Nintendo Switch 2 | A REBEL Review

Game Rebels 46:20

Transcription

Alright, good evening to the company. We greet our friends. Aloha.

So, a special broadcast today, for a console that is very dear to both of us, and obviously, I think.

I think, I think they've figured something out. Uh.

Bravo. Bravo. I think everyone has figured out which one we're talking about. Anyway. It's none other than the Switch 2. We'll talk a little bit about it today, as it's been almost 8 months since it came out and since we've had it in our possession, because, okay, I don't think it's hard for anyone to guess that I would get it upon its release. So, we'll give our opinion, how it struck us, negatively, positively, and generally, how living with it has been all these months.

Exactly. How we've generally experienced the first 8-9 months now with the Switch 2.

Yes. Yes. That. Let's start by saying what I think is worth mentioning first of all, and that's the first contact with the console. That the Switch 2, we've discussed this amongst ourselves, that as a console, it obviously didn't have the shock value that the original Switch had.

Correct. From the first trailer of the first Switch, this thing we saw, that it's a hybrid console, that it's a handheld, which also connects to the TV and works 100% on the TV, both one and the other, and how amazing it was when we got it in our hands, we realized that it's indeed like that, it works, it's not just an idea. It works.

And it works very quickly. You touch it, it responds. Yes, yes, yes.

You touch it, and suddenly it appears. It doesn't have that. So, all that shock value that the original Switch had, the shock value of the unknown, the new, the Switch 2 didn't have it as a console.

It's true. It's true. For us. For me, certainly, I think for most people. Because it continues the same, the same concept.

Well, by no means would I call it, as many call it, the Switch Pro. It's not the Switch Pro. It's not just, you know, an update, an upgrade of the original Switch. It's a leap. It's truly next-gen. You feel it's a next-generation console compared to the first Switch.

And for me, clearly. I mean, if you look at the most recent example. If you look at the differences between the PS5 and the PS5 Pro, let's say, which, well, that's another discussion, but no comparison. There's no comparison at all. We're talking about a different console.

From the Switch 1 to the Switch 2, it's almost like going from PS1 to PS3. That's the leap.

It's true, it's true, it's true. It's true. A very good example.

It's a huge leap. I mean, I've often said this in discussions with friends, etc., you know, I got the Series X and the PS5 on day one, I had the previous ones too. The leap I felt from the Switch, the Switch 2, from my complaints about the Series X and the PS5, I didn't feel that leap.

I mean, from PS4 Pro to PS5 and from Xbox One X to Series X, I really felt it was just reheated food. I felt like I upgraded my PC. I didn't feel like I made a generational leap.

Well, let me tell you, many who had, for example, a PS4 Pro, stayed with that.

Yes.

I mean, the differences with the standard PS5 are small.

Yes. They are minimal. The SSD was the big difference in those consoles.

In the Switch 2, the differences from the Switch 1 are everything.

Man, I'll tell you the simplest thing. The simplest thing I noticed when I opened this console. The store.

You go into the store, you scroll down, and it runs. It used to be a problem to enter the store of the first one.

I mean, it would load four, five, six rows of games, and then you'd wait for it to load. You understand? So, just from that first thing I looked at, you say, friend, here we are. Here I am.

And generally, Nintendo communicated this very aggressively, which I'm generally not used to from Nintendo, communicating specs so intensely and, you know.

It's true, they haven't accustomed us to that. It's true.

And the console's power, I mean, beyond the direct presentation, at the direct presentation of the console, they talked about 4K, about frames, about 120 frames, which for Nintendo are unknown words, you know.

Beyond that, and when the console was released, it's released day one with Cyberpunk. It wants to show something. So, this thing was a statement. It says, look, at this moment, what is the most demanding third-party game that even current-gen consoles had trouble with? I'm releasing it with this game to show that.

Yes, yes, yes.

I'm no longer, you know, a console that plays in its own separate league. I'm now also in the league of others, and I'm playing with them on equal terms.

Yes, man. And in this way, I believe it also attracts people who will buy this console and, you know, often didn't buy it for reasons like it doesn't play many third-party games.

Yes.

Now, you forget that. I mean, many have already been released. Many will be released. You see third-party games being released on other consoles, and they're also released directly on the Switch. And you play them at resolutions you wouldn't believe a.

You play it. You play it at a comparable level. Comparable, I mean, let's not go too far. Now, as we're recording this video, the biggest game of the year has been released, the triple-A, which is the new Resident Evil, Re. And they're playing it day one. It's playing day one on the Switch 2, and it's playing, not just decently. It's playing the same game.

It's what I said in the last live stream we did, that if you told me.

Man, you're playing the PS5 version, I would say yes, I'm playing the PS5 version.

I don't understand. I didn't notice anything that felt off, that made me say, okay, here we're dealing with a weaker console.

Yes. Yes.

So, no. No. It's not that. I believe it has already won over more people compared to those that the Switch 1 had already won over, with its exclusives and generally as a console. So, generally as hardware, because I think we've already started the video this way, it's good that we're talking now about impressions regarding the hardware. As hardware, the Switch 2, the first impressions, and generally, after 8 months with the console and with the use I've had and so on, I am more satisfied than I expected to be. I mean, very satisfied.

No question. I had much lower expectations.

Yes. One dark spot, which I've said many times and we discuss it amongst ourselves, is the battery.

Which is not unacceptable. I mean, in a very, very demanding game, it will last 2 to 2.5 hours, which is okay.

Resident Evil, I'm telling you. It lasts exactly hours, hours, handheld, basically.

The complaint is that because technologically, as a machine, it's incredible, I mean, it has this performance and it has it with minimal consumption. I mean, there's no hardware right now that, with 10W that the Switch 2 works with, has this performance. I mean, Nvidia, the chip that Switch has made is outrageously good. And instead of Nintendo taking advantage of this and saying, I'll put a good battery in and it will have autonomy. I saw it the other way around. It says, okay, this is an opportunity to save on the battery and put the smallest battery I can. For me, this is perhaps my biggest complaint about the console to date, regarding the hardware part of the console.

The battery. Yes, it's small. It's small, especially compared to how it used to accustom us with the Lite, for example, it has.

Yes.

Or with the V2, and with the V2, because with the V1.

And with the Light. Yes, and with the Light, because with the V1, the battery was, I think.

Okay, at the same level. At the same level as the battery that the two has now. Two to three hours.

But with the Lite, the battery didn't run out. I mean, you'd get bored first, or your hands would get tired if you were playing handheld, and then you'd say, what happened, the Lite turned off. I, who used the Lite extensively and played a lot handheld on the Lite, four hours was the minimum. I mean, for it to turn off, for four hours, I had to play a very, very demanding game and have brightness and sound and it was definitely four hours plus.

In lighter games, it would last five hours. Yes, clearly, clearly.

This now, the Switch 2, we've forgotten about it. We've forgotten about it.

Yes, yes, okay, yes. I think for me too, the only negative thing I can find, the only negative thing. Okay, if I can find one more negative thing, but.

Okay. It's a bit heavier.

Well, okay, bigger. Bigger. Some people don't mind, some do. I mean, I, having played the Lite quite a bit, for example.

Yes.

On the one, for me, for example, the Lite was the ideal console for someone to have for playing handheld. The ideal one, though. Yes.

I agree 100%. And now, to add to that, to take your cue and say that because I've kept my previous Switches too.

I kept the Lite because I thought, okay, I'll want to play some games handheld, I'll have the Lite to play there.

Now that I have the Switch 2, because of its screen, which is huge when I play portably, I personally like to play a lot on the stand with the Pro Controller.

So, it's convenient for you.

The screen is huge, and it's fine for me. When I want to play handheld sometimes, I'll tell you, I play on the Lite. So, right now, with the Switch 2, my Lite is completely useless.

Yes. And let me say something here, a bit related and unrelated. The Lite is also a beautiful console. Yes.

It's nice in the hand. It's nice, the Lite.

And it had a different texture. I mean, it was compact. It was. It was amazing. It was amazing. And its screen looked better due to its smaller size compared to the V2, not the LED, compared to the V2.

Yes. The pixels are denser. But still, as a screen, because I also have the V2, its brightness, its colors, and so on, are not as good.

Okay.

But it's denser. It's more, the image is more crystal clear. But we're talking about differences now. You have to put them side by side to notice. Minimal.

Well, no. And this, and the screen now that we've touched on it, because it was a topic that was discussed a lot when the Switch 2 came out, and why not.

The screen, guys, is a dream. It's not an OLED, for sure, it's a minus. But when we compare two screens, you can't just compare if it's OLED or not. There are many other factors, like the quality of its colors, its resolution, and all these things that the screen brings. So, when you put everything together and look at it side by side. Because I also have the OLED. The Switch 2's screen is a class above the OLED. Certainly, in terms of contrast and blacks, it loses to the OLED, but in all other aspects.

Only in black. Only in black does it lose. Basically.

In image clarity, colors, and all that, it's significantly superior to.

Man, you know what? Most people, I think, expected when Nintendo made the announcement with the specs they saw, that it wouldn't have an OLED screen, they thought they were going back to V2, V1 eras. And they said, now what? And finally, it came to prove us wrong, and in this aspect too.

So, yes, I think indeed, on the hardware front, only the battery is the one that has an issue.

Yes. As a console, it's generally a leap. I mean, even in terms of quality, when you hold it in your hand, it's a leap from.

Man. Even the Joy-Cons. The fact that they come off so easily. Yes. There's no comparison. There's no comparison.

They made it as easy as possible. As simple as possible for someone to remove the Joy-Cons.

And higher quality, I would say. You feel the quality.

Five levels higher than the previous one. Very much so. In build quality. Bigger buttons. It's, I think, amazing. The only thing I will say here is that even in this generation, the Joy-Cons, I think, have kept the same, I've read, the same philosophy. Yes. In the analog sticks. In the analog sticks. Yes.

You know what? Nothing has been heard so far. If there was a problem, there would have been an uproar. That's what impresses me too, Nick, that while they've kept the same technology in the Joy-Con analog sticks, nothing has been heard. I mean, those complaints you heard from the first week.

Of the Switch 1, those don't exist. They don't exist.

They've almost disappeared. I don't know.

I know quite a few people who have, besides you and me, many people who have a Switch 2. I haven't heard from anyone. Nor have I seen anyone online complain about drift. Whereas, let's say, with the PS5, in the beginning, when I had it.

Well. Okay.

Even though there was an uproar about drift.

On the PS5, Nick, I think within a month, I remember playing Deathloop, a small game, and it was the first time I noticed the first drift on the controller that came with the console.

You experienced it here too. Yes.

Stationary. And I was watching the screen, you know, the player moving like this, and I said, man, I said, don't mess with me now, a one-month-old controller. Anyway. Okay, different topic.

Yes.

No. Look, the fact that its analog sticks are not magnetic, and it's the classic technology, doesn't mean they're the same as the first one.

Obviously, they are made from different materials with different specifications.

Obviously.

Obviously, they paid attention to it and solved it.

It seems so. Another important thing in the hardware for me, because, okay, we've talked about the negatives. Shall we start talking about the positives of the hardware?

Okay. Yes. Yes.

Chat button and generally chat.

Yes. This button, I think, because many times, especially with my close friend, we used to say, man, how will we play, how will we connect, Discord, maybe Messenger, you know, put on speakerphone and things like that. Really, the fact that you press this button and everything is so simple.

Yes. Then, because then you go to the software part. Okay. It's ideal and it's so easy.

And this is something that even Nintendo, although they communicated it, didn't make as big a deal out of it as it is. And if you see people online.

And people online who have used it. And how good an implementation they've done with the AI technology they've put into it. I mean, you have someone in voice chat, you're talking.

The console is next to the TV. The TV and the console are 2 meters away from you. The TV.

Yes, yes, yes.

The TV has sound coming from it for the game, and the other person hears you perfectly clearly, without any interference. Yes, yes, yes, yes.

The thing is mind-blowing. There's no other complexity for this thing. And this thing, they didn't advertise it as much as another company would have.

No.

They would have made it a banner. It's true, and the company and its fans and everyone would be proud. Anyway.

And my friend tried this at some point. I remember we were playing, his headphones ran out of battery because he had some Bluetooth headphones, and he said, wow, he said, now, he said, we're screwed. I said, don't go crazy, plug it in normally, and I'll hear you. He said, man.

You'll hear the TV, you'll hear the sound from next to you. Are you sure?

He said, do it, and you'll see. And we tried it, man, like nothing changed. When I say nothing, not that I heard him from far away, not.

It's extraordinary. It's incredible. Incredible.

Generally, these are the things Nintendo does, that it pays a lot of attention to its machines being user-friendly and comfortable.

Many people don't understand how difficult this is and what a technological achievement it is.

It's simply important that it is.

I mean, the dock, what you do, that you put it in the dock, and in a fraction of a second, it has changed profile. It has transferred the image, it has made it correct as it should be on the TV.

Bravo.

And it does it all in a fraction of a second without you doing anything. This thing is not easy, it's not simple.

No. I think now that we're discussing this, I think someone whose main console is the Switch will have a lot of difficulty switching to a PC at some point.

Yes.

And to. Or to go to a handheld PC. It will seem like a mountain. It will seem like a tremendous effort.

No question. And you remember that at some point I was looking a lot at the Xbox Series X.

Yes. Uh, that was the reason I knew I would get into trouble. I mean, now to open a game and say, now this is a triple-A. Ah, let me play a bit with its settings, let me see what I need to set for it to run well, what I shouldn't. It gets into a situation where you say, man, at some point, let me tell you something. Forget it, forget it.

It's what we say, man, it spoils you. I mean, I remember, because I didn't buy it myself, but because I have friends and former colleagues and so on, I've played with handheld PCs. I mean, to play with a handheld PC, and to spend a thousand euros on these machines, you know, and to connect it to the TV, and to have to open menus and start fiddling with settings because the image is cut off, or this or that. I would feel like this thing has taken me back 20 years. I don't want to do it anymore. I've been spoiled too much by the Switch that I don't want to do this.

That's the truth. It has spoiled us.

This truth has spoiled us.

This console spoils you.

So, I think we've covered the hardware. I don't think there's anything else.

And a better stand, I'll add, which on the Lite, the stand was already better than.

It's similar to the OLED.

But it's even better.

Yes.

And its speakers are much better. They are, guys, they are shocking, much better. Not just better.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

It's an upgrade everywhere, and it's a huge upgrade in all areas. Not just a small one.

Yes.

It's a huge upgrade. Yes.

I want to say that what I said about not having a huge shock with the Switch 2 regarding the experience, because my experience was familiar. Despite that, the same applies to the Pro Controller, because I bought the Pro Controller on day one.

The Pro Controller, guys, I was shocked at how good a controller it is. I already liked the original very much. It was one of my favorite controllers.

The Pro Controller 2, although its differences are small, visually at least, are small.

Yes. Not practically small. Okay.

But when you hold it in your hand and play, it's that. It's what we say about the Switch. It's the details, like what we said about voice chat or how the hybrid works, which are details that make a difference.

The same applies to this. For example, the way the plastic is joined now, so that there's no seam anywhere.

There's no seam, like on the Xbox or PlayStation, where you hold it in your hand and you feel the seam in your hand.

Yes, yes, yes. I understand what you're saying.

Because you don't feel the analog sticks hitting. Nor do you feel the creaking of the springs inside. It's, we're talking about a smoother analog stick. You can't imagine why.

I don't have it. I only had the first one. The differences in quality. In the quality of how you feel the controller in your hand. Yes.

Guys, they make it incredible.

Incredible, really. Yes.

To the point where when I play the Switch many times and then go to Xbox or PlayStation, I pick up the analog sticks and I feel like they're rusty springs or something feels strange to me, how much.

Work has been done.

I feel the analog stick compared to the Switch 2, and this has nothing to do with the PlayStation or Xbox controller, it has to do with how smooth and how well-made the Pro Controller 2 is. I was shocked, guys, when I first held this controller, and it's generally improved, its HD Rumble is improved, its battery remains like the first one, it lasts 80 hours.

To me, man, it seems that both on the console and on the Switch, the Joy-Cons, the HD Rumble is improved compared to.

They are improved, yes, they are.

Improved. Yes.

I noticed it a lot in Resident Evil, that made a very big impression on me.

Ah, and a part of the hardware we haven't mentioned is that, because it's Nintendo, it had to have something new, and they've put this in the Joy-Cons, where you can also play like a mouse, which I, personally, will use very little. I, not at all so far, Nick, not at all.

I think, I think this is a feature that will be used very little, and it will be used in some party game, in something like that, or in some strategy game, in very specific games.

Look, I'll tell you, I haven't used it at all either, because I never had an office, I mean, I never played. Now that I've set up the room, the game room, and I have an office with a monitor, so I'm waiting for the second dock I ordered to arrive.

It will be tested, you know, so I'll have an idea of how it works now. I don't even know how it works. I don't know at all. What I've concluded, and I might be wrong, is that it's a feature at the level of, like the AR camera on the first one that the Joy-Con had underneath.

Which was used in five games, and that was it. I think it's a feature of that level. I don't know. Look, to play, to play strategy games or.

I'll tell you, yes, now I don't know if, because, you know, I hear "mouse" and I think of first-person shooter games.

Yes. Yes.

I don't think so. Unless. You know what came out.

I used it in Metroid.

Yes.

I played for 5 minutes, saw it, and went back to the controller.

That's what I'm telling you. Unless some case comes out where you put it in and it actually has the feel.

Yes. Of a mouse grip.

That's possible too. The grip is possible. Many things are possible. Yes.

Because the grip plays a very big role.

Yes.

Uh.

And it has to do with the ecosystem. Now, from the moment you're talking about a console, even strategy games, when they're designed for a console, it's natural to play them with a controller. So, you won't miss the mouse, and you don't miss the mouse.

Yes. Yes.

Even in strategy games. But anyway, that was it. It's another feature that was worth mentioning, man. I just don't consider it a selling point of the console for any reason.

No. A beer. Okay. We didn't go crazy over the mouse. That. So, I think we're moving on to the games now, to talk about them.

Sorry. And another port. You see, one by one, we remember them. Another Type-C port.

Yes. On top.

Yes. I, who play a lot in stand mode.

Convenient.

This.

And for the camera, that you can put a camera. From above.

It's important. It's important. It's important, this too.

So we don't forget it. So, I think now. No, no.

We've covered it all. The hardware. I think.

Yes.

Yes. Bottom line regarding hardware is that it's a huge leap compared to the previous one. Huge in everything.

No matter how much they look alike visually, because they do.

It's just gotten bigger, it's gotten darker, it's had a lot of sunbathing. Darker, which I expect to lighten up a bit.

What I like is that it has the details inside, the colors.

Yes, yes, yes. I like that because on the old Switch, when you took off the Joy-Cons, it just looked like a black tablet. This one, even without the Joy-Cons, has a character.

It's a Switch.

I like it.

Yes, yes, yes, yes. Yes.

That's it, I think, for the hardware.

Great. Let's move on to the most important thing.

Let's move on to the essence of the matter, which is the games.

Go ahead, it's all yours.

Where are the games?

You start. So, let me start with the big one that caused a stir, the launch game, which was Mario Kart.

Which many said, well, when we say many, guys, now, the people who are on the internet, in groups, on YouTube channels, and so on, and we talk, we are the core gamers. Yes.

And the conversation that it didn't have a strong launch like the Original with Breath of the Wild. If we take a step back and think about it a bit more objectively, it had a much bigger launch title than the Switch 1, because Mario Kart, we're talking about right now, is Nintendo's biggest IP in terms of sales. There's no other Nintendo game that sells.

Clearly, first of all, Mario Kart 8, how many years was it?

How many years was it, man?

From the Wii U.

From the Wii U. We're talking about many, many years.

Mario Kart is a decade old, and on the Switch, it's not just the first game in sales, it's the first game. It has sold close to 80 million copies.

Yes, yes, yes.

So, it's a very important title, of course. And for me, the fact that the console launches with a new Mario Kart, there's no bigger title for a Nintendo console launch. It's the biggest title that could have been a launch, whether we like it or not.

And for me, it wasn't crazy. I mean, the reason I ultimately wanted to get a Switch 2 was because I had seen the trailer for Banjo-Kazooie. That's the game that.

Clearly. Clearly. Me too. I'm one of them.

But Mario Kart, guys, is a huge, huge launch title for the console. Huge. I mean, it can't, it can't be. It's what I said. There can't be a bigger launch game for a console. And after that, immediately Banjo-Kazooie, and generally, I think the Switch 2 had a very, very strong start. Very strong. I mean, beyond new games like Metroid Prime, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and these, which you say, okay, even if I didn't have a Switch 2, I would play them on the first one. But they are new games. So, they count as Switch 2 releases. Yes.

In 7-8 months, it has released a ton of.

That's what I wanted to tell you. That's what I wanted to tell you, Nick. There's no other console right now.

No.

That in so many months, which is a short time, it hasn't even been a year, has released so many exclusives in such a short period.

Yes. I mean, let's not be greedy now, because I hear many who are greedy.

I was looking the other day at a comparison that was a bit of a troll, but it's also true at the same time. It tells you that the PS5, in 6 years, has six or seven exclusives. We're talking about exclusives that are only on PS5. Nowhere else. Yes.

Not PC.

Not PC, not PS4, not anywhere. It has six or seven exclusives, and the Switch in 6 months has eight.

Yes. Yes. Yes, it's extreme. It is.

Eight games that only play on Switch 2. Nowhere else. Not even Switch.

I mean, it's outrageous. They are all Breath of the Wild. No, they are not. Because within that, they count Welcome Tour and so on, but they are eight exclusive games within 6-7 months. I mean, the number is huge.

Yes. Yes. I agree. And if you include the exclusives that are generally Switch exclusives, meaning games that were released on the first Switch, like Metroid Prime 4, the new Pokémon, and these, in 7-8 months, it has released over 10 exclusives as a console. I mean, it's flying.

It's flying, and I see that, I mean, what I see in the future is very encouraging for the Switch. Yes.

Very encouraging. And for the exclusives and for the third-party games. I see it generally, as a console, doing very, very well.

Yes.

And okay. I mean, I played Banjo-Kazooie, for example, when I played it, because I didn't get Mario Kart. I didn't get the bundle. I got the console.

Because I'm not some crazy fan. I got Mario Kart, but later.

I was shocked, man.

I mean, for me, Banjo-Kazooie is a reason to get a Switch 2.

Clearly. Clearly, it was a reason, and it still is a reason to get a Switch 2.

They're not available elsewhere. They're not available elsewhere.

Well, and Mario Kart is objectively a reason to get one. Yes. Now I'm talking as Aris, for me.

And for me personally, it was also Hyrule Warriors.

The fact that a new Zelda game is coming out, even a spin-off. I couldn't not get it.

It's true. I haven't played that yet, although I liked Calamity very much.

Yes. I've told you. I think we've discussed it before. For me, Calamity was better than the new one.

Okay.

But the new one, technically, I'm not discussing it. The new one is fantastic. I imagine it. Yes.

But you know what I like about this, I mean, Nintendo, many times, many, including myself, criticize it and shout that it only focuses on two or three franchises, mainly Pokémon and Mario, and within a year, it will release three Pokémon games and.

Four Mario and some other IPs you wait 20 years to see new ones. You see that even this, they don't abandon. Meaning, the fact that they released a new Kirby Air Riders >> m >> for me shows that as a company, they still have the passion to give you a slightly more niche title for their fans and not just their mainstream blockbusters. >> E, they love all their fans, basically. That's what I see. >> Yes. >> Not a specific portion of fans, or not just the popular ones. A little more love for Pokémon fans, obviously, and Mario, but not the others either. >> It's a shame I'm not, damn it, I'm not one of them, I don't happen to be one of them, okay. >> That Kirby Riders, for me, was one of the biggest surprises of the year last year, meaning it was unexpectedly good, and it was also a game that, like many people, I thought, "Wait, the same year you released Mario Kart, you're releasing another one?" But they are very different, I have it, it's another philosophy. Has anyone played it? I understand that if you play it to understand it, it doesn't save it. It still has that problem, but when you play it, you understand that it was needed because it's something very different. It's more of an action party game. It's not as much of a kart racer as Mario Kart is. >> Yes. >> It's something very special, Killer Riders. >> Yes. >> Okay. I will say that I am waiting for a new 3D Mario, and I think the bomb will drop. It will drop soon. I'm waiting for it like crazy. Because Odyssey, for me, was one of the games, I think, that marked me on the Switch, truly one of them. Uh, like Mansion 3. >> Uh, I'd like a Mansion 4, you know, uh, this generation. Uh, okay. >> There are many now. >> There are many. There are many. I'd like a new Astral Chain too. You know now. >> For Nintendo. For Nintendo, if we start making a list of what we'd like to see, it's endless. >> Leave it. >> Because, okay, now, Nintendo, we're talking about a company that has a dozen. What a dozen? It has many dozens of IPs. >> It has dozens of IPs. So you have something to look forward to. Meaning, you hear that there will be a direct >> and you can't imagine what they might release. You understand? Meaning, you hear a direct for others and you say, "They'll show me Wolvery >> or this, or that." Yes. >> Yes, they'll show me this. You understand? Meaning, more or less, you know what you'll see, and you just know you'll see a new video. You'll see a little more gameplay. Something like that. Here, you hear "direct" and you say, "Man, what will I see now?" >> You know what for what, and there's also the thirst for new things because the other two big players, let's say, the platform holders, Microsoft and Sony, don't have that many IPs on their own. Well, Microsoft does now due to acquisitions, but I mean, until recently, Nintendo wasn't so thirsty for new IPs because there are so many IPs that are already forgotten. Meaning, I, for example, would like a new IP here, or a new Golden Sun here, which we haven't seen in decades, or a new Starfox, or a new F-Zero. Meaning, the list of IPs you say, "I'm waiting to see a surprise," like, for example, >> E. It's big. >> It's huge. >> Yes. >> Huge. >> So, yes. So >> here I want to comment on something else. Generally, because many people tell us, and generally they tell Nintendo fans that they wear blinders, you know, I hear these things a lot. I will say that Nintendo fans are also very strict in general, as fans. Meaning, when there's a direct that isn't what they expected, they are very strict. Compared to fans of other consoles who will see a direct, they'll show them a little more gameplay in a game, and they'll say, "The direct today was amazing." >> Uh, let's say these things, you know. >> Because I see these a lot. Generally, Nintendo, although it's healthier in the console space, you know, and although theoretically it has a very hardcore audience, the audience that will buy a Nintendo console with their eyes closed is minimal. Meaning, even I, who am now a Nintendo fan because of the Switch, >> Wii and Wii U I didn't have. >> Yes. You have to convince them. You have to make an effort to convince them. Yes. On the other hand, Sony has its audience, the majority of its audience. When a new PlayStation comes out, they'll go buy a PlayStation without question, with their eyes closed. >> I, who am not, bought it. >> I bought it, and I have it, I've discussed it many times. I know you disagree. I kind of regret it. Meaning >> yes >> it wasn't a console that I said. >> Meaning, Sony, not that it has its audience and buys consoles out of habit. Nintendo hasn't done that. >> No. Meaning, its followers, its fans, and its world don't follow it blindly. And that was evident with the Wii U. When it came from the Wii, which had won the generation, it was first in sales, and then comes the Wii U, and the Wii U hit rock bottom. You see that there's no audience that follows it with their eyes closed. >> Yes. >> Very easily, a person who plays Nintendo, and I am one of them, if they see something they don't like, they don't care. They move on to the next. >> Yes. And I believe that was also a gamble with the Switch 2, because many said, "You know what? It's following the same steps to be safe, so it will do well." But many also said the opposite, like, "It's reheated food." >> Yes. But it has such good quality. >> Yes. That's why I say it. That's why I say it. Ultimately, however, things seem to be very different, and I believe that for the reasons we discussed, all these reasons we discussed before, both for the hardware part and for the software part, that it's not stagnant, it hasn't gotten stuck now, it's not like the priest saying, "Okay, I have the recipe ready, I know it sells," no, no. >> "Just make a small upgrade and we're good." >> No, I'm telling you, and that was evident in what I said, that it launches the console with its biggest card. >> Yes. Yes. >> It showed me that as a company, it hasn't relaxed and feels like, "Okay, we've found the hen that lays the golden eggs, and we don't need to do anything." Meaning, it seems like they're taking it seriously. >> Now, we've entered 2026. Let's see 2026. 2026 so far doesn't look bad, but we're missing a bomb. Meaning, yes, we know you have a new Fire Emblem, which for me is a bomb, but objectively, it's not. >> Yes. For many. For me, for example, it's not. >> A new Splatoon is coming. We know that, which is a big title, but it's not. You understand? >> For me, it is. For me, it is. >> That. >> Especially if it has a story mode and things like that, we're waiting. We are in anticipation. Meaning, now that we're making the video, we still haven't seen the bomb for 2026 for the console. I believe >> it's true. It's true. We'll see it. We'll see it. Yes. And I believe we'll see it. It's a given. But, but games we're waiting for. So, already in '26, four or five Switch 2 exclusive first-party games have been announced. So, what we said. >> Yes. >> And there are others. >> There's the new Yoshi and some I'm forgetting. Meaning, you see that Nintendo continues. Its rhythm doesn't stop. Non-stop. Meaning, you know that every year it will give you 10 to 15 first-party exclusives, plus everything else. It's true. >> Meaning, it's going non-stop. >> Yes. No, it's okay. I don't, honestly, I don't have anything else to add because anything else I add would be very personal and related to my love for this specific company, for this specific console. So >> Okay, it's getting a bit off-topic for the video. Of course, Rebels, we're here, and we always go off-topic. Whether it's live or a video we've prepared. And here, let's say something else, because I want to say it, because it's important, that in today's video you'll see, neither notes nor anything were prepared. We went out >> No, guys, we went purely by feel. >> Nikos had the idea a couple of days before. I told him, "Let's go." Neither a point nor anything was prepared. We could have made a list with all the hardware specs, with all the games, with all that, and told you. It's purely personal. >> I took my dog for a walk, went upstairs, opened OBS, and we made the video. Let's say these things too. >> We are, we are Rebers. Go with the flow. >> That, that. >> That. So, I think these were our opinions, our experiences, and generally our feelings so far with the first, first 8-9 months of the console. First impressions, good >> in some aspects, good >> and generally, I believe that, like you, we are quite optimistic. It shows, meaning, that it will maintain the rhythm of the Switch 1. Meaning >> uh, one thing I want to add, which, from the negatives, bothers me a little, besides the battery. Okay, which, to tell you the truth, doesn't affect me as much as you. The SD card, the Express, which are expensive in general as cards, and with all this business with the game key cards, you know that I have no problem with game cards. So, a thousand times rather I'd get a game key card than a digital-only code-in-a-box game. But when the cards are so expensive, to get, for example, 512GB or 1TB, you need 150, 200, 300 euros, I don't know what you need, we're talking about something very expensive. >> Yes. >> Uh >> only that, I think, is the dark spot. So, from there on, whoever wants to support digital, whoever wants to support game key cards, so it's relative. >> Look, to tell you the truth, you put it well, because the truth is, we didn't touch on it, and it's a big part, so before we close the video, it's worth mentioning. First, quickly, about the SD cards you mentioned. You know what? Personally, I don't feel it at all, neither positive nor negative. I feel it as part of the evolution. Meaning, from the moment you get a more high-end console, it's logical that it will require a better and faster one. >> Certainly, it was necessary. It wasn't necessary for you. Better and faster means more expensive. So, it's an unavoidable evil. So, this specific thing hasn't affected me. I can't say it's neither positive nor negative. It's something expected. >> Yes. >> This specific thing, for me. Now, about the key cards. There's been a lot of talk about key cards. I've even made a video about them, and so on. I'll say more or less what I've said before. First, I understand why Nintendo did it, because it was another way to appease the parties. >> Look, if you don't like it, you don't have to do it on cartridge because we understand it's more expensive than the Blu-rays you're used to on others. Get this option too, which is cheaper. I understand why they did it. Where I disagree is that I believe there should be some control from Nintendo. Meaning, when someone has a game that is 10, 15, or 20 GB >> release it. Release it on a normal card, man. >> You released Cyberpunk entirely on cards. >> Of course, if they do that, then they admit they want to appease them. Meaning, if they release it and ban half of them, it makes no sense why they released it. It's a bit of a strange situation, the >> key card. However, what you said would be very nice to happen, to say, "You know what? Up to 30 GB," because Resident Evil is also 29 GB, it's not a big game. >> Oh, yes, yes, yes. Here we discuss >> up to 30 GB, you'll release it there. Beyond that, release the key card if you want. Okay. You could have >> Generally, however, the situation seems to be improving regarding key cards, because in the first, especially in the first few months, there was a lot of economic scarcity. Meaning, many companies came out and said our games are underperforming terribly, and this and that. And the companies that did it were all the companies that released key cards. >> If you remember, they also released something like that, where they sent a questionnaire to everyone who had an account to give our opinion on key cards. So, it's something that concerns them. >> They are studying it. Yes, it seems they are studying it. >> And now, from what they say, I haven't verified it, but I think it's 90% true. They've also released smaller cards, because until now, they only had the large 4 GB and the key card. Now they've also released intermediate ones, like more. >> Yes. Yes. Yes. >> Someone, so they can release normal cartridges without paying for the 64 if they don't need it, and it seems to be improving. Meaning, I see more and more third-party games being released on normal cartridges. >> I hope so, I'll say, for me, it's not a problem. I put it this way because for many it is, and I understand. For me, it's not, you know, that I buy Game Key Cards. I have no problem. I don't have a big card. I have 256GB, but if I need to, I'll delete something, I'll find a way. That's what I want to say. So, it's not a problem for me. Not a big problem. It's not a problem for me. >> But because for some it is, and I understand, and there's a lot of discussion about it, we couldn't not touch on it and discuss it a little here. Regardless of the video you've uploaded. >> No. For me, the fact that there's an alternative, just like we always had code-in-a-box, just like we always have discs on PlayStation and Xbox today that don't contain the game, so we'll have key cards. It will become a problem for me if everything becomes key cards. For me, that's where the real problem will be, because I don't want that. >> Well, obviously. >> But >> obviously >> as long as we're not there yet >> I believe there's no reason for alarm. >> I could never imagine a Nintendo exclusive game being only on key card. Meaning, that would be copia says high. >> Copia says high. That's it. >> That's it, guys. So, we want comments from below to tell us your opinion. First of all, if you have Switch 2, if you've bought it, how you found it, if you agree, if you disagree. Of course, let's have a discussion. We're not here just to agree and disagree. Of course. >> Whoever is considering it, how they're considering it, whoever doesn't want it, what is it that >> bothers them. >> Bothers them. Is it generally indifferent to you? >> That. I think we covered that. So, a separate video today. I haven't, we haven't done this type of video through OBS before, a discussion that will be a rebroadcast, practically a delayed one and not live. So, we're waiting for comments from below and >> yes. Let us know if you like this format too. >> That. Yes. It's true. I also want to hear if you liked it. Generally, are we playing ball because it's >> it's easy, it's nice, and I see a little bit of the face here in the bottom right >> that >> I like seeing it. >> For us, it's enjoyable, guys, so if you like it too >> it's true >> we'll make it a regular thing. >> Yes. I complimented you, you don't compliment me, it's okay. Sit down, we'll finish now and I'll tell you later. >> I don't need to compliment you. You're the channel owner. You don't need compliments. >> So, that's it from us, guys. Uh, see you in the next video and in our lives, as usual. So, >> as always, keep on gaming. >> Goodbye.
