is super important. So I do like a GNC order, I feel like once a month, like I'm these huge boxes are always showing up to my house, like with shakes and bars and stuff. And it's really. And I also shop like other products because they carry like their own brand of stuff, but they also carry like Quest chips and um, Bear Bells and Liquid IV, like things that I love and use. So it's like a one-stop shop. But their brand of of bars and shakes are really good. They're they're definitely to be trusted. Journeys are meant to be enjoyed. So start loving the weight loss journey with GNC Total Lean's satisfying snacks and meal replacements. You can find your flavor today. We have worked with GNC for a while. We literally just got a delivery from GNC today because as an on-the-go glamorous celebrity people, that's why the number one question I get, like, as an on-the-go glamorous celebrity, "How do you maintain your sickening physique?" And like, "What do you, where do you shop?" Well, the secret's out. Glamorous celebrities are shopping at GNC. And that's how we're staying so sick and looking. Yeah. Does your husband love those protein shakes? Yes, he loves the protein shakes. He's a protein shake kind of guy. I try to like make it nice for him in a little cup with some ice. He loves that. Um, they are the best. They're so filling. I feel like especially when you're on the go or as a mom, like you forget, like you need to have a quality, fulfilling meal, not just like grab a little, like something that's not nutritious, not packed with protein. So it is so nice having those. It really is. And, um, like having ice in a protein shake. I just want to let you know that's insane. Is it? Unless you're going to like Ninja Creami it or put it in a smoothie, like in the blender, like having it over ice. I always drink it out of the bottle in the fridge. Like, that's weird. Your husband's probably like, "Oh, that's so sweet. My wife is crazy." Is it weird? It's definitely weird to put it over ice like a little milkshake. No, I think that's like, that's not what the cool kids are doing. Oh, I mean, that's fine with me. So visit gnc.com toast. Use our code toast25 at checkout for 25% off all GNC Total Lean. Our next story, Anne Hathaway is returning for "Princess Diaries 3." Hathaway has confirmed the news on Instagram hours after Deadline exclusively reported that director Adele Lim has boarded the threequel. In the video she posted, she counted to three with cuts of her younger self as Mia Thermopolis and Julie Andrews as Queen Clarisse Renaldi, both saying, "Shut up." Okay, now I never wanted to do this. I never wanted to say this, but I fear I have no choice but to share an honest truth about myself in this very moment. I, Claudia Ashre, have never seen "Princess Diaries 2." You've not seen any piece of it? Not. I don't even know what it's about. It's about her marriage. She's like, between, she has a, someone who she's betrothed to, a, a worthy candidate for the Princess of Genovia, but she's fallen for the bad boy. She has a. Happily, Lily's brother? Like, wasn't that her man in the first one? That was high school. Claud. That was so high school. Okay, because I saw all the hoopla being like, "Oh my god, get Chris Pine in it." I'm like, Chris Pine wasn't even in it. Like, he was the bad boy that she's falling for in the second one. And I, I don't know if they got married because it's all about like, a royal engagement. Mhm. And she has like her bad party. I think it was like a sleepover slumber party. They're like sliding down the banisters. In the cast, I absolutely loved "Princess Diaries 1." And me not seeing the second one was just a victim of circumstance. It's, it's not anything against the franchise. I actually, I love Julie Andrews. I think it's Anne Hathaway's best work. I could recite that first one by heart. Like, "Love, love, love." Mandy Moore singing "Candy," like, "I'm a stupid cupid, stupid cupid." Obsessed. Having said that, like, I, I do think we need to let bygones be bygones and like, let this franchise rest. I agree. Because it's like, what is this movie going to be? And who's it for? Is it for the original fans who are now 30 and like, we're watching mature movies? Like, is she the real queen of Genovia now? Like, tackling? Is her daughter getting married? Like, I'm kind of like, over that trope. I think there's a way to do it well and and we would really enjoy it. I don't know that this is what the world needs, but okay. I won't stop you. And I, I actually think Julie Andrews is better than this. Like, she was in "The Sound of Music," for crying out loud. Like, she's gonna. Julie Andrews is still the queen of Genovia because she's alive. So what's the premise? No, I seriously don't know. And I just want to say, not to be like a hater, negative queen, but that's who I am. And I don't like this. I don't think we need it. Let bygones be bygones. Like, can't. Why do we have to like, destroy the legacy of every great franchise by doing some like half-assed reboot 10 years later? The thing is, this will be good, okay? Because Anne Hathaway only does quality work. Same with Julie Andrews. Like, this will be good. But even at its best, like, do we need this? No. What do you consider Anne Hathaway's like, breakout role? Is it "Princess Diaries"? Yeah, that's her breakout. Because that's before "Prada." Yeah. But "Devil Wears Prada" brought her to like, a new category of like, Oscars and stuff. They're also doing a "Devil Wears Prada" reboot. Like, let it be done. No, they're they're doing a number two from something about Emily. Like, Emily in Paris or something. Like, oh, which by the way, I watch "Emily in Paris." Like, and like, they've actually taken it too far. In terms of like, we used to like, Kiki and watch because it was like bad and funny. Now it's just bad and bad. Like, it's it's actually like a bad TV show. I, that's why I, I stopped watching. I stopped watching. Yeah. Sorry. Everyone's like, tells me I would love it. I'm like, I don't. I like, I watched it. I don't even like it. But like, you low-key would love it. I think about it. I know. And I don't know. The, it doesn't do for me what you think it was. It doesn't like scratch that itch. Instead, I'm like, "Yucky." Yeah. Because it's kind of like a "Bold Type" type of show. It's about like women in the workplace being cute. It's not serious. Like, it's fashion, but like, I, I don't know. It doesn't. It doesn't capture me. It doesn't have heart. Oh, by the way, it does not have heart. Yeah. I need heart. You do. You're kind of like a lover like that. I am. That's a more. That's some.
Are you ready for our fifth and final story? Yeah. Strip that down for me, baby. Little box office news. "The Joker 2" has premiered at the box office, and the numbers are a little lackluster for "The Joker 2." No, by the way, they are extremely lackluster. And the story, the headline here is, "No, after all the hoopla, 'Filad' is like flopping majorly." "Filad" duty. It's "Filad" duty. And there's like a theory going around that the director, Todd, like destroyed the movie. And like, Lady Gaga and Waen, like, they know.
It's bad. There's nothing they could do about it. Like, they tried their best. And like, this director, like, seriously destroyed it. And they got, like, you know, some [ __ ] standing ovation, which, like, now we know means nothing. And this video has gone viral of people trying to read their lips because it appears like Joaquin Phoenix says to Lady Gaga, "It's horrible." Now, they could be talking about a million things. Like, "Oh, isn't it annoying when everybody stands up for you?" Yeah, it's horrible. Like, they could have said that about anything. Yeah, these seats are not comfortable. It's horrible. Oh, yeah, my coccidia is flaring up. Right. It's horrible. Yeah.
So now we're just like looking at everything with this lens because, like, the movie's like, it's apparently a very bad movie. And like, apparently Lady Gaga doesn't stop singing in it. Like, every time like there's a problem, they're like, "What do we do?" And she's like, "Like, it's giving toast." Anyways, Joker F, a genre-bending sequel to the billion-dollar comic book smash. Yeah, you have to remember, like, those are the numbers they're reaching for here. It's a comic book. It's in the comic family. And Joker one was like, right gangbusters. It hit a sour note at the box office even as it opened at number one. But with a $40 million opening weekend, ticket sales were behind the initial projections of 50 to 65.5 million, a range that was already revised down in the subsequent week since Joker 2 landed on pre-release tracking with $70 million. Right. And they also, I believe, had like a $300 million budget. This is like a huge movie. This is B. I imagine they'll make their money back, like, at the end of the day. But it's so crazy.
And also, it's like, okay, so say the movie was bad. But like, there are plenty of Joker fans who have to like go and see the movie in order to find out that it's bad. Yeah. Like, well, because the weird thing about this is, like, you said, it's like a Marvel DC, it's a comic movie. But the Joker has always had like a little bit more of a serious edge to it. It's almost like a mental health film, right? Um, but this one, they really made like, really artsy. And like, the people who like comic books are very like, Mass America. Like, yeah, they don't want to see like Lady Gaga scatting and Joaquin Phoenix like being like an artist. They took it like too seriously. The Venn diagram circles are getting farther apart.
Did you see that clip of them doing, um, press with with the water? No? Okay. I actually want to send it to you. It is one of the Wait, okay. It is one of the funniest things. It's just like a little faux pod there, sitting drinking water. Um, how are we spelling Joaquin Phoenix? You know, I'm just going to say Lady Gaga water. Oh, yeah. Okay. I texted it to you. Okay. If you guys know what video I'm talking about, like, it actually, it's so stupid. It just really made me giggle. And I'll explain what it is after Jackie watches it. Joaquin Phoenix almost made Lady Gaga spit out her water after just tapping the water. She grabbed the water for herself, and he thought it was for him. Like, it's so stupid. But this is the only thing I've really seen from the movie. I think these two like got along so well. This, uh, clip made me laugh so hard. I think they like love each other. But she always does that, like, with her co-stars. But I think they have like a real friendship. Okay. Which is kind of nice. Just like a fun fact about like coming out of the movie, even though like the movie is flopping. Um, my God, this made me laugh so hard. Like, like so stupid. I thought it was going to be not a sweet moment. Oh, no. It's like, so far, it's been fine. Like, it's been good. And I think they really like. And they're kind of an unlikely duo, like from a personality standpoint. They're both like so serious and artistic. But they're also both in relationships. So like, maybe men and women can just be friends? Isn't that the age-old question?
I have something crazy to say because I know who Joaquin Phoenix is. Like, that men and women can't just be friends. No, no, no. It's about Joaquin Phoenix. Like, and I know these people are so different. Like, but I do sometimes like get a little bit confused. And it's like, I don't get confused because I know Joaquin Phoenix. But he does, like, to me, like him and Quentin Tarantino are like interchangeable in the same bucket. They have the same face. Yeah. It's also crazy that like that's Johnny Cash. Yeah. And so we like, we grew up watching Walk the Line. Like, it's like one of our family movies. And like, I've known, like, I know Joaquin Phoenix. I've known and loved him forever. Like, I, like, I know who he is. When I was growing up, like, I actually could not tell Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock apart. Like, I would be like, these two women are the same. Yeah. They were, they're similar.
Elk. It's all about elk now. We're going to do Love Is Blind recap. But I think it might be helpful. I know you put your iPad away because I still am not clear on everyone's names. I'm not clear on everyone's names. But you'll know who I'm talking about. I just want to get like the couples, like the current couples. The scientists. I don't know their names. Oh, Garrett, G. Taylor, Taylor. Then there's Okay, let's go couple by couple because they're like, obviously the front runners. They got engaged first. I, I think she's literally gorgeous. I love that he's a physicist. So gorgeous. She's like, they, it couldn't be more perfect for each other. I genuinely think that they're so Ates. I don't know what happens next with them. But I'm really looking forward and I hope that they're like, the, the one couple of the season. My only, um, concern with her is like, it feels like she doesn't know how to be in love. Like, she's still has like her walls up. And it kind of feels like he's like, still, she's still like keeping him at arm's length, like making him chase her. When it's like, you're engaged now. Like, now it's time to like, switch into like, the, the loving part. And I, I feel like that could come between them. But I'm very much rooting for them. And that's like a small problem to have. After, yeah.
And I thought it was such an interesting, um, it made for a, a more dynamic group. Like, I think the city that they film in, like, always has a reflection on the people. And, um, like, I think that, like, the Portland, Seattle group was like, up until this group, the worst group. And, you know, like a Chicago, Chic, Chicago, Shane, yeah, deep tea, Natalie, that, yeah, that was the worst season so far. Yeah. Group until we met the folks from DC. I actually felt like it was really promising at first. I thought the people, because they're from DC, they're all like, really like accomplished and professional. I thought, I feel like some, one of my concerns with the show always and my complaints is like, people speak in not real sentences. Like, you're not even saying anything. And every other word is like, like, like. And they speak like in TikTok language. I actually thought that these people were like, really eloquent and mature. And I was like, it was giving Love Is Blind UK. That was like my initial, my initial reaction to the group. And then it just like, slowly started to deteriorate. And then, like, the people they decided to focus on, like, they just chose the work. Well, it's not that they chose it, it's like that's how it ended up. Like, no, because they chose not to follow Britney and Leo. And to me, like, I, I only have the most to say about Britney and Leo. Like, the way that whole saga captivated me. Of course, at the beginning, like, Leo, art dealer, like, with the big Jewish jar around his neck, like, please make it kill, like, seriously kill me. By the end, though, like, I could, I could deal with him. And I, and I was sort of rooting for him, even though he like was really annoying along the way. And like, they're talking about money. And by the time, like, him and Britney got together, I wanted them to get together just to like, get on with the experiment. Now, of course, like, he wanted Hannah, and Hannah denied him. And then he like pretends like Bice's first voice. And we all know it didn't happen that way. But like, I want to be engaged to someone. Give me some something. Um, and so, I, I also wanted, when there's a, a four people, and someone has a connection with two people, like, I like when everybody gets a partner and can like iron out the details in Mexico. But like, let's all go to Mexico instead of like, what happened with like, Jimmy and Chelsea and Jessica and Trevor. We got like two people, and then we have to go wait to the lake till everyone sees each other. Like, that's for entertainment value. I like when everybody has a partner and then deal with. But at least like, they all ended up seeing each other. I don't think Britney and Leo come back on the show at all. Well, the fact that they didn't follow their engagement is so confusing to me. Because I thought they were the most interesting, entertaining couple. He was got so much airtime, as did she. And towards the end, I was kind of like, they're kind of perfect for each other. Like, she wants a wealthy guy, and he's a wealthy guy. And he wants like a beautiful girl that he could take care of. And she's a beautiful girl who wants to be taken care of. So they made it so obvious that they like both were just like, so here for the wrong reasons. That like, I don't think in good faith, like, they could have, you can't reward that type of behavior. To get engaged to someone and not be able to tell them that you love them. Like, that's not a real engagement. Like, this whole thing, by the end, it was such a farce. Like, the girl he wanted said no, and then like, he just chose some other random girl. Like, it was such a farce and it was so fake.
The one thing about, by the way, the one thing about this show, like, we could say what we want. It's like, it is a legitimate experiment. Like, they almost always end up with multiple couples, multiple people's married. There are a million people who are still married. Like, this, I really think like, if they had continued with this, Sherad, like, it would have chipped away at the authenticity of the experiment. But that happens all the time when someone's between two people, one person makes the choice, and they go to the second person. And there's a way to finesse it that is fine, and you get your story. People were not trying to. Yeah, but Hannah and Britney were like talking. They usually don't talk. The girls or the two people they were talking a lot in the lounge. Yeah, like sharing. If Chelsea had chosen Trevor, Jimmy could have chosen Jess, even though like, we knew she was kind of second place. But like, it could have been finesse. So the fact that they couldn't, I don't know, make that believable for us. Um, but I guess, and I know that like, they're looking for serious couples. But they have serious couples. These two were so entertaining. I was genuinely shocked that they decided not to follow them. Britney obviously did not like him from a physical perspective. And like, maybe she, like, when the cameras were off, are like, listen, I'm out. And maybe that's why they didn't follow them. Maybe. But like, maybe she couldn't fake it staying in a hotel room with this. The entertainment value of like, Hannah and other guy and Britney and Leo in Mexico. Like, they are also doing a TV show. Like, I was ready and excited to see that. Now, that's always the best part of Mexico, of course, the group. And we didn't have that. I, I had to pause the show. I was just then stalking them on Instagram. Um, I found Leo's Instagram. He makes like, a lot of content about art. I wasn't like, classic, not learning stuff. I was learning some stuff.
I need to talk about Hannah because I feel like there was Taylor, right, on one end, who went so far out of her way to not give any sort of indication as to what she looked like. She didn't even want him to know his mother's name because it would have been an indication of her race. Like, I think for, like, this was, I saw a, a bunch of couples like so extreme in not sharing their anything about their looks. And then, you know, you're reminded of like, Chelsea saying, who you're, it's like, there are roundabout ways of saying what you look like. Oh, my celebrity doubleganger is Megan Fox. And I felt like Hannah did that a lot. She kept saying like, I always choose the wrong guys who just want me for my looks. And she just kept saying like, a lot of really like leading types of things, while also saying that she was so, um, worried about like, she has her own insecurity. She brought up her weight a lot. And then for her to see her fiance, who, by the way, say what you want about Nick, I know he has like a bad reputation. He has been nothing but steadfast in his in his obsession with had. Like, he has given her no reason to doubt. And I want to say something about Monica in a second, in regards to how me, Steven's fiance, your favorite person, Stephen, so Ste, for her to open the gates, and the first thing she says is like, oh, he's small. He misled me saying he's a football player. Why? He literally is a football player. There's not even small. He said he's a kicker. Like, the kicker is always small. That she was like, so turned off by his appearance. But like, the whole time, it's like, I would love you if you were this. And would you, she's asking, would you love me if I was a worm? And like, she wants unconditional love, no matter what the person sees. And like, she can't get over the fact that like, in her big ass heels, she's taller than him. Like, girl, take your heels off. No, she's awful. BS you, which stuff that was so rude and so, like, you expect that sort of like, dumb, shallow behavior from a man. Like, not from a woman who's really actually. Seriously, let me tell you, the problem with Hannah, too. She's 26, okay? She's so immature. Obviously 26, but also like, really immature, really insecure. So she reads like an actual 18-year-old. So yeah, her age is really a hindrance in this process. It's funny because Leo said she was like the most mature one that he's met. No, my God, that conversation where she tried to break up with Leo, and she's just screaming, sighing, crying, throwing right? Because she can't even like stand behind the decision that she made because she doesn't know what decision to make. And it was so funny watching that, just juxtaposed with Marissa, who I have other issues with. But Marissa had two connections, Bowden and Ramsey. And they were both going really well. Like, she was having so much fun with both of them. And then she just sits Bowden down and says, like, we have so much fun, but I, I listen. And it's very similar to like, the Love Is Blind UK guys. Bah. She sits him down and said, we have a really strong connection, but my connection with Ramsey is a little more romantic. That she's able to identify that and also say, and now I want to spend the time working on my one connection, not get to the last day having spread myself with two connections the entire time. I'm like, that is maturity. That's emotional maturity. So true. The fact that Hannah couldn't do that, couldn't identify which connection she liked more, and then like, zero in on it. And when she finally did make a choice, couldn't even stand by that choice. And and Leo was making it easy for her because he was being a dick. So it's like, oh, well, thank you for telling me what I need to know. Good day, sir. He was being a dick, and she still didn't even break up with him. Like, she just loved having two guys. And like, she wanted to be a main storyline. Like, I found her. And then when she said that thing about Nick, who I can't believe Nick has such a bad reputation. Like, oh, he's charming, he's like a smooth talker, not a crime. Um, but here's also a good example because in Love Is Blind UK, there was a guy who was saying all the right things. Sam, Sam. And for some reason, you couldn't believe what he was saying. Like, he was saying everything perfect, but it just wasn't right. It was just intuition saying, like, this guy's full of [ __ ]. And we had confirmation because the men said, this guy is bad news. He's there for the wrong reasons. We never had that with Nick. I feel like if he was one of those guys, Leo could have easily said to Hannah, by the way, Nick is not here for the right reasons. He's got issues with the guys in the house. That wasn't the case. She had no reason to doubt him other than just a feeling. And so my issue with Monica is that like, I felt like Hannah was getting such bad advice in the pods. Like, I mean, in the lounge, she would have the pods and like have her feelings come back and tell everyone. And Monica and that other sports casting girl were being like, you can't choose Nick. But she initially liked Nick. Like, she was like, Nick, really? This. And Monica had such a hard on for Nick. She literally walked in and like, to that beach you didn't see in Mex, Mexico, when they all meet for the first time, she sees Nick and then makes a comment in her thing like, oh, he's small. And basically calling him ugly. It's like, [ __ ] you ended up with a man who's a cheater. Okay, Stephen. I mean, I guess you could technically, in a technical definition, temp, define me as a cheater. [ __ ] you literally cheated. You chose a cheater. Close your mouth. Stop judging other people. Claudia, I forgot that Stephen's even a cheater. Stephen is so many things. He's seriously like, like the worst, most insufferable type of man. Yeah, I, I don't, I was not, I keep forgetting about them. Like, they're very forgettable. And they're like, talking about their connection. I'm like, is the connection in the room with us? What are you guys talking about? And I just think that like, she got so fixated. His story is obviously crazy. You see him, he's just like a white guy. He, his whole life thought he was Italian. Does one of those tests, turns out he's like 80% Nigerian. G, by the way, the percent Chief's changing. His dad is a quarter. And then he, his dad is a quarter. That's. And then he said his dad is three-quarters. That's what said. So it turns out he, that doesn't, that doesn't make Steven 80%? No, it doesn't. But he's like, he has this huge African background. And I guess when he found that out, his first thing that he did was like, go buy some books on his on his culture. Like, very normal. That's what a mature, curious person does. She acted, he bought books. Like, he's also a cheater. Like, everything else went out the window when he bought a book. Like, and I understand like being happy somebody has respect for their culture. I think that's beautiful. But I felt like it just, it was like the only thing she thought of when there's so many other red flags with him. No. And the thing is, to me, the cheating isn't even a huge red flag. Because Freddy from Love Is B had cheated, and we could forgive him a thousand times over. The way he told the story. Well, I have to, um, you know, I hate to label, but I guess technically I'm a cheat. Like, just [ __ ] fess up. And I also thought think the cheating that he did is like, kind of one of the worst kind. He slid into someone's DMs. He had like an emotional affair. That's like being having those thoughts. Not just I made a mistake one time, I was drunk, I hooked up with someone. You la a plan. That's really [ __ ] crazy to have like, an ongoing emotional affair with someone. And in a lot of ways, like, I think that that's what's worse. And also the fact the way he tried to like, say it while acting like he's taking accountability, but like passing it off as like, not that bad. And bringing it up. That's what I mean when I say he's like, so insufferable. Because he's like, I'm accountable and this and that, but like, you're really not. And I'm sure there's more to the story. There always is. Oh my God, no.
And Monica was just really pissing me off. Giving, give, like, Hannah wasn't helping herself, but she's younger. And these older women were giving her advice. Like, they were giving her bad advice. And like, they were so kind of like mocking her for liking Nick. And I think that's why she told him to go home. I think she like felt embarrassed. Like everybody was making fun of her. Like, that other girl who works in sports casting, who had like two dates with Nick, be like, I can't believe like you fell for like, smooth talking. Shut up, I guess. But that's, that didn't bother me as much. Because like, if you love someone and you have a connection with them, like, you should be able to like, withstand some chatter from the girls who don't see him like you see him. Like, her. It's all on Hannah like being immature. I don't want to say that only like older people should go on this show because I don't think that that's true. And I think at 26, frontal lobe there, you can be old enough to go on the show. But like, she didn't know thyself. She didn't know what she was looking for. She didn't have like the confidence in her own decisions. And it's a mess. It's a mess. I completely agree. I, I'm sorry. I only brought it up because when Monica comes in, she just says something nasty about Nick. And like, I serious, I about put it into context. Like, everything she had been saying about, she has like a heart on him. Like, shut up. I just want to say, like, am I crazy? Like, Nick is a very good-looking guy. I have no idea what these people are talking about. He's so normal looking. He could be on The Bachelor. He's 5'9, which isn't short, but it's not tall. And if she takes her heels off, she is shorter than him. It's literally the least. So if you are someone who wants to be shorter than your man, like, you can achieve that. Just don't wear. And you didn't have a problem with it. Hoppers, he said wear your heels. You could wear kitten heels. She had kitten heels. The difference.
Let's talk about Tyler and Ashley. A, who are like my favorite couple. Until I found out this morning. Like, to me, they were the, like, really the only reason I was keep watching. They have this really nice conversation about. She's like, and they're both really religious. So at first, you think it's about that. But it's really not. She's like, I've been doing, I've been like, keeping abstinence. I'm sorry, I don't know what the right verb is, but I've been doing abstinence. I've been AB, I've been abstaining. Oh my God. Are we okay? Um, and not for any religious reason. She, it was this thing called like, soul swapping. I had never heard of it. But he was like, totally, like, he knew what she was talking about. And I guess it's this thing where, like, you know, sex is so personal and so intimate. Just to have casual sex, like, you feel like you're giving a piece of your soul away. And like, you want to keep that for yourself. And she's like, I've just not been having sex with like, with guys that I'm not seriously seeing. And he was like, totally respect that. I love it. They prayed together before bed. Like, I just [ __ ] love these people. And I thought that their connection was so authentic. I loved him. Like, every time they went to the guys' quarters, he was like, that guy hyping up other guys. Like, I just, like, seriously, I thought, I thought they were like, the best couple ever.
Now, the children. There's obviously nothing wrong with having kids, right? Um, but it appears as though he is really minimizing his involvement in the kids' life. And the mom and grandma of the kids are sharing all these pictures being like, what are you talking about? Sperm donor. Has he mentioned to Ashley that he has these kids? I haven't gotten there yet. I think you should wait and make the decision for yourself. Like, I think there is a way in which he's minimizing it for a good reason. Like, maybe to protect the identity, which that I understand. But the mom is now posing pics of the kids. Like, okay, that's her choice. Yeah. I think, and it's also like, you know, she'll get some eyeballs from this process. But not as much as him. I think you can wait. They don't, that doesn't have to ruin the show for you. Because like, seriously, by the end of the episode I was watching, I was only tuning in for them. What about the scientists? The scientists are really compatible and really cute. They are not interesting. Britney and Leo were interesting. Yeah. Okay. Britney and also, and Hannah and Nick are interesting. Yeah. Oh, a lot of the cast members look very different. Yes. Garrett looks really different now. Hannah is a completely new person. She has hair like down to her ankles. She's lost like a ton of weight. She had said that she had recently lost 45 pounds. I feel like she was in the middle of a journey. Yeah, because now she's at the end of the journey. I also feel like when you're in the middle of a transformative journey like that, transforming inside and out, like, it's not the time to like, be going on a show like this and meeting your potential life partner. Like, you're still figuring yourself out. However, like, Love Is Blind only comes to DC once in a while. Like, sign me up. By the way, that's such a good point. Like, going through a physical transformation like, really [ __ ] with your head. And it's like, I can only imagine dating on that. Dating plus being on a show that's not about looks. Claudia, being on a show that's not about looks until it becomes all about looks. And like, looks is like the, the hover, the elephant in the room. And it's like, it's a mind [ __ ] before you're even going through a tri, transformative formative journey.
I also want to say, so while I was on my Leo Britney, like, rabbit hole, wanted to see their trip to Miami. Leo posted a bunch of stuff about how a lot of the people in the house, and they've attested to this, had no idea that he had money or came from money. And that he actually did not talk about it that much. Now, we heard about him talk about it like three separate times, and it sounded like that was all he was talking about. But it seems as though those were like, the three times he talked about it. It wasn't like this big thing. One girl commented like, oh, Leo, I didn't know you were rich, rich. Like, call me. And then someone, maybe it was Tyler, went on the Vile Files and they asked him about Leo, like, what are your thoughts on Leo? And cuz he's obviously getting like the villain edit. And he was like, I didn't know anything about Leo. He never mentioned that he was seemed like a really good guy. Like, he really like was vouching for him. And it just made me like, question what we saw about him. Now, of course, like, there were things that he said that he said those things and deal with that. But like, I do feel like he got the villain edit a little bit. Oh, for sure. And I don't think he's a bad person. If anything, he's just like an annoying loser. But I, I boiled it down. I know what's wrong with Leo because like, the thing is, when you grow up uber wealthy, like, you, the assumption is that you're cool, you know? Like, you've had experiences most people never have. Like, he said, country club, Rolex, you know? And then like, the Rolex was passed down from his grandfather. That's different than just going out and buying a Rolex. He is inherently like, uncool. And so he says things that like, if a cool person said it, you might think it was different. But there's just like, he's not suave like that. And he thinks he is. So he's just an uncool rich person. Which, it's hard to be like, to be rich is like, half the work is done for you, you know? Yeah. Yeah. I just thought it was, there was entertainment value there. And I was really shocked that they cut us off.
Now, the last two couples that we haven't spoken about, Ramsey and Marissa. I have something to say about Marissa. And I know every time I recap with you, I bring up this conversation about Will Ferrell. And you probably didn't think anything of it. No, I thought it was so weird. Okay, it was like a dumb question. First of all, Will Ferrell is funnier. She was like, Will Ferrell or Adam Sandler? It's a fine question, honestly. I have no problems with it. It's a little weird, but okay. But I felt like when she asked it, and then the conversation that happened after, like, really pinpointed that she was just like, such a people pleaser. Because she was like, okay, Will Ferrell or Adam Sandler? And her belief is that like, Will Ferrell is the least funny person on the planet. And like, Adam Sandler invented comedy. So Ramsey was it, Ramsey? Or was it the other guy? Ramsey. He says, oh, well, Ferrell. And she like vehemently disagrees with this. So they, they answered a question. There was an A or B, and they both chose separate things. And she asked that question as like, a test of like, match of compatibility, not just like, this or that, this or that. She was like, this is the question I have to ask you. But then Ramsey was like, but I will say, like, Elf is not good. And she was like, oh my God, I agree. We're soulmates. No, you literally just vly, like, you're on opposite sides. If that's a test for compatibility, you failed. Yeah. And I know it, it's such a dumb, small moment. But I really felt like it was like, oh, you're not a serious person. No, you're not a serious. Like, Will F, I'm, who gives a [ __ ]? They're the same thing. No, it's such a bad question. My issue was with the question, not even with the way she contorted herself to make the answer work for her. Yeah, but it, it was a window, I feel like, into them not working out. Like, D. Yeah. Um, but I do think he's a better match for her than I'm so sorry. Bowden. I actually liked what she said. Because they both, we're having great conversation. And because she has a people, everything was like, yeah, we're the same, we're the same. Ha. Oh my God, we're literally soulmates. We're soulmates. We're soulmates. Any. I just want to say, like, two people should not be the same, right? Isn't that the old adage? Opposites attract? Like, if you find someone who is your carbon copy, like, you probably shouldn't be together. Just based on like, the laws of physics. No. Yeah, it's so true. Yeah. Um, but when she said, like, she had more romantic feelings and it was more friendly with B, I'm like, okay, that's a good enough reason for me. Yeah. And I thought she was very mature about her decision. Like, I don't have any problems with what she did. Really, in the pod. I thought her strategy was so fair. She was very communicative with everyone. It was when you put it up against like, the other love triangle, it was so much better handled. So much better handled. There's a clean. I don't envy anyone in that position. You're making a big decision that's going to affect a lot of people's lives, potentially for the rest of their life. It's a hard decision to make. But it can be done well. There is nothing wrong with having multiple connections. But at some point, like, you have to just have one. And to be on the last day before you get proposed to, he's still talking to another girl. Like, that's not it. Yeah. And don't you want to like, focus on that one and strengthen it so that when you do say yes to an engagement, like, you really feel like you know this person and that's your fiance? Yeah. That, and same goes for Leo, by the way. He handled it like [ __ ] too. He should have made a choice earlier on. But as you said, like, he wanted to be on the show. So you don't do that. And I think he liked Hannah more. But she wasn't ready to choose him. So he was just sort of waiting it out. The thing is, I don't even know if he liked Hannah more. I think this happens a lot on the show where like, a girl is in a love triangle with with another woman. And she is so like, cuz women are more emotional, like, we seek clarity. We just want to know what page we're on. And someone being like, I don't know, I love you both. Like, that's infuriating. So they get to a place where every date they have with this person just turns into like, an argument about the other person. And then so Leo's like, well, I like Britney, but every time we hang out, we fight. Right? And so it's, it's always like, one of them starts every conversation. Yes, where you kind of self-sabotage because you just want answers. And then the, the man thinks of you like, G, this girl's kind of miserable. And so you do, like, you implode. And like, Jess was like, listen, you have to tell me. And he was like, okay, it's not you, right? I just, like, I'm not a big on parallel universes. But I would like love to see what would happen if like, Jimmy had chosen Jess. I actually don't think they would have worked out. Really? Yeah, she's like a whole lot of woman. And like, the thing is, in the pods, I think he was maybe a hot commodity. But like, in the real world, I don't think so. But she's like, like, she would have loved him. And he would have loved. I don't know. I think they had more prench than Jimmy and Chelsea.
The last couple is Tim and Alex. Now, I want to say, is that Nation of Islam? Yeah. I'm personally not watching their journey. That's when I check my phone. The fact that they would talk about that, like admiringly, when it's like a deeply racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic organization. That's where I checked out. But I'm not going to let that ruin the season for me. No. And to be clear, I just wanted to say, because I, I then like, I, I know Nation of Islam as like, Louis Farrakhan. I'm not anti-Semitic. I'm just an anti-termite. And actually, that's what he says. I'm not anti, I'm an anti-termite. Um, I then like, went on their Wikipedia page, really, to see what they're all about. Okay. By the way, I didn't realize like, that I wanted to be clear, like, Nation of Islam is like a nationalist group. They are not Muslim. Like, they're two separate things. Like, I just want to be entirely clear about that. And they, like, their beliefs are that like, Jews injected the black community with AIDS. Like, that's one. That's one. But that one really stuck with me. I was like, oh my God, that's new. Like, they are the. I completely agree. No, it would literally be like her sitting there being like, my grandfather has a photo with David Duke. Like, it's the same thing. And the fact that there was nothing like about how terrible it. She was proud. She was proud. And then he was like, oh, wow, that's like with Malcolm X. Like, uh, no. T. Yeah, I agree. I was, I was really shook by that. I was like, oh, so whether they're right for each other or doing well, I have no idea. I'm not paying attention. Well, I just want to say, she obviously does not like him in a physical sense. And she is like, really, she's not being awful to him, but she's not being. And I actually think he's a really nice guy. I think he's like, a very, I think he's like the type of guy you would be lucky to have, right? He's very communicative. He has this, he shared all these things with him with her about his sisters who both passed away. Like, she gave this. I think she's so unworthy. I think she, like, I think in the pods, I was like, oh, I think she's genuine. And now in person, I feel like she's just like, completely written him off. But she doesn't want to be, you know, shallow. Understood. So she'll wait. Yeah, until the proposal. But there are, there are so many couples. I know. And I feel like a lot of times there's like, you know, eight couples that go to Mexico or eight couples that get engaged. And Netflix does their own pairing down to like, five or six. And I think they could have used a little bit of pairing down. Like, there are some couples here who are really uninteresting. Who Monica and Stephen are. Like, I, I think that they're, they're not interesting at all. Honestly, they make me chuckle. And I don't think that they're chemistry. Because I don't think Garrett and Taylor are interesting at all either. Their chemistry is interesting. Like, the need serious couples like that. And they're wildly interesting people. They're so smart. Literally, the first thing she said when she was talking Nick and Vanessa about like, retrograding dating, like, she's just so smart. She's a pleasure to listen to. The fact that they have those little like theories, it's so [ __ ] cute. It's lessons in chemistry. Like, we need that. Even though they're not the most interesting. Like, it's like Lauren and Cameron. Yes, a thousand percent. You need those like core couples. Yeah. They're like one of my faves right now. No. And the thing is, they're such a big group. And when they all get together, there is no crossover. Like, there's no love triangle that made. Because that's where the entertainment lies. If you're going to have such a big group for that reason, like, because there's a bunch of, you know, people who used to date, love that. Throw them all in a pool. Perfect. I really think it was a mistake to not follow Britney and Leo. I know they don't want to encourage thirst monster behavior. But like, they've got plenty of it already. And it's take, it would take away from the from the entertainment value of the show. And I was, I was really floored by that decision. Because we've never followed a couple, watch them get engaged, and then they say, we're not, we've decided not to follow them.
Jackie, do you know we're going on an hour and 45 minutes? Oh my God. I just was looking at the clock. I'm like, there's no way. It makes sense. We had so much to talk about today. Oh my God. I just got up. I'm literally sweating. My back. Oh my God. Okay. We could call it. The Kurds are at their limit. No, but we just like, actually have to get the episode up. Yeah. Yeah. That it's going to be even longer because it's an hour 45. Okay. Um, I also just wanted to say, Britney from Love Is Blind, like, is Bridget from the bar. Like, if you guys follow at Bridget on Instagram, they look and talk the same. And it's a compliment. They're both beautiful. I want to say by the end, like, I was so endeared to Britney. That's also why I wanted to follow her journey. Like, did she find the man for her? She was seriously so sweet. You thought at the beginning that she was going to be like, superficial, like gold digger. She was not that. Yeah. Not that at all. Um, okay, that's our show.
