Hello my friends, welcome back to my channel. All right, so today's video is going to be my very, very last video that I'm going to post within this year, 2024. This year, so many things have happened, and I just want to take a moment to look back at my 2024 with you guys and share my insights, thoughts, feedbacks, and everything, and get ready for 2025 next year.

I think most of you guys already know that I was doing a working holiday in Sydney, Australia last year, and I came back to Japan and spent this whole year in Japan. Oh, I went to Canada for for a month, but except that, I was spending my whole year 2024 in Japan. Right? Some people actually asked me like, why don't you go abroad again and like go to UNI, get started new business in somewhere in other countries. I get asked so many times like, why are you staying in Japan? Um, I'm doing everything for a reason.

While I was in Sydney last year, 2023, um, a lot of things were actually very different from what I was expecting. So, 2022, before I went to Australia, that was my second year as a business owner. When I was 21, I started my own business with no skill, no knowledge, no money, nothing. I just started with nothing. All I had at that time was just like passion and confidence. I have actually no idea why I was so confident at that time, but I knew that I can do this. I knew that I can overcome every single obstacle that I'm going to face. Well, eventually I did, so that's why I'm still here.

But, um, a lot of things were unexpected. The first year I started my own business, I think I was so miserable. I didn't have much money. I had no choice but to do the things that I didn't want to do. I literally had no choice, but I had to do it. When I started my business, I was like, I was actually dreaming to become one of the greatest people that I admire. At that time, I had already met so many CEOs and like managers and like people who are initiating their employees, their teammate, team members, and I got really inspired by those people. They're not working for anyone else. They, they, they're creating their work, and they're distributing the task to the workers around them, and then they're, they have full control of decision making, and they have a great responsibility in every single action they take. I felt something significantly different from people that I know, and I sincerely respected them. And at that time, I remember, I still remember, I got stimulated and I was like, I got inspired and I, I was impressed. So, yeah, I, I, I started, um, my own business, and the first year was really, really tough because I had to learn a lot of things. School doesn't teach you a very important thing. I had to learn about money. I had to learn about society. I had to learn about what people think, like psychologies and stuff. I had to learn about how this world will change in the future, kind of like I have to expect, I have to predict what's going to happen in the future, otherwise we cannot just follow what's going on right now. By the time I catch up with that idea or whatever like I'm chasing, it's already too late. In order to run a business, we have to always, we have to be able to guess. We have to have a good guess, always guessing the future, starting early, believing in ourselves, our team, our company, and realizing dreams.

So, yeah, basically I needed a lot of time to study, to experiment, to fail. But at the same time, the first year I didn't have enough money. I didn't, I mean, I had some money because I've been saving money for future abroad experience. I didn't want to give up because of the COVID. When the COVID hit, um, everyone else, um, took a different path. In my university, my department was something related to English learning. So, there are so many people who wanted to study abroad. We're all studying English together, and we're chasing kind of like a similar dreams. We all want to study abroad, we all want to improve about English, and we hope one day we got to get a job using English, traveling abroad, you know, all that kind of like, we, we, we all had the similar dreams. But once the COVID hit, we all went locked down. Most of my friends changed their plan. I took a gap year because I didn't want to graduate. I've still got something to do in my university life, studying abroad, improving myself, and getting ready to be a part of society, but I wasn't ready yet. So, yeah, I took a gap year.

But first year of the starting business was like a training period. I read tons of books and I actually took some courses to learn about social media, business, and finance, and all that stuff that are necessary. I was also learning. I was also kind of like a student, but for me, that first year was like a training period. It's like, I know nothing, let me just do it, let me fail, let me learn. You know, dreaming ideal myself and comparing what I am right now, depressed, being jealous of other people who are already successful again, comparing myself to those people, depressed again. You know, negative circle. I was in the negative spiral, comparing, depressed, comparing, depressed, implementing new plans, fail, fail, fail, fail. Because I've started completely by myself all along. Most of people around me have already got hired, wearing suits, going to the office, being part of a big project, and like managing huge amount of money. Hearing all those impressive ventures out there, I got actually jealous. If I become one of the members of some company that are already exist, much easier, and I can learn a lot of things from my manager, from co-workers, because the environment is all set up and so already there. You don't have to look for a job. Your manager will assign you, oh, now next, can you do this? Do you want to try this? You know, like educators, tasks, goals, assignments, challenges, everything is already organized for you, arranged for you, and you're just going to go with the flow. Okay, I'm going to try this. Okay, I'm going to learn this. Okay, I failed. What else can I do? You have so many people people around that you can rely on. You can ask questions. So, so much support around you. And I got so jealous because I have nothing. I have to find things that I have to learn, what's lacking me, what I need, what else can I do? Once I find that, I have to find a place to learn. I have to find a people like coaches, teachers, tutors, whatever, someone who can teach me the things that I need, and I have to prepare the money for it. Everything I had to do it by myself with no support. That was my first year. Hard, very hard. And I had no friend that I can talk to because, I mean, like technically I had, but they never understand what I've been going through, how serious the problem is. I mean, I didn't even want to talk about it because I don't want to make them worried about me. And by talking, I don't want to rush myself. I don't want to make myself worried either. So I was like, being very close-minded, like shutting out everything, and I was like, thinking on my own all the time. That was my first year.

And then the second year, I got smarter. I knew what I have to do, at least. You know, the first year I didn't even know what to do. I didn't even know what kind of problem that I had, and I had to go and find it. I had to go random places just express myself and get feedbacks and like just just like trying to find out what I have and what I don't have. That was my first year. And then the second year, I knew, oh, this is my strength, and this is my weak point. Now I have to do something with this weak point, otherwise I'm never going to improve. You know, and at the same time, I have to think about some strategies to use my strength. How can I amplify my strength? How can I best use my strong point? Think about these two dimensions. And, yeah, I decided to ask people. I, I try to find an environment where I can keep focusing on one thing because I'm a very, very lazy person. I easily give up. I was that kind of person. Now I changed a lot, but at the first and second year, I was very lazy. I, I needed to pay for the experience. I needed to pay for the people to push me into the environment, push me more and more and more to the to the max, maximum level of what I can do. And, yeah, so the second year, uh, with the little money that I earned from the first year, I bet everything to the school, to the people, and I begged them. I observed successful people, what they're doing, how they think, what they're seeing, what they're interested in. I stopped reading books. I tried my best to reach those people that I admire, that I was respecting, try to get feedback from those people, and I gradually, I started to understand what exactly I have to do that year.

And one of them, improving my English skill. My English level at that time wasn't enough to be handling the English, English teaching business. So that was a huge, huge decision because I already had customers, because I already had students who are learning from me. But in order to improve my English, I knew that I had to go abroad and study English, focus on myself, not a business, but I needed to fully bet to myself, just myself. I said to my students, I'm going to Australia next year. So my lessons were only available this year. And then I went to Australia. And the first and second month were absolutely filling. Everything was going perfectly. My English skill was skyting. I could actually feel, wow, my, my English is changing. I could feel it. So, yeah, everything I did in the first and second month was very, very achieving. I was actually satisfying with what I have done. The two or three months, but after that, the fourth or fifth month, I was started to question myself, what am I doing here? The, the abroad experience already becoming a bit rusty. I mean, in the first months, everything was new and fresh and like I was so excited and I was very, very energetic. But the fourth or fifth month, I was getting used to it. I was getting used to the environment. I was getting used to using English, and I haven't really seen any progress in everything, in my English, in my life, and in my learning in general. I was actually feeling lost. Or now, I don't know what I want to do. Everything was expensive in Sydney, and so many Japanese people were around. Once I graduated the language school, I had to work, but I didn't want to work because my time is very, very precious. I just wanted to make the most of it. Working somewhere and earning money is something that I can do in Japan. Even though I can use English all the time, if I work in Sydney, is that the only difference? No, I can do more, that's what I thought. I can do more. Being able to speak English is just like a normal thing in Australia. For us as a Japanese people, it's a big difference. It's such a blessing environment. It's exactly what we need. I know, but I wanted more. Being able to speak English all the time, plus being able to do something else. I need it. Plus, I would say I'm so arrogant, but I need it more, honestly. I couldn't be satisfied with the with the environment. For me, being able to speak English all the time wasn't enough, wasn't enough. That's like a standard. That's why not, of course. No, plus being able to learn something new, something that I need when I'm back in Japan, or being able to experience something that I can never do in Japan. P or like, I just wanted to have one plus more, and I needed to feel I am making the most of this time. So I wasn't even looking for a job. I was learning how to edit a video, how to film a video for this YouTube channel. YouTube channel, yes, that's that's what I've been working on while I was in Australia. The basic skill of editing and filming and like whole process of making video and posting onto YouTube channel. That's very, very challenging for me. It's unbelievably tough. You know, like the laptop that I was using while I was in Sydney was like, wasn't this one, very, very small memories, and like I was always stressing out like, why is it taking so long? You know, I've never gone to any schools like editing schools. I never got taught any skills because I had no friends around who can edit the video. Um, I was like, actually self-taught, you know, I was learning by myself, and it also took time, but I had to upload a video. I make it a rule to upload a video regularly. If I cannot do it, it's, it's, it's more of like a promise with me and you guys, you know, if I'm not consistent, it's going to, it's, it's, it's a rude attitude toward you guys. I didn't want to do it. But still, like my laptop has a lot of technical issues. That was very tough, but I went through. I overcame everything.

And now I know what I've got to do. After spending almost a year, instantly I was like, oh, I never want to go back to Japan. I want to stay in Australia. This is such a lovely country. I love everyone around me. I never ever want to leave this country. I was actually feeling like that. But then again, I thought about my original, original plan. I started my own business. I stopped all the services because I wanted to expand it more. I knew I could do more. And what do I need to perform better? And my answer was like, being more confident in myself. And that is the reason why I came to Australia, studying English for this year. So, yeah, what's next? Going back to Japan, starting my business again with a better understanding of English learners, English studies, abroad experiences, marketing, business, social media, everything. Utilizing all the progress that I have gained. I had to start it again. I knew it. So, yeah, I left everything behind. Say goodbye to all my friends, and I was actually dating with a guy in Australia. So I said goodbye to him as well. And then I came back to Japan for my business career.

And this year, 2024, I had come across a lot of challenges, and it was actually overwhelming, unbelievable. But after all the thing that I have overcome, nothing has significantly changed, but like my inner self, my inner child, something inside of me has changed a lot. I feel it. Actually, my way of thinking, how I see myself, and how I see people around, and how I react to the things happening around me, everything have changed a lot. I became a lot more logical, I guess. I don't know. But, uh, like the, the way I talk, or the way I handle problems, like the attitude towards some unexpected events, it's just more, I feel like it became more mature than before. And now I try to see things from like different angles. At the same time, it's, it's, it's really hard. Even in Japanese, I don't think I can put it into the right word. It's really hard, but I'm feeling something.

So, 2025, I need to set some goals. That's what I have been thinking lately. But right now, I, I do, I do have some goals. Are pretty much the same as last year. One thing that is completely different from last year is I have a feeling I want to nurture people. I want to be a person who can actually help surrounding people. A lot of people that I have met this year, they all have some problems, whether it's a, something related to their work, something related to their financial situation, um, their, their, their family problems, and like everyone has problems, and they're all facing them. And I thought, I really want to help them. Last year, people who I wanted to help were only those who are struggling with English study, and that's it. Because I know that's all I can do, helping English learners get better at English. That was my desire last year. But now I'm a bit different. Of course, I want to help those people who's learning English. Furthermore, I would also like to help people who want to have a better career, who want to change something in their life, who want to challenge something that motivates them. The people who have complained with the current situation, current life situation, and I think I can give them an opportunity to change themselves like I did.

I took a full responsibility of my life. Whatever I do, if it fails, I'm going to still take care of it. I'm going to still make it worse. I never ever leave the failure as failure. If I fail, I'm going to make the failure lessons, textbooks, teachers, whatever it calls. So these kind of mindset helped me a lot. Whenever I have a trouble, feel depressed, stressed out, I feel, oh, I cannot do more, I just want to give up. I do have that feeling. But at the same time, I know how to get myself back into the right track. So through these social media, what I can do is not only teaching English or giving you English learning tips, but at the same time, I think I can give you a little hint to get through any hardships, any troubles, issues, challenges that you might going to go through. Because I myself had so many troubles so far through these past two or three years. But with this mindset, with this way of thinking, here I am. I'm still here, you know.

And this year, I, I, I gave myself a Christmas present. I'm going to show you. Actually, I'm going to show you. It's a car. It's a car. I bought myself a car as a Christmas gift. This is very special for me. When I was in Canada, one of my friends took me to one of the post event, the special car revealing event. I saw the, the expensive car in front of me. That was a, that was from Porsche. And then was like, I was speechless. I never seen this kind of world. I don't know. I wasn't really interested in getting a car, getting an expensive car, or like renting a gorgeous house. Was I, I never had that desire. But I don't know, when I went to the event, I knew that I'm going to get this car. I knew it. I knew that I can do this. And that was what happened in September this year. And it's now December. It's been, uh, 4 months. I got a new car for myself. Being only 25 and getting an expensive car, I know that some people would think I am such extravagant. But for me, it's not like that. Very, very spiritual. That's one of the ways for me to respect what I am, to be proud of myself, and kind of like to, to push myself even harder next year.

And this YouTube channel is nearly hitting 100K subscribers. And I'm kind of like being nervous. Getting 100K subscribers, finally, it's nearly there. I can see, I can see the goal. I really appreciate all the support that you have been giving me. All the comments, likes, and like thumbs ups, and DMs for Instagrams and TikTok. And some people even send me emails, long emails. That means a world to me. Thank you so, so, so much. Hopefully, I will see you in my channel next year as well. Thank you so much for visiting this channel today. I will see you next year. Bye-bye.
