Welcome back everybody. Today I'm testing out the number one best-selling portable dryer on Amazon. I've also got a couple of bonus items at the end, but let's jump into the dryer and see if it's worthy of the number one bestselling tag on Amazon.
Let's take a look at this portable dryer. It is the number one bestselling portable dryer on Amazon with a 4.3 star rating among over 900 reviews. I paid $52.99 for this. It is by the brand Mojo. Mojo user manual. They want me to share my experience. Haven't had any yet. This is all there is to it. Just two pieces. Pretty easy, I think.
Well, they claim you will revolutionize your laundry routine with this portable dryer that can dry up to nine pieces of clothing at once, up to 22 lbs. They say it dries in as fast as 50 minutes. They say it's great for small apartments, RVs, camping, or dorms. Also for travel. There's also a UV light here, which they say can help clean your clothes. A time function with 1, 2, or 4 hours. They say it has quiet operation. They also say it saves money with less electricity demands.
Now, people online who liked it said it was great for small apartments or for travel. They also said it's ideal for smaller loads, easy to set up, and easy to use. Now, those who didn't like it say it's not long enough and the clothes will bunch up in the bottom. They also said it is too slow. So, I'll read these over and we'll get started.
All right, here it is. Now, there's a little uh hook here in the top that pulls out. And I I kind of fashioned a little rack here from a tripod cuz I don't have a any other racks that are easily accessible. You're supposed to put it more than an inch and a half away from the wall. I saw some people on Amazon who didn't do that, but that's on them, not me.
Now, one thing I want to point out is this timer is I thought it was originally 1, two, or four hours, but you can actually keep clicking and you'll get multiples of these. So, you can go higher than that. This is basically low and high. And then the UV light is right here. Inside the unit itself, we have this closed rack that comes down. It does have nine slots on it, but I'm not sure if that's going to be really practical. They also say to balance it out, so it's even, not all on one side or the other, which does make sense.
For my first test, I want to do something that's kind of a real world test here. I've got two t-shirts, gym shorts, and a pair of socks. Fresh out of the wash and still damp. Wet shirt number one, my Randy Mar shirt. Now, they go this way. So, I'm going to hang this one off to the one side. Kind of tuck it in there. So, this is what we got for the first shirt. There's a little bit of space there at the bottom. So, so far so good. What do you think, Randy? Second shirt's kind of an older t-shirt that says rock and roll on it. Hang that up in here. I'm putting it on the other side, kind of in the front. Tucking that in the bottom. For my next two, I've got a pair of gym shorts and I've got a pair of socks. There's what we got inside. They're all hanging up in there, spaced out as best as I could.
There's the power button. I'm going to set it for 1 hour. I'm going to put the UV on. But I'm not sure if it even does anything, but I'm going to put on anyways. And I do hear something. And it has kind of filled up like a balloon here. So, I'll come back in an hour and I'll check on this and see how it looks. This is maybe this is an easy test for it. I don't know. But I've got it on power level one. I've got it for set for 1 hour and the UV light. We shall see.
Now, there's the UV lights. That doesn't look very significant. I can't imagine that tiny light doing much, but I guess we'll leave it on anyways. Thermal is showing a decent amount of heat up top. It shows the temperature around 8 in the mid 80s. As we scroll down, it's a little bit less. And then we have more heat toward the bottom. I'm not sure if that's an even distribution on the inside, but it doesn't look like that from the outside. But we got a long way to go. So, we'll come back in an hour and see how it goes. Will it take an hour or more? Let's find out when the cycle is done.
I'm at about 20 minutes now. I want to point out that I don't see like a lot of air coming out of there. It doesn't seem like it's losing a lot of heat. After 20 minutes, it seems like the heat distribution has evened out a little bit. It's much more even now. So, it it seems like it's it's kind of become optimized at this point, I think.
All right, we're at the 30 minute mark. I just reached in there. I felt some stuff that seemed dry. So, let me see what we got here. Pull this first shirt out of here. First shirt. Oh, that feels completely dry. First shirt dry in 30 minutes. Not bad. I guess I'm a little bit impressed by that. It was even shorter than I expected. Let me see. The socks don't feel 100. They're close. Not Not completely there yet. Gym shorts at the bottom feel kind of wet. The shirt in the back feels damp. It's almost like it dried from the front to the back. So, I'm gonna I'm gonna rotate these. Ow. Ah, that's hot. My Randy Marsh shirt is still a little bit damp. So, I'm putting that in the front this time. All right. We still got 30 minutes to go. It's just interesting that it seemed like it dried from front to back. Not really top to bottom like the previous dryer I did was. So, I don't know. We'll let it go another half hour and see how it turn out.
All right. So, the cycle ended, there was no alarm or anything. It just shut off. So, it'd be nice if there's an alarm. There's not. But let's see what we got. All right, the Randy Marsh shirt that I rotated. Let's see what we get in here. Oh, it's dry. It's completely dry. It didn't seem like it got the wrinkles out too well, but it did dry it complet. It's completely dry. That's good. Next up, the gym shorts. These feel completely dry as well. So, so far we're doing pretty well. Last one, the pair of socks. They are also dry, although a little bit stiff. They feel like they are almost dried outside. They're just a little bit on the stiff side, but they are dry. So, my summery tie went pretty well. Let's move on to some heavier clothing and see how that does.
All right, round number one went pretty well. Let's go round number two. A little bit heavier outfit here. I have a long sleeve shirt, a pair of jeans. They say to fold pants in half for better results. We shall see. I have my quick flip hoodie and another pair of socks. All right, put the shirt in the back. I'll put the pants right in the center for balance. I'll put the hoodie up front. I'll throw these socks kind of in the middle. Again, nothing's really touching the bottom, so that's good. I'm going to go 2 hours and I'm going to go power level high and we'll turn this on even though I'm not sure it really does anything. High level 2 hours UV. We shall see. I'm not sure how long it's going to take. But we are off and running. 2 hours doesn't seem unreasonable, but this does go up to 7 hours total on timing. So maybe maybe it isn't. I don't know.
It's been running for 1 hour on high this time. Let's take a peek and see how they're holding up. The quick flip that feels pretty dry. The very bottom has a slight dampness, but overall that feels completely dry. Let's see for the pants. Wow, the pants feel kind of dry, too. I feel like these are further along than I expected. I thought it was going to take 2 hours. Let's see. Quick flip. There's a little bit of dampness very at the very bottom, but the rest of it is completely dry. Maybe a little bit of dampness back here, but overall, I would say this is this is wearable. This is very dry. Socks are completely dry. Let's see the pants here. By the way, the hanger's hot. Pants feel mostly dry. I feel a couple of damp spots on here. There's a damp spot right there. This is a little bit damp right up here. There's a bit of a damp area right there. I'm going to turn these the other way. Shirt completely dry. We're twins. I would say the jeans are more than 50% dry. So, in 1 hour, I think I did a pretty good job. The hoodie is dry, the shirt is dry, the socks are dry, and the pants are 50% dry. That's pretty good. That's better than the other dryer I tried out in the past. So, so far so good. But we'll come back another hour and see how it turned out.
It just shut off after two hours. Let's check it out. I don't feel any any real wet patches. Maybe a tiny bit damp by the by the pocket, but pretty much acceptable. I will say like the socks has a little bit stiffness to it that you don't get in the dryer, but on the other hand, it is dry. So, I think my first couple round of tests are putting pretty well. I'm going to come back tomorrow and put it through the ringer with a little bit more difficult challenges. So, let's see what I can come up with for my next round of test. That'll be tomorrow.
All right, we're back for another round of test. Now, the first couple rounds we did pretty well, but that was pretty easy. Let's do a little bit of a stress test now and see what we got. I got nine shirts right here. Let me throw them on hangers and toss them in there. First up, two heavier long sleeve shirts, two light t-shirts, my egg shirt and my freaking reviews long sleeve shirt. a button-up shirt and a polo shirt and one last black t-shirt covered in dog hair. That's what we got there. It's loaded up. Got all nine of them in there. It is loaded up. And the bottom doesn't look like there's anything really touching. So, we're good that as far as that goes, too.
All right. I'm going to go power level two. I put on for an hour. So, what I'm going to do now is I'll check this after 30 minutes and I'll rotate whatever needs to be rotated. See how they're doing. Just give it a little checkup and see where we're at with nine shirts in 30 minutes. So, I'll be back then.
And we are at 30 minutes. Let's check it out. Brief inspection here. First one is it's dry from halfway down. The button-up shirt feels kind of wet on the bottom as well. So, what I'm feeling is most of these seem like they're kind of wet on the bottom half. It's only been 30 minutes. We got nine shirts in there. I'll come back another 30 minutes. We'll see how it turns out.
Right as we're about to turn off at the 1 hour mark, you can see it's pretty hot. 129°. But one thing else I noticed is that there's not a lot of heat at the bottom. It seems like all those clothes are blocking the heat at the top. So the heat kind of accumulates at the top there. And I think the clothes are kind of preventing from going on the bottom. Will that make a difference? We shall see.
All right. At the 1 hour mark, I just heard it turn off, but the fan is still blowing. Now the fan is turned off. So the fan ran about an extra 15 seconds. Now according to the thermal imager, it seems like the bottoms may not be as dry as the tops. But let's let's grab these out of here one at a time. t-shirt. Uh, it's a little damp on the bottom, a little damp on the sleeves, but otherwise it feels pretty pretty dry. And this is covered in dog hair. All right, the button-up shirt here. Slight dampness at the bottom at the cuff. Slight dampness on the bottom, but overall feels pretty dry as well. Polo shirt. I don't know if you can see this or not, but it is definitely kind of wet on the bottom. Can you see the dampness there? It's damp. Only at the very bottom though. Egg shirt. Once again, slight dampness at the bottom, but mostly dry. I'd say 85% dry. This beautifully designed freaking review shirt. That doesn't feel damp at the bottom. Maybe at the very cuff at the on the sleeve, but that's about it. This one feels pretty dry. Let's feel my white t-shirts here. Slight dampness at the bottom. Slight dampness at the bottom. It's kind of a recurring theme here with this dampness at the bottom. Once again, slight dampness at the bottom. Same for this one as well. Now, they were very dry on the top. You could see all that heat accumulating up there. I think there was just so much in there, it was blocking the heat from going all the way down. So, the bottom was slower to dry. But after 1 hour, they're they're pretty dry. But I'm going to try one more thing before I wrap this thing up. I want to compare this to drying it other ways, not counting a traditional dryer. So, let me uh go prepare that and see how it goes.
All right, let's do one more test before we wrap this thing up. I've got three black t-shirts. All of them out of the wash. All of them covered in dog hair, by the way. I'm going to put one in here, one hanging up in the bathroom, one hanging up in the patio outside. It's currently 76 with a slight breeze. And we'll compare and after 15 minutes and see which one does the best. So, let's start that test right now. I'm putting this one on high. Put the UV on whether it works or not. Stopwatch is going. I'll check back in 15 minutes and see how they all compare.
We're 15 minutes. Let's check this one out first. Oh, yeah. Completely dry. 15 minutes. completely dry for just one shirt. Let's go check the others now and see how they held up. Uh, one of the bathroom still damp. Still completely damp. Hasn't really dried much at all in here. This one, it's it's drier than the one that was in the bathroom, but the edges are a little bit damp. The sleeves are a little bit damp. Mostly dry. I would say about 80% of the way there. Pretty good, but not as good as the one in the dryer.
So, as far as I can tell, this one lives up to its claims. It did a pretty good job all the tests I threw at it. It's faster than just hanging clothes up, and it doesn't emit a lot of heat into the room. Now, a dryer will make clothes softer and it'll also get out wrinkles and get rid of some of the dog hair. This one doesn't do that. But for something that's quick, portable, and cheap, I can see why it's the best seller on Amazon. And with that, let's move on to a couple bonus items I wanted to throw into this video.
Starting with the electric letter opener. Let's take a look at this electric letter opener. I paid 1640 for this on Amazon. Currently has a 4.2 star rating among over 700 reviews. This one I saw originally go around on Snapchat. instructions. There is pretty basic, pretty basic looking and a little bit on the cheap side, I must say. But they claim that it opens letters safely. No more sharp cutters and no more paper cuts. They say it turns on and off automatically. Can be used while holding or on a desk or table.
Now, those who like it said it does work and it's good for people with strength issues. Those who didn't like it, some people said it doesn't work very well or at all or it's too weak to cut an envelope. Some people said it's too loud. So, I'll read these over and we'll get started.
All right, let's try this out. Now, I loaded up the batteries in here, and I don't even know it works yet. I haven't tried it out, but let's let's see what happens. Just an empty envelope just to get started and see what happens here. Now, you supposedly you can do you can go either way, horizontal or vertical. Let's give it a shot here. Now, they have the the guide here that shows you which direction to put it in. First test. Here we go. Oh, wow. Whoa. Not only did it cut it, I mean, it's not perfectly straight, but it did cut it. But it grabbed it. It grabbed it and pulled it through there. Let's try an actual real world envelope. This is one my mortgage company sent to me. I haven't opened yet. So, let's just open this up and see what we got here. I'm going to go this direction for this one. Well, you know what's interesting? It It pulls it through there. And you can't even really go slow. You're going to have to go fast as Johnny Carson used to do. The first one worked well. We got a long ways to go, but I'm impressed after the first use. Some people like to cut them this direction. Let's try that now. And so, it comes out with this piece right here. And it is perfectly. Look at that. Woah. I had pretty low expectations for this, but so far they've been met, if not exceeded. I'm going to go through a few more of these. I'm going to kind of alternate between this direction and this direction. I was never one to open my envelopes this this way. Some people like that. I don't. But that worked well. I got I got a credit card offer here. Let's go the other way on this one. This is kind of on the thicker side. They say you're not supposed to use plastic envelopes, padded envelopes, or thick envelopes. This is on the thicker side, but it should it should be within the realm of possibility. We shall see. Oh, yeah. No problem. No, look at that. Went through like butter. I'm kind of impressed by this. I'm going to keep going. Wow. This one's from my insurance company, which I also haven't opened either. Usually I don't open a lot of mail because usually it's bad news. Here we go. Wow. I mean, I got a whole big stack of mail here. Let me just go flying through some of this. I'm going to do a lightning round. Do a whole bunch of mail at once. US Department of Commerce. Maybe I should have opened this one. All right, that's it. I declared this a success. This I had really low expectations for it. Usually when you see things on Snapchat, it's kind of like, is that really going to work? Usually, it's kind of over overhyped, over exaggerated. This one's not. This is the real deal. This actually works. It cuts letters both directions. It seems to have no problem with standard letter sizes, even some of the larger ones. So, as far as I can tell, this one works.
And let's wrap things up with this, the doodle projector. Let's take a look at this doodle projector. I paid 2462 for this on Amazon, where it currently has a 4.3 star rating among over 200 reviews. Instructions always good. All right, look. Clear. There's more in there. It just keeps going. All right, this is everything. Now, they claim that it can turn any room into an art gallery by projecting custom drawings onto walls or ceilings. Includes 10 reusable drawing discs. I assume that's what this is. And they say these can be wiped clean and reused again. Also, six erasable markers. Built-in marker storage somewhere. Requires four AA batteries not included.
Now, people online who liked it said it was fun, easy to use, and a great gift idea for kids. But some people didn't like it. They said the image is out of focus and there's no way you can focus it. Some people said it only works when it's close to a wall or it doesn't make the drawing look much bigger. Others said it gets too hot or doesn't work at all. I'll have to peruse these and then get started.
All right, I have assembled it, which was very easy to snap together. I've included the pins here. I installed the four AA batteries that were not included and I have perused the instructions. Now, my first observation is is they call it a doodle projector, but you don't project while you're doodling. What you're supposed to do is draw on one of these discs beforehand, let it dry, and then project it, which is kind of anticlimactic really. The instructions aren't real detailed. So, what you're supposed to do is draw on one of these discs, let it dry, stick it here, turn it on. There's a light in there. They say you can move it closer or further away from the ceiling or the wall. I guess to focus it. They don't really say that, but they kind of imply it. They say the disc can wipe clean with a cloth, but you got to do it within 24 hours or look stain.
So, let's start off by drawing on one of these discs. I have one of my one of my discs here. Every time I have to do something with includes drawing, it always shows what a bad artist I am. I'm going to try something different this time. Back when I was in school, we used to draw these. I don't even know what they're called. I'm not even sure what you call those. And it's not even very good. I've lost my touch. I'm just going to draw some random things. I also want to see go out to the edge here because see people saying there was a focus issue. I'm going to go out to the edge here. I'm just going to see how how these colors look. Especially the yellow. Can the yellow even show up? I barely even see that. All right. So, rather than boring you with me drawing a bunch of different things, I'm going to do some stuff off camera. I might have someone even help me. I'm going to head to my room tonight when it's dark and then we will see how this actually looks projected on the ceiling and the wall. I'll be checking for focus, brightness, and everything else I can think of. So, I'll meet you back here tonight in my room.
All right, I've got the projector sitting here on my bed with the dog blanket underneath it. Now, I've placed it in here. Now, if you want it to read the right way, you actually have to put it face down so the text looks backwards. So, let's see how it projects on the ceiling. And there it is. You can see my projection clock over here and my ceiling lamp there to get an idea how big it's pretty big. The problem is it's a little bit it's a little bit dim. It's definitely blurry. Can you read where it says yellow? I I guess you can. I struggled to read it from back here. I'll put on the wall here. You can see that light switch to give you an idea how big it is. The yellow is almost impossible to read. It seems like it's kind of a bit blurry out to the edges and less so in the middle. And there's also like a a white dot right in the center. Let's try a few more things. The other thing is getting this out of here is a bit of a pain. Sometimes you have to just turn upside down. There's also these tabs here. You want to put it underneath so it doesn't fall out of there. Right there it is. It says 2016 2026 FR. If that looks blurry to you and that looks blurry, that's because it is. It all looks pretty blurry to me. It looks a little bit better on the wall, but look how look how fuzzy that 26 is. It's not great, but it's it's okay. Here's one I didn't draw. Let's see how this looks. It's a flower. I mean, it's a bit of a fuzzy flower. It's fuzzy. And you can see that white dot right in the center. And it's kind of dim. When you zoom in on it, you can see it just it just looks fuzzy. It's a fuzzy flower. And there's Bolt down there chewing a bone. I mean, my other thought is that because you have to draw them separately, you know, like the the thrill is kind of gone. Like it it seems like it'd be more fun to draw it as as it's projecting on the ceiling rather than just plop it up there and stare at it or if it rotated or something. It just kind of sits there kind of dim, kind of fuzzy. I don't know. I think it's okay. I just don't really love it. Let's try something with some text on it. As this one says bolt boy and Bailey girl. Let me show you how. So now you can see it's a little bit on the fuzzy side. And as you get to towards the edge, that is that blurriness is on my camera. That is how it looks. Is just kind of blurry. And that's just the way it's going to look. And the other thing is the pins are kind of thin. You would think they'd be thicker. They're not. That's how thin the pins are. They're very thin. So as far as a doodle projector goes, I'm a little bit on the fence. Actually, I'm more disappointed than anything. It seems like it's kind of dim. It's not really in focus. And you don't even really doodle on it while it's projecting. You doodle on it beforehand, then just show it afterwards. I didn't get the feeling that my room was an art gallery. Like they said, and I'm sorry, it was an art gallery to me. I'm not saying this without merit, but I just feel like a lot of people might be disappointed. But on the other hand, your mileage may vary.
