Thank you. You're all right. Now, in this initial part, I'd like to ask you some questions about yourself. What hobbies do you enjoy the most?
So there are a lot of hobbies that I enjoy, but the hobby that I enjoy the most is reading books. I mostly like to read mystery thriller—like psychological thrillers—books like these. Um, and I think when I read books, I get to delve into that world, in that realm, and I enjoy reading books during my free time.
All right. How did you develop an interest in these hobbies?
I developed an interest at a very early age. So when I was little, my—I was always surrounded by books. We have a really huge library at home, with around 2,000 books almost. We have a full room dedicated to books; we have a little library, and I was always given that space to explore what books I liked to read. And through that exploration, through that curiosity, I developed an interest for reading books.
All right. Do you think your hobbies have influenced other areas of your life, and if so, how?
I definitely think reading books have influenced parts of my life because it has influenced and increased my creativity skills and imagination skills, and I've used this in various aspects of my life. For example, in school, a lot of my work is heavily relied on my creative thinking skills, and I use my imagination skills from reading books in this academic sector. I also have to use creativity skills in various platforms that I speak in because they require me to come up with innovative solutions and ideas, and I usually acquire or get these ideas from the books that I read.
Excellent. Are there any hobbies you would like to take up in the future?
There are a lot of hobbies that I would like to explore in the future, one of them being coding, because I def—I know how to do a bit—a little bit of coding or IT development, but I definitely want to increase that and, um, see how I can explore that field in the future.

Okay. So an award that I received is called the Human Rights Hero Award 2023. So I received this last year from the United Nations for my work and my advocacy on human rights. And I tend to speak at different conferences, and I try to advocate for human rights and how various people around the world are—are being stripped of their human rights due to various factors. For example, we can say wars, or they're being displaced by climate change, etc. Because of these reasons, their human rights are being stripped, and so I try to advocate about this—about this issue—at various conferences. Um, this award was significant to me because it showed me that people actually—that there are very—a lot of people that appreciate my work and that they recognize my potential; they recognize how much I try to advocate for people around the world. And this has impacted my personal life and professional life both. It's impacted my personal life because it has given me this confidence to continue my advocacy; it's given me a—a—um, we can say enthusiasm—or a purpose—to continue my advocacy, and it has given me—has given me insights into why I should continue my advocacy, and it has also increased my self-esteem. It's impacted my professional life because from a very early age I knew that I wanted to work for humanity, but this has reestablished that ground; it's given me a solid foundation and given me a purpose of why I should work for human rights. This award has also shown me that, um, because of my work for human rights and because of my advocacy, I have been recognized, and so it's kind of given me that reason to keep on going—keep my advocacy going. So I definitely believe this award has impacted both my personal and professional life, um, and yeah, that's how overall this award was significant to me.

We'll delve into the importance of global platforms and advocacy. So first of all, in what ways can hobbies and extracurricular activities contribute to professional success?
Okay. So I believe that in many ways hobbies and extracurricular activities can contribute to both academic and professional success. I'll give an example. Let's say someone is really interested in art; that is their hobby, right? And if they take up a profession in art—let's say they become an artist—then that is a way of blending and incorporating their hobbies and their passions into professional success. At the same time, we know that it's your experience that builds up your professional life or the interest that you have in your professional life. So let's say someone takes up an extracurricular such as sports. I have a lot of friends that are really interested in football, and, um, they're—as part of their extracurriculars—they play football. So in the future, they might want—they might consider, uh, taking up a profession of playing football or such sports like this. So hobbies and extracurricular activities can actually influence your future and what profession you want to—take up. It can also influence your experience in that profession. So if you have prior experience to a certain field, it can elevate or, um, increase the performance that you have in that certain profession or in that career.
All right. How do you think recognition in one's personal life can impact their confidence in pursuing larger goals?
It definitely is important to recognize one person's achievements and accomplishments and give them that confidence and boost to continue their work or whatever they're doing. But at the same time, it is important that that person remembers their values and their roots because if someone has too much self-confidence, then they might get derailed, or they might not be in the certain—or stick to the certain—or a correct path. So it's important that you remember your values and your roots, and you remember the foundation that has built you. And through the—a constant reminder of these values—um, and roots—uh, someone can—a person can become very successful in their future and stick to the right path at the same time. So it is important to have confidence, but overconfidence is never good.
Excellent. Do you believe awards and achievements always reflect a person's true abilities? Why or why not?
I don't think awards or accomplishments reflect a person's true abilities because there are a lot of people in this world, for example, that have done a lot of good things; they've contributed to—to society—in many ways. However, because they're not vocal about it—because they haven't correctly expressed that in, let's say, social media or in their community—they're not getting that recognition, right? So because they—they're not getting that recognition, they're not like getting these, um, awards either. So even though they have contributed to society in many ways, they're not, you know, getting this recognition. There are a lot of people, on the other hand, that haven't really contributed that much, but due to certain factors, such as we can say wealth or status, they're being overestimated or over-recognized, um, and over-appreciated. And because of this, you know, they—they may get a lot of awards and recognition, but they haven't really contributed to society in many ways. There are a lot of people again, uh, who have contributed to society, but they have also gotten like the amount of recognition that they deserve, right? So there are a lot of people in this world that—maybe—really depends on, um, how much vocal they are about their advocacy. So the amount of awards or recognitions doesn't really reflect a person's true—or true capabilities.
Okay. How can young people balance pursuing hobbies with academic or career responsibilities?
Like I said, I think it is important to blend your hobbies and your, uh, personal professional goals. Like I said, like I gave an example of an artist: if you're interested in art, pursue a career in art; become an artist. If you're interested in gaming, then make a game or develop a game. Or what I'm trying to say is blend your hobbies or your passions with whatever you want to do in the future or whatever your career is because then you will truly be able to enjoy your work—enjoy the work that you're doing—and at the same time you'll be able to bring your hobbies. So you have a perfect balance; you're not giving up your hobbies for any work that you're doing, rather you're blending your hobbies with your work time, um, and making that experience very fruitful and making—and having a lot of enjoyment.
All right. What role does self-reflection play in improving oneself after receiving recognition or feedback?
I think it is important to incorporate the feedback that you receive in your work because if you incorporate that feedback, you'll be elevate—you'll be able to elevate your experience, elevate your performance, and through that incorporation you'll also be able to make progress. So it is important to also reflect on that feedback, reflect on the recognition, and also think about how your morals and ethics align with these because, like I mentioned in the previous questions, um, it is important to constantly remind yourself of your values and roots. So constantly thinking about these morals and ethics instilled in you is also a type of self-reflection, I guess, and incorporating that along with the feedback can help someone to elevate or increase their potential—increase—and make their progress much more better.
