Socialism's never worked. That ranks as probably one of the most flat earth, chemtrail, QAnon-worthy slogans ever sold to the public by the Epstein class.
Socialist-inspired policies literally created the first majority middle class in recorded history. Almost everything that we think of as being awesome in this modern world is a result of socialist thinking. Let's start from the beginning. Back when we lived in subsistence communities, making only what we needed to live. It was obvious back then that we should share. Sharing was not something that we forgot how to do after kindergarten. We kept it going until the moment that we learned how to grow more food than we needed.
And then the 1% who carry that dark triad gene, which turns people into narcissistic, psychopathic predators, claimed divine rights over all that extra stuff that we were making. And they decided that they should be in charge of actually everything. And they started taking the land, the water, the harvest, and they kept the rest of us working in their service for the rest of time. And that's the story of kings and lords and peasants, which are the rest of us. We call that system feudalism. That's how 99% of us have lived in abject poverty for thousands and thousands of years.
But then came factories, and productivity exploded again. Yay. But we still were working for a king. Boo. Only now he owned a factory instead of a crown. Since the dawn of time, poets and prophets and philosophers had been warning us, don't structure empires in the exact manner that attracts a dark triad to take it over and run the place. And this goes all the way back to Plato, who said a king should never have any private wealth at all because that would be a conflict of interest. And this has pretty much been the refrain of every voice of wisdom for thousands of years until what we call the age of misery. This modern experience of industrial hell, of urban overcrowding, child labor, starvation wages, brutal factory conditions that were rampant in the 1830s and '40s.
And that is when a good Christian economist named Pierre Laroo coined this term socialism to mean moral cooperation rooted in our shared humanity, as preached by the famous founder of this idea of socialism, Jesus Christ. And soon after, one of Pierre's contemporaries, Louis Blanc, coined the term capitalism as a slur to describe the opposite of the teachings of Jesus: hoarding wealth to dominate everybody else. And the fundamental idea that they had was simple. If a machine can produce everybody's needs like clothing and food and medicine and the materials that we need to make shelter, well, owning those machines, or at least the design of those machines, should be shared among us democratically because otherwise, we're still living under feudalism.
Of [clears throat] course, the dark triads called this kind of thinking insane. And the Nazi ones even stole their name, calling themselves socialists and Christians, too. And they dragged humanity through two world wars, almost killing everybody on planet Earth because that's what dark triads do when they're allowed to run amok until we finally hit rock bottom. And then the whole array of everybody else, the socialists, progressives, the labor movements that had been battling for common sense since the Civil War finally got a blueprint on the president's desk. Social Security, a New Deal for America, which included over 11 million government jobs. 10% of the US population had government jobs. Building parks and roads and schools, managing forests and land, making art, creating infrastructure. There were government loans, making home ownership possible for millions of people for the first time. And how did we pay for all this? Hm. Taxes on the ultra-rich that hit 90% at the top brackets.
And what happened? And did the world fall apart? No. The total opposite. These socialist policies built the first majority sustained middle class in recorded history, which was growing and growing from the '30s to the '40s to the '50s to the '60s and '70s until we started cutting taxes and letting corporations concentrate their power again. Today, the places with the strongest social safety nets still lead the world in happiness and health and stability because the underlying premise is common sense. That the land and water and air and sky and all the brilliant foundational ideas that we've created globally over the last 9,000 years like electricity and computing and Wi-Fi. These concepts, these ideas belong to everybody. They have to so that we can innovate, create, and have a meaningful job that pays a salary. And if these things collectively produce profits, we should all get dividends of those profits.
But when we let one person with that dark triad gene imagine that they should own it all, we don't get innovation. We certainly don't get rising standards of living. We get corruption. We get wealth hoarding, resource hoarding, and ultimately collapse. So this holiday season, don't fall for Epstein class propaganda. Boycott the corporate model as a whole. Tax the rich, not just in New York, but every city on Earth. Let's take our economy back. And since we have all the technology and resources to guarantee every human being on Earth food, housing, and healthcare, it means no one needs to hide in the woods with a pile of guns in a bomb shelter in 2025. And you can really follow the teachings of Jesus. Look, if it scares you, don't call it socialism. Call it being social. Call it living in a society. Welcome back.
