Mark chapter 5, would you turn with me there specifically to verse number 21? Mark chapter 5, verse number 21. I'm reading from the English Standard Version of the Bible. And therein the reading is this.
And when Jesus had crossed again in the boat to the other side, a great crowd gathered about him, and he was beside the sea. Then came one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jarius by name, and seeing him, he fell at his feet, and implored him earnestly, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay your hands on her so that she may be made well and live." And he went with him. And a great crowd followed him and thronged about him.
And there was a woman who had a discharge of blood for 12 years and who had suffered much under many physicians and had spent all that she had and was no better but rather grew worse. She had heard the reports about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. For she said, "If I touch even his garments, I will be made well." And immediately the flow of blood dried up. And she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.
And Jesus, perceiving in himself that power had gone out from him, immediately turned about in the crowd and said, "Who touched my garments?" And his disciples said to him, "You see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you say, 'Who touched me?'" And he looked around to see who had done it. But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling, and fell down before him, and told him the whole truth. And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace and be healed of your disease." Amen. This is the word of God. You may be seated.
I want to label the message tonight trusting Jesus when all is spent. Trusting Jesus when all is spent. [clears throat] It had been a long day of teaching and preaching. And Jesus was tired. So in Mark 4:35, Jesus said to his disciples, "Let us cross over to the other side." But there would be no rest for Jesus. As they crossed the Sea of Galilee that night, hurricane-forced winds suddenly engulfed the sea. This perfect storm would have plunged them to certain death. But Jesus intervened to calm the winds and the waves. When they landed in the country of the Gadarenes, more trouble arose. They were immediately met by a demon-possessed man that no one could tame. But again, Jesus intervened to set this man free. After this miraculous exorcism, the locals begged Jesus to leave their area. So Jesus and the disciples crossed the Sea of Galilee again. And when they landed this time, double trouble awaited.
>> A large crowd waited to meet Jesus eagerly when he arrived again at the city of Capernaum. >> This is how it goes. There will be some who reject you >> and there will be some who receive you. Some will be glad to see you go, others will be glad to see you come. When they deported Jesus from the country of the Gadarenes, he was warmly welcomed by a large crowd in the city of Capernaum. In that crowd, there were two people who desperately needed Jesus's help. We are introduced first to a ruler of the synagogue whose name was Jarius. His 12-year-old daughter was at the point of death and he had come to Jesus pleading that Jesus would go home with him to heal his dying daughter. Jesus consented. But as Jarius led Jesus through the crowd to his house, they were abruptly interrupted. Another person who is in desperate need of Jesus's help reached out to access the Lord's healing power.
Two people from different backgrounds both came to Jesus with desperate needs. One was a man. The other was a woman. Jarius is named. The woman is anonymous. Jarius was a religious leader. The woman was a social outcast. >> Jarius was wealthy. The woman was destitute. Jarius came on the behalf of his daughter. The w- the woman came for herself. >> But the ground is level at the feet of Jesus. The fact that you are somebody doesn't give you an advantage. And the fact that you are nobody does not put you at a disadvantage. We must all come with childlike dependence upon Jesus to do for us what nobody else can do. >> This is how both Jarius and the nameless woman came to Jesus that day. Their stories are interwoven in the text. Jarius asked for healing first. The woman received healing first. And herein we have another illustration of the perfect timing of Jesus. In his infinite wisdom, it can be your time even when it's not your turn. The story of this sick woman is sandwiched in between the story of Jarius's daughter. But this parenthetical story makes an important point that I want you to get tonight. And it is simply this, that you can trust Jesus when all is spent. >> Jesus is the great physician who is able to heal any and every disease. >> I want you to see that in the text tonight.
First, we see in Mark's version of this story that Jesus is able to heal physical diseases. >> The healing of this woman is one of the famous and beloved miracles of Jesus. So much so that various traditions have developed around this story over the centuries of church history. For instance, over the centuries, there have been those who have claimed to be able to identify this woman. The Greek church said her name was Bernice. The Coptic and Latin churches said her name was Veronica. And the historian Eusebius went so far as to claim that she was a gentile from Syrophoenicia whom after she was healed erected a statue of Jesus in her front yard that became a destination site for pilgrims. Of course, all of these are just speculations. >> All that we know for sure about this woman is what Mark tells us in the text. And Mark tells us that she was a desperate woman. who yet had determined confidence that resulted in a divine cure.
She had a desperate condition. The woman's desperate condition is described for us in verses 25 and 26. First, we can note from the text that her disease was severe. It was severe even though we do not know the exact nature of her ailment. The King James version discreetly calls it an issue of blood. >> This issue was a flow. Literally, this woman was bleeding. We do not know if it was more internal or external. It may have been a chronic menstrual discharge or a uterine hemorrhage. We are not sure. But whatever the exact diagnosis, it was a painful, severe, debilitating disease that literally drained the life from this woman. >> But not only was her disease severe, it was also isolating. >> The personal ramifications of her disease were bad, but the interpersonal ramifications were even worse. Leviticus 15:25-33 tell us that a woman in this condition was considered ceremonially unclean. >> Any place she sat or slept was unclean. Anything she touched was unclean. She could not have direct contact with other people lest she affect them. She could not even attend the place of meeting for worship. And worse than that, the Bible says in Leviticus 20:8 that no man was permitted to touch a woman in this condition. >> So she may have been a woman who could not get married or have children because of her sickness or worse she could have been married with children but forcefully separated from them because of her condition.
But then further the text tells us that her disease was chronic. In fact, the only detail we are told about her sickness is that she was plagued with this discharge of blood for 12 years. This was no passing problem. It was a chronic disease. We are not sure if the symptoms were continual or intermittent, but either way, it was a bad situation. >> Can you imagine if this was her daily experience >> for 12 years? But even if the symptoms just came and went, that would be no better. Imagine that the symptoms stopped for days or maybe even weeks and her hopes were lifted, that healing had finally come only for the bleeding to start all over again. FOR MORE THAN A DECADE, she was a living dead person who was dying little by little every day.
But furthermore, the text tells us that her disease was incurable. >> She was not content to just die of this disease. She wanted to get better. So, she went to the doctors for help. Specifically, verse 26 says she went to uh many doctors. And that same verse describes the result of her treatment. It says she suffered many things at the hands of many physicians. That word suffered there is used literally. She suffered because of her physical condition. But Mark says she suffered even more because of her medical treatment. The Jewish Talmud describes various treatments for a woman in this condition that amount to really nothing more than superstitious tricks. The treatment did nothing to help this woman, but apparently it did help the doctors >> because every doctor's visit brought with it a new bill. And it reached a point where this woman has spent all of her income and savings. And she was at a place where she had spent all she could for treatment. And yet she had not gotten any better. In fact, the last thing we are told about her disease in verse 26 is that her disease was worsening. >> She suffered much at the hands of many physicians and did not get any better, but rather grew worse. >> It's like those pharmaceutical commercials on TV. They promise to treat one thing >> and then the list of side effects >> are worse than the thing they promised to treat. >> Of course, the doctors were not intentionally trying to make her worse. They were trying to help. But church, you better listen to the doctors when they say that they are only practicing medicine. Doctors practice medicine. They don't perform miracles. Sometimes their treatments work, sometimes they do not. And in this situation, nothing they did seemed to work. Their diagnosis was wrong. Their medicines were impotent. Their treatments were helpless. Luke, who was also a physician, is sympathetic to the doctor's position. But I like uh Mark's version better. Luke 8:43, Mark, Luke says that there was no one who was able to HEAL HER. BUT MARK SAYS these doctors just took her money and made her worse.
She was in a desperate condition. But yet the text says she had determined confidence. She could not control what happened to her, but she could control her response. And she chose to respond with determination. Chronic sickness, medical malpractice, and financial destitution could not shake her confidence. She had stubborn hope that led her to Jesus. >> Mark tells us in verse number 27 that she touched Jesus. >> She had heard the reports about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. >> Where did she hear about Jesus? All right. >> How did she hear about Jesus? >> From whom did she hear about Jesus? She was an unclean woman who was disconnected from larger society. She could not have direct contact with other people. And yet the reports about Jesus still reached her. Multiple credible and diverse stories about the miraculous power of Jesus reached her and the evidence demanded a verdict. So she believed and her faith was demonstrated in what she did. She took a risk. Wish I had whole sermons worth of time to hang out there. She she took a risk WHEN SHE HEARD THAT JESUS had returned to Capernaum. SHE CLOAKED herself >> and slipped in to the crowd and BY STEALTH SHE WORKED her way THROUGH THE MASS OF HUMANITY THAT THRONGED around Jesus that day as an unclean woman. She had no business in that crowd. She had no business touching anybody, ESPECIALLY JESUS. BUT FAITH SAID, "YOU GOT TO AT LEAST take a risk." AND SO SHE WORKED HER WAY THROUGH THE CROWD UNTIL SHE FOUND HERSELF DIRECTLY BEHIND JESUS. And when she reached Jesus, >> she did it. >> She touched him. Not really him. She touched [screaming] the tassel >> of his robe. >> Oh, King James says it this way. SHE TOUCHED THE HEM OF HIS GARMENT. >> She touched Jesus. BUT NOT ONLY DID SHE TOUCH JESUS, THE TEXT says she trusted Jesus. >> Verse 27 tells us what she did, but verse 28 tells us why she did it. For she said, "If I touch even his garments, >> I will be made well." >> Who did she say this to? >> She she was disconnected from larger society because she was unclean. So the only conclusion we can draw is that she said it to herself. And the grammar of the text indicates that she kept saying this. She continuously encouraged herself WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF getting to Jesus TO TOUCH HIS GARMENT FOR HIS HEALING POWER.
In the ancient world, >> people believed that anything associated with a healer, be it his clothes, some relic, or even his shadow, could bring about healing. As a result, some scholars read this text and conclude that this woman really had more superstition than faith. But I disagree. This woman believed in Jesus. >> And in fact, her faith was so strong >> that she convinced herself that if I DON'T GET A CHANCE TO talk to him, >> Lord, help me tonight. If if if he won't touch me, >> IF IF I CAN JUST touch him, IF I CAN'T TOUCH HIM, IF I COULD JUST TOUCH THE BORDER OF [screaming] HIS ROBE, THAT'S GOOD ENOUGH TO GET ME THE HEALING THAT I NEED. But but even if you want to conclude that she had more superstition than faith, it only makes the miracle all the more remarkable because we must then conclude that Jesus is so sensitive to our needs that he'll help us in our desperate condition even when our faith ain't where it should be. Somebody ought to hear me here. >> Is that good news? >> BECAUSE FAITH HONORS GOD. God honors faith. AND IF YOU'LL REACH OUT IN FAITH TO JESUS, HE'LL RESPOND. EVEN IF YOU A CHILD, EVEN IF YOU A PERSON AND DIDN'T GROW UP IN CHURCH, EVEN IF YOU A SEEKER THAT AIN'T GOT ALL YOUR THEOLOGY WORKED OUT YET, IF YOU JUST REACH OUT BY FAITH, JESUS WILL RESPOND.
And >> as a result, she received a divine cure. The miracle Jesus performs for this woman is recorded in verse number 29. It is the third in a series of miracles that Mark tells to demonstrate the supernatural and sovereign power of the Lord Jesus Christ. At the end of chapter 4, Jesus calms a storm that no one could navigate. At the beginning of chapter 5, he delivers a demon-possessed man that no one can tame. And now in our text, he heals a woman that no one can cure. Mark is trying to show us that Jesus has sovereign authority in his hand. He is Lord over nature, Lord over demons, Lord over sickness. And if you read the end of the chapter, he's Lord over death itself. [cheering] >> Here in our text, we see the authority of Jesus over even chronic sickness. Jesus created these bodies as the eternal son of God and as a result, he can fix them when they break down. The text the text says you don't believe me. I'mma just read the Bible to you >> cuz I believe it. Jesus can heal immediately. Verse 29 says, "And immediately." Just stop right there. Immediately. >> That's Mark's favorite word. He uses it some 37 times in his gospel. The King James translates it better to me on it. It it's translated there straight way. >> That's how Jesus works. The the the the healing that this woman was waiting for for years, Jesus gave it in an instant. WHAT THE DOCTORS COULDN'T DO FOR OVER A DECADE, Jesus did it QUICKER THAN AT ONCE AND SOONER THAN RIGHT NOW. THERE WAS NO RECOVERY PROCESS, NO TIME FOR HER TO GET BETTER. WHEN SHE [screaming] TOUCHED JESUS, IMMEDIATELY she was healed. >> Jesus can heal immediately.
But also the text says Jesus can heal completely. >> Verse 29 says, "Immediately the flow of blood dried up and she felt in her body that she was healed from her disease. Immediately the flow of blood, the fountain of blood, that is metaphorical language Mark uses to say that whatever was the source of THE PROBLEM, WHATEVER was the internal dilemma that was causing her TO BLEED, WHATEVER THE SICKNESS, the disease, the illness was, Jesus touched that internal thing and RESTORED HER TO HEALTH. THAT'S HOW JESUS WORKS. JESUS DOESN'T TREAT SYMPTOMS, HE heals diseases. THAT THERE WAS AN ABSOLUTE REALITY of healing. BUT THEN THERE WAS THE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE of her healing. She felt >> in her body. >> She didn't need to go >> to any doctor for verification. >> She could feel it. She could see it. >> She She knew it. She had gone from sickness to health. She had gone from pain to ease. She had gone from weakness to strength. AND SHE KNEW IN HER BODY THAT JESUS HAD made the difference. I'm trying to prosecute a point tonight that I don't think y'all are getting. So, let me just lay it on the table plainly for you. I'M TRYING TO TELL YOU TONIGHT THAT JESUS IS A HEALER. [cheering] >> Is he able to heal today? >> Absolutely. >> It doesn't matter what the sickness is. >> I submit to you tonight, Antioch, that the term incurable disease ain't in the Lord's vocabulary. [cheering] I've been shepherding God's people for >> for better than 20 years all of my adult life since I was 17 years old. And over the course of those years, I have prayed for many sick people and have seen God raise them up. >> I've also prayed for many sick people who have died. In fact, that was the experience, the time that I prayed most diligently for something in my in my entire life. I was 16 years old. I was a boy preacher. I was landing from Detroit to LA home after preaching a youth revival and got off the plane to the news that my father had been rushed to the hospital. And as they rushed me there from the airport, I began to pray as desperately as I've ever prayed for anything that God would heal my father. But as I was praying, I got a sense that God was not going to answer that prayer. The answer was no. And then I I shifted prayers and said, "Lord, if you're going to take him, take him. But would you just hold him long enough for me to get to the hospital? Hear me. So I can say my goodbyes." And the Lord didn't answer that prayer either. >> But I stand in this place tonight >> to say that even though the Lord didn't do what I wanted him to do when I wanted him to do it, he is still a healer that is in control of every situation. BECAUSE GOD IS SOVEREIGN. HE IS NOT OBLIGATED TO DO ANYTHING he doesn't choose to do. BECAUSE HE IS WISE. HE KNOWS WHAT'S BEST FOR US EVEN WHEN WE DON'T. BUT BECAUSE HE IS OMNIPOTENT, WHEN THE LORD SPEAKS, PAIN, SICKNESS, AND DISEASE [screaming] HAS GOT TO GO. [cheering] >> Jesus is able to heal >> physical diseases.
But also, I want you to see out of this story tonight that Jesus is able to heal spiritual diseases. >> Hear me friends. The miracle Jesus performs for this woman is recorded in verse number 29. But also, I want you to see out of this story tonight that Jesus is able to heal spiritual diseases. >> Hear me friends. The miracle recorded in this story must not be taken as a guarantee of what Jesus will do in any specific given situation today. Divine healing is subject to sovereign discretion. >> Jesus may choose to heal immediately or eventually. He may choose to heal completely or partially. He may choose to heal on earth >> or in heaven. Are y'all in here with me tonight? Healing is in his hands. And so when sickness comes, you must pray and trust and wait. But I commend tonight that either way, it is unwise for us to make too much of physical healing >> because the fact of the matter is that all of our bodies are subject >> to sickness. >> That Atkins diet and insanity workout is not going to get you excused from your date with death. All of these bodies are breaking down and the real problem is not sickness. It is sin. >> We We are all sin-sick. It is severe and painful and debilitating and chronic and costly and ultimately fatal. But I stand tonight to say that the fact that Jesus is able to heal physical disease IS EVIDENCE THAT HE'S ALSO ABLE TO HEAL spiritual disease. I thought I'd have a witness. I'm glad I BROUGHT MY OWN. ISAIAH 53:5 SAYS, "HE WAS WOUNDED FOR OUR TRANSGRESSIONS. HE WAS BRUISED FOR OUR INIQUITY. THE CHASTISEMENT OF OUR PEACE WAS UPON HIM. AND BY HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED." HEALED FROM WHAT? VERSE SIX AS ALL WE LIKE SHEEP >> HAVE gone astray. WE HAVE TURNED EVERYONE TO HIS OWN WAY. BUT THE LORD HAS LAID ON HIM THE INIQUITY OF us all. [screaming]
This woman >> snuck into the crowd to steal a healing. >> And she thought she would be able to slip away as as quietly as she had come. But the Lord flushed her out >> so that we would see tonight that he is not only able to heal physical diseases, he is also able to heal spiritual >> diseases. In the text, Jesus demands a personal confession. Verse 30 says, "And Jesus, perceiving in himself that power had gone out from him, immediately turned about in the crowd and said, 'Who touched my clothes?'" When this woman touched Jesus, she immediately knew something happened to her, but so did Jesus. >> This uh 30th verse says he felt the power had gone out from him. The only time in the New Testament that phrase is used. Immediately when this woman touched him, he knew that her faith touch had accessed his healing power. In fact, he knew it before it happened. >> MacArthur study Bible footnotes here. Christ's power, his inherent ability to work and minister supernaturally flowed from out of him under the conscious control of his sovereign will. I totally believe that. >> He didn't just know it happened, he made it happen. A >> and so when he was asking who touched my garments, he was not asking for his own information. He knew what happened. He just wanted to make known what he already knew. And so he kept looking around >> saying, "Who touched >> me?" The disciples are incredulous. Verse 30 says that they said to him, verse 31, disciples said to him, "You see the crowd pressing around you? All these people thronging you and you going to say, 'Who touched me?'" >> But Jesus was not talking about a random incidental touch. >> He was talking about an intentional touch of faith. And thank God he knows the difference. >> Augustine said it well. >> Flesh presses but faith touches. >> Which category are you in tonight? Unfortunately, many people come to church week in and week out and never experience any true change because you just bump into Jesus incidentally. If the choir IS SINGING YOUR SONG, YOU MAY bump into Jesus. If the preacher is really on it, YOU MAY BUMP IN TO JESUS. AND AS A RESULT, YOU KEEP GOING AND COMING THE SAME way every week. BUT WHEN YOU SHOW UP AND MAKE UP IN YOUR MIND THAT I GOT A NEED THAT ONLY JESUS CAN MEET AND I'M NOT HERE TO PLAY GAMES WITH THE CROWD. [screaming] I'VE GOT TO TOUCH JESUS FOR MYSELF. >> JESUS KEPT SAYING, "WHO TOUCHED ME?" YES, SIR. >> The Bible says >> in verse 33 that the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling >> and fell down before him and told him the whole story. I love this. Jesus is having a private conversation in a huge crowd. >> He knows who he's talking to and so does she. She's trying to slip away, but she hears the voice of the master. >> Keep calling. AND IT DRAWS HER BACK AND SHE RETURNS TO JESUS AND FALLS ON her knees before HIM. IT IS THE SAME POSTURE JARIUS TOOK WHEN HE CAME TO JESUS TO ASK FOR HEALING HELP FOR HIS DAUGHTER. AND SHE BOWED [screaming] BEFORE HIM WITH FEAR and >> trembling. >> What was she afraid of? I submit to you she was afraid for the same reason the disciples were afraid when Jesus spoke to the winds and the waves and the winds and the waves listened. Let me try another one. She was afraid for the same reason the people of the Gadarenes were afraid when they showed up and found Legion sitting and clothed and in his right mind. She she was afraid because she knew she was entering into the presence of deity. This was no mere man. This was the living God. AND SHE BOWED DOWN BEFORE HIM and fearfully TESTIFIED ABOUT BOTH HER CHRONIC SICKNESS AND HER MIRACULOUS HEALING. Let me MOVE ON WHEN I TELL YOU AS G. CAMPBELL MORGAN said well he said here that faith a touch that cures must issue in a testimony that glorifies. >> Or let me try it another way. PSALM 107:2 SAYS, "LET THE REDEEMED >> OF THE LORD [screaming] SAY SO. >> WHOM THE LORD HAS REDEEMED OUT OF TROUBLE." IF THE LORD HAS BLESSED YOU AND CHANGED YOU AND HEALED YOU AND CONVERTED YOU AND GAVE YOU A NEW START, YOU [screaming] OUGHT TO GIVE HIM THE PRAISE FOR ALL HE HAS DONE FOR YOU. I got one more verse. You got time for one more verse? >> Jesus demands a personal confession.
But then in the end of the text, Jesus provides personal assurance. >> The text ends in verse 34 with Jesus saying to the woman, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace and be healed from your disease." I love this. Um Mark, none of the writers of the gospels tell us what this woman's name is, but Mark tells us what Jesus called her. >> Daughter. >> It's the only place in the New Testament Jesus addresses a woman that way. It's a term of affection. By calling her daughter, he is indicating to us that he loved this woman infinitely more than Jarius loved his daughter. In fact, it was also a signal of a new relationship. This was not just a woman he healed. It was a daughter he adopted. >> Are y'all in here with me? He said, "Daughter, >> your faith has made you well." >> The verb there is the common term in the New Testament for salvation. Jesus is saying here that what I've done for YOU IS PROVIDE MORE THAN JUST physical healing. I've also gave you spiritual salvation. I I DIDN'T JUST HEAL YOUR BODY. I HEALED your soul. >> What did it? >> Jesus said, "Your faith has made you well." But let me clarify that. Faith didn't do it. Jesus did. Faith was the instrumental cause, >> but Jesus was the ultimate cause. >> I feel the need to clarify that because there are whole lot of people in the church today that seem to have more faith in faith than they do in Jesus. >> But it wasn't her confession that healed her. It wasn't her touch that healed her. It it wasn't what she did by faith that healed her. It was Jesus. >> Jesus makes the difference. >> Not faith. >> At the end of Mark 4, in that storm, the disciples had weak faith, but he still brought them through the storm. >> Uh Legion was a demon-possessed man who had no faith, but Jesus still set him free. And if you read the END OF THE CHAPTER, JARIUS'S FAITH WAS DISCOURAGED WHEN HE HEARD THE NEWS THAT HIS DAUGHTER HAD DIED. BUT JESUS STILL WENT TO THE HOUSE AND RAISED HER FROM THE DEAD. SEE, IT AIN'T THE SIZE OR THE STRENGTH OF YOUR FAITH THAT MATTERS. IT'S THE OBJECT. Big faith IN AN UNWORTHY OBJECT IS USELESS. BUT JUST MUSTARD SEED FAITH IN THE LIVING GOD [screaming] IS ABLE TO MOVE MOUNTAINS >> out of your way. >> Well, HB, how do you know >> when Jesus I got to left this alone. I done preached myself HAPPY TONIGHT. [cheering] HOW HOW DO YOU know >> when Jesus >> did it? >> Three words in verse 34 and I'mma sit down. >> Hope to see you tomorrow night. >> WATCH THE EVIDENCE that Jesus did it. >> Three words. >> Go >> in peace. >> See, WHEN JESUS DOES IT, >> he doesn't just give provision, >> he gives peace. >> He doesn't just give healing, >> he gives peace. >> He doesn't just give opportunity, he gives peace. He doesn't just give deliverance, he gives peace. He doesn't just give strength, he gives peace. HE DOESN'T JUST GIVE PROMOTION, HE GIVES PEACE. DO YOU KNOW THERE ARE RICH PEOPLE TONIGHT THAT AIN'T GOT NO PEACE? DO YOU KNOW THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT ARE CELEBRITIES AND STARS [screaming] AND ATHLETES AND THEY GOT TO TAKE DRUGS TO GO TO BED AT NIGHT AND DRUGS TO GET UP IN THE MORNING. BUT WHEN JESUS TOUCHES YOU, OH PRAISE HIS NAME. >> I SAID WHEN JESUS TOUCHES YOU, HAVE I GOT A WITNESS TONIGHT? NOT ONLY WILL HE GIVE PROVISION, BUT HE'LL ALSO GIVE YOU PEACE. >> ISAIAH 26:3 SAYS, "YOU WILL KEEP HIM IN PERFECT peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trust in you." And then I hear Jesus saying in John 14 verse 27, "Peace I leave with you. Peace I give to you. NOT AS THE [screaming] WORLD GIVETH GIVE I unto you. LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED and neither let it be afraid." AND THEN I HEAR PAUL SAYING IN Philippians chapter 4 6 AND 7, BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, LET YOUR REQUEST BE MADE KNOWN TO GOD. AND THE PEACE OF God that SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING WILL GUARD YOUR HEART AND mind through Christ Jesus. Have I got a witness? If you just GIVE IT TO JESUS, YOU AIN'T GOT TO KEEP THE PEACE, BUT THE PEACE WILL KEEP YOU. And it'll be beyond all understanding. AND PEOPLE AROUND YOU ARE WONDERING how you ain't LOST YOUR MIND, how you're hanging in there and you can't explain it. YOU JUST GOT TO SAY, "NOBODY BUT JESUS." In fact, JUST GIVE SOMEBODY A HIGH FIVE TONIGHT AND SAY, "NOBODY BUT JESUS BROUGHT me through the storm I WAS FACING." NOBODY BUT JESUS. GAVE ME STRENGTH, GAVE ME HOPE, GAVE ME JOY, GAVE ME PEACE IN THE midnight hour. Won't he do it? WON'T HE DO IT? IF YOU KNOW HE WILL TONIGHT, shake somebody's hand. LOOK HIM IN THE EYE AND TELL HIM, "NEIGHBOR, I don't know WHAT YOU'RE DEALING WITH, BUT I GOT SOME ADVICE FOR HIM." TELL him whatever it is. Come on, y'all ain't talking. Help me. Help somebody. Look at me now AND TELL THEM WHATEVER IT IS. Hold to his hand, God's [screaming] unchanging hand. UH, BUILD YOUR hopes on things eternal. AND HOLD ON, [screaming] hold on. [screaming] Hold on.
