Welcome back to another edition of Saved Folder Test Kitchen, where I'm finding recipes that I have in my saved folder and testing them out to see if they will turn into good freezer meals for my freezer meal stash.
However, this one is kind of cheating because the recipe that I kept seeing and saving from so many different creators was already a freezer meal. This is frozen hot pot meal prep. And instead of freezing it in a glass container, I'm just testing out if it will freeze well into two cup super cubes trays.
So, I layered in all of my veggies raw, then some dashi powder, then my frozen sliced beef rolls. And I also wanted to see if I could freeze this hot pot spicy soup base that I found. The package didn't have any realable option, so I thought I could freeze it in my 2 Tbsp super cubes tray.
Unfortunately for me, when this came out of the freezer, for whatever reason, this one did not freeze solid. So, that was a little bit of a fail, but I was able to just scoop out a little bit and add it to my hot pot when I was ready to make it.
This was super easy to make. This meal came together in honestly just a few minutes. I just add the frozen hot pot cube to a pot with a little bit of water, then the spicy soup base. Let it boil until everything is cooked through and dinner is served.
