What's up everybody? Welcome to Charleston Car Videos. I'm Chad. Today, we'll be looking at two vehicles. Okay, we got the Highline, which is the higher version of the Chevy Cruze, the Premier package. And then we're going to take a look at the LS version of the Chevy Cruze, so the base model, pretty much. And the Highline, which is the one pretty much loaded up. We've got to see what the two differences are. We're not gonna spend a whole lot of time doing this video today, so we're not gonna make it a twenty-minute in-depth video. But we are gonna go through and look at both vehicles real quickly here today and see some of the differences and why both vehicles are actually a really great pick to purchase. So let's go ahead and do that.
Alright everybody, so the two vehicles we're going to be taking a look at today is this black one, which is the Premier package, and the white one down there, which is the LS. Now, some things I can tell you just right off the get-go, them you're gonna notice off to real quickly here, the things that are different. I'm about to start stuttering on anyways. Alright, the headlights on both cars, they look the same, but they are different. Okay, this one's gonna have your LED light bar right there for daytime running lights on the bottom. It looks really nice and that kinda is right there with a projector right in the middle, which looks really nice. Okay, then when you get down to the white one here, this is just gonna be a regular headlight. Both cars are running right now, but there is no daytime running light on that one at all. Okay, so and no projector projector type bulb. No fog lights on either of them. You'll notice this one's gonna have alloy wheels. That one will have a Chevrolet hubcap and a steel wheel. Both look pretty similar though for the most part. This one's gonna definitely be a lot more, a lot more luxurious in a sense. There is, they both got the 1.4 liter engine, but for some reason, the Premier package one gets 39 on the highway and that one down there, the LS gets 40 miles per gallon. So just one mile per gallon difference, not too big of a deal. But I'm thinking that the one mile per gallon difference might be because it's got a little bit of heavier set of wheels or a little more interior stuff that makes the weight of the vehicle a little more. That's my guess on that. Anyways, let's take a look at the wheels. There's the alloys right there, good-looking five-star by Chevy. They are 17-inch with a 255/40 series tire by Firestone. You will notice like the shark's fin up top is painted the same color as the car. On the white one down there, if we can zoom in, we're using our video cam today, you can see it's just a matte black finish down there or semi-gloss finish on there. So that's, you know, some little differences. Those are little things, you know, that that they do. Of course, you have the Premier logo on the back, but the rear end's gonna look pretty much the same. Not a whole lot of difference. Both cars will have backup camera. You know, backup cameras are really starting to be kind of a standard on vehicles nowadays. The key is different. This one's got remote start. That one does not. This one's got some chrome and things like that on it and the other one does not. This is a smart key, so you can just get in, push the push start button inside that car. You still have to put the key in the ignition, the old classic way. Okay, we will take a look real quickly in the trunk. Both cars will have the exact same trunk, so we're not gonna open up trunk on that one. But that's what you got going on on the back, which is actually a pretty spacious trunk, as you can see. And the back seats do fold down for a 40/60 back seat split. Here's the Maroney label. That's what they call it in the car business, a Maroney label. You can call it the window sticker, though, for layman's terms. 39 highway, 29 city. Hydrogen-bond 33. We know 1.4 liter turbo engine. This car MSRP retail is $24,390. Okay, so $24,390. But they do got a reduced price over here. And as you can see, you know, they sell all their new cars for 98 over invoice, as you see right there, plus if it has any rebates. So this one does and it's been dropped down to $20,515. So $20,515 sounds pretty good on a Premier package Cruze, right? And while we're talking about price, might as well walk over here and just take a look at this one. This one's gonna be substantially less than the other one. And it's got a retail price of $20,440. There's that mile per gallon difference. Good safety ratings. Still got the turbo engine. But yeah, $20,440. And on the window sticker there, we got it down to $16,644. So again, after the rebates and all that's a great deal at $16,644. I mean, you're way under $20 grand for a really nice car. And the same with this one over here. I mean, what a deal. But anyways, let's get on the inside. I know you all want to see some of the specs. This one's got kind of an odd color interior, different jet black and Kalahari or something like that. To me, it's kind of a brown amaretto looking interior. Again, getting different. And the other one definitely will not have that going on. But I could see door panel looks nice. All your power options, power seats, mirrors, windows right there. There's those seats, pretty sporty looking seat, I'll tell you that much. Let's go ahead and get in. Leather-wrapped steering wheel, feels nice in here. I like the color. Definitely goes with the Timberlands today I got on in my plaid shirt. But yeah, I like the start-stop. Just get in, press that button there. AC's blowing nice and cold. Good-looking screen. You know, the color even wraps up onto the dash with some leather. Very nice. No sunglass holders. There's your vanity mirror right there. Got a little LCD screen there, then a bigger one over here. It's touchscreen. It looks good. The colors are nice and vivid. I like the piano black on the inside, a nice high-gloss shiny finish. Looks really nice. Heated seats. We need a pair of cooled seats though. 12-volt, a USB, and auxiliary cupholders. That's pretty deep right there, as you can see. Center armrest also got some leather on there or leatherette. And then more storage down here. And there's no outlets or anything down there, just so you know. Glovebox right there. Got a little light in there, which is nice. And let's turn the camera around for a second. You will notice a very, very nice amount of headroom in here. I'm six foot one, and we're pretty good. Okay, so that's nice. Plenty of legroom. The seat right now is back a little bit. I probably would come up right about right here if I was driving. Okay, so that's where we're at. Let's test out the rear legroom. Both cars will be the same on that. Okay, so we want to do all that in the white one. We're just, we'll get in the white car over there and check out, see what it's got, even from hit base model car. But yeah, the back is pretty good. Again, I'm six foot one. Um, this is my position right here, feeling great. Before we go back there, look at legroom, let's just do a quick look at the backup camera. Put it in reverse, and there's your camera right there, looking good. The guidelines do move as you can see when you turn the steering wheel, so that's great. And you can actually cut those off if you don't want the guidelines on there, so it's nice they give you the option. Pretty sweet. If you got any questions about the Chevy Cruze or about the nav system or anything on the car, don't hesitate to ask. Let's check out the wipers, see how they work. Oh, wow, look at those wipers. Those are different. See how they spread like that? These are pretty sweet. So no more of this going on. You got that way too. Wipers open up like that. Alright, so that's a little different. Let's go take a look in the back. Oh, steering wheel real quick. I know some of y'all may ask, does it telescope? Yes, it does. It goes out and in and up and down. Nice. That's good for some of the folks out there that need a little bit something different with their steering wheel. Does have a heated steering wheel too, which is nice for if you're up north. But down here in Charleston, in the South, you don't need no heated steering wheel. It's too hot. Even today, halfway through September, it's 86 degrees. Alright, here's your back. Let's go ahead and hop in, take a look. And yeah, we're doing good. Okay, my feet, my legs are not touching at all, so that's nice. I wasn't expecting that, so that's good. Good stuff. Headroom's good in the back too. Let's have a look. Good. I mean, a little bit the roof comes down just a little more than the front, but still, I'm not touching. So again, I'm six foot one, doing just fine back here. You get his old coat hangers all the way around. Okay, let's take a look back here. Yeah, little spot to throw some apps, your iPads. I do not know. I'm done. We'll keep asking this every time I see it. Why is it that they don't put the little pouch on the driver's side? There must be a reason to that why the manufacturer doesn't do that. I'm not sure. If anybody knows, let me know. That little buttons right there so you can move that around. Cup holders, that's good to go. Child seat stuff. Got a nice little headrest right there. And again, these seats do fold down if you need to put something big through here. I mean, do got lighting back here, not LED, just regular lights, but gets the job done. Alright, so we're good. I don't feel too claustrophobic in the back of this car, so that's nice. I was in a Mazda CX-3 this past week. If you're not familiar with the Mazda CX-3, it's a small crossover vehicle, and I could not sit in there in the back. I mean, it was too tight. My legs were all up in the back seat. So let's shut her off. That concludes the Premier package. Let's go look over here at this one.

So like we said, we do got the Chevrolet alloy hubcaps, Continental tires, doing just fine. I think the main thing I want to look at is really the, the interior. The exterior is pretty similar for the most part. I mean, you can tell the Premier's just, you know, a little bit more dressed up. But for the price, is it worth it? That's the question. Let's go ahead and hop in. Already got it cranked up.

Alright, doing good. So no power seat. Okay, so that's a little different. You got all these different manual controls to move your seat around. Take that down for just a minute. Steering wheel does still telescope, just like the other car. Okay, I'm trying to get this seat just the way I want it. Alright, there we go. Still all power windows, power mirrors, power door locks. You know, instead of all the leather and things like that, you got cloth interior. They do wrap the cloth up onto here. Okay, I'm still got the LCD screen right there. Still get a nice LCD screen right here. Okay, so I mean, even though you're getting the LS, it's still got a nice screen. Chevy doesn't seem to to cheapen things up that much. Hit the home button. It looks very similar to what we had a minute ago. Let's check out the backup camera. There's the backup camera. Guidelines move on you're turning them. Turn them on, turn them off. Okay, so not a whole lot of difference here at all. Mirror looks exactly the same. Still know how it's up there. This does change up though, as you can see. There's no light there anymore. You do got a smaller mirror. You're gonna have ladies, you're gonna have to use this light over here or whatever right up there to shine here. So hopefully that's enough for you. You can always put your light on your phone and do it like that. But anyways, you just so got a USB, auxiliary, still got a 12-volt right there. Cupholders, still got that going on. Still got this going on. Still got that. It's pretty much exactly the same, just more dressed up on the other one. No start/stop engine button, like I said earlier. Just put the key in right there. That's about it. Not a whole lot of difference though, like I said. It's really more the the looks of it and just a few extra little features here and there that make the Premier package a little bit nicer. You still got OnStar, how about that? OnStar's pretty much come standard on about every vehicle. But the main thing is on this car is you get in one heck of a price. A little bit higher, you know, around $16,000 bucks. There's another one that's an LT. Okay, so that's your base model. You fully loaded. There's one right there in the middle. And just while we're right here, this one, the LT, is gonna have your alloy wheels. It's gonna have the little shark fin painted the same color. Still gonna have backup camera, all that good stuff. And as you can see on the interior, you got the black cloth, a little bit more chrome in there. But the interior looks pretty similar to one we were just in. The headlight on the LT will be similar to the Premier. It's gonna have your your daytime running light with projector right there. And that one's $18,932. So you're going from 16, 18, 20, you know, in some change. So there's your Cruzes for 2017.
