Yeah. Oh, sorry. I put a uh it's a a doorbell right there. No, you can wear them. Today. We are. So, if you can roll out some mats like right here for me. Behind you, right? Yeah. Like right right here.

Did you go to Africa to study or did you study here? Uh, so I've basically studied here but uh I went to Nigeria to go and get initiated and we uh No, it's all good. We uh we also keep in contact with them. Yeah. So while I'm not there studying, I do like they're over there all the time. Okay. And they teach us. There you go. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Hello. Power. Come on. Do I have the wrong one again? 827225. Let's see. 827. Yeah, go ahead. 2251245. Okay. Huh? That's the right one. Nobody's there. Is today a holiday I don't know about? Okay. Cool beans then.

Hey, Carro. But I don't think I got how long you on our class slides when you had all the offerings and stuff. I didn't. No, she doesn't take oranges. So, you just don't do them at this practice? We don't do it in this practice. Wow. So in in uh our that's mostly a look with me thing. We don't really give. Okay. Okay. I didn't see. Oh yeah. It was on there but. Okay. Oh, some Hobie. Oh, thank you. Thank you. Yes. Appreciate it. Okay. [Laughter] Oh yeah, it is like right there. It's like, hi, hello everyone. Not that this. I want this. Whoops. Not that. This over here. And we gonna put this right here. Yes. And then this goes here. And this is going to share screen there. All right. All right, I think we ready. So obviously. Okay. Uh, let me see if anybody actually. I never saw anybody join online. I guess this is just going to be for recording purposes then. All right. Well, I'll talk loud. Um, so I'm gonna Let me scoot up here. My face this way. I can't be this far away. I got to change the screen. God damn. You got the little remote. Dang it. No, I ain't got no remote there. Well, I have a remote, but it don't work with this. I don't know why I I just. So, okay. I'mma try to face like here. All right, I will join you all on the floor in just a sec.

So, um, thank you all for coming out. Good to see your faces. Um, so today obviously we're going to go over our spiritual work for Ashon. By the end of today, you should be able to know how to give offerings to Ashon and pretty much all the water arisha because the water arisha kind of they're all very very very similar. So Aona well aba I'm not 100% sure just because we don't really work with oba a lot a lot um but definitely yonja and ash is pretty much this way. Okay. So we're going to start by talking about the template. Does anybody remember what are the parts of the prayer stab? All right, take a stab. Okay. So, what's your stab first? You have to introduce yourself. There's something before that. Before that, oh, the Oh, the Yes. First is the libation in most times. Most times, not oon, but most times. After libation is what? Ibasha. After ibasha is oriki. After is when you introduce yourself. Okay. So after ori you introduce yourself. This is your prayer. After your prayer what do you do? Offerings. After offerings what do you do? Yes. Sort of. Yes. Yeah, the closing basically the closing ritual. The closing ritual there is essentially a few different parts that we kind of teach at this stage. The way that we teach it at this stage is not necessarily the way you will always do it. It can move around, be reconfigured a little bit here and there, but it kind of all follows pretty much the same format. Okay.

Now, this is the prayer template that we're talking about. So prepare your offerings like bring all your stuff together. Try to get as much as you think that you will need prior to you starting so you don't have to get up. Uh it'll be good to kind of like stay plugged into the ritual and not necessarily like have to leave for anything. So with ashon and with the water arisha, we start with libation. My bad. I literally said we don't do that. Anna is up there. We start with hamage. We start with ibashe. So um and there is one thing I forgot to ask. So mainly there is right before you do ibash you just like we do everything else pick up your offerings and pray pray pray including your ob touch to your head touch to your chest put it down and then start ibasha. Okay. So to place your prayers in your offerings or to pray over your offerings is a better play better way to say it to pray over your offerings and what you have. Then after ibash we go into oriki. After oriki we have adura. Adura is prayers. Then is gifts. Then we do fmini. We do kosi. We do obi. So the fini kosi and obi are all part of the closing ritual. Okay. Coffee. Okay. All right. That being said, let's prepare. So, what do you got? Obt. You got beer. All right. So to prepare we need some things. So one you want to most of the time we have noise makers for all these things but a lot of times aon have bells. They also use their brass bangles sometimes like when they use the bells they also because they because aon people a lot of times have a lot of brass on so they'll shake like this. So brass bells and uh um liquor honey echo cola nut. These are all, you know, you don't have to come with echo every single time, but liquor, honey, colonut is a decent enough starting place with along. Cool.

All right. So now pray to your offerings. You do that everything. So you pray over them and you can whisper, right? You whisper your prayers and after that touch to your head, touch to your chest. We typically just don't pray silently like with no sound at all. Okay. So, uh, what we're going to do, we're going to make a collective offering. So, I've had you individually pray over your items. So, uh I want you to turn around. We're going to face the shrine. Okay. So, everybody's afraid you place your stuff in front of you so I know where it is. Okay. So, what I want you to do, take this colon nut. This all I'm going to be throwing. Take this colon nut and I want you to just touch it to your head and touch it to your chest. All right. Pass it around. Touch to your head. Touch to your chest. Okay. So, this will be our colonut that we're going to throw on behalf of the people. We're going to place our offerings either on the plate or just up here. But I'm going to show you how to present the offerings to our. So, just like I was talking about with. Come close. Um, just as I was talking about with like at this stage, you don't I'm not going to have you go into the pots and stuff like that. So, we're just going to present it to the pots and then place it outside. All right. So, I'll show you how to do that as well. Um, and we'll work our well way up into putting stuff in the pot. I don't want you putting stuff in the pot until basically you know how to clean the pot because put stuff in the pot, you know how to get it out. Uh, also so that to preserve the space and everything and not like help collect the flies. Um, it's good to if you're going to bring things like to be able to pick them up. The stuff stays at the shrine for like 3 days and it needs to be thrown away. Um, if it starts to rot, you need to throw it away. So, anything that if you're up here and you like see um things beginning to rot, you can throw it away. Do not leave it there. You don't have to leave it there. Okay. Uh, nothing anything looking like it's rotting throw it away uh regardless of how long it's been. So um and this is also a good rule of thumb for your own shrine room. You don't have to allow things to rot in your shrine room. Like obviously if you put things there, fruits and stuff like that, it's going to draw some bugs. But you don't have to let it sit there and get gnats filling up your entire space. That's not that's not necessary. Um, so we got all our stuff prepared. All right, let's let's go. Let's get ready then.

Okay. So we begin with Ibash. So everybody when we go to a we you go to a and you say the hell and you touch your head to the floor. So [Music] you don't stretch out. That's just the Uh okay. So then we begin with so we say Oh, [Music] I forgot. Wait a minute. Where was I? Yeah, you're Can somebody click a forward arrow? Just the right arrow right here. Or actually on the key. It's on the bottom uh bottom line. No, no, no, not that. I'm talking about the actual key. The actual arrow on the bottom. Bottom line. There you go. Oh. All right. Okay. Then you start with your H again. You [Music] [Music] I'm do that [Music] Okay. So at this point is when you introduce yourself. So you would say it is me say uh your mama name the names. Yes. And then you begin to say your personal prayers. So you can pray under your breath while I'm praying. Uh we come to you today uh simply to give honor to give gifts to give uh our presence here. We pray that you will always look after us. We pray that you will not bury our money and sin. We pray that you will bring to us long life. That you will bring to us uh this house. You bring to us uh beautiful healthy children. You will bring to us uh wealth, money, prosperity. We also pray that we will have uh victory over our enemies. Please may you negate death, may you negate sickness, may negate loss, may negate curse, may negate fight, may negate all calamities. So we come to you today uh humbly with with balanced character to offer uh offer And a we pray that you will accept all these offerings in order to bring forth uh all the many blessings that we that your children here have prayed for. They uh they bring to you honey so that they may have good fulfilling life. Jin or or alcohol, liquor for wealth and prosperity so you may fight their enemies. Um and we bring to you uh God's gift so that we have the things that we need in our lives that our our prayers will be functional. That our our work and things that we work towards will not be done in vain. And may it come back in order to may it come back with wealth. May it come back with blessings. May it come back with peace. May it come back with good relationships. Hit that. Yes. Oh.

All right. So Oh, I forgot. All right. Go back. Go back. Go back back. Yes. Okay. So, now you've heard me pray for all the things heard bring out. I talked about what we have, what we're giving so that uh Ash will do everything that she you knows that that that the offering is made for. So, first let's begin with um So normally what I want you to do is bring something that you believe or something that you have like there's a receptacle for say [Music] Just as oy is sweet. Can I get your honey? Just as o is sweet. Right now we pray for sweetness over the lives uh over their lives are strong right now. We pray just as uh honey is never bitter, may their lives never be bitter. May they experience sweet life. May they experience a a fulfilling life. May they experience a comfortable life. Please may anything that may be bitter in their lives right now, please may you remove that bitterness so that they will have sweetness in their lives. So then when you have things like food items, things that you eat, take so um take a little bit of honey take a little bit of honey and uh I want to hear a second. We have liquor to um to ask for wealth, to ask for uh prosperity, to ask for the preservation of our blessings. Please may you is uh that uh we will have blessings of prosperity, blessings of wealth. We know that it's liquor we do not need. It is liquor that we enjoy. Please let us have the things that we enjoy in life. Let us have luxury. We have uh we pray that you will fight enemies that you remove enemies from their life that obstacles enemies move so that she may walk forward. [Music] Right now we pray that this corn beer will bring uh bring all blessings. blessings life, blessings, goodness, blessings, peace, blessings of prosperity, blessings of happiness. Thank you. Okay. Then it is coonut that brings uh blessings of prosperity. It's coonut that brings blessings of spouse of good spouse. calling us to bring uh blessings by please we have blessings then we have blessings for today tomorrow and the day after so then now uh like uh see how I said y instead of me because all right so now I just want to re review this so this is open That's what open looks like. Okay. Hit it again for me. This is what close looks like. Okay. All right. One more time. Okay. So then we start [Music] [Music] just means as I give you the liver of the cola the liver of the obs that's what it means like please give me living life, which really is a it's a poetic way of just saying like as I give you something good, please give me something good. Eat it real. Okay, so we got all four down. All four down means I said it already, but victory over our enemies. That's right. Yes. Thank you. So, you take this. Who's the ops? They all going down. Yeah, it's going down. [Laughter] I smash my enemies. Smash my enemies. What is it? There is basic English. I learned it in Europe, but I did not get to All right. Uh, hit that. Okay. So, now just as a review, these are the signs of the um Oh, wait. I'm sorry. Let me finish. So, we smash, right? You can either leave it outside the shrine with the rest of your offerings or you can take it to issue. Typically, we don't put it in the pot. There are some variations as far as what to do with it, but mainly that's kind of a basic thing. So, it's you'll you'll learn a few different things like, oh, well, you told this. It's like there are different things to do with it, but basically those are the two most common things. Take it to issue or just leave it outside the box. Okay. All right. So, that's that on that. That's over. Well, that's that's the entirety of the ritual. So, when I'm saying as far as like what I expect you all to do for the demonstration, it's that. Okay. That was everything. Okay. It's literally the whole thing. You says a lot. Mhm. You got to say it like from the beginning, right? Yeah. Like from to what we just did. We can open up. Oh, we can. Let's open up. Oh, okay. I thought that we had two like the first one. Well, because we got is over or we would have Okay. So, I know like normally we have the two. The first one, you know, you do um to ask if the blessings or if you see blessings for us. No. Oh, no, no, no. You ask if if the offering is accepted. No. The or the Oh, that's for Oh, sh. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah, it is. Oh, it is. But well, okay. So, um the one with the two colon nuts that is for this. This is the same process, but this is the shorter version. So, there are two ver two versions. All right, let me go this. Prayer template is just a simple like way to basically make and give offerings to Misha. There are basically only three required things to make offerings to the one is homage. Two is some type of Riki. Don't really matter. Like just some level of re um it don't have to be a lot. It could be the hell and like two or three praise names or one if that's all you got. So if you know the hell, you know at least one other name of that use that. You pray and you make your offerings and you just, you know, ask that please if they accept it. And that's pretty much it. That's all you need. Okay. Or in hell, pray, know which offerings to give and that's all you need as far as like the most basic of basic things. That is not what is required when you have shrines and stuff. When you have shrines, you might do that super super basic every once in a while. It's like you're in a rush. You just kind of need to, you know, you might do it that way. But when we get shrines, we learn of a different way to do it and that's with the two code. So that's the one that's the longer version of this. This is kind of like a in between an intermediate. It's really beginner, but that other one I I said that's like preschool. Like this is like kindergarten, you know, elementary school type. Um, and so this gives you a way to do the whole thing, uh, from starting with the homage all the way through. And then the next one is how to do it with two coales. It's not that much more complicated. It's just mainly after you do a Ricky and prayer, you do Ricky prayer coette. then offerings colon the first time in the longer one. What are you are you asking? You're really asking to see if your prayers are going to be answered. How do you throw the coins? Exactly. So, um, because like I was I think I was saying I don't remember when I said this like we use the word throw but it's always a drop. like you're never really actually throwing. We don't throw anything when we do any of the divination forms. That's always to drop it. So you basically shake, shake, shake, shake, drop. Basically, it's like a open. You do arend logo. Shake, shake, shake, shake. Turn your hand over and drop it. You do, you do like this and drop. You do the keen is pounding. So you just doing like this and picking it up. That's there is no drop there. Everything else is a drop. So the colon that's just strictly drop. Yes. The actual like action of using the colon is to drop. Is to open your hands and drop, not to throw it. If you throw it, when you throw it, you're kind of like I guess you're like influencing or it's like you're like it's it's it's putting too much force on it because you're more so kind of allowing the urea to tell you what's going on. So that's why you use a flat surface with no, you know, you don't want to use a really bumpy surface because then it might not be able to fully, you know, show what it is. So you want to use a flat surface and you want to drop it so as not to like push too much of your own stuff. Yeah.

Okay. So these are the symbols the five signs of reading and interpreting OB at least for this. This is considered the first throw or the first toss drop. So once we say da which means like is it good? Um, once you say that, then you drop it and you get one of these five symbols. So, do y'all remember what these mean? Yes. What are they? So, like everything above the red line is like a yes. Uhhuh. The alafia is come almost like hella or whatever. Okay. like it is going down. Um oan oban is like balance and um is um victory. Uh so it does it means it translates most of the time to peace. Okay. It's uh more so it is a yes but it's more so like all of the roads are open. Okay. Right. So none of these are like guarante like you are guaranteed to for this to go down like none of those are guaranteed. Alafia is the roads are open the path is clear you have you have the best chance of success. Obian is like it's also really good too. It's like everything is in balance. Success is is uh is assured or like you you will be very you will be successful in this is your obstacles or your enemies will be overcome and you will be able to work past whatever it is that may be the issue and you will succeed. So, all three of them are talking about you're going to succeed. It's going to be going to be good. Uh, you don't have anything to worry about. Both of the other ones, Ewa and Okan are both like there may be some cause for concern. Depending on what happens afterwards, it lets you know how much concern should there be. If it lands because you have to throw again, you have to throw a second time. So if you throw a second time and it lands in a positive ob saying okay just be cautious but things are still looking good. Um and so all right can you click that for me? All right. So, we get we say they're basically just asking like, you know, iswah going to be my medicine and my teacher and like will, you know, not bad, no bad things will happen to me. So, is it better to say that? Either one. So, yeah, they're kind of interchangeable. Um, and so once you throw it depending on what happens after that then you have your answer. Um, if you get e and ey then really the answer is no and there is some issues in character. Kind of the same thing with ewa and ok. It means there are blockages in the areas of character or okara there are blockages in the areas of character. If you get okar okara it means there are blockages from somewhere else or there are blockages like either either in your approach or there are blockages from other places whether it be from humans whether it be from spirits whether it be from spiritual humans whether it be from you know it's there's blockages okay same with okan opaku or Why there are blockages? Sometimes like ocean a bunch of times but then they'll say something positive at the end. So like is there like a I'm assuming like if they throw it again then I got like the first time. So like is there a way that I have a positive outcome? Yes, there is. Um, so sometimes too. So okay a few things mainly your first typically the way that I look at it in most divination practices your first two throws and this is a general state your first two throws are usually an answer. That's what it is. So then a lot of times what happens afterwards is that you have to go down a list or go through a conversation to figure out why. And so but it actually could end up being positive depending on the answer of what happens. It's not always negative. Sometimes it is berisha are trying to get your attention so that you can have a deeper conversation about what needs to happen. That's one. The other time is that OSHA is very busy. And so we can't always go into the depths of what we would go into if it were one- on-one. And we have to ask shorter questions or ask or we can't really go into like what's really happening all the way because sometimes there might be like character issues or things that need to be resolved and we don't have that kind of time because we got like yes or no questions. So we got to run through all these possibles, you know what I'm saying, in order to come up with like what is actually happening, why there are blockages. And so I say is kind of like a a mini version um or a truncated version where we don't ask certain questions just because of the nature of what's going on. Um, we don't really we can't always just give a person full attention. So, it could be that and they kind of went a different direction and was like, "Oh, everything's fine. Everything might be fine, but it might be still something that was coming up that the reason why they're showing, but they might not have gone into that question." So you just have to like maybe ask like is something wrong like something like because it might just be like no no I just had to um because other things too is that sometimes they're going through like uh reasons why and sometimes we just don't get to the thing that might end up positively until after asking like three or four questions. So it looks like, oh, something's really wrong. It's like, no, we're just kind of going down a list. And then it'd be like, oh, okay. Well, no, actually nothing's wrong. It's just need to do that. So it could be one of several different things. So yeah. Any other questions? What are the like list of questions that might go down? Not all of them, but like examples of the list that people ask after the first No, [Laughter] I'm joking. Uh, so uh we're going to cover that. Just not today. That'll take an hour. It literally takes an hour. Yeah, it takes me an hour to get to that. So, not today. That'll be in the uh in the OB class. this. So in Arisha, I'mma eventually call this 2011. In this level of class, we basically go to this extent with it. Um, and then after everybody demonstrates that they can do this, we go into that. And then after you get that, then we go into the two colon thing. how to do that. Uh, so we kind of like layer it with keep making it more and more complex and after you get that then you got to start learning the Odo. So we replace because right now inside of this we're not doing the odo right you notice that we didn't do is there are no odo in this per in this prayer template but the more and more advanced you get then odos start to be added into those. So then you have to start learning the odo that are that replace what we're doing which are basically like really teeny tiny versions or really snippets of the odo but then you have to learn the od. Okay. Okay. So no questions. Uh, do we go over what you say for and you pick it up and shake shake shake and then your answer is your answer. So you might end where it might be no. The answer is no. It's not accepted. You got to go back and try again. Leave your offerings there. Do not take them away and like you know [Laughter] what accept. You know what I'm saying? Like we ain't going to accept my my good liquor. [ __ ] cost me $7,000. So you leave your offerings there and you just come back and try. At this stage, there will come a stage we'll like start to go down like find out why and then you know you'll at least get to the point to where everything is accepted. But there still might be something to work on afterwards. Okay. All hearts and minds. Anybody got no no more questions? Okay. Well, cool. Uh, thanks for coming. Appreciate you. Um, I hope that So, we're going to do uh I think our next one we did is this is a next one is I think one. And so we're going to do that for a couple weeks and then we can do the Obata ritual. Oh yeah, cuz it's Yeah. And then so we're almost done cuz this the last month is July of classes. So July is the last month of classes. It's going to be all August. Every week on August. That's right. So, the way this going to work is that we will continue to have class in August. It's just that you sign up for a day and then when you come that day, I'm going give you some ky shells. You gonna take them ky shells and drop them. You gonna look and be like, "You got to do, you got to do shango. You got to do based upon what the cow shall say. Will you offer us like you know how we normally do like review before exams or whatever like no no I saw your question when you asked me that and I was thinking about I was like how I'm going to answer this I was like because like I was like h cuz you know like in my mind most of the time it's like on my heart to help and I be like I want to make things, you know, as easy as possible. But then I was like, I'm not going to do no review. Like, I'm not, let me not even try to lie and be like, yeah, I can find some time. No, I ain't going to find no time for Okay. Uh, so my intention because I did not do this many rituals last year. Like last year, I only did each shoot. That was it. And then we ran down things and basically, you know, eventually have to demonstrate. This year I was like I'm going to do it a few times. I'm going to do ishuh I'mma do a I'mma do. So you see three times what it looks like with three different orisha. Three very different approaches. Is one approach. Ashon is another approach. Obatala is a different approach. It's more similar to ashon than it is. But still you get three what it looks like three different ways. You know this is no libation. This is what that looks like. You can't use can't use water at all. Not with the colon nuts. Not with the omit to nothing. And so with the tala we can we this is how you do it with the water. Shoe I told you how you know we do it standing up. We didn't do it outside. That's only other thing about doing outside is that you got to clear the ground. Like you got to take your foot and clear the ground to where it's like flat and it's the dirt. Also, we got we got to go back there and play exterminator. I sprayed that joint hard. I'll be out there. Spray I spray everything down. Then we spray ourselves down. We'll be covered in mosquito spray so that we not back there cuz I tell you I back there with no mosquito. So you get a bite of your eyes, right? Exactly. Let they be tearing you up man. Big place in a get bit. Oh man. like you are you are entered their land back there and it is that is mosquito country. It is horrible country. Oh my god. So so yeah uh that's the only thing. So most likely we do it. We might go outside and do a shoot or I may bring mine. Uh, but we'll probably go out there and do it just so y'all get that experience. Uh, cuz we do I mean in Nigeria we be out we Yeah, I heard it's like a little heap. Like a trash heap. Yeah, but issue. They said like it's a bunch of stuff like around it. It is a bunch of stuff. Yeah. Oh, that's right. That's right. It's more than one issue, right? So, um, so yeah, that's it for today. Thank y'all. I was ringing. Yeah, I we you know maybe the one that don't work. It's one Oh yeah. Which one did you ring? Which one? The one to the left. Yeah, it's the one to the left. Not the one to the right. I was I was looking at one. I was like I was like the one on the left. I said, "Well, let me sit in the car. The store will be open. I'm already. No, it's one on the on the on the left. My bad." Uh, so yeah. Okay. Well, see you guys. [Applause] I forgot the I got some [Music] Huh? No, it wasn't. I just saw that yesterday that it wasn't. So good to see you.
