Uh, could you introduce yourself and tell us what's your current job?

Uh, my name is Gary. I'm a government teacher serving in SMK DPH Gapo.

Okay. How long have you been doing this?

Uh, it's uh my 11th year. So, uh currently my my grade is uh we call it DG10 now.

Okay. Uh, are you doing this full-time or just part-time?

Uh, government work is usually full-time.

Oh. Uh, do you think your job is stable in the long run? So, are you worried about the thing changing? Uh, for example, the company closing down or you losing your job.

Uh, so far government job is quite stable and uh we are not afraid of losing job as long as you perform.

Okay. [laughter] Besides the basic pay, do things like EPF, Socso, or bonuses really make you feel more satisfied with your job?

In uh current government job, there are two two kinds of payout. One is EPF and another one is uh pension. So, I opt for pension, meaning to say after I pension, I will have uh monthly money income from the government.

Oh, okay. Uh, do you feel you need to keep learning new skills so you don't get left behind?

Uh, learning new skills is is uh important. Uh, whatever wherever we are, we will we will surely need new skills. Uh, in terms of uh in in my in my job is teaching. So, in teaching, we have to learn uh new skills for teaching like integrate the uh technology inside our teaching. Something like that.

Oh, okay. Uh, what are your biggest challenges in balancing work and personal life? How do you handle that? For example, do you still have to answer message or email after work? How do you make time for yourself?

Uh for our for our school.

Okay.

Uh so far our it it all depends on the uh management actually. If the management knows that the personal time is important, they won't disturb you after work time. Yes, but uh sometimes when it's very urgent, they need it, then they will they will WhatsApp or call you direct. Uh so you just make a little bit time to settle this. That's all.

Oh, okay. Are you worried that AI or robot may take over pass or your job one day or do you see AI as a help?

You mean AI take over the job? Uh you you can use AI to teach students, but uh there are certain things that you still need physical skills to teach uh to teach your students. For example, sports skill you cannot teach from AI.
