[Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Hey, hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey.

[Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] It feels so [Music] Well, good morning, Caris. Well, I'm here to make a special announcement to you, to introduce our uh speaker today. And I know we had him earlier in the week. So, those of you that are joining us live stream, um, Dwayne, uh, Pastor Dwayne Sheriff is going to be joining us today and teaching. And he is a, he is an instru-, one of the uh, instructors here at Caris Bible College. And Dwine, Pastor Dwine is absolutely amazing. He's been around here a really long time. I actually asked, was asking him earlier, "How long have you been here?" Because I remember you were teaching when I was in school. And I, I remember the, I still remember to this day the first time he got up to teach. It was just like, absolutely phenomenal. The wisdom this man has, and just his, I loved his sense of humor and just how he presents the gospel and how he just shares the love of Jesus. So we want to give a warm welcome, Caris Bible College. Welcome to Pastor Dwayne Sheriff. Love you.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Praise the Lord. Father, we thank you for this sanctified time, holy time. This is holy ground and the Holy Spirit has preeminence here. And I pray that we not quench him in our hearts or in our midst, but that we would hunger for truth. We would hunger for the things of God. Thank you that he creates that hunger and he's the only one that can satisfy it. Thank you that he truly is the great teacher and you promised he would lead us and guide us into all truth. Amen.

>> Amen. All right, I ran out of time in my last session on God's image in man. How that man is created in the image and in the likeness of God. It's a part of our true identity. It's what makes us human. It's what separates us from animals. And all of creation is God's image, God's likeness. Man is the apex of all creation, the pinnacle of all God's ever created. He's the crown jewel of God's heart. And that is you. And that is me. And we need in this hour desperately to understand God's image in man. That it's not something apart from our being and a part of who we are. And so I spent some time on dominion. Dominion is the image of God in man. And you will either pervert it in sin or celebrate it in righteousness. But you can't change it. Man rules. And he'll either rule in darkness or he'll rule in light. He'll either pervert that image or he will celebrate that image.

And then I ran out of time on male and female. How that man is created in the image and likeness of God. And it was Moses that said, "God created us male and female." And it was Jesus in Mark chapter 10 that affirmed what Moses said in Genesis chapter 1 in dealing with divorce and remarriage. Jesus himself said, "God gave you a bill of divorcement because of your hard hearts, but from the beginning it was not so. God created them male and female." So Jesus is the ultimate authority of the cosmos. And he said, "We're created in God's image, which is male and female." And then he told us why we're created male and female. "For this cause shall a man leave his father and his mother and be joined unto his wife. They shall no longer be two, but become one flesh." And "what God joins together, let no man separate." So we were created male and female for marriage. Not one.

>> I was disappointed running out of time because the question of a godly serious person would would be, well, what gender is is God? And is does God have gender specific? We have gender specific male female. We have blood. We have a body. God doesn't have a body. God doesn't have blood. God is a spirit. And they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. And Jesus, while he had gender assignment and specific male, he no longer has a body like you and I have. He has an immortal body and he has no blood in it. He poured his blood out for the sins of the world and sprinkled it on the mercy seat in heaven. He's flesh and bone, but he doesn't have blood. And see, your blood, every cell in your body, trillions of them, scream, "You're either a male or a female." Your blood cannot lie. Life is in the blood. Backsliden preachers lie, professors lie, politicians lie, journalists lie, but your blood cannot lie. You either have a X two X chromosomes or you have a XY chromosome. And that's a biological fact. And so while God is not gender specific like we understand gender specific or used to, God as spirit embodies perfectly masculinity and he embodies perfectly femininity. And he chose to create a male and a female in the natural to be his image and his and his likeness.

And to think that many of you young people have been born in a generation that doesn't know what a woman is. I apologize. Evidently, my generation lost its mind. Lost its mind. And how anybody, especially saved, could vote for somebody, empower somebody, put someone over them with their free will and their sovereignty that God granted us that's a part of his image in man, who do not know what a woman is, is amazing to me. 50 years ago, this wasn't even heard of and you would have been put in an insane asylum if you couldn't define what a woman is. And yet it's offensive to people. It's not offensive to me. I know what a woman is. A woman is a female adult. A woman has two X chromosomes. A woman has a womb that is lifegiving and every one of us owe a debt to and sustains the human race. That's what a woman is. A woman has breasts that nurture her children that provide minerals and vitamins that are absolutely phenomenal for the health of a baby and a blessing to her husband. Well, there's that male chauvinist pig. These are my breasts. Thank you for not deceiving me and me marrying you. A woman's problem. A woman is a part of the species that every problem she has is associated with men. Menstrual cycle, menopause, gynecologist. [Laughter] She primarily has estrogen as her primary hormone. And if it gets out of balance, feet don't fail me now. Feet don't fail me now. A woman walks. Men don't walk. A woman designed by God has wider hips to bring forth the human race. And they glide. They walk. We fall forward. Men lumber, but a woman walks. And it's, it's a, a beautiful part of creation. The, the hips, the do it.

>> Hallelujah. >> Woman, not a man. [Music] And to think that anyone could be confused. See, I'm in a hurry. I really want to get to some really good things. And, and so I can't spend two hours balancing everything I just did and said out. And yet those children of darkness, the ministers of darkness will be enraged at everything I just said. Right?

>> They will hate me. >> Because I know what a woman is. >> Because I know who the source of our life comes from. >> Because I know where life begins. >> They will hate you if you know where life begins. And I don't expect anyone in here should be confused on the simplicity of where does life come from and where does life begin. Every one of you, at least your life began at conception.

>> When did you become a human being? Not at six months. Not at two. Not at eight. When the miracle of creation, when the miracle of sperm unites with egg and there's a spark, a literal spark in a woman's womb of the image of God in that human being, the moment it is conceived.

And you're going to go into a world that will call you all kinds of names and say that's hate speech. If you believe in sexual purity, you're a bigot. You're a homophobe. You're transphobic. You're an oppressor. And I'll explain that if I have enough time, and I'm looking at the time now, and I won't get there. But God's image in man is male and female. And that image is not fluid. And that image cannot be changed. It can be perverted or it can be celebrated.

>> But it cannot be changed. >> All right, let's go on on to the next one. That was, that was number two out of 10. I don't think I'm going to make it. Uh, creativity. Creative. What is the image of God in man? How many of you know that the first words in the Bible is, "In the beginning God created..." >> the heavens and the earth. So what would, what would God's image in man be if he celebrated it? It would be creativity. Why do we create music? Why do we create and write poems and, and plays? Why do we build roads? Why do we build hospitals? Why do we build these beautiful skyscrapers that are just gorgeous on the skyline? Why, why do we invent? Why do we create new things that better the human existence? Because that's God's image in man. God creates and so we create. And you can either pervert that in sin and death or you can celebrate it in life and in righteousness now united to Jesus. But everybody's creating. There are children of darkness that love the darkness, that embrace the darkness, that hate the light. Jesus spoke of them in John chapter 3. And they will create new ways to deceive the masses. They will create new terms to deceive our young people. What is that? That's God's image. But can I get a witness? It's broken. It's fractured. And it's perverted. They'll create iniquity.

>> You can't change God's image in man. You can only pervert it or celebrate it. >> They create again, euphemisms. I'm not having a senior moment. I'm casting thoughts down. Please don't say that, Dwayne. Please don't say that. Please don't say that. And I'm searching for a, please say. There is one term that the world has created to deceive the masses that uh, is coming to me. And, and this one I'm actually a little comfortable with. I'm just not comfortable with the deception. But sex worker. They used to be called harlots. They used to be called, and they're called in the Bible, a... And I'm uncomfortable with those terms and usually I don't say them publicly and I'm not going to say them now. I, I am comfortable and it's easier to say sex worker, but I know that that is a created euphemism for, we're not committing sin. We're trying to make a living. You just hate people that work. No, work is God's image.

>> Everybody works. But you can pervert God's image and work iniquity. Or you can love Jesus now, get born again and celebrate God's image and do the works of your father, laying hands on the sick and watching them co-recover, creating new ways to reach another generation, new methods. Same message, but we're all creating something. You're a creator. You have an imagination. Why do you have an imagination? God has an imagination. The animals don't have an imagination. The animals don't even know they're here. What makes you human is you know you're here. You have a self-awareness and a conscience. That's why if you, if you have a cat, I, I've, I've only had a couple of cats I really liked. I had a cat I named Rat. Rat the cat. And, and this cat would obey me. >> I, I really shed a tear when he got killed. >> Uh, I love that cat because I, I live in rural America. I live in the middle of nowhere and, and I have a barn and, and a shed and I used to open the door and Rat the cat would be with me. I say, "Rat, go find them rats." and he would go in there and search around. But see, Rat didn't know he was here or that he was a cat >> cuz he doesn't have God's image. See, God knows he's here. >> God knows who he is. >> And you're created in his image. That's why you know you're here.

>> Amen. Or >> me. Yeah, I had a mirror and I had Rat in the house. I didn't let him in all the time, but I really did like this cat. And so I let him in against my spouse's better judgment. And he come up to a mirror and he saw himself in the mirror, but he didn't know it was him. So he jumped on the mirror. He kept attacking and pawing at the cat in the mirror. Why? Rat wasn't created in God's image and likeness. You're created in God's image >> and in God's likeness. And you know you're here. You have self-awareness. You can evaluate. You can imagine. You can hope. God is a God of hope. Why do we have hope? Because we're created in God's image and in God's likeness. And you can see the future and you can, you can imagine the way things could be and should be with God's help because of God's image in you. So everybody creates. You're either going to create iniquity or you're going to create ways to establish God's righteousness. God's image will either be broken and perverted or God's image will be celebrated in Jesus Christ. You'll, you'll be broken and bruised and perverted in sin and Adam or you'll be celebrating God's image in your life the rest of your life in the new man now Christ. Hallelujah. But you can't change it. It's God's image.

All right. Number four, words. Why do you speak and have the liberty of words? God speaks. And because God speaks, man created in his image speaks. The animals don't speak. Now, this is a mystery. I can't explain this, and I don't have time anyway, so I shouldn't have told on myself, but evidently, the animals can speak. A snake spoke in the garden. A backsliden dumb prophet had a donkey that spoke to him. That's one of my favorite Bible stories. I just can't imagine being that angry and you're beating your donkey. You're just mad at this jackass. It just, I am angry at you and you're beating it and the donkey looks up at you, "Wherefore hast thou despised thou donkey?" and he doesn't, he doesn't, doesn't even dawn on me, dawn on him. It, it's a, it's a great story, one of my favorites. So evidently they can speak. But there's a reason they don't speak. There's a reason you speak. God speaks. 11:3 says, and we understand by faith that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that things that are seen did not come from things that appear. God created with his words everything. Everything came from the word of God. The first tree didn't come from a seed. The first tree came from the ground that God spoke into existence and spoke the tree in the ground.

>> And so God called the tree out of the ground and then told the tree, you get to have seed and trees forever through seed time and harvest. So I said one time, everything we see is upheld by the word of God. That's in the Bible. Hebrews chapter 1:3 says that all things are being upheld by the word of God. Why are all things being upheld by the word of his power? Because everything was created by the word of his power. So it's God's word that holds everything up. That's why God cannot lie. It's not that God won't lie. God can't lie.

>> He can't. That's why we can have confidence in the word of God. It, there's things God can't do. I, I was a young pastor in the Methodist church and, man, did I cause no small stir. I'm at church and I said, "There's just some things God can't do." And we just got through singing a song, "God can do anything." So I looked like an idiot and they let me know quick. And so I was young. I, I apologized. So the next week I repented for saying there's things God can't do. Maybe I meant he won't do. Then the Holy Ghost rebuked me and said, "No, I can't do certain things."

>> So I repented for repenting, which was embarrassing because God can't lie.

>> Everything would collapse. >> What do you mean everything came from the word of God? Well, there was a tree and the tree had a seed and the seed brought forth another tree and we cut the tree down and we made a bat. So that bat came from the first tree that came from the word of God. So that bat exists and consists. That piano made out of wood. It exists >> and consists. Consist. >> Consist. I'm okay. And is upheld by the word of God. If God could lie, and he can't. The Bible says he can't lie. It's impossible for him to lie. And I know why. Because his words created everything. His words uphold everything. And for him to lie, everything would collapse. That piano came from God's word.

>> Well, no, it didn't. It came from the furniture store. Well, where did the furniture store come from? You can trace everything back to the ground in God's word. That's why I'm just confident in God's word. And see, I'm created in God's image and in God's likeness. So, Proverbs 18:21 tells me, "The power of death and life are in the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." You're either going to pervert God's image with words of death, or you're going to celebrate God's image with words of life. But you cannot change God's image in man. You're either going to curse with your words or you're going to bless with your words. You're either going to discourage people with the power of your tongue or you're going to encourage people with the power of your tongue. You're either going to pervert it in sin or celebrate it in righteousness, but you can't change it.

Everybody say, "I love >> I love >> Brother Dwayne." >> Brother, >> it's like a, like a group hug. I needed a hug. >> Did you know you're framing your world right now with the words of your mouth? >> Did you know some of you are called to ministry that's sitting here and you may not make it? And if you make it, your ministry will never be and reach its full potential because you're sitting here sewing bad seeds toward the speakers. You're critical with your words. You're judgmental with your words. You slander. You false falsely accuse, framing your world with the words of your mouth. See, people are so messed up sometimes. I'll make you say, "I love me." I don't do that a lot, but pe, I, I've had people, I've overheard people say, "That guy is so full of himself." And you just having people say they love, I'm having you say that for you, not me.

>> I love you whether you love me or not. And I'm going to be okay whether you, whether you pervert God's image in words or you celebrate God's image in words. I'm teaching you how to celebrate God's image and frame your world with the words of your mouth.

>> Love those God has sent to speak over you the word of God. >> Amen. >> Frame your world with words and positive confessions of love and grace. Let your speech be seasoned with salt >> and with grace. Why? You're created in God's image. And he wants you to frame a world. He wants you to speak positive over your wife. He wants you to, to have words that have creative power. And you say, "Whosoever findeth a wife findeth a good thing and obtains favor of the Lord." Amen.

>> Sue just got tired of me coming home and saying, "Baby, you're a good thing. >> Come on." >> And children of darkness who spawn more children of darkness. I've had a couple of them come up to me and, and say, "I can't believe you would publicly call me a thing." And I've had to correct them in love and say, "No, ma'am. I did not call you a thing. I called you a good thing." [Applause] Hallelujah.

>> And I recognize you're a woman and you're worthy of honor and praise and respect. I would never call you a thing. You're a good thing. >> Come on. >> Y'all are really getting this. I think I can tell by the lack of response. It doesn't get any better. Number five. Oh, number five. This almost is a say I love moment. Uh, number five. Work. Work. Lazy is not in your imagebearers as created in God's image and God's likeness. When we don't work and we can work. Did you hear me say that? Because the children of darkness spawning more children of darkness, they can't hear. So, I always try to be as merciful as I can and say it a few times just to help everybody. If you can work, I'm not talking about somebody who can't work, that's a handicapped person that can't get out of bed or whatever. I made it clear for those who want it to be clear. But if you can work and you don't work, that damages your humanity. See, why, why would I vote for people that want to help people get off of welfare? Why would I never vote for somebody that celebrates welfare? Because I know man is created in the image and in the likeness of God. And if he doesn't work when he can work, he damages his humanity. He becomes less than human. When he doesn't work. Now, since I'm in this environment, I'll make a quick second exception to help clear your head. Uh, well, I'm in school full-time and, and I'm, I, I don't, I'm not working. I think the Bible says, "Study to show yourself approved unto God." A workman. A workman. A workman. A workman. Are you getting it? A workman. A workman that needeth not to be ashamed. It's work what you're doing preparing for your future.

>> And it wouldn't hurt to have a, a, a, a secondary work rhythm in the world. >> But what you're doing is work. And if you're wise, when you get out of here, you'll work harder at it. >> I had to teach my children, school is school work. It's called homework. >> See how bright you are? >> It's work. Genesis chapter 2:2 says that on the seventh day God ceased from all the work that he had done and on the seventh day he rested. God's image in man is work and rest. Work and rest. I don't have time to explain Sabbath and the abuses that Israel did with the Sabbath and misunderstandings we have in the even Protestant stream of of Christianity with issues over the Sabbath. That, that's two or three hours. But God didn't make us for the Sabbath. He made the Sabbath for. And why do we rest? Why do we? And, and young people, listen to me. I, I, I, I've had young people that I've had to help that they believe in the fourth, the fourth commandment. Uh, "Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy." And that's not the commandment. Okay, I got your attention. No. God just before that said, "Six days you will work and on the seventh day you will rest and you will rest the animals. You will rest your staff." I grew up in a generation where Sundays nobody, there were no businesses open because they just had a general concept. Our people need to rest.

>> You work seven days, you damage God's image and you get over into greed. >> Yeah. >> And covetousness and you begin to abuse people. In their days, it was more the animals. God didn't want the animals working six days. He wanted to rest the animals. He loves animals. Do you know God loves? God loved Rat the cat?

>> Are you still with me? God loves the land. >> Do you know God loves the earth? Yeah. >> That's why you and I can't destroy it or save it. >> That's right. >> It belongs to God. >> That's right. >> We're just stewards here. God owns this planet. >> He owns the dirt. >> And he made a deal with the dirt that Jesus is coming back.

>> Amen. >> And I'm going to redeem the dirt. >> Cuz I love the dirt. >> Amen. >> And here's what I want you to do. I want you to plant for six years, but on the seventh day, rest the dirt. And I'm not, listen to me. I'm not trying to be religious. I'm telling you, the land needs to rest because it needs to recuperate the minerals and the nutrients and all the things I put in it that it's serving you for six days. It's given out. It's given out. It serves you for six years. Given out, given out. My image is rest. Rest the land.

>> Amen. >> Amen. >> God works. We work. >> Yeah. >> Why? We're created in God's image. God rested on the seventh day. We rest because that's God's image. See, I need the, I need a Sabbath. I need a day of rest and I need to work really hard six days that represents that's God's image. And then I need a day to worship God and to rest my body and my mind and spiritually now to be focused on the source of the strength of my work.

>> Amen. >> The gifts I have to work. See, man works because of God's image. He'll work hard not to work >> in sin. He'll work hard on how to figure out ways to steal people's fruit of their labor. Soon I got took. We, it humbled us. We got touked by a con. I won't even tell how much money. And, and I had to stop for a minute. Please don't judge me negatively for this. You can judge me righteously, but not negatively. I'll get to that if, if I'll hurry. And I'm not going to make it either. Uh, I admired how hard they worked >> to deceive us >> to get that money. See, everybody works.

>> Why? It's God's image. You'll either pervert it in sin and darkness in Adam or you'll celebrate it in righteousness and in Christ. And you will work to get to give.

>> Amen. >> Those who pervert God's image will work to take. >> They're called politicians. Those people work hard to steal your money. >> That's right. You wouldn't believe the hours they put in on how to deceive you, on how to manipulate you. They work hard >> to steal all the fruit and labor of your work. But everybody's working. I'm working to give. They're working to take. You can pervert it or you can celebrate it, but you can't change it.

>> Why? It's God's image. It's God's likeness. And without Jesus, we're all broken. God's image gets skewed and fractured. And if we stay in that broken condition long enough, it gets perverted. But it can't be changed. Have you ever thought about now as a pastor? I'm not a pastor now. I travel all over. And, but in pastoring, 1 Thessalonians, write it down. Uh, they're so good. 1 Thessalonians chapter 3, I think it's verse 10 and 11. I was so impressed with them last service. That doesn't look right. Go to the next one. Yeah. Yeah. Go to the next one. All right. Go to the next one. All right. Go back to Genesis. Maybe it's second Thessalonians. Somewhere in the Bible it is written. Ah, there it is. Cuz people think I make this stuff up. I'll have people leave a service and go, you know, his opinions are really strange. I just read it to you right out of the Bible. That's not my opinion.

>> Yeah. >> Look at that. I hear that some walk among you disorderly in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busy bodies.

>> Go on. Go now. Those who are such, we command, not suggest, we command and exhort through Jesus. That's not their opinion. It wasn't Paul's opinion. He said, "I'm commanding you this from Jesus." That they work in quietness and eat their own bread. And then he goes on to say, I may have missed it. May have been a verse before, but he says those that don't work >> won't eat, shouldn't eat.

>> I guarantee you a child of darkness, they're in the media, children of darkness, they have seeds of darkness that they're sewing into our young people, professors that are children of darkness. All these places of darkness, the minute they hear me say, "If you don't work, you shouldn't eat." What a mean person. How hateful can you be? He's probably a Nazi. By the way, why does the devil say that lie? Because you can't murder till you believe a lie.

>> You can't murder till you hate. >> That's how Charlie Kirk got killed. And I don't have time to tell you God's image and holiness, but the people that killed him and wanted him killed thought they were righteous. Thought they were moral. They thought their morality was superior to mine and to God's.

>> They didn't do it in the name of evil. He's a Nazi. What do we do with Nazis? What's the right thing? What's a good thing? Kill them. And the children of darkness celebrated before he got in his grave.

>> That's right. That's God's image perverted. >> That's self-righteousness and false holiness. >> He's so mean telling people if they don't work, they shouldn't eat. Are you still out there?

>> No. I love people so much and I love and embrace the truth so dearly that I want to get over to them that work is God's image in you. And if you don't work, you destroy your humanity.

>> Yeah, but he's so insensitive. There's people sitting out there without a job and he just condemned them. Be so mean. How many of you know you have to work to find a job? What is wrong with us? You'd be surprised how dark the church has become in ignorance and innocence. And I'm just coming along and kicking that darkness out >> and bringing you to the light >> so that you can realize there's no such thing as secular work.

>> There's no such thing as what I do is spiritual, what you do is secular. No. The Bible says that everything you say and do, do it unto the Lord. Work is our worship of God. Work is our celebrating God's image. And none of that can ever be secular. I don't care where you work or what you set your hands to. The minute you put your hands to it, it becomes holy. It becomes spiritual. And it becomes something God is going to use to glorify himself in the earth. You're serving. You're serving your community in work. You're serving your family in a paycheck from working and putting food on the table. You're serving the community for good. If everybody in the community quit working, what would happen? Our humanity would be diminished and we would steal from one another. Chaos would break out.

>> Number six out of the top 10. >> Uhoh. This will not go as well as it could. Go to John chapter 7. John chapter 7 verse 20. John 7 verse 24. The next image of God is judge. Judge. Isaiah 33:22 says, "The Lord our God is judge, lawgiver." What's Satan's title? The lawless one. God's title is judge, lawgiver, and king. That's where we get our three branches of government that was established on Judeo-Christian principles by some awesome forefathers that were flawed, but were awesome men.

>> Yes. >> And believed, all of them believed in a creator. They might not have had faith in Jesus like we have. And they were flawed just like you're flawed, but they were awesome to give us this representative republic.

>> So God is judge, lawgiver, and king.

>> I will say some things. I've said some things today. I don't think I've said anything controversial yet. I, I'm running out of time. If you give me time, I'll get there. But I don't think I've said anything controversial.

>> Right? But in another setting, I guarantee you, if I don't walk out that back door, I will be hit up by somebody with righteous indignation. They'll believe they're holy cuz God's image is perverted. Remember, Satan didn't get kicked out of heaven because he said, "I want to be the devil." No, he was Lucifer, a created image. He didn't wake up one day and go, "I want to be the devil. I want to be the best pimp ever. I want to be a rapist. I want to be the best drug dealer ever. I want to be a serial killer." No. Isaiah said in Isaiah 14:14, the devil said, "I will ascend above the clouds and I will be like the most high God." Well, what's God like? He's holy. So, the devil believes his holiness, eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and not the tree of the cross. The devil believes his holiness is holier than God's. See, the devil loves and the devil loves everybody. And God, bless his heart. He says that sexual activity is not love. It's an abomination.

>> But the devil calls evil >> and light. The devil always and his children of darkness believe they're holy and they're righteous. See, the devil tried to seize God's image that God gave you and me and he hates God to this day and he hates you because you're an image bearer and he wanted to be an image bearer and he never will be an image bearer of God. So he comes as an angel of light and Paul said, ' Don't be surprised if all of his if his ministers on NBC and CBS and our college campuses, don't be surprised if all of his ministers claim to be ministers of righteousness.
