Why do Arsenal rattle everyone? Real talk, the rival fans, I've never seen so much crying. We're nine games in. Arsenal are scoring from set pieces. Arsenal are keeping clean sheets. Arsenal have the best defensive record. We have the best defense in Europe. And we've only conceded one shot on target the whole of October. Yet, it's still not good enough. Yakare scores two against Atletico Madrid. Arsenal were looking scary. Then Yarus doesn't score and he's a flop again. We go to set piece goal and it's set pieces otherwise we can't score yet. We score goals in open play against Athletic Madrid and we're scary. Then a few days later it's another set piece goal which actually has come off the back and fallen to which is a brilliant strike from but that's not mentioned because it's a set piece goal. It's as if set piece goals don't count, aren't they? Part of football.
I don't want to be scoring set pieces every week. Let me make that clear. I do believe that Arsenal need to concentrate more on their attacking fur, but it seems from rival fans that people just can't hack this. Yet, when you look around, Spurs have scored from set pieces. Chelsea have scored, I think, the most set piece goals alongside Arsenal this season. Not to mention for either of those. Why? Because they're not doing well enough this season to be worried about them. When a team does well, they never want to give them credit. They never want to say, "Wow, they look good right now." They never want to say, "This is the team that I think needs to be beat right now." And that could change, by the way. It doesn't mean they're going to win everything. Doesn't mean Arsenal were going to go walk the league. It doesn't mean Arsenal were going to go and take next level in terms of our performances. But it just seems like people are crying about it. And the nitpicking is crazy. And this is coming from me, by the way. Somebody who I believe has high standards for Arsenal football club. Somebody I believe needs to be convinced still that Michela can get across the line. Somebody who I think has been fairly honest and justifiable so in saying that Mikeeta is fairly quite lucky to still be the Arsenal managers to some people's eyes. But when you look at what people are doing right now is actually scary. It is like an illness. It is talking about Arsenal is like talking about Stoke. Well, Stoke didn't go top of the league by doing long throws and set pieces, did they? That was a part of their games trying to keep them up. It's a massive difference.
Now, people can banter, and I'm sure it is banner about the style of play. They can banter about trying to get set pieces. But actually, what is more embarrassing in my opinion is that 19 teams haven't worked out how to stop Arsenal yet. That's more embarrassing because if I'm conceding goals the way that everyone else is against us, I'm looking at corners thinking, why is nobody double teaming Gabrielle? Why is nobody making it difficult for that ball to get and land towards him? Why is nobody looking at free kicks and corners and setting up in a way that makes it difficult for Arsenal? How are we schooling all 19 teams still? Because we haven't just started doing this. This has been happening for the last 18 to 24 months with Arsenal Football Club. So, let's not try and make out like Arsenal now have just decided that they're now only going to score set pieces because it's been part of our game. Now, there has been times and certain games we've won 1 nil where actually we've relied on that to win us the game and give us three points. Actually, isn't that something you should be crediting as part of our game that we work on set pieces in training that Nicholas Yo deserves credit that he's done one-to-one training with them that everybody knows their position offensively and defensively from set pieces. That's something I've praised Arsenal for. Now I say it again. We do need to improve in the final third and I think that we will when Yokarez keeps firing, Saka improves, Martinelli and Trussard find their feet and Madawke comes back. We've still got Havz and Jesus and Erdigard that are on the injury table at the moment that will be coming back in the coming weeks. That will improve our attack and that will allow us to score more goals. But right now I'm hearing a lot of crying from the rival fans.
And then let's not forget the media who have been a massive massive question over if they actually do hate on Arsenal. A lot of Arsenal fans will say the media hate us, the referees hate us, everybody hates Arsenal. And you know what? I think there is an element of that that's true. I do think there's a section of our fan base that are genuinely hated because they're insufferable. I think there's a section of every fan base that is insufferable on social media or on YouTube or on content. I look at the mainstream media and I listen to Jamie O'Hara crying about Arsenal winning. I listen to Jamie Carrager visibly scared and worried about what Arsenal doing, highlighting Gabrielle as potentially being Arsenal's player of the season, a secret weapon. I listen to Jeff Stellin telling everybody on Talk Sport that Arsenal were boring and that this is not the way to win the Premier League. Who cares? I grew up on George Graham football. We used to win 1 nil and 2-1 all the time. We had a backline that was seen and considered the best in Europe. David Seaman being a part of that. Kon, Bold, um, Adams, Dixon, Winterburn. People never got to see them. Some people weren't able to be old enough to go back in history and see what they've done, but I haven't been old enough to witness it live. But for me, when I look at what that was, I grew up on a defense that was solid. Arson Wenger inherited that. I would have won a double with that back five. I don't really think that we can look at a team that is defensively good and call it boring and start slating it. For me, everybody says build the foundation, get the defense right, and then look to build on what's next. And I don't understand why the media are hating on that so much because how many times are we talking about long throws? Arsenal aren't really doing long throws. We're doing set pieces and we do have Califury and Timber that are throwing the ball longer. Let's be real. We did it against PSG with Thomas Parte. That was the first time we've done long throws properly. But now everyone else is doing long throws and people are saying, "Ah, not sure I like that." Why? If you can score from a long throw, why the hell would you not do it? Is it a spectator point of view? Is it entertaining and exciting? Not really. But it's been a part of the game for a while. Rory Dap was famous for a long throwing for Stoke. Now that Michael Coyote is doing it over at Brenford, it's being poo pooed. I don't get it. It's part of the game. Do I want to watch every week balls being lumped into boxes, long throws and corners going in the only way you score? Absolutely not. But I don't think we've got to that stage yet. I think what people are now looking at is they're looking at Arsenal. They're looking at other people that are doing it and they're trying to implement it themselves. I don't think that's a bad thing. I think it's just something that has to happen to be able to score different types of goals.
Jeremy O'Hara is the typical example of someone who's crying about Arsenal because he's worried that Arsenal might go and win something. Now, I don't know why they're devastatingly worried because in the last few years, Arsenal have looked pretty good and we've fallen at the final hurdle. But now all of a sudden, I'm hearing it louder. Why? Because they're seriously worried that the teams around Arsenal right now are dropping points and Arsenal are going to lift silverware and they believe it's going to be insufferable by those select few that are going to be horrendous on social media. And let me be real with you people. Arsenal win the Champions League, the Premier League or both, the streets aren't ready. 21 years in waiting, never won a Premier a Champions League before, the streets aren't ready. Trust me. So, if we do lift silverware, it will be insufferable for certain individuals. So, I understand why rival fans are worried, but the crying and the excuses I'm hearing, Arsenal top, yeah, but it's only set pieces. Arsenal top, yeah, but Yakaras is still failing. Well, do you know what? Jokes, I haven't been 100% convinced. No, but he's got five goals in 12 games. Which means that in those 12 or it might be 13 games now that he scored those five goals. I'm looking at everybody else thinking, well, they must be getting 10, 12, maybe 13 goals then. And there's only Harland doing that. BTA Eat, you could say out the new signings might even look a little bit better. Cesco, does he look better than Jock? Apparently so. Well, why has he not scored as many goals as him then? I do not know how you can slate a striker who's scoring. If he hasn't scored for 13 games, I'll be the first one to hold my hands up and go, "Wow, I can't be hypocritical." Hbert's went nine, 10 games without a goal. I need to now look at Victor Yurus and say, "Why aren't you scoring? Is it assistant thing? Is it an individual bit of quality that's lacking?" And we can have that conversation at Christmas if we've not seen massive improvements. But right now, Ars were doing their thing and a lot of people are hating on it. Jamie Carrager, he's genuinely scared about what Arsenal might do because Liverpool are looking bad right now. Manchester City without Harland don't look the same team. Chelsea are inconsistent. Spurs don't have the squad to go for a title in my opinion. Neither does Bournemouth, Sunderland or Palace or the other teams that are floating around that. I don't believe right now anyone has got Arsenal not winning the league. And that scares genuinely scares the media and rival fans because there is a massive social media presence. There is a huge online fan base when it comes to Arsenal. YouTube channels, content creators, social media, Twitter lovers, everybody on Tik Tok, Arsenal and Manchester United are the two biggest clubs when it comes to social media. And Arsenal when it comes to that, if you're talking content, Arsenal are Champions League elite level. Now, I'm not putting that in my trophy cabinet before people starts laughing. However, it's just fact. What we need to do now is allow the fans to get together to celebrate doing that in May. And that will absolutely wind up rival fans, Chelsea fans, Spurs fans, United fans, Liverpool fans, City fans, West Ham fans, even Palace fans, and all the London clubs that hate on Arsenal. Anybody watching this right now says that sounds like me, I'm talking to you. You will be wound up if we win this league. you will be not to be able to leave your house without somebody giving it to you. You will not be able to go on social media without someone rubbing in your face that Arsenal won the league and people cannot handle that and the media can't either. Look at the state of Jason Kundi and Jamie O'Hara the other night when Arsenal beat Atletico Madrid. They're both literally crying into their beer about oh my god Arsenal might do it this season. How are we going to cope? You're going to have to if that happens. You're going to have to find a way. You're just going to have to. Gary Neville to be fair to him. Roy Keane, Ian Wright on all the overlap stick to football. They've all said they think Arsenal can do it this season. Jamie Carragher believes Arsenal can do it really, but he doesn't want to accept that because Liverpool are his team. And I get why I wouldn't want to accept Tottenham winning something. But when you have to sit there and say what a team, you have to hold your hands up. And I did that on the PCH. I said they're a good side right now. I think they'll go and win something. They never did, but I thought they could have. With Arsenal, the fans are literally crying. Rival fans aside, my god, I've never seen anything like it. When it comes to Arsenal, I see everybody saying, "We're scary. We're gonna win this. Oh my god. Oh, what happens? Oh, it's like really?" I don't see this when Man City were winning the league. I don't see this with Liverpool when they won last season. Were they scary? Like Arsenal being scary means we're going to go and smash every single trophy. Manchester City have been scary for 10 years. Chelsea were scary under Roman. Liverpool and the club. That's what was scary because they were going trophy, trophy, trophy. Arsenal haven't been scary for the last five years. Arsenal have been building. Arsal been in transition. Arsal been trying to get to the top. They're competing. Can they get across the line?
