Reactive lymphocytes versus monocytes. So with a reactive lymphocyte, the cytoplasm is going to have a dark blue edge and it's going to radiate towards a lighter blue as it moves towards the nucleus. It looks like it'll be grabbing the red cells around it.
Versus the monocyte, which will have more of a blue-gray color to the cytoplasm, sandy in appearance. And it will look like it's more pushing the red cells rather than grabbing.
And for the nucleus of our monocyte, still be a pleomorphic shape, loose and lacy chromatin pattern, as opposed to our reactive lymphocyte, which will have usually a darker chromatin pattern, prominent white striations, and a stretch usually to the nucleus.
