Have you made your travel plans for 2026? Many of you might be feeling lost about where to go. For me, it's not easy to take time off for travel while working, so I find myself 고민ing every time about when and where to go. If you start considering everything from flight prices to weather and festival schedules one by one, it only gets more complicated, and sometimes you end up just planning without ever going. Have you had a similar experience? So, we've prepared this. From January to December 2026, we've selected overseas travel destinations that best suit each month and briefly summarized the weather, atmosphere, and costs. Especially for busy office workers or those new to travel, we've only included places with direct flights and not too high travel difficulty, so you can travel without feeling burdened. Also, in the pinned comment below, we've included an essential overseas travel checklist that you'll need before departing, so please be sure to check it out. This video will make your travel plans for this year much easier. Shall we start with the January travel destination?
When you're tired of the cold winter, Bangkok comes to mind with its warm sunshine. Streets always full of energy. Boats gently flowing along the Chao Phraya River. Even the Grand Palace sparkles more at night. It's a city with culture, sights, and food. Especially in January, it's Bangkok's dry season, so it's the most pleasant time to visit, with less humidity and less intense heat. You can also enjoy plenty of authentic Thai dishes you've always wanted to try, like Pad Thai, Khao Niao Mamuang, and Kuay Tiew. Flights start from around 300,000 won, and there are direct flights, so you can travel without much burden.
If you want to feel a calm and romantic winter with quiet hot springs, Hokkaido in January is perfect. Sapporo's Beer Museum, Otaru where you can walk along the canal. And on a snowy night, end the day with a warm hot pot at an izakaya. The Susukino street has many shops open late, so even travel beginners can stay without worry. Direct flights are about 5 hours, making it an easy winter travel destination to visit comfortably.
In February, the long winter continues. Your body still feels cold, and your mind increasingly drifts to warmer places. February is a time when flight prices rise due to the Lunar New Year holiday. If possible, try to avoid this period, and if that's difficult, you need to choose a healing travel destination that won't feel like a waste of money. Nha Trang, with its sunny beaches and quiet alleys, and warm breezes, is a particularly attractive city in February. During this period, the weather is clear and sunny, and the sea is calm, creating a healing atmosphere just by being there. There are plenty of things to enjoy, such as Po Nagar Cham Towers, mud baths, and VinWonders, as well as delicious food like fresh seafood barbecue and Vietnamese coffee. The flight time is about 5 hours. Direct flights are available, and the cost of living is low, making it a good place to travel without burden.
When some people are bundled up in parkas, I want to be in a t-shirt walking along the beach. In that case, let's go to Guam. It's about 4.5 hours by plane, not too far, and summer sunshine and the sea await you. June is also the best weather period in Guam, with temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius, not too hot, and the humidity is just right for a comfortable summer. During the day, you can go snorkeling at Tumon Beach, take a leisurely nap under a palm tree, and in the evening, enjoy shopping and exploring restaurants, filling your day with activities. Direct flights are available, and for those who want to relax comfortably with a relatively short flight time, Guam in February is a good choice.
March. Winter is passing, but spring hasn't fully arrived yet. As the wind gets slightly warmer, the desire to travel somewhere grows. Now is the perfect time to go to a destination where you can feel spring a step ahead. The weather in Da Nang in March is really good. The sky is clear, the sea is calm, and the sunshine is warm, giving you the feeling of welcoming spring a step ahead. You can take a walk along the beach in the afternoon, admire the fairy-tale scenery in Ba Na Hills in the afternoon, and end the day by enjoying the Dragon Bridge fire show and local food at the night market. It's a city that is not flashy but has a quiet and comfortable atmosphere, and its simple food like Banh Xeo is charming. Also, it's called the "Gangnam of Da Nang" because there are so many Korean tourists, so even travel beginners can visit without burden.
A travel destination where you can rest comfortably, that's Kota Kinabalu in March. It's about 5 hours by plane, direct flights are available, and March is the end of the dry season, so the weather is clear and good for activities. Marine activities like snorkeling. Firefly tours at night. And above all, Kota Kinabalu is famous for its sunsets. Just looking at the sky and sea ablaze with color will melt away your travel fatigue. There's plenty of food like fresh seafood and tropical fruits, and the cost is not high, so it's the perfect place if you want to truly relax in March.
April. True spring begins. The sunshine is soft, the wind is warm, and flowers start to bloom everywhere. This month, we've chosen two cities where spring blooms most beautifully. Kyoto in April is a time when the entire city is dyed in light pink cherry blossoms. At Kinkaku-ji, the Philosopher's Path, and Arashiyama, cherry blossom petals flutter on every street, and time feels like it's flowing slowly. Enjoying a cup of matcha at a tea house, browsing for unique Kyoto souvenirs in small shops are simple pleasures. It's a destination where just walking slowly without a complicated itinerary is enough. Kyoto is also a stress-free destination for your first trip to Japan. If you want a spring trip full of emotion in April, Kyoto is perfect.
This time, let's go a little further to Europe. In April, Paris is a time when the air, sunshine, and people's expressions all become softer. Walking along the Seine River, passing by the flowers blooming in the Luxembourg Gardens, and resting on the lawn in front of the Eiffel Tower, everywhere you walk, you feel the presence of spring. Paris is a city where travel naturally unfolds even without many plans. Visiting a museum, buying a baguette from a bakery in an alley, and spending time slowly at a cafe. If you're thinking of a romantic European spring trip in April, Paris is a truly wonderful choice.
May. The threshold of early summer, the sunshine seeps into your face, and cities regain their vitality. This month, we'll introduce two European cities where ancient culture and urban sensibility coexist. In Rome in May, wherever you walk, the scenery is picturesque, and the traces of ancient Rome are still alive. The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, the Vatican – with every step, you'll encounter magnificent ruins and sun-drenched alleys. During the day, leisurely stroll through the city, enjoying pizza, gelato, and espresso. Walking tours are also possible, making it a stress-free destination for your first trip. If you want a more vibrant atmosphere, Barcelona in May is perfect. During the day, there are street performances and sunny cafes, and in the evening, tapas, wine, and outdoor restaurants – the entire city flows with a rhythmic sense like music. Barceloneta Beach is an unmissable spot in Barcelona. Enjoy a walk along the sea and a leisurely plate of paella and a glass of sangria at a beach restaurant. If you want to enjoy both city travel and beach relaxation at once, there are few cities as perfect as Barcelona.
The sunshine is getting stronger, but it's not yet the peak vacation season. June is a time when the weather is good and there are fewer people, making it perhaps the best time to travel. This month, we'll head to cities with two charms: relaxation and history. Bali in June is in its dry season, so the weather is really good. The sunshine is warm but not humid, and the sea is calm, making it the perfect season to spend time by the sea. The quiet atmosphere of Seminyak Beach. Yoga and massage in a secluded jungle. It's a place where you learn to simply relax, not just see tourist attractions. Although prices have risen slightly recently, if you choose accommodation and areas that fit your budget, you can have a highly satisfying trip. It's about 6 hours by plane, with direct flights from Incheon, and it's a destination that suits everything from honeymoons to solo healing trips.
Athens in June has strong sunshine but is not humid, making it good for activities. Moreover, it's before the peak European season, so both the city and tourist attractions are relatively relaxed. Climbing the Acropolis hill to see ancient temples, browsing through alleys with traditional Greek food and souvenir shops, you'll feel that it's a city where history and daily life naturally blend. If you have a day or two to spare, you can connect it with a relaxing trip to Santorini. Direct flights are also available from Incheon, making it a stress-free choice for those traveling to Europe for the first time.
July. The rainy season ends, and summer officially begins. The sky is clear, and the sunshine is bright. We'll introduce travel destinations you can only experience now. Mongolia in July is when the grasslands, deserts, and mountains come alive with the true summer scenery. This is the golden season for traveling in Mongolia, with cool temperatures around 20 to 25 degrees Celsius during the day and a sky full of stars at night. Especially in July, Mongolia's largest traditional festival, the Naadam Festival, is held. You can watch folk games like horse racing, archery, and wrestling, and experience the local culture up close for an unforgettable trip. Spend a night in a ger outside the city and experience a day in nature. It's a summer travel destination that offers quiet and deep emotions. Direct flights from Incheon to Ulaanbaatar take about 3.5 hours, so it's not a burden.
Okinawa in July is the hottest time of the year, but that means you can see the most vibrant sea. After the rainy season ends in June, the sky clears, and an emerald sea unfolds. There are various attractions like Shuri Castle, American Village, and Churaumi Aquarium, as well as plenty of sea-focused activities like snorkeling, diving, and beach walks. It's about 2.5 hours by plane, with direct flights from Incheon, making it a perfect travel destination to enjoy your summer vacation.
August. The real summer vacation season when the whole world is on the move. Everywhere is crowded and hot. During this time, we'll introduce two places that are far away but promise definite satisfaction. In Istanbul in August, temperatures rise to around 30 degrees Celsius, but the low humidity makes it less stuffy, and outdoor activities are fully possible. Visiting landmarks like Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque makes you feel like you're walking through thousands of years of history. Enjoy a leisurely time on a cruise along the Bosphorus Strait, with Turkish coffee and fragrant tea at the Grand Bazaar. Direct flights from Incheon take about 11 hours. Even during the peak summer season, the relatively reasonable prices compared to other European cities are an advantage.
If the hot weather is a concern, how about going to Sydney in the Southern Hemisphere's winter? In August, Sydney has a cool winter weather with temperatures around 16 to 18 degrees Celsius, where a cardigan is enough. The combination of nature and city, including the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach, and Port Stephens, is also attractive. Transportation, language, and everything are convenient, making it a stress-free travel destination for beginners. For those who miss the cool breeze instead of the hot sun, Sydney in August can be the best alternative.
September. A short but precious break in a busy daily life, and the Chuseok holiday. You can take a short trip of 3-4 days, or you can take some time off and go a little further. It's a city where you can get a definite travel feeling as soon as you arrive, about 2.5 hours by plane. Taipei is a destination with high satisfaction even on a short itinerary, from food like Din Tai Fung and mango shaved ice to small attractions like Jiufen and the old street train. In September, it's still hot and humid, but the entire city is vibrant, and you can feel the liveliness in every alley, which adds to the travel atmosphere. It will be a safe and fun choice for those who are traveling abroad for the first time or find planning burdensome. If you have more time, Portugal at the end of Europe is also a good choice. Lisbon and Porto, nestled on hills and slopes, are places where every alley of the city is filled with emotion and individuality. The scenery outside the window includes old tiled buildings, small artisan shops, and yellow trams passing by. You feel like you're immersing yourself in the rhythm of the city as you walk. If you're looking for a memorable trip this year that's not flashy, Portugal in September is perfect.
October. The heat has subsided, and you don't need thick outerwear yet. In this season, when the cool breeze is perfect for traveling, we'll introduce two cities that are great for walking. It's about 2.5 hours by plane. It's a familiar city, but Tokyo in October is a little different. With warm sunshine and a cool breeze, walking along Ueno Park or the Meguro River, you can naturally feel the change of seasons. From fashion to shopping, and with the addition of Halloween atmosphere in October, it's a city where the line between daily life and travel naturally blurs. It's also a stress-free choice for office workers or travel beginners, as it's sufficient for a short leave or weekend trip.
If you were to choose a city in Europe that best suits autumn, it would be Prague, Czech Republic. Walking from the Old Town Square to Charles Bridge, the autumn foliage of yellow and red trees and the ancient buildings create a fairy-tale-like feeling. Every photo you take looks like a postcard. It's a city where you can enjoy yourself by walking slowly without a complicated plan, so it's especially recommended for those who want to feel a quiet European autumn.
November. As winter approaches, if you want to take a break for both body and mind, we recommend two travel destinations with completely different styles. Cancun in November is entering its dry season. The sunshine is hot, and there's little rain, so you can fully enjoy the Caribbean's blue sea and white beaches. In particular, with well-equipped all-inclusive resorts, you can experience true relaxation by eating, sleeping, and resting in one place without a complicated itinerary. It's also popular as a honeymoon destination, as you can enjoy ancient Mayan ruins and marine activities together. Although the flight time is long, you can spend a special time.
Chiang Mai, a city in northern Thailand, enters its dry season from November, with clear and cool weather. The streets are a blend of temples and markets, with light healing treks, and this time, Thailand's largest festival, Yi Peng, is also held. The flight time is about 5 hours, and direct flights are available, making it a perfect travel destination for those who want to recharge in a quiet atmosphere.
December. At the end of the year, everyone wants to go on a special trip. We'll introduce two travel destinations with completely different styles: feeling the year-end atmosphere in a sparkling city or resting leisurely on a warm island. Hong Kong in December is a city full of year-end atmosphere. Streets adorned with Christmas decorations, the full-blown year-end sale season, from shopping to night views and gourmet food, your travel itinerary will be packed. The temperature is around 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, so it's warm, and you can move around comfortably without a thick coat. If you want a light year-end trip, Hong Kong is always a fail-safe choice.
If you want to give yourself a gift-like trip at the end of the year, the Maldives is perfect. The flight time is long and complicated, but the moment you arrive, all your efforts will be forgotten by its beauty. December is the beginning of the dry season, so the weather is clear and the sea is calm, making it ideal for snorkeling and diving. Sunrise over the sea in the morning, relaxation in the afternoon, and a cocktail under the sunset in the evening. It's perfect relaxation where time flows slowly. However, as it's the peak season at the end of the year, we recommend booking before mid-month.
Thus, we've looked at the recommended overseas travel destinations for each month from January to December 2026. I would be very happy if this was even a little helpful for your travel plans. Of course, there are many more wonderful countries in the world that we haven't introduced, but this list focuses on places with direct flights that are easy for travel beginners to visit. We've also organized them so you can choose based on your style, introducing nearby and far-away countries one by one. Also, when choosing a destination based on weather or festival schedules, flight prices or local costs might seem a bit high. However, the places introduced today are good to visit anytime, so if you avoid the peak season, you can travel much more affordably. In the video and pinned comment, we've also organized an essential checklist that you should always check, so please refer to it when making your plans. I hope you take a trip that feels like a gift to yourself this year in 2026. If you found this video helpful, please give it a like, subscribe, and turn on notifications. If we share our travel stories, perhaps new travels will begin. Then, I'll be back with another travel story. Have a safe and happy trip, and happy new year.
