Can you believe we're almost at the Finish Line? This talk is dedicated to briefly going through the guidelines for your final assignment in this course. Our aim was to give you the basic tools to engineer your Ventures using the materials you've prepared in the previous assignments and throughout the course. You are now requested to assemble everything together and create a two-minute presentation that will explain how you will create your Venture, your action plan.
The presentation must include an introduction to your Venture concept, which you formulated in unit 4, including the idea, the benefit you will give your users, and what need you are answering for them, etc. Also, you will include a description of what your prototype will look like, based on your work in unit 6. Your presentation shall also include a description of two risks that your Venture faces and a mitigation plan for each risk, based on the assignment in unit 7. Next, a description of the critical path of your project, including the top five or six activities, their estimated length, etc., based on your work in unit 8. You will also include a description of the initial teammates you will need to recruit, based on your answer to the discussion board in unit 9. Finally, a description of the tasks needed to set up your venture, some of the major aspects that you feel you don't know yet and need to further research, investigate, or develop (for example, market research, competitors' analysis, product development, etc.). We advise that you formulate these steps by going over the startup evaluation table from Unit 10 and thinking which of them needs to be done in order to meet each of these criteria. An estimate of the time you will take to set up your Venture is also recommended.
These are what the presentation has to include. Now let's talk about a few guidelines regarding the structure. First of all, your presentation must be clear and well-designed. There is a lot of information to include, so make sure you construct it well and focus on the most important things. Make sure you stick to the time limits; this is meant to be the highlight, so two minutes are more than enough time. Finally, this has to be a well-thought-out story, so make sure it is constructed well, that one part leads to another, and that it comes together as one cohesive story.
The submission of this assignment will be in unit 12, and prior to the submission, you'll have a checkup list to help make sure you included all the major components in the presentation. Remember that the previous assignments contain most of the materials you need in order to complete your presentation in terms of content, but it still requires additional work, mostly in crafting the flow and packaging it as an entire Venture. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you plan in advance and give yourself time to create a well-designed presentation.
