Gemini has features that might actually make you ditch ChatGPT. I test all three major AIs every day on real business tasks, and I keep finding specific areas where Gemini just wins. Like when I was doing my taxes, Gemini caught deductions that Claude and ChatGPT completely missed. And once you know these use cases, you'll know exactly when to switch. So, let me show you.
Alrighty. So, one of the first and most obvious features that helps Gemini stand out from the others is speed. So, when you ask other AI models for a question, they're a lot slower than what Gemini would be. Now, let me actually show you what this looks like.
If I were to race these different models, which I do on a daily basis when I'm asking all the models the same exact question, I'll turn up the reasoning on all the models. So, for GPT, I'll set it to GPT 5.2 with extended reasoning on. For Claude, I'll set this to Opus 4.5 with extended reasoning on. And then Gemini, I'll set this to Pro. For all of these, Gemini is by far the fastest every single time. Claude is number two, and then GPT is definitely the slowest.
And it's important that we avoid a misconception that a lot of people have, that I used to have, where I would assume that speed equated to intelligence, meaning that if something got done slower, it likely spent more time thinking about it, meaning that it's going to have a better answer. So, I would assume that since it took GPT 5 minutes to respond to me, it's going to give me back a better response, which is sometimes true, but it's not always true. And sometimes Gemini will finish a lot faster and give me more an inclusive answer.
And to put numbers to this, oftentimes what'll happen is Gemini will respond within 5 to 15 seconds. And then Claude will respond probably within 30 seconds to a minute. And then GPT, depending on the type of task and the level of reasoning, it could take between probably 3 minutes and 5 minutes. And if you use Pro, forget about it. It's going to take like 10 to 15 minutes.
So, the lesson here is that if you're doing daily tasks such as basic research, having AI write emails, even doing some data analysis or whatever else, likely if you want to get faster responses and not have to wait so long, Gemini is probably a good choice for you because you're still getting a lot of intelligence and there's not much of a trade-off between intelligence and waiting.

And that's our first stand out: speed. The next thing is connecting the dots or strategic thinking. And this specific feature is something that is only found through a lot of usage of using this model versus the other models. And what do I mean by connecting the dots? Well, say we give Gemini a bunch of different data sets. So, maybe we give it some financial files. We give it some context on our business, some previous emails, maybe some reports from an external source, and then we have it research updated information on a specific question. We give it all that information. Well, what it can do is it can pull in all this data from disparate data sources and connect dots that other models tend to struggle with, which can be really important for some use cases.
So, let me tell you a story. I was doing my taxes a few weeks ago for my business, the first time around for me. And when I was doing the taxes, I had all three models acting as advisors. So, I had Claude Opus 4.5, GPT 5.2 extended thinking, and then Gemini 3 Pro. And I started asking them all the same questions because I wanted to see the different types of responses I would get. And after about 30 to 45 minutes of interaction, I realized consistently time and time again, Gemini 3 Pro was giving me more accurate responses and more novel insights. And while doing my taxes, it found a series of deductions that saved me thousands of dollars that the other models completely missed.
And the important thing here is that this is not solely for my experience. When working with clients, time and time again, I hear them tell me the same story in relation to Gemini 3 Pro. And some other use cases they've shared with me where they've seen this useful. So, I've already walked you through the tax preparation, but some other areas here are strategic planning. So, they're doing strategic planning for investing into their business, and they found that Gemini 3 Pro gave them unique insights on how they could go about doing so. Another one is preparing for high-stakes meetings. So, maybe they need an alternative perspective and making sure that they're conveying their points effectively. Well, time and time again, when you're going to a board meeting or an investor meeting, my clients always state that Gemini 3 Pro gives them the most unique take. And then finally, I've had different types of clients in investment banking and hedge funds where they're able to do additional analysis on data and finances with Gemini 3 Pro compared to other models.
So, the TL;DR and the takeaway on this is that if you have a use case that needs strategic thinking and the AI's ability to pull disparate data sources from a variety of locations, string them all together to answer a hard question, this is probably a good model to start with.
Now, our next feature here is actually tightly coupled to strategic thinking, which is the ability for the AI to look at a lot of data. So, here we're talking about the context window. So, what does that mean? It's basically the AI's memory. So, how big the AI's head is and how much information you can shove into the AI's head without it forgetting. And Gemini is one of the few popular models today that allows you to give it up to a million tokens within the context window off the shelf. But you might be thinking, what the heck is a token? It's basically part of a word. And a better way to convey this is through books. So, imagine that we shoved four to five books inside of Gemini's brain. That's basically how much it can fit for the million token window. ChatGPT provides around 400,000 tokens, and Claude provides around 240,000 tokens. So, their memory, the ability for the AI to hold more information as a head, is limited compared to Gemini, which is why it stands out compared to those in this specific use case.
But it's important to state that even though we can give it a million tokens, it doesn't necessarily mean it's going to use all those tokens effectively. What do I mean by that? Often times with many of these models, around the 50% mark is where their intelligence starts to degrade. So, once you fill up the AI's memory, it's going to go like this. So, say this vertical line is intelligence. This horizontal line here is context. So, basically how full the memory is over time, it's going to do this. So, the more context we put into the AI's head, the dumber it gets. With that being said, that 50% mark is much higher for Gemini than it is for other models because of how big the memory is.
So, the TL;DR here is if you have large files that you need to feed to the AI and you need it to parse that data or pull information out for you, and it exceeds much higher than the 240,000 or the 400,000, I recommend going with Gemini.
Now moving on to our next feature is PDF processing. So, the ability for the AI to process complex PDFs, and this really comes down to Gemini's vision capability. So, it can see things much more effectively than Claude and ChatGPT can. And when I say complex PDFs, what do I mean? Well, specifically, I'm sure you've seen those PDFs that maybe have some handwriting on them. They may have some complex diagrams associated with them. They might even have photos inside of it and other types of mixed formats inside of the PDF. Some examples of this could be maybe receipts that you've pulled out that you want to put in for your expenses. Maybe that receipt has some beer stains on it and it has some pen writing on it or whatever else. Or you have some contracts that have all those convoluted sticky notes shoved in and highlights and things scratched out or whatever else. The AI can pick those up. And I've tested this methodically with the different models, and I found time and time again, Gemini 3 Pro is by far the best at parsing this information out from complex PDFs. So, if you have PDFs to process that are complex, lean on Gemini Pro for that.
And to that same point, in addition to processing PDFs, it's also good at processing images. And note, I'm not talking about image generation, but analyzing images. So, Gemini 3 Pro and even Nano and Pro, which is a feature that a lot of people don't use Nano Banana Pro for, you can give those models an image and say, "In this image, I want you to give me feedback or assess the image for something." And what are some examples for this? Well, a lot of people create presentations, right? So, you're creating slides for some reason, and you want to know, you want to get the perspective of an expert. So, you can feed that slide to Gemini 3 Pro or Nano Banana Pro, and you can say, "I want you to take on a specific persona of a designer or an investor or something else," and I maybe I want to know, "Does this slide logically flow? Is it intuitive when it comes to the so what at the top of the slide? Are there any improvements I can make on the visuals?" Things like that. So, you can give the AI that, and it'll give you text feedback on what could be improved. That same approach and process can be applied to infographics that you're putting out for your business, or it could be applied really to any type of marketing tactics when you're using images. So, this is an overlooked feature for Gemini, specifically 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro, that I think a lot of people can get benefit from.
Speaking of Nano Banana Pro, let's actually talk about that really quick. So, a lot of people already know that Nano Banana Pro is by far the best image generation model out there today. Not just for generating images from text, but also editing images, which is very important for most businesses because if you're creating content for social media, for ads, for whatever else, you may have a product, a service, a logo that you want to stay consistent throughout all the images. And Nano Banana Pro is very good at maintaining consistency across those images. So, if you're doing anything related to creative stuff, Nano Banana Pro is the go-to model which sits inside of Gemini.
Onto our next feature, which is a bit of a surprise, which is voice mode. So, what does that mean? Voice mode is basically you talking to the AI and the AI talking back to you. And I love using this when I'm on the move. So, I'll take my headphones, I'll put them in, and I'll go on a walk or a drive. And while doing so, I'll be brainstorming about a specific business problem, I'll be researching something, I'll be learning about a specific topic, and I'll be talking back and forth with an AI in a Socratic way. And Gemini is very good and useful for this. So, if we actually compare Gemini against the other three models, currently, I'll be honest, ChatGPT right now is by far the best when it comes to advanced voice mode, but Gemini is a close second from my experience. Claude is by far the worst. It's really bad. It's it's like third place is like way down here. It's not great. But if you already have access to Gemini or you're already inside of the Google Suite ecosystem, you might as well take advantage of this Gemini Live feature where you can talk to it going back and forth.
Alrighty. So, on to our bonus section. So, for those of you that have stuck around, I have a sweet, sweet secret bonus section for you of things that likely you have overlooked because it's not actually inside of Gemini. It's inside of the Google AI Studio platform, but it's the same thing as Gemini, and you get access to it as well as a Gemini user. And there's two specific secrets I want to show you here.
So, first within Google AI Studio, how do you get here? First question is just go to aistudio.google.com, and it's going to take you into the platform, and you can use your same account that you're using for Gemini.
Our first bonus feature here is the token counter. So, with this, we talked about AI's memory in the past, how big the memory is and how much data you can put into it. Well, if you're playing with large files, you may want to know how many tokens that is and if it's going to fill up the AI's memory quickly or not. And we can actually use a tool to figure out exactly how many tokens a file is for free from the AI Studio. So, if we go to the AI Studio and we go to the playground, all we need to do is drop in a file into this chat, and it's going to tell us exactly how many tokens it is. So, let me actually drop in two files here. I'll drop in an image and a transcript from a previous video. And as soon as it loads, after it loads, it tells me how many tokens each one is. So, you can see in total, it's around 4,400 tokens. But down here, I can see the transcript is 3,000 and the image is a thousand. This is extremely useful when you're trying to figure out how many tokens you're taking up in the AI's memory to retain the intelligence and don't allow it to degrade too quickly. That's our first secret bonus feature.
The second one is the build feature. So, the build feature is something that a lot of people overlook because it's somewhat new and not highly talked about, but there's a very specific reason this is useful. And if you're trying to prototype any type of product, this is made for people that are non-technical. So, you can go in there and you can basically explain what you want the AI to build. It'll build it for you. And more importantly, it'll easily deploy it for you so other people in the world can play with it. And this is very similar to tools like Lovable, Bault, New, Vzero, Replet Agent, all these tools that non-technical people are using to build products and prototypes. This is very similar to that, but just inside the Google ecosystem. And the reason this specific builder, in my opinion, stands out against all those others that I mentioned is that you can embed AI features into your product. So, if you want to add image generation or the ability to process PDFs or images or advanced voice mode or all types of other things, it easily does that for you. So, let me show you. If I go to Google AI Studio here, I go to the build section. So, you see it says "Build" here. I click that, and this is the build area. And right below this text box is "Supercharge your app with AI." So, you can add all these different AI features into your product. And the builder, by far, is probably one of the best builders that I found that easily implements those features without you having too many issues. And trust me, I've built a lot of AI features into a lot of products, and it's not easy. And doing it through this is much easier. So, I highly recommend if you want to put AI into your product, I'd recommend doing it here first if you're okay with Gemini being the source of that AI.
And there you go. Those are the reasons as to why Gemini stands out compared to the other big models. So, as a quick recap, what did we talk about? Well, first we talked about speed. So, if patience isn't your primary virtue, use Gemini because it's a lot faster. Next is strategic thinking. So, the AI can pull a lot of different disparate data sources from different places and string them together more effectively than other models can. The next is the context window. So, part of the reason why the strategic thinking works so well is because the context window for the AI, the AI's memory, its brain, is much bigger than all the other models when it comes to how much it can shove into it. Right now, it's at a million tokens. Next, we have the ability for the AI to see things more effectively than other models. So, it can process really complex PDFs as well as give you feedback on different types of visuals such as slides, infographics, etc. And then also, like I mentioned previously, it's the best model when it comes to generating images, especially if you want to keep a character or logo or a product consistent across images. Up next, we have voice. So, we've already talked about how GPT is the best, but Gemini is a close second. So, if you already are using the Google Suite ecosystem, you might as well take advantage of this feature so you can think while you're on the move. And then finally, we have the bonus section, which is the AI Studio.
