The other day, I found a study on chronic inflammation and pain that completely blew my mind. In it, the researchers were able to cut one inflammation marker in half in just 90 days. And pain scores improved across the board as early as in the first week. And all they used was a natural extract that has been used as a traditional remedy for hundreds of years. Pretty crazy stuff that I wanted to share with you.

So, here's the study. And the extract that they tested is called Bosellia Seratada which has a compound called AKBA. They used it in people with chronic knee pain related to osteoarthritis. They recruited men and women between 40 and 80 years old who had been living with this condition for at least 3 months. And the volunteers had to stop their normal pain medication before the trial began.

They were then randomly divided into three groups. One group got a placebo. The second group got 100 mg of five lockin per day which is a patent form of the extract that has a known content of AKBH which was then split into two 50 mg capsules and the third group got 250 mg of flloxxen per day which was split into two 125 mg capsules. So they basically had one placebo group, one low and one highdose group and again the trial lasted 90 days.

The researchers then measured pain and joint function using several standardized scores. And what's even more interesting is that they also measured levels of an enzyme called MMP3 in the fluid inside the knee joint. MMP3 is a marker of inflammation and cartilage breakdown.

By the end of the 90 days, both doses of the five locks led to big improvements compared to the placebo group. Pain scores went down, stiffness improved, and the patients could move their knees a lot easier. But the most extreme result was the drop in MMP3. So the inflammatory marker, the lowd dose group had a 31% reduction and the highdosese group had a 46% reduction. That's nearly half of this inflammation enzyme gone in just 3 months.

Obviously this came with a significant drop in pain. For example, the high dose group saw as much as a 65% drop in their pain scores. Also, the improvements started very fast. After just 7 days, the highdose group already had about 12% reduction in pain scores and a noticeable improvement in joint function.

To quote the study, "five locks reduces pain and improves physical functioning significantly in osteoarthritis patients and it is safe for human consumption." They also noted that these findings therefore indicate that five locks confers prompt and significant pain relief and improvement in physical ability in osteoarthritis patients. Existing information reveals that glucosamine usually takes 6 weeks to achieve significant beneficial effect in terms of pain relief. If you don't know what glucosamine is, it's another supplement that is often used for joint problems. So, this just shows how fast Brielia really worked.

I also quickly want to go over the exact biochemical pathway that it affects. So, Bosvia serata is a tree native to India and also parts of the Middle East. The resin that seeps from its bark has been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine and the active compounds in it are called boselic acids. The most important of which we already talked about. So, AKBA it targets a key inflammatory enzyme called five lipoxygenates. This enzyme helps produce molecules that drive inflammation, especially in chronic joint issues, asthma, and inflammatory bowel disease. By inhibiting this enzyme, AKBA helps calm the inflammatory cascade at its very source.

On top of that, bosia also appears to lower levels of other inflammatory molecules like TNF alpha and IL1 beta. This combination makes it different from normal painkillers because instead of just blocking the pain signals, it helps improve the deeper inflammatory pathways that damage tissue over time. And the trial that I just showed you isn't the only evidence that we have. Other osteoarthritis studies also found significant reductions in knee pain and also swelling, some as early as 5 days. And research on gut function also showed an antioxidant effect on the intestinal line. So it doesn't just work in joints. All these findings really point to Boseia's role as a natural anti-inflammatory that works in the whole body and also in many different regions.

If you want to try it out yourself, here's what the research suggests in terms of dosing. If you take fiveen, so the patented version, then 250 milligs per day seems to get the best results. Again, split into two doses. For normal supplements, which often aren't enriched in AKBA, then typical doses will range from 300 to 500 mg 2 to three times per day. So, you will need quite a bit more because the AKBA content can vary widely. This is also why you should check the label for the content. So, fllockxen has 30% but standard supplements usually have a lot less, so maybe 2 to 10%.

Also know that Bosellia can be taken with or without food, but some people find it easier on the stomach when they take it with a meal. Because it works on inflammation instead of acting as an immediate painkiller. Consistency matters more than timing. So definitely take it daily. And for some people, the effects take a little longer to kick in. In terms of side effects, it is usually very well tolerated. Some studies report stomach upset or skin itching, but these were no more common than in the placebo group. Of course, if you're taking a specific medication already, definitely talk to your doctor about this.

Again, the most important thing is really to look for a quality product that has a specified AKBA content. And if you want to mirror the studies, then you will need something in the range of 20 to 30%. What this data is showing is that even though Boselia has been around for thousands of years as a traditional remedy, modern science is only now catching up to it. And this is great news for anyone with chronic inflammation.
