#39 - Enoch's Vision Of Cain As The father Of Black People (In The Book of Mormon)

Brooklyn Saint Mickell14:46

Transcription

Today we're going to be going over Enoch's Vision on how he saw Cain as the father of those known as black and in doing so what we're going to do is go into the scriptures and more specifically the Mormon scriptures. Now the Mormons or the Latter-Day Saints are a sect of Christians um who use the traditional Bible but they also have a set of scriptures that they use called The Book of Mormon and the Book of Mormon was written or published in 1830 by a guy named Joseph Smith.

Now in going over this lecture what I want to do is I want us to pay attention to how humans are able to make characters such as Enoch and the Lord say things and what they typically do is have them say things that uh justify their agenda or Justify whatever message it is that they're trying to convey right and so let's sit back right now and let's take a journey into the mind and the imagination of a human so we can follow along and get some understanding.

Moses 7:1 and it came to pass that Enoch continued his speech saying uh-oh here we go we're already coming out the gates fiery we're not wasting any time Joseph Smith is already getting ready to start speaking for the character Enoch. Let's see what he has in his imagination. Behold our father Adam taught these things and many have believed and become the sons of God.

So this is Enoch here and those who may not be familiar Enoch is a character in The Bible and you can read about him in Genesis 5. Now in the Bible there's not much written about Enoch's life it only says a few things. Enoch walked with God and he was not. It talks about how long he lived and it's a few very few things that it mentions about Enoch. Now Joseph Smith the writer of the the the passages that we're reading right now he's claiming that he had revealed from the angel uh he's revealed these other Revelations going into what we're going to read about uh about Enoch and from his Revelation we're going to find the missing parts of Enoch's life.

So let's continue going and from that time forth Enoch began to prophesy saying unto the people that as I was journeying and stood upon the place mahua and Cried unto the Lord there came a voice out of Heaven saying Turn ye and get ye upon the mount Simeon and it came to pass that I turned and went up on the mount and as I stood upon the mount I beheld the heavens open and I was clothed upon with glory and I saw the Lord and he stood before my face and he talked with me even as a man talketh one with another face to Faith and he said unto me look and I will show thee the world for the space of many generations.

It says that Enoch spoke face to face with what is supposed to be the creator of the universe like someone speaks with one of their buddies right. This is what we call comic book talk Walt Disney talk Universal Studios type of talk right that's what this is.

And it came to pass that I beheld in the valley of Shum and lo a great people which dwelt in tents which were the people of Shum and again the Lord said unto me look and I looked towards the North and I beheld the people of Canaan which dwelt in tents.

So let's pay attention right now look how he's setting this up. The Lord who Joseph Smith is making speak is saying to Enoch who Joseph Smith is also making speak he's saying keep your eyes on these people of Canaan and he's getting ready to tell us why.

And the Lord said unto me prophesy and I prophesized saying behold the people of Canaan which are numerous shall go forth and battle array against the people of Shum and shall slay them that they shall utterly be destroyed and the people of Canaan shall divide themselves in the land and the land shall be Barren and unfruitful and none other people shall dwell there but the people of Canaan.

So the people of Canaan are supposed to defeat the people of Shum and then afterwards they're supposed to divide themselves and then inhabit a place that doesn't produce any crops for behold the Lord shall curse the land with much heat and the baress thereof shall go forth forever and there was a Blackness Came Upon all the children of Canaan that they were despised among all people.

Oh snaps ooh Joseph Smith is making the Lord say that the people of Cana were despised by all the rest of the people after they became black right. And here they go again with this black term they're trying to tie people with various shades of brown to this concept of black because black has a lot of negative meanings associated with it in the western ideology right. So he's saying that the people of Canaan developed these skin tones and then afterwards they were hated by all the people right but who brought that upon them. It was the Lord right in Joseph Smith's imagination right very crafty and very skillful stuff that we're seeing here right.

Let's continue going and it came to pass that the Lord said unto me look and I looked and I beheld the land of Sharon and the land of Enoch and the land of Omar and the land of hinni and the land of Shem and the land of Haner and the land of hanani and all the inhabitants thereof and the Lord said unto me go to this people and say unto them repent lest I come out and smite them with a curse and they die.

So the Lord is saying to Enoch to go and tell these other nations of people to repent unless he come and smite them with a curse and I'm wondering what that curse is right. When you go to Second Nephi 5 and verse 21 in the Book of Mormon it talks about it in there how the Lord God did cause a skin of Blackness to come upon them. It's talking about the lamanites right.

And in Joseph Smith's imagination the God that he has invented he has an obsession with cursing people with the skin of Blackness right. If you eat too fast he might curse you with the skin of Blackness. If you look at him wrong he might curse you with the skin of Blackness. If you breathe too heavy he might curse you with the skin of Blackness right. This is Joseph Smith's imagination on what his God does right.

Let's get some more because it gets hectic in here and he gave unto me a Commandment that I should baptize in the name of the father and of the son which is full of grace and truth which beareth record of the father and the son.

And here's how they pull people in. They create the problem. This is the problem here. You're doing something wrong. Maybe your skin color isn't intact with what we believe it to be or you have certain practices. They call you uh Savages. Call you um uh uncivilized whatever it is. And then they have the solution for you. Come and get baptized. Worship Our God. This will fix your problems. This is how they've been setting it up right and we're seeing this take place when you learn to see what's actually happening.

And it came to pass that Enoch continued to call upon all the people save it were the people of Canaan to repent. All the people of those other nations were supposed to repent besides the people of Canaan because he already cursed them with a black skin right. So if the people didn't want to get cursed and hit with the black skin as well they had to repent and come join the god that Joseph Smith is creating in his story that he's coming up with right. The comic book stuff.

And so great was the faith of Enoch that he led the people of God and their enemies came to battle against them and he spake the word of the Lord and the Earth trembled and the mountains fled even according to his command and the rivers of water were turned out of their course.

Here's another perfect example on how we know that we're dealing with comic book talk. He's talking Concepts about he spake and then the Earth trembled and the mountains fled. You also can read something similar to this when you go into the New Testament in the Book of Matthew where they have the character Jesus saying that if you you believe and you have the faith of a grain of a mustard seed then you can say to the mountains to depart and they'll move right. So when someone is interpreting these things literally then you have a problem because you can bring the most religious and the most faithful people in the world. You can all bring them in front of a mountain and you can tell them with all the faith that they mustered up you can tell them to say to this mountain move and what's going to happen is after they finish saying it the mountain is going to be right there 100 out of a 100 times it's going to still be right there in the same place right. But what one could do is you could speak a word and you can get other people to move and to grab the tools you can grab the equipment and the necessary Machinery to go in and actually physically move the mountain right. A actual event that has to take place to move the contents of the mountain out of the way right. But when you're talking about just speaking it and it's supposed to just move then we're talking comic book talk right and that's what we're seeing here.

And the Roar of the Lions Was Heard out of the Wilderness and All Nations feared greatly. So powerful was the world of Enoch and so great was the power of the language which God had given him. There also came up a land out of the depth of the sea and so great was the fear of the enemies of the people of God that they fled and stood AAR off and went upon the land which came up out of the depth of the Sea and the Giants of the land also stood AAR off off and there went forth a curse upon all people that fought against God and from that time forth there were Wars and bloodshed among them.

But the Lord came and dwelt with his people and they dwelt in righteousness. The fear of the Lord was upon All Nations. So great was the glory of the Lord which was upon his people and the Lord blessed the land and they were blessed upon the mountains and upon the high places and did flourish and the Lord called his people Zion because they were of one heart and one mind and dwelt in righteousness and there was no poor among them.

And Enoch continued his preaching in righteousness unto the people of God and it came to pass in his days that he built a city that was called the city of Holiness even Zion and it came to pass that Enoch talked with the Lord and he said unto the Lord surely Zion shall dwell in safety forever. But the Lord said unto Enoch Zion have I blessed but the residue of the people have I cursed.

So the guy that Joseph Smith has invented has a certain people that he has blessed which are called Zion but the residue of the people have been cursed. Everyone else is cursed. Now let's find out exactly how Joseph Smith's imagination fulfills the rest of this story of the people being cursed.

And it came to pass that the Lord showed unto Enoch all the inhabitants of the earth. So we're seeing all the people of the Earth right now which is shown to Enoch and he beheld and lo Zion in process of time was taken up into heaven and the Lord said unto Enoch behold mine Abode forever. So Zion was taken up into the heaven and saying Zion were the people that belong to the god of Joseph Smith's imagination. They belong to him.

And Enoch also beheld the residue of the people which were the sons of Adam. So here's the rest of the people who were the sons of Adam. Let's see what's going to happen. And they were a mixture of all the seed of Adam save it was the seed of Cain. And there's a mixture of all these people that are the sons of Adam and excluding the seed of Cain. Why is it excluding the seed of Cain. Here we go. For the seed of Cain were black and had not Place among them. The seed of Cain came out as people known to be black and they had no place among the rest of the sons of Adam right.

And when we understand Cain the character Cain in the biblical narrative Cain is supposed to be the first murderer. He killed his brother um Abel and the Lord God did set a mark upon Cain and Joseph Smith in his imagination he's taking it further and he's saying the Mark is the seed of black right. People known to be black right. Some imagination that Joseph Smith has right. And the rest of the people too.

And so what I will do is I will give Joseph Smith credit because when you read in the Book of Mormon it does have a decent storyline right. He is um quite skilled and quite artistic just like many other people who write the religious texts right. They're highly skilled at what they do. He in my opinion he would make a good writer for Disney Marvel DC just like many of the other people who write the religious text. They would also make great writers for those companies right. They have a um a broad sense of imagination a um a colorful sense of imagination right. They have all types of um ideas and and and events that take place within their imagination and they're have a skill of expressing it in the written word right.

And so we see right now hopefully we've been able to see an example on how people can make like the characters of Enoch the character of God the Lord you can make these characters speak and say things that come out of anybody's imagination and so hope I was able to pass on some valuable information to you.

And what I want to say is I want to encourage people to continue to question and question until you are absolutely satisfied regarding the answers that you receive right. And keep questioning no matter how offended people get how mad somebody gets right. Understand that this is your life right and you have the right to seek. It doesn't matter if other people don't want to seek if they have a a plateau that they've reached in their understanding it doesn't mean that you have to stop there at that Plateau. Keep seeking until you are satisfied with the information that you come upon.

So I want to thank you for watching this video Until the End. My name is Brooklyn St Michael and I'll see you on the next one.
