Brand new updates from OpenAI and Chat GPT, and I'm going to be running you through all of them. So, if you're not familiar with what's going on right now, basically OpenAI did that Dev Day just a few hours ago, and they made a bunch of announcements. So, you can see the Dev Day details right here.
So, Sam Altman was doing a keynote and basically, I've said it was the best time in history to be a builder. We introduce today the next generation of tools and models to help developers code faster, build agents more reliably, and scale their apps inside Chat GPT.
All right, so I'm going to be covering the most important updates, including apps inside Chat GPT. That's a brand new update. We've got Agent Kit. We have Sora 2 in the API. So you can actually now build video apps using Sora 2, which most people don't even have access to directly inside the app. And then additionally, we have new updates on Codec, GPT-5 Pro in the API, GPT Realtime Mini, and additionally GPT Image 1 Mini as well. Basically, that's like a smaller model of GPT that's 80% less expensive.
All right, let's run through, first of all, the new apps update. So, basically, we said, "Introducing Apps in Chat GPT and the new Apps SDK." So, basically, these are like a new kind of way that you can communicate with apps directly inside OpenAI and Chat GPT. So, if you're not familiar with this, and it is brand new. So, if you go inside Chat GPT, for example, you can actually communicate directly with the app, and then you can leverage that to start using it.
All right. So, if we go inside here and we say, "Okay, booking.com," you can actually tag the app, right? So you can tag the app like, and then you can speak directly to it. So, let's have a look at an example right here. So, you say, "Use Spotify for this example." All right. So, if you type in booking.com, it comes up with the app, like you can see, and then you can say, "Okay, diagram this," or "Do this," etc., right? Let's try that out. So, you can actually use apps to automate a lot, and you can chat directly with them, which is pretty cool as well. So, you could even, for example, come up with playlists directly from Spotify inside there.
So, you can see, "Okay, use Spotify for this answer," and then it will actually create a custom playlist for you inside Spotify using the app. And the app basically talks to you, right? You can speak directly to it. Same for, for example, hotels and stuff like that. So, pretty cool feature right there, and you can even develop it as well. So, you can actually develop this as well.
And it says, "Apps will be available today to all logged-in Chat GPT users outside of the EU on free, Go, and Plus plans." So, this is a free update. Anyone can get access directly, and the way that you do it is just inside Chat GPT directly. Yeah, you can also start building and testing stuff. So, they're actually releasing the Apps SDK preview on their MCP server, like you can see. And you can use inside here by just saying, like, when you start a message to Chat GPT with a name and available app, like, for example, Spotify, then it can automatically surface the app in your chat and use relevant context to help.
All right, the first time you use an app, Chat GPT will prompt you to connect it. I'm just going to test this out. So, let's actually try this right here. Say, so we can select the app here, let's see if this works, and then you can click, "Use Spotify for this answer." So, you can see, like, that we've selected there, and then it's connecting to the app. So, if we click on that, you can see it's now selecting the app, and then you can connect directly to Spotify here. So, we're going to click on continue, share our data of the app, continue to Spotify, agree. All right, so you can see this actually connecting to the app the first time we use it. And then it says, "Spotify is now connected." And there we go. And it says, "Spotify put together," I'm just going to mute that in case it plays on the live stream. "Spotify put together a playlist for you called Confident Night Mix. It's built around the mood you described." All right. And then it's given us a bunch of ideas for our app, for our playlist, based on what I typically like to listen to, which is pretty cool. You can actually open it up in Spotify as well. So, we've automated that playlist here. And now you can see we can just go straight to that playlist. That's pretty cool. That was super easy as well to use. So, that's a really cool update that we've got here.
It says as well, "Chat GPT can also suggest apps when they're relevant to the conversation." So, for example, if you're talking about buying a new home, Chat GPT can surface the Zillow app as a suggestion. So, basically, if you're inside here and you're doing something that requires, like, a specific use case, you can actually use Chat GPT, and it will come up with auto-suggests directly right there. Pretty cool.
This is the magic of this new generation of apps and Chat GPT is how they blend familiar interactive elements like maps, playlists, and presentations. And then you can start with an outline and ask Canva to transform it into a slide deck. Let's try that. All right. So, then what I'm going to do, we'll select Canva here and say, "Turn this into a slide deck." See if that works. It says, "Got it. I've turned your Spotify playlist into a clean slide deck on Canva." We'll download that. That doesn't look particularly good to me. But, yeah, you can turn it into a slide deck apparently. That doesn't seem to work so well from what I've seen. Let's have a look on the video. Just see if they've done it on there. So, we got maps as well. Ah, see, "Use Canva." Okay, let's try that. Not Canva. It's too early in the morning, people. All right, we'll select Canva here and then we'll say, "Right, okay, turn this into a slide deck. Use Canva for the answer." All right, so Chat GPT wants to connect to Canva. Let's click on continue, allow. And now we're connected. In the meantime, whilst we're waiting for that to load, because it does seem a little bit buggy. Look at that. Like, it's taking its time. So, on the demo, it looks really smooth, but obviously, this is a new feature, so it's not as smooth as I'd like it to be, honestly.
Well, what I've actually done is I've actually summarized the OpenAI Dev Day inside the Money Lab. So, if you go to AI Money Lab Classroom, new AI Automations, there's a ridiculous amount of training on the left-hand side. Like, you can see if you scroll down, you can see the resources. Plus, what I've actually done is summarized the whole updates from today. Everything that we've done. And additionally, we have inside there 50 different use cases for using the Dev Day announcements. Right? So, if you want to know, "Right, okay, how do I use this for my business? How do I make it practical?" etc. Actually, I have 50 use cases inside the OpenAI Dev Day update, which you can see right here. This should just help you figure out, "Okay, how can we use this? How can we make it practical?" etc.
All right, so let's go back to here now, and you can see it's created a pretty nice presentation. It says, "Here are several presentation options generated." So, we got like this style. This is really cool. This kind of reminds me of like Gen Spark, but a bit nicer. So, you can see here. And then, "Okay, let's say, uh, yeah." So, it's created like five different options. Look at that. One, two, three, four. Okay. Let's click on that one. Then what we're going to do is click on "Open in Canva." Is that actually just automated a presentation in Canva? That's pretty cool. Look at that. Obviously, you wouldn't do it for a playlist, but that just gives you an idea of what you can do and how it works. Really cool.
What else can we do with this? Let's have a look and skip through this video. So, you can use Expedia to find apps to find, like, flights and stuff. Booking.com. I don't know if you can actually book directly inside there, but it's really cool. You can see how this is going to evolve, right? So, basically, you can use AI to speak directly to apps that basically acts as like a personal assistant, and then it's send an email here, or set up this Spotify playlist. Like, for me, I actually use Spotify quite a lot. I actually use Chat GPT a lot for coming up with music ideas. So, what I could actually do is go inside here. So, "Give me a workout playlist at the gym today in using Spotify app." Then I think it will suggest. There you go. So, automatically now that it's set up, it will use Spotify to come up with that. Wait for that to load. "High energy gym mix." And then it even personalizes it to me and my lifestyle. Right. So, if you have a look here, it's right, "If you want, I can refine it further for your exact mood. For example, like a Muay Thai focus playlist with aggressive beats." And then you've got this playlist here that's fully personalized to me. Now, if you go on "Open in Spotify," we have that playlist ready to go. Like, you can see some of these songs actually have on my liked list. You can see here, like, this is stuff I've already liked inside my playlist. So, it's fully personalized, which is really cool. And it links directly to Spotify. Seamless. Nice.
All right, let's try something else now. So, I'm going to say, "Okay, tell me about," and this is like an actual use case. So, I'm going to say, "Right, okay, tell me about the latest Google update, Google Spam Update." And then what we're going to do is research this topic using Chat GPT and Chat GPT search. And then we're going to put that into your presentation inside Canva. And that should be like something client-ready that you can actually just put out to clients, right? So, you can see here, for example, it's done the research, which is nothing special, right? That's pretty standard, I think, at this point. I think everyone watching this knows how to do that. But then using the new feature from Dev Day, which is brand new, we should be able to create a presentation and a nice PDF based on that.
All right. So, let's wait for that to load. And you can see here it's actually personalized the research to me. So, for example, we have an SEO agency and a link-building agency. And you can see here that it's recommending and giving me actual features of what this means for me. Right? So, that's the benefit of using this directly inside Chat GPT is you're using the power of the LLM, right? You're automating the research, then you are taking all the information and personalizing it to you and your business use case. And then what you can do is design that inside Canva.
So, if we say, "Okay, use Canva to turn this into a beautiful presentation. Include contact details for me, slash my agency, the agency, right? Me, julian@goldie.com." Let's see if it can actually do that. So, it's connecting to the app here. I love, like, the fact that you can just basically use the power of APIs and the power of coding without having to actually be able to code, right? Or understand what's going on here. The other cool thing is this. I've used tools like Lindy before, Lindy AI Agent, and stuff like that, and they're pretty cool, but I think this is simpler and easier. And also, people already have the habit of using Chat GPT, right? So, if you already use Chat GPT every day, switching to another platform, there's a lot of friction. And also, typically, you have to pay for these platforms, whereas, for example, this, it's wiped out tools like Lindy straight away because you have this AI agent that's connected to loads of different apps inside the interface, and it's completely no-code. Plus, it's pretty seamless, right?
So, you can see here it's designing the presentations, and you've basically replaced a designer and a researcher and a search engine in one single process. It's so easy to do. Now, whilst we're waiting for that to load, we're going to have this. We already took a look at that. They also did a really good thread here where they basically summarized everything that they shipped. So, for example, you can see the Chat GPT Apps update. I would say that is the biggest and most useful update for 80% of people watching this. Top of that, you can also start building and testing apps in Chat GPT with the Apps SDK preview, right? So, you can actually start using this to develop stuff. So, if we go in here, we can design apps for Chat GPT. So, basically, if you have an app that you want to push inside Chat GPT, you can actually accept. They're actually beginning to accept app submissions later this year for publication, right?
So, if we go back to Chat now, look at that. Boom. Boom. Shaka laka, my friends. Boom. Shaka laka. So, these designs are pretty nice, right? I don't want to mess around with Canva, or I don't want to really hire a designer and have someone else to manage, to be honest with you. And then we can click on this one. Boom. We've got the details of the presentation right here. We've got the details of me at julian@goldie.com. Obviously, you need to change the website URL and phone number. So, you can actually ask Canva inside here. Yeah, but basically, you've got the full details of the update. So, we automated the research, the presentation, the text, the design, personalized it to us, sent that straight to Canva, and then we can actually open that up in Canva and just edit it directly. So, it's like a really powerful design tool, um, that's fully personalized to us. The design is pretty nice, right? It's created like these really nice custom images. Like, you can see. I don't, you just got to be careful with some stuff. I'm not going to say it's 100% perfect. So, for example, if you look at this, okay, it's great. You can edit the text, you can change stuff, you can type stuff in, whatever, right? However, what you can see here is the text on the images is not great. So, for example, if we have a look and you really go in-depth there, if we zoom in, it's a little bit nonsensical, too. So, you got to be careful with this stuff when you check the details, you know, when you quality control it. If you put that in front of a client, they'd laugh in your face, and they may cancel the contract. All right? So, just be careful with this stuff. Like quality control. You can see, for example, here it says "mu by spam brain," doesn't really make much sense on the text. So, if you're going to insert images here, just be careful the actual image text looks good, or just say, "Remove any text from the images," so that you don't have that problem. All right. So, when you really zoom in on the details here, I mean, look at that. "A message a messaging." It's a different language. I don't know what that is. It looks like Swedish or something. Sorry to any Swedish people watching. But on this side, like the text itself is looking pretty cool. And then for this, I would just make sure that you ask inside the presentation for images without text, right? So, for example, this image looks really cool, but it doesn't have any text. So, that's basically it.
Greg Crocker Legend says, "I had an app idea and Chat GPT told me I should do a webpage that acts like an app. A lot cheaper to do. So, that made sense." Yeah, 100%. Sounds good. If you have any questions as we go along, just feel free to ask. But, yeah, basically that's it. So, just be really careful. I would ask it specifically, "Do not use any text inside the images," and then your images will look a lot better. You can actually put that in front of a client, right? Or you can put that in front of your team, whatever. I wonder if we can actually do that inside of Canva here. So, if we say, "Okay, remove." Okay. "Change the images so that none of the images have text in them." See if it can do that. So, I don't know if it can actually edit the presentation or not, but we can try that. And let's see.
"The Spotify method was much better." Michael says, "AI is still terrible with images with text." 100%. And I don't think that's. Let's have a look here. It's not done what we've asked, right? Let me just say X off. Says, "Here's your editable Canva presentation." And then I don't think you can edit the presentation directly inside Chat from that point. So, it's, it's okay, but you're going to need a little bit of back and forth there. It's not as polished as I'd like from the first thing. Look at that. "Spam alert." What is fame? Someone tell me what that is. So, you got to be careful here when it comes to those presentations. You don't get told that on the OpenAI website. So, it's good that we tested that.
Next up, we also have, I believe, the Sora API ready to code with. Let's try this out. So, I'm just going to log in here. So, if you're not available, if you're not familiar with Sora 2, basically, this is the new video API from OpenAI. So, let's see if we can actually use it. Here we've got audio, images, agent builder, assistance, and the chat. Can't see anything for the. Let's try and create a new one here. Model. Can we use? I can't see Sora in the list there. Let's go back to the updates from Dev Day. Sora 2 in the API, apparently. We'll view the docs. So, "Video generation: Create, iterate on, and manage videos with the API." It's like, "Here's how to use it," blah, blah, blah. "Generate a video." So, that's the endpoint. Then apparently you can cope with that as well. I can't see it directly inside the platform, but apparently you can, you can create stuff with it as well. So, you can see here it says, "Okay, you can start using Sora 2. You can create videos, get video status, download videos, list them, and delete them." And this is for Sora 2, but I literally can't see it inside my login here. So, it's not available. We've got a section for images, section for audio.
This is pretty cool as well. So, if you've not seen this, this is a brand new update as well, which is the Agent Builder. All right. And if you're not familiar with this, literally just came out six hours ago. That's why you're not familiar with it. But basically, here you can drag and drop and create AI agents. It reminds me of like Sim AI or Agent, but it looks really cool.
Hamed says, "Can I get a sort of code to?" I think there were some people giving it inside the AI Profit Boardroom. And this is the drag-and-drop agent, right? So, basically, it's kind of like a very simplified version of Agent. Again, it's brand new, so I've not tested it out, but you can basically create and publish assistants here that will start doing stuff for you. All right, so you can say, for example, "Inputs text," that's the input variable. Then we can switch between drag or click over here like this. And then you've got a bunch of ideas on the left-hand side. So, for example, like "Set state," "Transform," pretty simplified here. We can start trying to use it. You can also add, like, a sticky note here. Kind of really is 10. That's exactly what it looks like. So, if we go inside here, we've got "Start my agent." Let's say, for example, "Okay, we want to use a different API here." We can. So, we can switch between models. We can select the reason and effort, whether it's linked to any tools. So, you can say, "Okay, web search, file search, MCP server, code interpreter," etc. And then on that agent as well, you can see a bunch of different model parameters, right? And also whether you want the response to be in the chat or not, and whether you want it to be on conversation history. Let's try this out now. Okay. So, I'm going to say, "Scrape the latest." So, I'm going to try and create, like, a scraper.
How says, "I really want to learn the AI agent." Yeah. Says, "Hey, mate. I hope you're well. Thanks for live." You're welcome. So, if we go on to, "How would I do this?" And I'm going to say, "Okay, scrape the latest news from the web. Give me ideas for a new video for my channel, Julian Goldie SEO or Julian Gold AI." And then let's try and test this out. So, it says, "Run your workflow to evaluate." Okay, how do we run it? Maybe we have to publish it. That was pretty easy to publish. So, you can add a domain as well to this, which is pretty cool. And then to use it on ChatKit, you have to go into the ChatKit integration, and you can actually embed that directly inside the front end apparently. So, you can embed a chat widget. So, you can create your own bots, which is pretty cool. Look at that. Embed ChatKit inside the front end, or you can embed it inside, like, a back end of an app. It says, "On your server, generate a client token." This is all, again, I can't code, right? So, I'm not, I'm not going to try and create this, but basically, you can start using this directly. And then ChatKit is like a way to preview the chats and that sort of thing. Interesting. This is a whole new rabbit hole that I've not gone down.
Ahmed says, "I'm getting it now. See you in there, mate." See you in there, AI Profit Boardroom. Thanks for signing up. How do we actually run this? So, I'm going to have to Chat GPT. Now, you actually get templates as well, apparently, inside the Chat Builder. Let's have a look. Can't see any templates, but let's see. Ah, look at that. Templates over here. So, if you go to platform.openai.com, then you're going to go to Agent Builder. From there, you go to Templates. And then, you've got a bunch of ideas here. So, for example, the obvious one that I think a lot of people would probably use is the customer service one, right? So, you can have a customer service chatbot. Then you get that widget, you deploy it to your website. That's pretty simple and easy to do. So, if we click on that, we've got that good to go. I'm just not 100% sure how to set up. So, you design it. How do you do this bit? You know me. I don't try and be asking. If I don't know how to do something, I would just look it up on the live stream. So, you're creating a small API route like this. If your back end uses Python, do this.

All right. So, if you go to Agent Builder, okay, save it. Choose "Create your own playground." Maybe. There we go. Let's try and figure this out together. It's good for you as well to see how I try and figure this out. I'm not guaranteeing that I'm going to figure it out. But if we take this and we take a screenshot of this, and then we just ask Chat GPT, you know what to do from here. Explain it like I'm. Explain it simply. I'm not going to say explain it like I'm an idiot when I'm on a live stream, but usually I probably would in the background. The main thing is like getting Chat GPT to try and try and simplify it as much as you can. That's the main thing. So, when you're taking screenshots and you're asking for help, etc., you want to simplify it.
Says, "Copy workflow ID." Okay, it looks like this. Copy that. All right, we'll copy that. "Add your domain in the same window." "Add your domain if you're testing locally." Okay, I don't think that's going to work. Is that going to work? I feel like Chat GPT is BSing me here. "Copy the embed code snippet." Yeah, this is way above my head. I'm sure I can figure it out. It's just like on a live stream. This could be a lot of back and forth and extremely boring to watch. But basically, if you want the steps, let me just. I'm going to copy that for you, and I'll put it inside the notes from today inside the AI Money Lab. So, this is completely free. Link in the comments description. I just feel like that's going to take hours to figure out, and it's going to be a lot of messing back and forth. So, we've done a lot there. We've connected to the apps. I can't see Sora in the back end. Honestly, I don't know if that's just available for some people or that sort of thing, but it doesn't seem to be available inside mine. If you want to get access to all the video notes from today, you can. Again, GPT-5 Pro is inside the API. GPT Image 1 Mini is available, too, which is 80% less expensive. That's pretty good. I think that's competing with Nano Banana, but it's just, it's nowhere near on the same level. If you want to create, like, really nice images, check out Nano Banana. We have a lot of training on that inside the AI Profit Boardroom. And then you've also got GPT Realtime Mini, which is a lot cheaper as well. But I would say the main, the biggest differences here are the apps in Chat GPT and the Agent Kit. However, what I would say with the Agent Kit is it seems really complicated to to just deploy. I don't know if they were eventually going to add that inside Chat GPT, but right now it is not ideal.
