Water Spirits are real, and they're raging. And in this season, you may have heard people prophesying about Leviathan's witchcraft or the seven heads of Leviathan. Maybe you've never heard of Leviathan, or maybe you don't know enough about it to discern whether or not it's attacking you.
This is Jennifer L. Clair, and today I'm going to share with you 10 things you need to know about the Leviathan Spirit. Now, this thing has attacked me more times than I can count on one hand. I live in South Florida, and these marine demons are very, very active. Make no mistake, Leviathan is not just some mythical sea creature in the Bible. This is a real force, a marine demon, a water spirit, and it wreaks havoc in relationships, in ministries, in your thought life. And too many believers are ignorant of these devices.
So let me jump in with no further ado and share with you 10 critical things you need to know about the spirit of Leviathan, so that you can recognize it and stand against it. I do have a book called "The Spiritual Warrior's Guide to Defeating Water Spirits." If you want to grab that, you can find it wherever you get books online. Let's jump right into this.
Number one, Leviathan is a twisting spirit, often referred to as a twisting spirit. Listen, Isaiah 27:1 is where we see that. I'm giving you scripture. You know, this is a primary tactic of Leviathan to twist communication, to distort words, to create misunderstandings. Have you ever felt like somebody just completely misunderstood your intentions? Just somehow the words just got twisted before they reached the other person's ear? That's Leviathan sewing division through miscommunication, misunderstanding.
There was a prophet friend of mine one time. We went to church together, and there were several times where she literally saw words in the spirit. You know, words are spirit, and they are life. Jesus' words were spirit and they are life. Words release spirits. But in any case, the people would speak something, and she would literally see this demon twisting it up before it landed in the person's ears, and then she would watch subsequently as misunderstanding, strife, division ensued because this is a twisting serpent.
Number two thing you need to know about Leviathan is this is highly associated with pride. Listen, and in particular, spiritual pride. Job 41, we see a lot about Leviathan in the Book of Job. Job 41 paints this really vivid picture of a creature that's just full of pride. Uh, his scales are pride. That's Job 41, verse 15. And it's really easy where there's pride for Leviathan to sweep in, to sneak in, to creep in, to crawl in, to slither in. Leviathan will stir to work up pride in you. Tap right into because we all have, you know, we've all got some pride, right? And it'll tap, push those buttons to to just sort of block humility. And scripture says that Leviathan is the king of the sons of pride. So this is where you see pride, that's just a wide-open door. We really need to humble ourselves. We need to humble ourselves. If we can't be reasoned with, we're not walking in God's wisdom. We're walking in pride. Wisdom from above is first, peaceable, easy to be entreated, full of mercy. So when you find yourself knee-jerk reacting to pride, know that that could be Leviathan setting you up for destruction. Pride comes, pride comes before destruction. A haughty spirit, before a haughty spirit comes before destruction. Pride comes before the fall.
So listen, the enemy is trying to twist my words right now. I break and bind every attack of Leviathan's witchcraft against me in the mighty name of Jesus. We'll get through this broadcast. You need to get equipped. Some of you may just never have seen it this way before.
Leviathan, number three, Leviathan targets relationships. Leviathan thrives on division, whether it's between friends, spouses, ministry partners. This spirit literally works overtime to breed strife and division, to cause covenant breaking. So if you're experiencing this sudden and unexplainable tension with somebody, it's possible that Leviathan has been sewing seeds of discord either in your heart, or the heart of another person, or in both of your hearts. This spirit is dangerous. And we know that where there's strife, there's confusion and every evil work. James, the Apostle of practical faith, where there's strife, there is confusion and every evil work. And so you got to really guard against strife because that is how, and which is rooted in pride, which is what opens a door for Leviathan.
Now, along with that and in association with that is number four. Leviathan creates chaos in communication. This spirit doesn't just twist a word or two. This spirit will twist entire conversations to where the person on the other end of the phone or across the table is hearing something completely different than what you said. You never intended anything to be taken the way that it was. Leviathan can work with spirits of offense to create this chaos in communication. Listen, you have to understand this. I've tried to teach this to you. Demons work together. Typically, they don't work alone. They work together. Leviathan works with offense. Leviathan works to bring offense and works with the spirit of offense. It can make people hear things you never said, or like feel some kind of way because of what they read between the lines that you never said and never intended to convey.
This is why, really, if you're sensing a Leviathan attack, what I do with people is I'll tell them, listen, I sense there's going to be some kind of an attack against us over this ministry weekend. So please let, remember that I said this. Please be on alert. Why? Because if you can get ahead of it, you can remind the person, remember I told you, I told you, let's not let the enemy get in here. And so we need spirit-led communication. We need to be slow to speak when Leviathan is raging.
Number five. Are you tracking with me so far? Number five, Leviathan works to intimidate. Leviathan is described in scripture as fierce. Job 41:9-10 says, no man can subdue it. No one can put a hook in his nose. This is a raging wild beast, a sea creature. Its goal is to make you feel overwhelmed, to intimidate you, like your prayers and spiritual warfare are just absolutely powerful against it, powerless, rather, powerless against it. Nothing's impossible with God. God himself. This is His battle. This is the battle of the Lord. The battle belongs to the Lord.
Number six, Leviathan attacks the mind. Now, many demons work against the mind. We know from Joyce Meyer's famous book, "The Battlefield of the Mind." This spirit goes heavy on the mind. You know, I had a friend one time, and he moved down here from a different state. And one day, you know, he wanted to talk to me on the phone. And I, I couldn't. I literally had construction workers jackhammering. They took off our balconies. There were blue screens over our windows. We couldn't even. And it was like, Jack and I had told him during the day, I, I can't talk because I don't, I can't, it's so noisy. Well, he knew this, but the spirit attacked his mind. He got so mad and so offended that he picked up his family and moved out of the state, leaving behind the ministry that we were all working in together, a group of us, which caused a lot of hurt for a lot of people. Then he moved back at a later time, and the same thing happened. He got offended, ran away. Leviathan is a fleeing spirit. It attacks the mind. It confuses your thoughts, and it makes you second-guess yourself, second-guess others, think the worst about others. You get a foggy mind. This is witchcraft. This is witchcraft. You can't focus. Maybe recurring misunderstandings. That's a sign Leviathan is in operation. And so we need to do what the word says, 2 Corinthians 10:5, to cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. We've got to see this for what it is.
Leviathan, number seven, Leviathan works in secrecy. Leviathan works in secrecy. It's behind the scenes. It's subtle. Remember the scripture says that Satan was the most subtle, the most clever, the slickest creature in the garden. So Leviathan, like most demons, wants to flow secretly, wants to go up under the radar screen. Does not want to be seen. If you can see it, you can defeat it. What do I always say to you? An enemy exposed is an enemy defeated. But an enemy that's hidden cannot be forbidden. So this is trying to like make puppets out of people, subtly planting seeds of pride, discord, offense, confusion, strife. And by the time people recognize this Leviathan spirit at work, the damage can feel just overwhelming. The damage can be very deep. So discernment is really key. You can't just take off my little checklist here. I'm just making you aware of some things so you can better discern. You might want to take my school of discernment and learn how to discern a lot of things, or my school of spiritual warfare, because you need to get equipped. This thing is deadly. It kills. What does the enemy come to do? John 10:10, the enemy comes but for to steal, to kill, and to destroy, right? So we need to be savvy.
Now, Leviathan, number eight, Leviathan requires strategic spiritual warfare because, scripture, you can't go toe-to-toe with Leviathan. Scripture says you can't put a hook in its nose. This is where we see people getting such high-level retaliation that their body is hit, their mind is hit, their finances are hit. This is my experience. Now, if you believe differently, you're welcome to your belief. But my experience after about 25 years of dealing with these things, it's better to come against the witchcraft that Leviathan is releasing. It's better to uproot the seeds that Leviathan is planting. It's a different strategy because we need to partner with the Holy Spirit. We need to walk in humility. You may need to fast. And you know, the power of His word, it will not return void. But we have to deal with the fruit and the strategy of Leviathan, which is the witchcraft. So most of the time, what I do is I come against the witchcraft first because that's what's attacking my mind. Then I can think clearly, and then I begin to uproot the seeds. Then I pray for the people for blinders to be removed, for witchcraft to be broken, because you can't just go toe-to-toe with Leviathan, in my opinion. It's a very dangerous thing. It said that's one of the only times in scripture that we see, uh, that this is the Lord's battle in terms of it says you can't put a hook in Leviathan. I want you to go read that. I want you to see it in scripture with your own eyes. It's not something that you go up against on by yourself on a Saturday morning. No weekend warrior stuff going on here. Come on.
Number nine, Leviathan. Leviathan can influence entire regions because it's a principality. This is a very high-ranking demon. I would say that if you had a, it's not Satan. Teach that Leviathan was the same as Satan, and I thought, well, that makes sense. But I've talked to other people who say, no, it's not Satan. It is probably his second in command or very, very high up there on the hierarchy, not just a regular principality. This is, there's ranks of principalities, just like there's ranks of angels, ranks of principalities. Uh, Michael, scripture says, was the chief of princes. So Michael, a principality, but Michael being the chief of princes. So he was the highest ranking of that class of angels, right? And so there's ranks of different principalities and different demons, not just the hierarchy, but also ranks within the hierarchy. And so Leviathan can affect just entire regions. I was in Sydney, Australia, one time, and I understand Perth is similar, and there was just such a presence of Leviathan. I literally walked around in a stupor for about an hour. Literally, it was the craziest thing I'd ever seen, and I realized what it was. It was Leviathan's witchcraft. It can operate over churches, regions, families. So if you notice this consistent pattern of pride and division in a specific area, you know, specific region, it could be the influence of Leviathan. So we need to dislodge this stronghold. But that requires people changing their mind and breaking free and seeing the influence because principalities work on the mind. You understand this is not just, you don't cast Leviathan out of somebody. You can cast a spirit of pride out of, but you can't cast out Leviathan. Principalities don't live in people.
So God has already defeated Leviathan, thankfully, right? So we're just enforcing His victory. But Isaiah 27, verse one says, in that day, the Lord with His severe sword, great and strong, will punish Leviathan, the fleeing serpent, Leviathan, that twisted serpent. So Jesus already defeated the principalities and the powers on the cross. He made an open show of them, readily put them to shame. But Jesus already secured victory over every demonic force, including Leviathan. And so if you, you're just working to enforce Christ's victory, you're standing on the truth. And it begins, it begins with humility. I was recently in a situation, and it was just nasty, and the Holy Spirit said, humility is the way out. And you need to move in the opposite spirit. So this spirit of Leviathan will thrive where pride reigns. So we need to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas in our heart where pride may have taken root and confess it and repent of it, renounce it, denounce it, release it, let it go. And ask the Lord for the grace of humility. We need to stay grounded in the word. We need to surround ourselves with spirit-filled intercessors who understand how to shut down strife at the onset, right, to shut these things down that open a door for Leviathan. And when Leviathan rears its head, remind yourself of God's promises that the enemy is already defeated. You got to humble yourself. That's how you stand against the spirit. It is the king of the sons of pride. So look out for disunity, look out for intimidation, look out for pride, look out for twisted communications, look out for chaos, look out for attacks on the mind, witchcraft, secrecy. So Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask you, Lord, Lord, that you would forgive us for any pride that we've allowed to take up residence in our heart. Lord, we reject pride. We renounce it. We want no part of pride. We don't want to have anything in common with Leviathan. So forgive us, Lord, and cleanse us. Wash us with the water of Your Word. Cast our sin as far as the East is from the West. And we break all agreement with Leviathan, and we take authority over Leviathan's witchcraft in the name of Jesus. We break the powers of Leviathan's witchcraft coming at our minds, our businesses, our families, our ministries, our finances. We break every twisted, every effort to twist communications in the name of Jesus. We cover our relationships with the blood of Jesus, and we ask You to help us to be spirit-led in our communication. We break and bind the spirit of chaos that tries to seep into our lives, our families, our business, our ministries. We refuse to be intimidated, and we break the spirit of intimidation in the name of Jesus. You've not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. So we break every attack off our mind, every lie that we're believing, all the deception, anything that would hinder love or hinder the truth. We ask You, Lord, to break it off our mind in the name of Jesus. We come against every secret strategy and all opposition to the truth in our lives in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. Amen and amen.
