Across almost the entire Israeli political spectrum, there is serious concern that while the agreement may reduce immediate tensions, it leaves the most central issues unresolved. What are the political forces that put this deal together?
Gas prices in America. People are sick and tired of paying too much. People are sick and tired of war. He's got a signing ceremony on Friday. He'll try to pretend that he made world peace. Let him have it.
But we need to look at the from our perspective in Israel, the serious issues. And the June 25 war set back the nuclear threat significantly. This war did not deal with that very much. Then this war dealt with the missile threat and it set that back significantly. Those were two threats that have been taken care of by America in one way or another and we're eternally grateful.
Now, anybody who set their expectations high that there would be immediate regime change, that was never realistic and if anything it could only start after the war would end, which it did at 1:00 in the morning our time last night. And then the money flows in and the people of Iran say, "Wait a second, how come we're not getting any of this money? Why is it only going to the regime who then going to give it to Hezbollah and Hamas and whoever and not to their own people?" That's when the rebellion can happen again and that's the time that it can succeed. People don't realize that yet. They're looking from what's going on with them day in and day out and not with any historical perspective.
