Master Teach Us To Pray | Part 1 (REMASTERED)

All right, so today we're going to go into a teaching that I've entitled, "Master, Teach Us to Pray." Master, teach us to pray. Now, we've done a lot of foundational teachings up to this point, and I wanted to continue in that idea of building our foundational understanding. And so, one of the things that we want to make sure to do in building our foundational understanding is deal with all of the core issues that we need as the body of believers to understand. And I think that certainly, there's not too much that's more core than prayer.

And so, in Luke 11 and verse 1, if you want to turn there, we can begin there. Luke 11 and in verse 1, it says, "And it came to be while he was praying in a certain place, as he ceased, one of his students, one of his talim, said to him, 'Master, teach us to pray, as John also taught his taught ones.'" And so, here's a reference now to again understanding that there was a leadership in place that people had gone to. There was a teacher, John the Immerser, was a teacher that the students then went to and learned things from, including how to pray. But now that Yeshua was doing the teaching, they wanted to hear from him. "Master, teach us how to pray." And he says to them in verse 2, and he starts to give them an understanding of how to pray. Now, we're not going to read that now, and actually, I'm going to read that model prayer in Matthew, not here in Luke. But I want to start out with our whole point of this, as we get into prayer, is that this is something we should be desiring to understand too. As, "Master, teach us how to pray." And the students asked this exact question. They said, "Master, teach us how to pray."

So, let's start out with why. Why should we pray? Because if we're going to do something, we should have the correct motivation, uh, and motivational understanding behind what we're doing, so that we have the right drive and that we have the right focus when we go to do it. So, why should we pray? And the first point I want to make is because Yeshua did. Okay. And if we're going to understand that Yeshua is our model, Yeshua is our goal, Yeshua is the way we're supposed to do things, what he did, we should do because he did it perfectly. That we're supposed to be working on being transformed and conformed into the image of the Son. It doesn't mean that we're going to go get plastic surgery and look like him all of a sudden. It's talking about transforming in our actions, in our beliefs, in our focus, in the way we do things, and the way we handle things, so that we do everything the way he did it. How he loved, how he forgave, how he spoke to the Father, how he focused on authority, how he observed and kept and did all of those things character-wise is the transforming and the conforming. So, we don't need to worry about getting plastic surgery. We don't all have to look like him. But when someone looks at you, we need to look like him. In other words, they have to see him in you, not the physical features, but the physical manifestations of the fruit in the way you walk, in the way you talk, and the way you act, and how you handle and do everything. And so, when I say, "Why should we pray?" and my answer is, "Because Yeshua did." Well, anything that he did, we should be following that pattern. We did a whole teaching called "Follow the Pattern Exactly" because he is the pattern that we are striving to meet and to match and become like. And so, we want to look at what he did.

So, let's turn to Matthew 14. Matthew 14 and verse 23. Now, I know in the last couple of months, we've been doing a lot of the "Heart of the Matter" teachings. We've been staying in one place. Well, today, we're going to get back to the old style of my teachings, which was jumping everywhere throughout scripture to see what scripture has to say. So, we're going to turn a lot of pages today. Matthew 14 and in verse 23. Well, we read verse 22. It says, "And immediately Yeshua made his taught enter into the boat and go before him to the other side while he dismissed the crowds." So, we're talking about Yeshua here, what he did. And having dismissed the crowds, this is him doing it. He says, "While he dismissed the crowds, having dismissed the crowds, he went up to the mountain by himself to pray. And when evening had come, he was alone there." So, he went up to pray, and he prayed by himself. So, we're getting a little bit of an idea that he definitely prayed. And as far as how we should pray, keep that in mind. He went by himself. So, there's an aspect of prayer that you do by yourself.

Let's continue in Luke 3 and:21. Luke 3 and in verse 21, "And it came to be when all the people were immersed, that Yeshua also, being immersed and praying, that the heaven was opened." So, here we see an example of Yeshua praying when he was immersed. And so, what we do when we immerse people, when we do the Mikvah, we have the immersion ceremony, the baptisms. One of the things that you're encouraged to do is to go out into the water and have a quiet time where you're going to pray privately as part of the process. You pray before you go under the water. You can pray again when you come out of the water. When you first come up out of the water, because we see the example. It says, "And it came to be when all the people were immersed, Yeshua also, being immersed at praying, that the heaven opened." So, Yeshua was praying when he was immersed.

Let's turn to chapter 5 and verse 15. Chapter 5 and in verse 15. We're still in Luke. "And the news about him, about Yeshua, was spreading even more, and large crowds were coming together to hear and to be healed by him of their sicknesses. But he was often withdrawing himself to lonely places and praying." So, even though there were all these people being brought to him and they being drawn to him for healing and other things, he made it a priority under those circumstances, even the needs of those circumstances, to withdraw and to pray in isolated or lonely places, places where he could be by himself. And so, we can draw an inference out of this that there was something possibly that had to do with "recharging his batteries," that had to do with going off on his own and praying. That while people were needing of him and receiving from him, that he needed to go and receive and do something to kind of refill himself in that process. Because it mentions it in the connection, and we're looking for how things contextually are connected. We've been doing that for a long time in the teachings, and we see that there's a connection between people coming to him in large crowds to be healed and his needing to withdraw himself often. Okay, that word is in italics, it's not actually in the Greek, but it's implied there that he would do this. He was, he was withdrawing himself to lonely places and praying. And so, that's an important, again, we're told he did this by himself. And he did it even in the context of the great need. Because one of the things that you will do, and I do it, and I know you do it as well, is you will find excuses not to pray because of busyness that seems justifiable, good works, busyness, not just regular business. But you say, "But I had all these important good things I needed to do to help somebody, and I didn't have time to pray." Well, these are people that came to be healed by him of their sicknesses, and yet he still was withdrawing from them to pray. And so, my inference, my take, is that if he's willing to do that under those circumstances, certainly we have no excuse not to make that kind of time under whatever our circumstance we have. Now, there are emergencies and there are non-emergencies. There are needs that can wait. And quite frankly, you may be better able to handle and better able to serve that need if you were to withdraw and pray for a little bit somewhere along that way. And so, I want you to consider that.

Let's continue in Luke chapter 9. In Luke chapter 9 and verse 18. Luke 9 and verse 18. "And it came to be as he, that Yeshua, was alone praying, the taught ones were with him, and he asked them, saying, 'Who do the crowd say that I am?'" So, so before we get into what the question was, because that wasn't really the point of this verse, the point the verse was saying, "It came to be as he was alone praying that the taught ones were with him." And he asked them, saying, "Who do the crowds say that I am?" You, if you are a believer in Yeshua, if you are submissive to the Torah instructions of Yahweh, you are no longer Gentile. Doesn't matter what you were born, doesn't matter how you were raised, doesn't matter how you grew up. You've made a decision to change your citizenship from the Nations to being an Israelite, to being in the nation, not the Nations, but the nation, the nation called Israel. So he's saying, look, don't do what Gentiles do because you're not Gentile. He says, "For they think they shall be heard for the many words." He said, "Therefore, do not be like them, for your heavenly Father knows what you need before you ask Him."

In other words, you don't even need to use words. He says, "This then is the way you should pray." Now, by the way, this section here where it says, "Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need," to say and don't do the babbling, this verse is not dealing with, and it's not talking, talking about speaking in tongues or prayer languages or any of that other stuff. The Father's saying, look, and Yeshua is saying right here, look, your words are not what matters. What matters is your approach. And he's going to give us our right approach. What matters is your approach.

Now, in the approach that we're going to read in this model prayer, you're not going to hear him asking for anything except his daily bread and forgiveness. But notice that it's all given in parameters of ifs. He says, "This is how you're going to pray. This is the way you should pray." Right? "Our Father who's in the heaven, let Your name be set apart, let Your name be kadosh. Let Your kingdom or Your reign come. Let Your desire be done on Earth as it is in heaven." So before he asks for anything, he starts out by acknowledging who he's talking to. He's acknowledging who he's dealing with. That's how you should start out. Don't just run your knee saying, "I need, I need, I need, I need, I need. I want, I want, I want, I want, I want. Give me, give me, give me, give me." Me, that's what five-year-olds do, okay? We're not five-year-olds. So we need to come to Him and start saying, "Father, I come to You respectfully and humbly, acknowledging who You are, that You have authority, that You are in charge, that Your will is done everywhere in heaven and on the earth."

And then he says, "Give us today," verse 11, "our daily bread." And that connection, of course, the daily bread should be connected to the manna that they received, to Yeshua being the bread of life, to the Torah being that, you know what, we should be eating. "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the Almighty." So that's what he's talking about by bread. The bread that brings life.

And then he says, in verse 12, he says, "And forgive us our debts." And do not lead us into trial. Did anybody notice I skipped anything? He says, "And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors." There's an "as" in there. There's an "if." Then there's a relationship between what you do and what they did. You are asking Him to forgive you in like manner, in the same way, as like onto how you deal with your debtors. He says, "Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors." And do not lead us into temptation or trial or into testing, but deliver us from the wicked one, because yours, this is the reason now, because we're acknowledging again, "Yours is the reign and the power and the esteem forever. Amen."

Now, that's a framework for starting off your prayer. Now notice, now he's going to instruct them a little bit more about what he was talking about in that prayer. Verse 14, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father shall also forgive you." For more detail about this, you can listen to the teaching that we called "Forgiveness." Okay, we have a teaching called "Forgiveness." But notice what he says here, "If you, if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father shall also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither shall your Father forgive your trespasses."

Do you believe what Yeshua just said? Because I can assure you, it's true. And that it's, it's the reality of how things work in the universe, that you must forgive those who have trespassed against you, or your heavenly Father will not forgive you. If you're having a problem, if you're having a problem where you are not feeling forgiven, where you're not feeling like the Father has released you of the, the guilt that you have, and you've prayed, and you've, you've done everything to beseech Him, it could be, it could be that you have not forgiven somebody that you're holding on to some unforgiveness of a trespass. It could be something that you've not laid down, that you're holding on to, that is hindering your being forgiven. And that's really key, by the way. That could be as simple or as profound as not forgiving yourself. Don't ever forget that piece of it. If you've not forgiven yourself for what you did, your Father won't forgive you either. You have to learn to forgive yourself too, and realize, hey, I learned my lesson. I made my mistake. I am committing never to do it again. I need to forgive myself because that's still an unforgiveness that the Father will not allow you to be forgiven. If you can't even forgive yourself, how can you expect Him to forgive you? If you won't forgive yourself, and you'll go to Him and say, "Father, forgive me," yet six months later, you haven't forgiven yourself, you're still holding on to that guilt, thinking that you're no longer worthy of something because of something you did, yet it was forgiven, or at least it would have been forgiven if you had forgiven yourself. And so your prayers are hindered over this. Your prayers are hindered over this.

Let's continue now in, let's see, we want to go to Mark 11:11. Mark, Mark 11:1. Mark 11 and verse 11. "And Yeshua went into Jerusalem, into the set-apart place. And having looked around on all, He went out to Bethany with the 12, as the hour was already late. And on the next day, when they come out of Bethany, He was hungry. And seeing at a distance a fig tree." Now, this is a huge amount of context that I'm going to give you to lead to a part that has to do with prayer, okay? It's a large amount of context that I want to make sure to give you as we're going to get to the point where I'm dealing with the part on prayer. So, "And seeing at a distance a fig tree." Remember, Yeshua is hungry. "Now having leaves, He went to see whether He would find any fruit on it. And when, when He came to it, He found that none, there was none, but leaves, for it was not the season for figs." And Yeshua responding said to it, "Let no one eat fruit from you ever again." And His tall ones heard it. And they came to Jerusalem. When they came to Yeshua, entering into the set-apart place, began to drive out those who had bought and sold. We have them driving out the money changers.

Now, notice the context here. First, we see something not bearing fruit. It's not bearing fruit, and He's hungry, and it's not bearing fruit. Then all of a sudden, got this money changer thing, and He calls them a den of robbers. "My, my house shall be called the house of prayer for all nations, but you've made a den of robbers." In verse 17. And He flips over the tables, and the scribes and the Pharisees are all upset, and the whole thing is all going on. And then when evening comes, verse 19, He goes out of the city. And in the morning, He passes by again this fig tree, and the fig tree now is dried up from its roots. But again, you see, it's not just un, it's not coincidence that the money changer thing happened in the middle of all this. What was going on with the money changers? They were not bearing fruit. The fruit was no good. There were leaves. In other words, they were in the temple, they were saying they were doing all these right things, but the fruit was all wrong. You see, the fruit was all wrong, and He flipped over their tables, just like He was disappointed in the fig tree not having figs. He was disappointed in the money changers doing the, the, the unequal weights and robbing from the brethren. You see how that plays out? Then He comes to this tree, and the roots are now all dried up. And Kea remembering said to Him, "Rabbi, look, the fig tree which You cursed has withered." And Yeshua answering said to them, "Have belief in Elohim. For truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says shall be done, he shall have whatever he says."

"Because of this, I say to you, whatever you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them. And whenever you stand praying, if you hold whatever against anyone, forgive, so that your Father in Heaven shall also forgive you your trespasses." So this is that kind of context again, matching you back to Matthew chapter 6.

Now notice what he's talking about here. He says, "For truly I say to you," verse 23, "whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes of what he says, he shall be done, he shall have whatever he says." I want to throw something in there. This is something that, that may or may not be correct metaphorically, but it may be very important metaphorically for us to understand the idiom when we read the verse here. He says, "whoever says to this mountain." There's a verse that you hear all the time that people want to metaphorically link it to any horrible difficult thing in your life that may be this mountain in your life. "A mountain in your life. Oh, you say into this mountain, be cast into the sea." Where was Yeshua standing when He said this? He was right outside of the mountain. That was Mount Mariah, where the Temple Mount was, okay? And apparently the children right now are trying to cast that mountain into the [Music] sea. That's okay. Listen, we love the little children. Unfortunately, little children aren't loving it right now, okay? So what we have, what we're talking about here is His disciples who are being prepared to go and bring the word, or bring what's supposed to be going on from the temple into the people. The idiom of the mountain being the place where Torah is taught, being cast into the people. How's that for a nice way of looking at this idiom? He says, "If you believe." He says, "I say to you, whoever believes is able to say to this mountain, Mount Mariah, where the temple is, 'Be thrown into the sea,' which is another way of talking about the people, more importantly, the scattered Israelites, those of the dispersion, those of scattered to the sea." He says, "And does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says shall be done, he shall have whatever he says." Cuz now he's laying a little hint in their heart and in their minds, and they, they would have understood the idiom on some level. These are phrases that they use in those days that we don't use today. Of course, people, you do use this phrase in the churches and everything, but they use it incorrectly. He's never saying some horrible obstacle was in your, in your life. He's talking about casting something valuable into the sea, the people. I believe that's what the idiom was talking about because look at the context. He showed us a fig tree not bearing fruit. He brings us to the temple where there's, there's no fruit being born. The, the money changers are doing what they're doing. And then he comes, the fig tree has been cursed, and he's saying, "Don't you guys get it? What I say happens. What the Father says happens. We're doing it in line with what the Almighty's uh plan is." And he said, "Look, if you would only believe and trust it, then what you ask for, if you ask for it in line with what we're teaching you, it will happen also." And he says, "But you have to trust and not doubt." He says, "Because of this, I say to you, whatever you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them."

Now, this is not the name it, claim it gospel over here. This has to do with the context of everything being bearing righteous fruit. So he's making sure that it's, it's not just standing here out of nowhere, all by itself, this verse. So let's not turn it into a name it claim it. He's saying, look, "Because of this, I say to you, whatever you ask for when you pray." Now notice what he talks about in the next verse. He says, "Whenever you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so your Father in Heaven shall forgive you. If you do not forgive, neither shall your Father in Heaven forgive your trespasses."

So all of that's going on here, which brings us back to, if you're not hearing the Torah, your prayers are, are not being, are being hindered. They're not being listened to. If you're not righteous, that the prayers of the unrighteous are an abomination. That's, that's not being negated. All of a sudden, just saying something and believing it means it's going to happen. All of that's being brought in together. Does that make sense? All of that has to be brought in together. So we're taking things in the fullness of what it says, in the fullness of what Yeshua means here.

Let's continue in Luke 18 and verse 1. In Luke 18 and verse 1, we're going to probably have to make this into two parts because it doesn't look like we're going to be able to finish this today. Luke 18 and verse 1. "And He said to His taught ones, 'It is inevitable that stumbling blocks should come, but woe to him through whom they come.'" Did you hear the first part of that? By the way, "It is inevitable that stumbling blocks are going to come." So stop freaking out when they come. Stop just losing your cool and getting totally distraught when a stumbling block comes. It's inevitable. But he said, "This woe to you if you're the one causing the stumbling block." So instead of worrying so much about the other person causing you some sort of irritating stumbling block or problem, you better focus on making sure you're not being a stumbling block to somebody else or causing one. That's the seriousness that's going on here.

Verse 1, "He said it would be better for him to, if a, a millstone is put around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble." It would be better if you would just killed yourself. We're in, we're in, uh, Luke chapter, Luke chapter 17 instead of 18. That's my fault. You know what? I like this stuff anyway. That's what I get for reading the wrong chapter. You know why? Because I said we're going to read 1 through 17. In my notes, the number 17 got in my head, and I went to verse, chapter 17. See that a block? Woe onto me for causing a stumbling block. No, this is good stuff anyway, but we need to have it because it's going to be important context when we get to chapter 18. So he says, "Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him." This is going to connect us to what we talked about in the model prayer, forgiving your brother.

Now let's go to Luke 18 and verse 1. "And He spoke a parable to them that they should always pray and not lose heart." So this is a parable dealing with always praying but not losing heart. "Saying, 'In a certain city there was a certain judge, not fearing Elohim, nor regarding man. And a, a widow was in that city, and she came to him saying, "Do right to me on my adversary." And he would not for a while. But afterward he said to himself, "Well, even if I do not fear Elohim, nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me, I shall do right to her, lest by her continual coming she wears me out."'"

All right. So here's a guy, he's a judge. He doesn't care what Yahweh says, doesn't care what man says. But this woman is basically driving him a little dizzy. She's nagging him. And so he doesn't want to deal with the nagging. So he says, "Look, I, you know what? I might as well just do what she wants, otherwise she's just going to drive me crazy coming back to me over and over again." He says, "She's going to wear me out."

And the Master said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge said. And shall Elohim not do right by all means to His own chosen ones who are crying out day and night to Him, and being patient over them? I say to you that He shall do right to them speedily. But when the Son of Adam comes, shall He find the belief on the earth?" In other words, he's really trying to lay out for us here, look, it's okay that you're going to come to your Father and you're going to ask what you need to ask, but you should be asking believing that He's going to do it. So theoretically, and in truth, you really shouldn't have to ask more than once, except to ask, "What is it I maybe have not done right, which is why You haven't answered my prayer the way I'd like You to? Or maybe I'm not seeing that You have answered the prayer correctly, but it's not the way I wanted. And how can I understand that You gave the right answer and I need to just accept what You've answered?" Because sometimes we think that I have to keep asking and keep asking and keep asking, and that's what he's talking about here.

And also, and and he also spoke this parable to some who relied on themselves, that they were righteous and looking down on others. So this again has to do with the people that are thinking, "Hey, you know, you need to answer my prayer because look at me, I'm so righteous." You, you know, you have to do what I ask. Remember, Torah observance does not obligate the Almighty to do anything for you. See, that's what Paul's talking about when he says that salvation is not obligated of the Almighty to give you because of what you do in the works of Torah. Salvation is a free gift. Torah observance does protect you, keeps you safe. So if you're doing it, it's going to still keep you safe. That's what it's designed to do. It will bless you because it is designed to do that as well. It brings blessing, but it doesn't obligate the Almighty in any way. So you can't go to and say, "Look, You have to do this for me because of, look what I did." And that's what he's talking about here.

Now let's continue in the verse here. He says, "And so he also spoke this parable to some who relied on themselves, that they were righteous and looking down on others. Two men went up to the set-apart place to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and began to pray with himself. Who's he praying with himself? This way: 'Elohim, I thank You that I am not like other men, swindlers, unrighteous, adulterers, or even this tax collector. I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I possess.'"

But the tax collector, standing at a distance, would not even raise his eyes. Now notice the difference is what we're going to see here, the contrast. This Pharisee basically said, "Look at all these things I did. You owe me. I deserve whatever I'm asking for. Look at how great I am." He didn't understand Deuteronomy 8:2 said that Yahweh would lead you through a wilderness to humble you. Step one, to test you, to prove to you whether or not, to prove to Him whether or not you would keep His commandments or not. To prove, He wants to know. He's just saying, "Look, I kept the commandments." But he didn't keep it being humbled first. He missed step one. You can't skip any steps. Step one is to be humbled. By the way, can we all agree that you can keep Torah without being humbled? Absolutely. You do not need to be humble to eat right, keep the Sabbath, keep the feasts, and tithe, and do all the other things like he said he did. You don't have to be humble to fast. You have to be humble to do any of these things. It's not going to score any points for you because it's not about scoring points. It's about trying to do what's pleasing in the eyes of your Father, wanting to see Him smile.

Now the tax collector, then standing at a distance, would not even raise his eyes to the heavens, but even, but he was beating his breast and saying, "Elohim, show favor unto me, a sinner." In other words, he's saying, "I don't favor." He's saying, "Grace." In other words, "Show me favor that is undeserved and unearned. I'm a sinner. I'm looking for favor, knowing that I'm a sinner." He says, "I say to you, this man went down to his house declared right rather than the other. For everyone who is exalting himself shall be humbled, and he who is humbling himself shall be exalted."

So you see what happened? The sinner didn't say, "Bless me because I sin." He's saying, "Look, I need unearned favor because I am acknowledging that I'm a sinner. I'm coming to You humbly. I'm not, I can't even look up at You because I'm embarrassed for my sin." He was looking for forgiveness. He was trying to make teshuvah. And he said, "Father, I need grace." And the grace is the shed blood of Yeshua to cover what he did so that he could be wiped clean, so he can then go forward and not sin. Which of course is the problem in the church is they're trying to make the point that the covered blood covers you for what you sinned, so now that now you can't sin because nothing you do is sin anymore because quite frankly, you're told you can go do whatever you want. Well, that's not true. You're told that you have to obey God in whatever ambiguous sort of ooey gooey feely thing that is, because they certainly aren't giving you instructions to show that the scripture to tell you what you have to do, except of course, tithing, not murdering, and not committing adultery. They're pretty good with those. Maybe not stealing. Everything else, you know, pretty much is a, is a feely thing. So you're listening for a feeling for that word of God. Well, I didn't feel I'm supposed to do that yet. Well, who cares what you feel? I don't mean to be so blunt, but I do what you feel doesn't matter. You can't trust what you feel. It's a whole point of the 16 parts of the heart of the matter. You can't trust your feelings. He says.

So here he's saying, look, this one humbled himself, and therefore he was declared right. That's the key. That's the key. Now, there's a whole lot more I want to cover here. We're going to end here for today, and we'll cover this again next week. We'll probably just make this two parts because I don't think we'll need to go into three. So let's go before the Almighty in prayer as we were instructed to do.

Father, we want to come before You now, humbly acknowledging that we are not deserving of anything except that which we've earned through our actions. But Father, we know that You can provide a covering through the shed blood of Your Son. And we are so excited to know that that is possible if we have earned favor in Your sight, if we have come to You in the way that You desire, in truth and righteousness, in our focus, in our, our asking of forgiveness by repentance. If we come humbly in a repentant heart and ask for forgiveness, we know that You will forgive. And Father, we come also humbly asking that if there's anybody we've not forgiven, Father, that You help us to forgive them. We need to come to You knowing that we've forgiven all those that have trespassed against us.

Father, we come to You acknowledging who You are. You are Creator. You are Ruler. You are Sovereign. And that Your will would be done in our lives, in the heaven and everywhere in existence, everywhere in the creation. We know that You are sovereign. Father, we ask that You would help us to really embrace what You're teaching us about prayer. That we would desire to spend time with You. Prayer is simply quiet, private time with You. If we could only understand that that's what it's all about. That it's private, quiet time with You. Time where we can talk to You, and You can talk to us. There, there's a conversation that can be had. Father, help us to have the flesh, which is weak, become strengthened, so that the spirit, which is eager, can accomplish the good that it desires to do. Help us to then be able to have the patience and the endurance to pray, not just for one hour, but to learn to pray always, as we will cover next week, that we are instructed in Your word to pray always. So always be in a state of vertical communication and vertical awareness, which essentially is a state of prayer.

Father, we love You and we desire to be like Your Son, to be transformed and conformed into His image. And we want to do what He did in the way that He did it, as best as we can. And we know that He prayed often and by Himself and for long periods of time. Father, help us to truly understand what You desire from us in our prayer life. That is our prayer in this time. Father, we also do this in His authority. We ask in the name of Yeshua. We come to You in the authority of Yeshua. We seek Him as our Advocate to come before You and beseech You on our, in our, uh, in our behalf. And so it's in His name and in His authority that we do ask all these things. And we all say, Amen. The amen.
