MrBeast, who has become the world's number one YouTuber, with 280 million followers, earns $700 million a year. In Indian rupees, that's 5800-5850 crore rupees every year. Yes, it's a different matter that he says he isn't rich, and perhaps he isn't, because all the money he earns can be invested in his business and potential. We will also try to find out whether you should start on YouTube in 2024 because it seems to be very crowded. We will also try to answer that question.

First of all, youtube.com. This video is not for its promotion, although we have bought its pro account because it is a very beneficial tool, tool, tool—not a "trul". You can search for anything on the channel's name. So I do MrBeast, and when you go to his page, you will see everything that is happening on that page. 280 million subscribers, the world's number one channel—amazing! 52 billion views, which is the world's 19th rank in terms of views in the last 28 days. All this they have done. 3 billion views, 22 million subscribers, and they say that on average they must have earned 3 to 8 million dollars in the last month. If you take this to a year, then about 25 billion views, 120 million people subscribed in the last year, and in the last year, they must have earned a revenue of 21 to 60 million. And there are many such interesting things, big projects, where it can go. So if you look at the next two years, it is possible that MrBeast's channel will have 740 million subscribers. Who knows whether that happens or not, but this is the way to do it. You can watch all the videos, watch the shorts. So it's very...and this is all free, by the way. Upgrading is different because it includes all these tools.

Let's look at some others. So I saw Khan Sir. Khan Sir is very interesting. Let's look at the last year. 3.9 million subscribers, almost the world's 960th rank. In the last year, about 143 million views, around 860,000 subscribers, and they must have earned around 50,000 to 100,000 dollars, meaning 40 lakhs to about 1 crore rupees. And if we look at Akshay Srivastava, who runs a very good channel, then he has 2 million, the world's 1144th rank. If we look at the last year, 45 million views, about 4 lakh subscribers, and about 118 to 329k in revenue. I don't generally know if this revenue number is correct or not. How this happens, I will come to that point.

And then let's look at Labor Law Advisor, LLA. Let's look at the last year. 4.8 million, 868th rank in the world, which is very impressive. 397 million views in the last one year, 340,000 subscribers in the last one year, and 11 to 36,000. You will see that sometimes even with low views—sorry, high views, low revenue is also coming. We will try to answer this question at the end. Let's look at our channel. What's going on? 4.2 million. This month, we are in the top 1000 global channels. Our rank is 931. If we look at the last one year, 346 million views, 1.29 million subscribers, and 18,000 to 50,000 $3,000 in revenue. The projections were very interesting. In this, I saw that in the next two years it is possible we will reach about 99.1 million subscribers. Let's see what happens. Who knows anyway. So from this, we can see at least every channel's view count, how fast it is growing, what the last videos were, the thumbnails—all those things we can see, which is very powerful. And, of course, as I said, it's completely free. I mean, this is all free. There is a paid pro tools version as well. In that pro tools, many things are available, but I am not going there again. As I said, this is not a promotion of this video or this site.

So the first thing is ad revenue. What is ad revenue? And let me show you my YouTube days. Let's see. 50.7 million views, 180,000 subscribers. If we go to analytics, the last 28 days—51.4 million views and around 179,000 subscribers. So it's remarkably close. This level of accuracy. Of course, revenue because we earned one penny, this one penny I don't know how I earned. For those who may not know, ads are disabled on our channel. We don't run ads on our channel because I don't want to earn money from you by distracting your experience. That's why we don't run ads. It's our wish. There is nothing morally high about it, but views and subs being so accurate is quite, quite impressive. So this is our estimated revenue. Now this revenue could have been, but it didn't happen. The reason is simple: We didn't run ads. But where does this revenue come from? Whenever you click on something, maybe YouTube…in this, a very big nuance, what is that nuance? If you see Waraku, 50 million views in the last 28 days, and estimated revenue is 2.5 to 7,500 dollars. And if you compare this with, say, Akshay Srivastava, in 28 days, the views have decreased because they might be deleting some videos or something. But if you see the revenue, 33 to about 100,000—sorry, 100,000. Now, I don't know if this is true or not, but clearly this number is much higher than Ankur Warikoo. Or I think it's a good example where maybe they didn't delete videos. Rachna Ranade, because she also creates personal finance content. If you see in the last 28 days, 3.36 million views. My 50 million views are much, much, much less—only 3.3 million. But if you see the revenue, 100,000 to 200,000, and mine is 10,000 to 20,000. It's not that I'm making a lot of money from my 50 million views. No. And what's the difference? The difference is that where are most of these views coming from? From long-form content or shorts? Revenue on shorts is very, very, very low. So you can explore shorts very quickly. You can get views very quickly on shorts, but the views of shorts do not directly transform into ad revenue very well. To explain this, let me show you our dedicated shorts video. I don't know how many of you know, in our last 28 days, 3.6 million views have come. So it's not bad—similar to Rachna Ranade. How much did we earn? 35,000 to 50,000 on 3.6 million views. You can't make your living on this 50,000. If you are running a shorts channel on YouTube, even if you get 2 billion views in the last month, you will only get 50,000. If those 36–30 million views happen, then you will get 100,000, which will be considered a respectable salary, that too at a starting level. If you want to earn lakhs of rupees, you will have to get crazy views—100 million, 200 million on a monthly basis. And when we fight, I mean, with all our heart and soul, we run our shorts and long-form content on our main channel, which is the Wari channel. After that, our monthly cumulative views came to 50 million. If we had turned on ad revenue on this 50 million and it was only shorts, then maybe 25,000 to 50,000, maybe 35,000-40,000, because it has long-form videos. And in long-form videos, ads are seamlessly integrated very well. If there is a 30-minute video, there are multiple ads in it. The probability of clicking increases a lot. So you end up making a lot more money, which is why channels that are only long-form or predominantly long-form, their ad revenue is much, much, much higher than short-form ad revenue. That's the difference. Now, the difference is your category. I ask you a question. Sachin Tendulkar vs Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli or car insurance—in both, which keyword has more search queries? I mean, what do you think? More people are searching for Virat Kohli or car insurance? Let's find out. I don't know the answer, but you can go to google.com and find the answer to this question. So we do Virat Kohli vs Sachin Tendulkar. If we look at India, we won't look at the past five days, we'll look at the past 12 months, because there was a peak. I don't know why this peak came in November, and all this. And we will compare car insurance. If Virat Kohli's score is 29, then car insurance's score is 3. I mean, 10 times more people are searching for Virat Kohli than car insurance. In comparison, you will see these two lines. There are 10 times more people searching for Virat Kohli than car insurance. Okay. Which of these two search words, search queries, makes more money for Google? Does Virat Kohli make more money for Google, or does car insurance make more money for Google? Now, the answer is very interesting, because when you search for Virat Kohli, what are you usually doing? How many runs did Virat Kohli score? Sorry, runs. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. How many runs did he score? How many matches did he win? What's going on in his life? Which shows is he appearing on? Which ads is he doing? How much money is he earning? This is all fine. Basically, news around Virat Kohli. When you are searching for car insurance, most likely you are doing it to buy or compare. I mean, there is an intention to buy, there is an intention to make a transaction. That's why you will see more ads on car insurance. So if I search for Virat Kohli on Google, look, there are no ads. Just news, news, news, news, news, news, news, news, news, news, news, news, news, news, news. Okay. Car insurance. Look at car insurance. Car insurance, car insurance, car insurance, car insurance, car insurance, car insurance, car insurance. Literally, it seems like Google's machine, right? What happened? Your category becomes an important determinant of how much money you will earn. This is called eCPM, or effective cost per 1000 views or 1000 impressions. This means how much money you get on average for every 1000 views. The content of that category where people are actually buying something, whether it's fashion, electronics, or finance, will make more money. But that category, which is for information, for entertainment, will make less money because a direct transaction category or transaction industry is not applicable there. And this is a second difference. So you will see that for the same views, if both channels are creating long-form content, but one channel is creating content on transactional industries and one channel is creating content on information industries, the transactional one will earn more money than the information industry. That's the second. But this world of ad revenue is very small. There is a far bigger world that opens up once you go beyond.

Step two is affiliate. What is affiliate? Now, in affiliate, let's go back to my channel. Let's go to some content. Recently, as our content was released, this is the description of the video. The notes have come, everything has come, etc., has happened. But you will also see that there are some links here. My money apps are interesting. I click, and this is a document, and there is some description, the names of the platforms, and some links, like Zerodha for Indian stock investing, and its link is there. When I click on this link, it takes you to the sign-up page of Zerodha. See the URL—z.com—open account. See, easy m-p-a-c-y. This code is my affiliate code. This is a code through which I can track how many people have opened a Zerodha account through this link. What is my benefit? Because whoever opens an account on Zerodha through this link and then buys something, from that Zerodha revenue, x% will be given to me, which is called affiliate income. It means when a transaction happens by clicking on one of your links, a share of that transaction is shared with you. The other affiliate income that I have is with am7 camera. This is the camera or the lens. If I click on this, it will take you to an Amazon page. On the Amazon page, you are seeing tag equals Ankur Warikoo dash 21. This is my affiliate code. So we did take this camera, a very expensive camera—sorry, lens. But if you click on this link, you will get a link, and even if I go to shorts, I will not say this every time, but very few people read this entire content. Usually, you keep scrolling, but very rarely will you find that I am reading something or not in the description. So your ability to get people to click on your affiliate links, if it's a short or if it's a long, if you make long-form content, your affiliate income scale can increase. How big can this be? Let me give you what that is.

So in our analytics, first of all, we see what our content is. Shorts, live. Let's look at our last 28—no, not 28, let's look at one year. In the last one year, about 68.5 million views came on long-form. Okay. Long-form, to give you a comparison, shorts had 288. Near four times more. Okay. Let's go to long-form—68.5, which is about the same as the previous one. Impressions are less. Whatever. On this view, we made approximately 50 lakhs on affiliate, 50 lakhs—I mean, 68.5 million views. After 680 lakh views, we have about 50 lakh rupees in affiliate income. This is the reality of how affiliate income is. So it's very good to see, but only at a very large scale is it a large amount. Otherwise, it's fairly, fairly low. Then comes the third thing, and the third thing is direct selling. What does direct selling mean? Direct selling means that your views are coming, people are consuming your content, paying attention to it. So naturally, because of that, you have the ability to convince them or to sell them something. And now you can choose what you want. You can sell your courses, you can sell your merchandise, you can sell your consulting, you can sell your expertise, you can sell your ebooks, you can sell books, you can sell anything you want to sell, and this can be very large scale, very big. There is no limit to it, because there are mega-brands that have been created. MrBeast created Feastables, a brand. And that Feastables brand is what? Basically, this is that MrBeast kept saying in his videos, "world's best chocolate, world's best chocolate, world's best chocolate," and suddenly it was like, "Okay, so now there's MrBeast chocolate. Let's find out." And this is what it did. And it's—I don't know the actual revenue of Feastables. It says it is about 100 million. Reportedly made 10 million in the first 72 hours itself. And it makes about 100 million. Yes, stable chocolate—staggering 100 million in annual revenue. 100 million dollars in revenue is not a joke. So there are people who are able to do that. MrBeast has done that. Now you see MrBeast, the world's number one YouTuber, even with his full fight, when he directs all his attention to one brand, Feastables, then he earns 100 billion in revenue. That means it's not easy, and it is something that will take effort, will take time, and will take a lot, lot of patience. And then comes the final thing: brand deals. What are brand deals? Brand deals are where you are not monetizing through the ads. I use Google. I like Zerodha very much, and it is my preferred demat account. Yes, Groww is there, Upstox is there, 5Paisa is there, Dhan is there. I have never used them. I have always used Zerodha. I am very happy, and if you also want to use it, you can. I use Smallcase for my portfolio investing. I like it very much. It's very convenient, one-click, integrated with Zerodha. So I don't have to think too much, and it has given me great returns. For my US investing, I use iADR Money. It's very good. I find it safe, money is transferred very easily. It gives me a view of my portfolio, not just my US stocks, but also my Indian mutual funds, my fixed deposits, my real estate investments, my family's as well. So I can get the entire view of all of my investments and of my family's investments as well. Now, if I create content on this and tell people that you pay me for it, that can work, and that is actually the best way to make money for YouTubers. Number one, it can come very quickly and be very meaningful very soon. For example, if you even have 10,000–200,000 followers, you can take 3000, 4000, 5000 from a brand for a video. Usually, half of the subscriber count is like the desired or the ideal amount for integration. So 20,000 followers—10,000. Give or take. Which means if you assume you are making two videos a week, in a month it's eight, and out of those eight, if you can sponsor three or two, then it becomes 30,000–40,000. That's not bad at all. Now, if you monetize those eight videos with ads, you won't earn more than 3000–5000, even if it's a lot. So suddenly, brand deals matter a lot. Now, where do these brand deals come from? They usually come from influencer marketing agencies. Either you become a part of them, or at some point in time they will start reaching out to you automatically. Like the best way to do that is to own a niche. You want to grab a niche, whether it is fashion, gaming, personal finance, or entertainment. If you grab a niche, many brands that want to target the audience of that niche will come to you because they have a dashboard. And they're like, "Who is the top influencer in this category?" That becomes a separate category, and then there are many volume influencers with whom they work because they know that those small, small, small audiences together can become a very collective audience. Usually, they are not overlapping. So brand deals then become a great way of making money. So MrBeast himself says that I earn one to two million dollars on every video from ad revenue, but from brand deals, about the same. So if there were no brand deals, the ad income would have been only half. And that is the power. Here, because ad revenue is zero. Affiliate, I told you, about 50 lakhs. We don't do direct selling. All of the selling that happens on Webveda, which is our tech platform, is through ads. It is never through organic videos or inserts. So the only other thing is brand deals. We have gradually focused less on brand deals only because earning and content creation as such is not my main income stream. My main income stream is my startup, which is Webveda. But there are a lot of good-quality brands that I would want to work with. And I always work with those brands that I personally use, whose founders I know personally, or that brand is very reputable. The whole world knows them. And of course, there is a strong value proposition working with them. So every year we make anywhere between 4 to 5 crore in brand deals, which at our scale is much lower than what others would be making. We know that consciously we are earning very little. If we want, this 4–5 crore can be 8, 9, 10, 12 crore. But it's a conscious choice that we want to earn less because our focus is the education startup. But if you get to that scale, you can make that money. Knowing all this, the biggest question is: In 2024, if you want to become a YouTuber, is it right to become one? And...
