We have communion, the Lord's purpose. Actually, for the communion of the Lord's Supper, is to demonstrate and strengthen the unity of His people in one body. But of course, during this time, the Apostle Paul had to call the attention of the church in Corinth, where he had to rebuke them because, instead of uniting, the Apostle Paul said that instead of uniting, there was division inside the church of Corinth. Instead of strengthening the band among the brethren, they are breaking it, disrespecting each other.
God desires that through our observance of communion, as we His people, will understand that our lives belong to Him and it is supposed to be given completely to Him. And not only to Him, but to one another. Honoring one another, loving one another, respecting one another, and forgiving one another.
Among pastors, so I think this is not the will of God. God's will is to unite the Body of Christ, not division inside the church. Amen. That's the band that God wants us to have, especially during communion. And it should remind us that every time we partake communion, this is the heart of the Father to make us one. Unity. Communion comes from the thought: Unity, community. Amen. To commune, to be one mind, to be one heart, to be one purpose, to be one reason. That in everything that God has said in His word, all we have to do is say, "God, yes." I agree that we are saying to the Lord in everything. We have to say, "Yes, Lord," for You, Lord. So when the Apostle Paul said this in verse 27 of First Corinthians, "So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. Everyone ought to examine themselves, therefore, before they eat the bread and drink from the cup." So let's just take a few moments for now and search our hearts. If there is anything in our hearts that you know is not pleasing to the Lord, just bow down your heads, close your eyes, come before Him and repent and say, "God, forgive me. Forgive me, God, for the way that I have been living my life in neglect of Your will, Your purpose. Forgive me, Lord, for the words that I said that somehow offended someone. God, forgive me for my actions. God, forgive me for not pursuing You. God, forgive me for not making You my priority. God, forgive me for not using my life to serve You and not using my resources to honor You. Forgive me, Lord."
Lord, You gave up all so I may have all. You died so I may have life. You were forsaken so I may be accepted. So God, today, as we come to partake of this communion, we repent of every sin and let You cleanse us. God, I pray, forgive us. Thank You that You are the God of mercy. Thank You that You are the God of forgiveness. Thank You, Lord.
The Apostle Paul in First Corinthians chapter 11 verse 23, let's raise the bread. "For I received from the Lord what I also pass on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, 'This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.'" Let's partake of the bread.
Thank you. Let's raise the cup. "In the same way after supper he took the cup, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.' For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes." Let's partake of the cup.
Amen. Amen. Praise You, Lord. I praise You, Lord. God, Hallelujah, Lord. Yes, Lord Jesus. Thank You. We know that, Lord God, thanking You is not enough. Lord, that we are worthy of that sacrifice. Salita that we should love one another, Lord God, to have that unity in the Body of Christ, to love our brothers and sisters in Christ. But Lord, help us. Teach us.
That Jesus Christ has given us. Give us the changed heart. Thank You. Thank You, Lord Jesus, because of the blood that was shed on the cross, we are redeemed. Because He said, "The Lord God, in Your word, without the shedding of the blood, there is no forgiveness of sins."
That body that was bruised for us, saved to be redeemed. We remember You, Lord Jesus, on that day that You were hung on the cross. In the day that You were risen because You did not stay on the grave. Hallelujah. Thank You for that power, the power to bring us out of the darkness and to make us the sons, the daughters of God. We thank You, Lord, for You alone deserve that high praise, the honor. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen. Amen. Praise God.
