Hey everyone, it's Dave here, the keenness. Now, you might be wondering, why is the guy that remixes cats and dogs for a living not making one of these videos? Why is he talking about the death of Charlie Kirk?
Well, I wanted to make this video because, you know, you might look at me and say, "This guy's got nothing to do with Charlie Kirk." But I'm here to say that, you know, someone like Charlie Kirk and myself have far more in common than you might think. We're both white males. We're both Christian. We're both husbands. We're both fathers. And most importantly, I believe that Charlie was a very moderate person in his beliefs. Center right. Um, I believe that I'm moderate myself. Center left, center right on some things. And what I saw last night truly shook me to my core. I couldn't sleep last night at all. And it struck me that, you know, this world is very sick. Charlie was a good person despite what some of you might have seen in the media or what some politicians might have said about him. Essentially, he wanted to just go around university campuses and talk to people, share ideas, agree to disagree, debate, basically just talk. And he was killed because of that.
Um, you know, I might not show a lot of this in the stuff that I make. Uh, a lot of you probably don't know much about me, but before I started making these videos, I made a lot of satirical videos about, you know, the crazy decisions that politicians made in this country, South Africa, especially during the COVID lockdown. And you could say that what I what I was saying or how I was poking fun at these people was fairly moderate and you know rational. The decisions they making really were crazy bonkers. And I tried to use satire and parody music as a tool to kind of just highlight, you know, the stupidity of what was going on in this country. And you will not believe the amounts of hate and vitriol that was spewed at me from all corners, from the media, from politicians to, you know, trolls on the internet. Uh it it got to a point where it just was not fun anymore. And I decided to take a step back from that because, you know, my life was in danger. I take my hat off to Charlie Kirk because, you know, I believe he he received the same treatment for essentially spreading what I think are very moderate ideas. And again, the media might tell you something different, but I implore you that if you've got a bad view of Charlie Kirk, do not listen to what the media is telling you and rather go to the source material. Go to the videos where he's debating with college students and find out for yourself. Even if you disagree with what he says, he always debated with uh compassion and respect for the person that he was talking to. And the way that he died was completely undeserved and violent. It's it blows my mind, you know, uh how someone thinks that they can rob two beautiful children of their father, a wife, of their husband just for sharing his views. It really does blow my mind and it makes me very upset about the state of the world.
I really do hope that this is a turning point. As a Christian, I believe, you know, God is able to take tragedy and turn it into something good. And the silver lining in all of this is that there's, you know, just a plethora of what I believe is truth that Charlie was speaking, the gospel truth. Um, and I believe now that that holds far more weight and value today than it would if he was still with us on this earth. So, Charlie became a martyr unfortunately. Uh, his wife and his children are going to have to grow up his children have to are going to have to grow up without their dad. And as a father myself, that is just something I cannot imagine. I would never want that for my son or any other children that I may have in the future. It it really does break my heart.
So what is the point of this? Well, I just hope that we can learn from this and start to take Charlie's example, speak to each other. Because in Charlie's own words, if we do not speak to each other, we are going to radicalize ourselves. We're not going to see eye to eye, and that is going to lead to violence and civil war. So, no matter what your differences are with other people, don't shut them off. Speak to them. I implore you, I pray that this is the way the world is going to go because the way it's going currently, there will be civil war and there will be a lot of suffering just because we share different views. We we we all have far more in common than what divides us.

>> There's more people that agree with me than some people would actually believe and they come out of the woodwork when I do stuff like this. We record all of it so that we put on the internet so people can see these ideas collide. When people stop talking, that's when you get violence. That's when civil war happens because you start to think the other side is so evil and they lose their humanity.
