Today I'm going to show you guys how to reload for the best bonuses on your Aran weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds, and I will explain it the best that I can so that you can take advantage of this method.
First, you need to know that reinforcement bonuses are separated into two groups: raw and Elemental. Statuses do not have its own group, so it belongs to Elemental instead. The bonuses in these two groups are already predetermined even before you forge an Aran weapon, and every time you forge an Aran weapon, you will move to the next set of predetermined bonuses, but only within the same Rarity. Meaning you cannot make rarity six weapons in order to get a different bonus on a rarity eight weapon.
So here's a demonstration. I will save the game first before starting. And for this example, my goal is to make a Dragon Charge Blade with bonuses that I like. So first, I will forge an Arian Charge Blade with any element or status other than Dragon so that I will not use up my Dragon materials, and I will reinforce it to max level to check what bonuses I will be getting. If I'm happy with these bonuses, then I will return to the main menu without saving.
Once I get back, I will make a Dragon Charge Blade this time so that it will get those same bonuses as earlier, but on a different weapon. It's like transferring bonuses to another weapon, but this only works on weapons that has not been made yet.
Now, if you don't like the bonuses that you get, dismantle that weapon so that you can get your reinforcement materials back. Then make sure to save the game once again and keep forging with the same damage type until you get the bonuses that you want. Since reinforcement bonuses are random, this could take some time depending on what you want. And because you need to actually craft an Aran weapon in order to get the next set of bonuses, you might need to farm quite a bit of weapon fragments before you get what you want.
But the good thing is you can use up all the junk fragments before actually using the ones that you need for your weapon of choice. That means you will save time because you don't have to farm for the same kind of weapon fragments over and over again. Raw weapons have it a little bit easier because you can just combine three different elements to make it raw.
Now, if you have a lot of reinforcement materials, you can make multiple weapons in a row before dismantling them. It's the same rule if you are looking for a specific bonus on a status or Elemental weapon. Keep making either status and Elemental Aran weapons, then fully reinforce them to view their bonuses. And if you want to see raw reinforcement bonuses, keep making and reinforcing raw Aran weapons.
If you found the bonuses you want to keep, save. For example, you made five weapons and you want to keep the bonuses on the third weapon. Reload the game and forge two junk weapons before forging the weapon you're going to keep on the third one. The first two junk can either be raw or Elemental, it does not matter because even though raw and Elemental bonuses are separate, the bonuses for both groups will change together every time you make any Arian weapon.
And as of now, there is no other way to change the reinforcement bonuses other than forging an Aion weapon. It's the same system that they use for armor augmentation and Sunbreak, so I don't think the Aran weapon bonus system will change in the future. I know this whole process can be a little bit confusing, but as long as you know when to save and reload, then you should be okay.
