I think it's really important to think about as well when you're using waterfed pole is the different types of jets that you are using. Now the really nice thing about a lot of the gardener brushes is they come with these jets which are interchangeable. So, they just pop out like so. And you can change them depending on what your preferences.
Now, they're colorcoded so that you can easily tell the different types. These are 1.4 mm jets, the finest jet available. Uh, so they're the blue ones. Now, what that means is you get a nice strong pencil jet, but you can actually reduce the flow that's coming from your water tank. So, if you reduce the flow on your controller, you can still get a nice strong jet with this 1.4 mm pencil jet. On certain types of glass, I find that's really good and that helped me save that little bit extra water throughout the day.
So, don't underestimate the difference that just adjusting your controller can make to the amount of water that you'll actually save throughout the day. Because if you've got less water pumping through to the jets, you're doing the cleaning work using a lesser amount of water. Of course, you've got to get a balance because you want to use enough water to do the job to do the job at a good pace. Um, but obviously you don't want to use more water than you have to, especially if you are perhaps on a limited supply.
So the most common size I would say that most waterfed pole brushes come with is a 2 mm jet. This brush has a 2 mm pencil jet and that's the most common size that a lot of brushes come with. So by reducing it to a 1.4 4 mm pencil jet, you can just reduce the flow on your controller and you'll actually find that you'll use less water as long as the glass is quite hydrophilic, which means that you'll get a nice flow. You'll get a nice rinse still on the glass.
This option here is some larger pencil jets. I think these ones are 4 mm. So, you can see the difference there. the hole is very much larger. So that will give you a much greater flow and you'll end up using a lot more water. If the glass is very hydrophobic and is slightly resistant to the water, you might find that a fan jet works better or maybe even a rinse bar, but you'll probably find that you end up using more water in those situations. It might help you clean more quickly, which actually might end up helping you save water. So, it's just trying to get all those things in balance.
So, these are fan jets. So, hopefully that helps you understand some of the options that are out there to help you save a bit of water.
