Transiting Mercury to natal Saturn

Truth In Aspect Astrology/ Jewel38:18

Transcription

Yes, Mercury Jupiter. Last time, so we go from the optimism of Mercury Jupiter to the pessimism Mercury Saturn. So we know Jupiter can make us sloppy, can make us overdue. Saturn is the opposite force of contraction, and uh, we will underdo. Um, so rather than things being overcooked or overinflated, they are more shrunken to fit the uh, current state, things, the reality, things.

So Mercury becomes serious, is uh, is is directed towards what is um, serious, spinal, or grounded. Um, you know, these are not rip-roaring party days, but we certainly can be more effective when it comes to how we direct our thinking, planning, what problems we choose to focus on. Uh, we're not a chatty cat. When we have any of the transits from Mercury to Saturn, uh, just, just the nature of it is that things are more narrow-focused and decidedly less curious. Can't get enough of, uh, enough input with Mercury Jupiter transits. Uh, Mercury Saturn, we can become easily overwhelmed.

So with the conjunction, this is a timer for something or somebody exiting our life. Does it mean that every time we have transiting Mercury conjunct to Saturn that we will have an ending? But it is very common to have that be a thing. Depends on what we've already got going on, but it is something that we take seriously. And, and this finality, this endings, exit, uh, ending of a relationship, ending of, um, a situation or condition. Very often it's a person. Uh, it's something that we will take seriously and consider and think about for a longer period of time.

So it's easy for us to see the separation between things with the conjunction, with all the transits between Mercury and Saturn. So weird this angle, they pull in my neck. Um, it's easy to see what the differences are between things, and exclusion is, um, helpful when it comes to us being able to say no to one or more things in order to focus or specialize on something else. So we begin a new cycle of hopefully finishing projects when we have this conjunction, and completion to, uh, necessary projects. We are looking for what is wrong, what is flawed, what is out of place when we have the conjunction to see. And we might point out where others might be wrong. Uh, we others might be wrong. We can be focused on again, flaw, what is out of place, and we will speak up and point out what is, uh, not making sense, where our arguments may be overemployed, where we may have wrong facts. Well, our sense of Saturn earned information, earned experience, and we can be, you know, looking at what we've been through, what we know is a result of experience, and saying, "I know that that's what all the books say, but this is what I think are never to be true," or pointing out, um, you know, sources that are more, um, accurate or a pain in the ass when it comes to not letting us or other people get away with, uh, arguments.

You know, what I'm starting to worry about Yan. He hasn't been showing up lately. I had a dream about him last night. Sent him a message when we're done here. Speak. Um, so, oh, he's probably all right. We, we got out of, um, routine, and, uh, he has to tune into these classes like at, like some ridiculous ungodly hour. So maybe that he's been getting sleep lately, but I'll catch up with him. Um, he just popped into my head. Sorry, which is not the, that is not a Mercury Saturn thing. What I just did, one thing to another, that was like a Mercury in conjunct Uranus thing. I just did unrelated, and I were just talking about that in conjunction. Um, so there is a, uh, a sharpness that, uh, uh, can keep us on track, keep others on track, and we do not waste time. We do not want to waste time when we have these transits, any of these transits, especially the Mercury Saturn conjunction. This is a week that can really be marked by the feeling of, "I really need to get on track and get this done." There's only so much time, there's only so many resources, there's so many, so there's only so many days in the year and hours in the day. Uh, so we're precise. Um, yeah, precise, effective, and a stick in the mud. This is a good one if you want to, um, come to a definite conclusion about something. This is a good one to put on your calendar.

All right, that brings us to the sextile. I have neglected to look at my notes, so let me look over this. So we know that sextiles are about opportunities. We know that they are about community involvement, that they are about, uh, assistance, inviting multiplicity. They're of the third house and Gemini sex. So input is very important to us when we have, uh, these transits. We are open to information that can be useful, helpful, not necessarily optimistic or information that, uh, we're looking for because it makes us feel good or adds, um, you know, levity or happiness or something. We just want to know the truth. And we've got the sextile, and, um, we aren't, uh, really attracted to the details or reasons that really aren't a part of the baseline of things. We just want to cut the crap. With the sextiles, this is actually a really good one to have in your needles. So we are, um, very effective at giving presentations, sharing information. We're not mincing words, not wasting words, not wasting time. We are really, um, giving the best bullet points, um, under the sextile. So we are good, however, uh, including details that matter. The sextiles are really about, uh, detail, little things, the things that we include. We don't cut corners with sextiles. We're looking at that at, uh, 45-degree angles. Cut corners, 45-degree angle. So, um, sorry, semi-square, and then we come to a, uh, better way of handling things or solving problems. We include details. We include the corners with the sextile that we cut out with the semi-square. So, uh, we learn our lesson in terms of inclusion, what needs to be included, how we can come to, how we can build a better product or machine. Um, so with the sextiles, uh, these are also days when we aren't, um, as concerned with conflict. Figured that in there. We aren't as in as concerned of conflict with sextiles. We do want to solve problems, always with all sextiles between all planets, and we're good problem solvers. This is the gift of sextiles, and I think it's the inclusion that gives us that edge that we're, we're asking for input. We aren't assuming we have the answers. We aren't assuming that others are against us. The assumption is that others do want to contribute and do want to help. That's the frequency. So we invite that cooperation. Intensely cooperative aspects.

So that brings us to the square between Mercury and Saturn. Jump up real quick and up my coffee. Let's just take one minute here. Takes one minute. E. All right. So we know that squares always imply conflict. There's something that has to be worked out between inner and outer. Something I need to point out more, um, about squares that the, yeah, the conflict from between where we've come and the internal coping mechanisms or internal beliefs, internal state, that has to come into some kind of agreement or alignment or be able to work with what is or what we want. So we are able to, you come to some kind of agreement between where we've been and where we're going when it comes to this. It doesn't come easy. It's something that we have to work on. We have to, um, we have to process it, but it is a week that we're really working. Not these are not, they don't have to be giant problems. It doesn't have to be where we're like, "Oh my God, I I've never had an orgasm," and this is the week where I have to really focus on that. It, it, it's something that is more a timer for more significant or background things. So we can come to some resolution here. It may be that we have some surface or, uh, con more inconsequential problems that we can find resolution to, but this is actually a transit that does inspire deep thinking. It does inspire introspection. And because Saturn is time, Mercury is every day time, the minutes and the hours of the day, and Saturn is divine timing, is life timing, it's what happens more of the course of the long term. So that's where the rubber meets the road, as we say in America, and we have to get serious about something. Um, so we can take ourselves to task, take others to task as well when we have this particular transit, and we may make some hard choices too. This can be very helpful, the square, for putting us in a position where we're like, "I have to choose. I have to decide. Something has to be done." And we may not like what occurs under the square, but it can be good for us anyway. It makes us, or get off the pot. This particular week, um, we are looking at what could go wrong. We are looking at what's negative. Uh, we're plugging some holes when it comes to our business, um, gaps in how we discipline ourselves and our daily life. Uh, we might even get some bad news when we have the square, and we have to to figure out how to heart solve this issue. We could come up short somehow. So there's some amount of pressure that makes us, uh, yeah, have to really deal with things in short order as they are. Okay, so details, uh, we don't necessarily want to deal with, but we will.

So that brings us to the Trine. Jewel, sorry, can I just ask a question about that? Um, when you say that, um, you know, you have to come to an agreement on where you've been and where you're going, what do you mean by that? Can you give an example? Well, where we come from, so what we're prepared for by life, by our parents, by, um, our experiences, and then what is the goal? Where is it that we want to go? What is it that we want to build or do? So if I, my, if my goal is to build a computer, then I would really have to look at, "Wow, I have very limited knowledge and experience, um, when it comes to being able to meet that goal. I'm gonna have to really do what it takes to fill in the gaps when it comes to figuring out, you know, because I'm unprepared for this, uh, by where I come from." You have to figure out exactly what to do or say. Uh, there is a, a problem in a relationship, like a communication problem, and we know that the goal is to be clear, the goal is, you know, for agreement, uh, you know, good clear communication. But there's a part of us that's not prepared for that. Maybe we're a little bit avoidant, and we have to figure out how exactly, uh, we're going to work through some of those issues that we're bringing into the situation, condition, or relationship. So it's the nature of squares in general. Does that make more sense? Yes, it does. It just made me think, can I just clarify if this is correct or not? But it was, it's making me think of, um, you know, when you were looking at Steven Seagal's chart and then, um, you know, he had Mercury Square Saturn, and then, you know, you thought that he might have not been very bright because his Mercury was also in Aries, so a little bit meathead. So then would you say that that is, that's also how it works in the natal chart? That there are some things that might lead a person to be perceived as not very bright because there are certain things that you need to be prepared for to get what you want, and maybe if you have the square, that you're unwilling or unprepared? Yeah, the S natal, uh, oh, sorry, you froze. Are we back? Yes, yes, you're back. You did the weird computer voice there for a second where it gets all pixelated. Um, yeah, in the natal chart, we feel mentally, uh, vastly unprepared with the hard aspects for Mercury to Saturn for, uh, most things that require precision or structure or analysis or, uh, precise arrangement of things. We feel stupid with those difficult aspects between Mercury to Saturn. A lot of people, um, they, they will give into that and they will avoid higher education or higher learning. But there are others, especially if we have other aspects involved, that, yeah, they do feel like they are behind the tide or the crowd. Usually, we can start out with some amount of learning disabilities or, um, challenges. But a lot of people, I say most people with the hard aspects between Mercury and Saturn are actually sharper, are actually smarter because they do feel like they have to work harder at things. They, um, they focus more, they've taken it more seriously. Um, so they can actually be, you know, very, very capable and sharp and smart. Uh-huh. Um, if they don't go down the road of avoidance altogether and just write. And I guess that would depend on, um, aspects of things and other things. Okay. Interest. Yeah. So people just give into that inertia, the the difficulty between that square because, um, early childhood education is very hard. It's usually harder to access opportunities, uh, to higher education, general. Whereas if we have the Mercury Jupiter stuff, that is pretty gifted, pretty easy, comes to us, falls in our lap. Um, yeah, so people will give into that square, and other people, you know, they'll push through it. They're like, you know, "I feel I'm a mental impostor, but I really want to get this and I want to achieve, and, you know, maybe I will always feel a little bit stupid," but that doesn't mean that's true. Yeah, doesn't that's born out in reality. Interesting. All right, thank you, Jewel. Got it.

So that brings us to the Trine. When we are, um, very prone to organization and analysis, it's easy for us to stick with things, um, because I think there's an enthusiasm that comes with the Trine. It's not such a, like with the square, we wake up, we're like, "I got to do this." With the Trine, it's more like, "Yeah, I get to do this." Um, sorry, that giant bee is back. Just give him a minute. Don't want to anger him. It's like a Sun Mars dude that shows up. Sun Mars Square dude. Show no, in conjunction. Sun Mars in conjunction. There must be bees. You never know when they're going to sting. So there's a, um, invitation towards, uh, organization. Uh, we're excited about getting things in place. Now, we are more narrow, more focused, more precise, um, but it, it doesn't come with the feeling of "have to." I think it's just, yeah, it makes it easier. Uh, we are not focused on tomorrow in a way that makes us a dreamer with the Trine. We are focused on today, but that isn't service to tomorrow. But so we have the, the bigger idea, we have the goal, but we know that we can't get there unless we take a practical step more in the moment. So that's what we're looking at, that's what we're focusing on. Um, not so much asking the big questions about life. Uh, we can often do that with Trines. We can be very philosophical. Trines are of the ninth house and Jupiter, after all, Sagittarius. But, um, I think with the Trine between these two, our focus and our acceptance of what is to come because we have a broader view than we do with sextiles. Very similar, very similar, but it's like we're standing higher. See, sextiles, we're more standing within our community. It's a territorial view, but we're standing higher with a Trine. This is of the ninth house in Sagittarius. We have, we're, we're halfway up the mountain. So where we may live in the city, city in the valley with sextiles, with the third house stuff, we live more on the side of the mountain. We're looking from the side of that. We're not at the top of the mountain. That's Capricorn. That's Saturn. So we have this, this mix here, you see, of Saturn, which is the peak, and a broader view. We can be extremely effective when it comes to solving problems, coming to conclusions, with seeing where we need to go when we have this Trine. It's also a wonderful gift to have in the natal chart, because we can be a practical thinker, but that doesn't obscure or collapse our vision. It's in service to our vision. And way have the Trine, um, we're not mining words, we're not wasting time, we're not wasting conversation, but it, it isn't like we're so abrupt like we are with the square. We, we're like, "I just don't have time for that. Just give me the facts." With the Trine, we are, um, I think able to more effectively, uh, yeah, more effectively focus without being so, what is the word, so so abrupt or or or even rude. We can be a bit rude with the square, even the conjunction. We can be a bit rude, or the opposition between Mercury and Saturn because again, we're like, "Don't give me anything extra." With the easy aspects, I, I think that we're have tolerance that is there, and we, we're not getting wrapped up in reacting to what might be extra. We're wasting energy on pushing away what might be extra. I think we're just not focused on it, so it makes it shrink where we're looking. With squares or the conjunction, maybe something we're consciously pushing away, saying, "Take that off my plate." We're saying no, specifically with the hard aspects. Uh, so we are paying attention to to detail. We are very critical, um, but we're not short with the Trine. This would be a good one to have a family discussion with the Trine because we do have less of a focus on, uh, judgment or being caught up in what is abstract, but we do want to get down to business and find solution. We are not focused on the positive side of things. Our thinking does go more towards what could go wrong, what is likely to give us a bit of trouble.

Sorry, Jewel, did you move on to the opposition now? I'm assuming yes. Oh, sorry, because you, you froze. Just wanted to clarify. Opposition, um, this is one where we're focused on what's negative and what could go wrong. There can be separations. We don't really see that so much with the square. We do with the conjunction. We do with the opposition. This is when we can say goodbye to something. We can sever ourselves from something. Jobs, situation, conditions, um, classes we may have been taking, community involvement, friends, relationships, whatever it might be. It isn't specific what might end because this is communication, this is conversations. At the conjunction, the opposition, that are, um, serious and often consequential and can have a permanent ending or a permanent, uh, re, new boundaries being drawn. Even think that's more common with the opposition than it is with the conjunction. With the conjunct, the conjunction can be an outright end of a cycle that might happen with the opposition too, but we may draw new agreements, boundaries, we may renegotiate under the opposition. Uh, we are more critical, but it is important that we don't just voice that we do our part to fix or address what it is that we're criticizing. No, that doesn't mean that we like are sitting and watching a talking head on the news and we're like, "Oh, a person's such an idiot," and then we have to like get up and run for office so we can solve that issue ourselves. It's more like whatever it is that actually is meaningful to us and we choose to, uh, have an opinion about it, criticize it. It's like the people around us will be like, "Well, I'm not the only one here," or "Well, okay, nice to want that, put up or shut up." So we don't have a right to just state what's wrong and criticize things and then just sit there and wait for it to fix itself. Um, and I think we get that message with this opposition, that, you know, if we want something to be solved, then we better do something about it. We play a part in it. That's what oppositions mean. What is our part in something? Do we understand that the reactions that we're seeing in others have something to do with the action that we are taking? Those reactions come at us, uh, with oppositions in such a way that we can starkly see it. It is overt are covert conjunctions. So the overt reactions that we see in others, usually as a result of what we said to them, or what we criticized, or what we've seen is wrong, or how we spotted a block. H that gives us a sense of, "All right, well, oh, maybe I better get down to business and having solving my part in us." Um, there is a burden of solving that we accept, hopefully, uh, under the opposition, and we always have the choice to double down with oppositions and to not get the memo, and people may decide that we are uncooperative if we do that, and it will usually be at the square, and we will see the furtherance of story related to that or the consequences of it. Uh, yeah, so we may be seen as somebody, if we're not graceful about handling this week in our life, we may be seen as somebody that's like, "Yeah, they're really a know-it-all, but they're not really willing to do what it takes to know things." So we can be, you know, acting like a stupid dumbass when it comes to not, big enough to be willing to to solve problems or admit we we're an idiot. But I think a lot of us, uh, we will make some amount of gains when it comes to doing the hard work of solving problems. We do pick up that task. That's what this transit is for, is to make us see that if we want a solution, we better get to work. Now we're taking that on with the conjunction, without the reflection from another. With the opposition, it's usually this, this realization. We'll say something, we'll do something, and somebody will look at us all a k like, "Oh, well, is that what you think should be done?" And then we will have to do something. But I think with the conjunction, we are just taking things on more proactively without, uh, uh, some kind of conflict pushing us in that direction. Okay, so I think that's all I've got for today. Do I have any questions about?
