At the beginning of the film, we see a girl named Ceda opening a grave with her brother. She lies inside it, curious to know whether people are punished for their wrongdoings after death. Her brother places the last plank over the grave and sits nearby. As soon as the grave is closed, Ceda turns on her camera. Meanwhile, outside, a snake slithers its way into the grave, but her brother doesn't notice and doesn't warn Ceda about it.
Ceda's unusual experiment had a reason. It was connected to her past. She had witnessed the tragic loss of her parents in a bomb blast. Since then, she had struggled with the thought that good people don't always get a good ending. In contrast, bad people seemed to thrive, and she questioned whether there was really any justice after death, as she had been taught in religious studies.
After her parents' death, Ceda and her brother were sent to an orphanage. There, a teacher would tell them that bad people always face consequences, even after death. But Ceda didn't believe this. Determined to prove her teacher wrong, she and her brother entered a dangerous cave. This cave was believed to be haunted; anyone who entered never returned. Inside, as they walked further, they found nothing but darkness. Then something strange happened. The deeper they went, the more disconnected they became. They could no longer see or even hear each other.
As Ceda searched for her brother, she suddenly saw a frightened child in the tunnel. But this was not an ordinary child; it was a wandering soul. When the child spoke his name in an eerie manner, Ceda was terrified. His name was Ismail. Scared, she ran out of the tunnel and found her brother waiting for her outside with the villagers. They were both sent back to the orphanage.
But one question haunted Ceda: why was Ismail's soul still wandering? Determined to find the truth, she began secretly listening to the conversations of the teachers and staff. One day, she overheard a shocking truth. The orphanage was owned by a wealthy man, but it was not built for a noble cause. Instead of providing shelter to children, the orphanage served as a place where influential people would exploit them. If a child caught their attention, they would take them away. Ismail was one of those unfortunate children. He had suffered greatly, and that was why his soul remained trapped in the tunnel.
But the most horrifying revelation was that they had now chosen her brother, Adil. Hearing this, Ceda rushed to save her brother, but before she could reach him, several hands grabbed him. Realizing that Ceda could become a threat, the staff captured her too and locked her in a storage room, sealing the doors and windows. Thinking quickly, Ceda used her scarf to break open a window and managed to escape.
As soon as she got out, a kind-hearted caretaker approached her. She secretly gave Ceda some money and supplies to help her escape with her brother. She also told her where Adil was being taken. Ceda quickly ran through the forest and reached the road before the captors. When their vehicle passed, she threw a stone to distract the driver. In the chaos, she managed to free her brother, and together they escaped the scene.
Then cuts to 10 years later. Ceda is now an adult, working at an elderly care home. However, despite the passage of time, she still carries the pain of losing her parents and the questions that had always troubled her. Do bad people ever truly face consequences? While they seem to live well in this world, do they ever receive punishment after death? And do good people ever receive justice or peace?
Ceda was determined to prove her belief, no matter how far she had to go. For her experiment, she chose the owner of the orphanage where she had grown up, a man who had mistreated children in the past. Now, in his old age, he was living in a senior care home. First, Ceda gathered evidence of his wrongdoings. Then, she tricked him into revealing his past crimes under the influence of medication. Eventually, burdened by his guilt, the old man took his own life. Despite his wealth, none of his children stood by him. After his passing, the staff at the senior home arranged his funeral, performed the necessary rituals, and buried him.
Ceda was eager to see what would happen to him after death. This led her to conduct her experiment. She lay inside the very grave where he had been buried. This was the same scene shown at the beginning of the movie. She turned on her camera while her brother Adil placed the final plank over the grave before sealing it completely. He told her to call out if she needed help and sat nearby. A snake started slithering toward the grave. Adil noticed it just in time and quickly pulled Ceda out. However, during the time she spent inside, nothing unusual happened. This proved her theory: there was no divine punishment after death for bad people.
Determined to share her findings, Ceda appeared on a morning talk show, bringing her recording as proof. However, when the video played, it showed nothing. Adil had secretly deleted everything. Ceda was shocked and demanded to know why he did it. Adil explained that exposing such things could have negative consequences. People might lose faith in doing good, and society could become even more unjust. He questioned Ceda's own actions, reminding her that she had also been driven by personal motives rather than a greater good.
Hearing this, Ceda was heartbroken. She returned home, picked up a picture of her parents, and broke down in tears. As she sobbed, she thought she heard the voice of the old orphanage owner, Loveby. Following the voice, she reached a room, but no one was there. She reminded herself that Loveby was no longer alive. Just as she was about to shut the door, she heard the voice again. Turning around, she saw a shadow.
Stepping outside, she found an elderly woman from the senior home crying. The woman revealed that her husband, who also lived there, had betrayed her. When Ceda accompanied her to check, they found the man spending time with a nurse. Heartbroken, the old woman cried out, attracting the attention of other residents. The emotional shock was too much for her. She was so devastated that she wanted to harm her husband, but Ceda stopped her.
Later that night, while doing laundry, the elderly woman accidentally dropped her ring into the washing machine. As she reached in to retrieve it, she mistakenly pressed the power button. Tragically, she was trapped inside and lost her life. Her husband was devastated by her sudden passing; he hadn't even gotten the chance to apologize. Overcome with grief, he spiraled into despair.
Ceda, deeply affected by this, wanted to help him find closure. She sought help from an elderly resident who knew about spiritual practices. Together with a few others, they gathered at a table, lit candles, and attempted to connect with the departed soul. They needed one more participant, so Ceda hesitantly joined. Although scared, she knew the ritual wouldn't work without her presence.
As the ritual progressed, the soul seemed to manifest through the spiritual leader, speaking in the old woman's voice. She refused to forgive her husband unless he punished the person he had betrayed her with. At this point, Ceda felt uneasy. She tried to stop the ritual, but suddenly, all the elderly participants began chanting the same demand to seek revenge. Realizing something was wrong, she immediately ended the ritual, blew out the candles, and opened the curtains.
Worried for the nurse's safety, Ceda rushed to warn her. Just as she arrived, the grieving husband was about to confront the nurse. Ceda quickly locked her inside a room for protection. However, another resident, influenced by the ritual, was already waiting inside and attacked the nurse. Ceda was horrified and asked the attacker why he had done it. He replied that he didn't want to carry regret for a lifetime. The spirit had demanded justice, and he had fulfilled it.
Hearing this, Ceda grew suspicious. Had these people seen her morning show? But in that show, she had failed to prove anything. Curious, she checked online and was shocked by what she found. After her show aired, many people had repeated her experiment. This time, strange and unexplainable things were captured on camera. Some graves emitted chilling cries, while others showed signs of peace. It seemed like there really was justice after death.
Ceda was stunned. If this was true, why had nothing happened to Loveby's grave? Determined to find out, she made a shocking decision: she would dig up his grave and go inside once again. But what did Ceda find in Loveby's grave? To her shock, there were no bones at all. Suddenly, the soil and wooden planks of the grave started collapsing over her. To escape, she quickly dug further down and entered a hollow space beneath the grave. However, as soon as she moved forward, the soil behind her sealed off the way back.
As she continued ahead, she discovered a tunnel, the same tunnel where she had once met Ismail. But this tunnel wasn't supposed to exist in the city. Ceda thought she might be hallucinating due to a lack of oxygen, but the next moment, she heard Ismail's familiar voice. That's when she realized this was real. She moved deeper into the tunnel and suddenly found herself facing a vision of her childhood. Beyond a glass window, she saw her parents standing there, waving at her. Overcome with emotion, Ceda broke down in tears, but in the blink of an eye, the vision disappeared, and the tunnel returned to its original dark and eerie state.
Continuing forward, she suddenly heard Loveby's cries of regret and pain. As she walked further, she came across the children from her orphanage, and in front of them stood Ismail. Ceda doubted whether what she was seeing was real. She remembered that spirits exist, but they only appear if one truly believes in them. Determined to control her mind, she closed her eyes and convinced herself that none of this was real. When she opened them again, the orphanage children were still standing before her. Then Ismail stepped forward and confronted her. "Why did you leave me that day?" he asked. "Didn't you realize I was scared?"
When she regained consciousness, she found herself lying next to Loveby. Shocked, she turned her head and saw him. Beside her, was everything she had just witnessed just a nightmare? Panicking, she screamed for Adil, but no one was there to help her. Suddenly, a snake slithered into the grave and crawled onto her. It bit Ceda before entering Loveby's mouth. The moment the snake disappeared inside him, Loveby suddenly sat up. In an instant, someone struck his head with a hammer. Blood splattered onto Ceda's face, filling her with terror. But this was just the beginning. Loveby's head miraculously healed, only to be subjected to the same torment again. His mouth contorted unnaturally, and strange wounds began appearing all over his body. A mysterious force seemed to be punishing him. Terrified, Ceda realized the truth: evil people do face consequences after death.
Just as things became unbearable, Adil suddenly dug open the grave from above and pulled Ceda out. Shaken and horrified by everything she had witnessed, Ceda now understood: justice always prevails in the end. And with that, the story comes to an end.
