[Music] Hello, welcome to Guided Jewish Meditations. My name is Eliezer. Thank you for joining me today.
This is your half hour of connection with the Divine, with the Source of your soul. A time to refocus your life and recharge your spirituality. This is the time when your life's struggles and anxieties can be put on hold completely, leaving you free to experience the world of the Divine. A world where all that exists is you with your Creator, the infinite Source of [Music] all.
Ancient divine wisdom tells us that the Source of all created man to bestow good upon him by allowing him to earn a share in the perfection of all of existence by living a life of virtue, kindness, and benevolence. A life of servitude to the Divine and dedicated to the study of divine wisdom. [Music]
The mystical teachings of this ancient wisdom speak of three levels of divine service where man can utilize and channel the spiritual energies of the first three levels of his soul and thereby align and balance his will with the will of the Creator of all. During today's meditation, we will endeavor to create this union of will and soul where the recognition is achieved that each action, each spoken word, and every thought has within it the potential to create an eternal unification of all, a rectification of what was previously incomplete, and the potential to draw forth a new light from above, infusing all of life with this light.
Please note that during today's meditation, we will meditate on the letters of a mantra, a word of your choosing, which will aid us as we travel through the levels of your soul. Although you can choose any word of any language that you like, it is recommended that you pick a word using the letters of ancient Hebrew. These letters are as ancient as the divine wisdom itself that is contained within them, and meditating on these letters has the immense potential to unlock these spiritual forces and help us towards our goal.
Please find a quiet and comfortable place to begin this spiritual journey. It is important that you feel safe and relaxed in a clean place where you can focus completely on your soul and on its connection to the Divine. There is a path unique to you in all of existence waiting to be explored by you. Sit or lay down, close your eyes, and settle your head back and legs. Begin breathing slowly and evenly, relaxing your body and mind, and focus your mind on your breathing. As you breathe in, focus on the air filling your lungs and experience the air revitalizing your body and mind, filling them with the spiritual energies of the life of your soul, invigorating your entire existence. And as you exhale, fuse any negative emotions you may be experiencing at this moment with the air leaving your lungs, expelling them from your life along with this air. Continue breathing this way, slowly and evenly, and move the divine connection of your soul to the center point of your mind, visualizing it as a column of bright light before you as you bring yourself deeper and deeper into a meditative state. [Music]
Center your mind. Bring the focus of your consciousness to the point before you where all of your mental capacities seem to merge into one, the single point representing the center of your mind. Now, slowly allow any extraneous thoughts to evaporate into thin air. Take your time and continue focusing on this center point as you experience a deep cleansing of the mind where nothing exists but the center of all that you are. [Music]
Meditate on your body, the entirety of the physical aspects of what you are. Your physical body is made up of trillions of vessels for divine light. Every cell in your body, a receptacle of the light of your nephesh, the first level of your soul. [Music]
It is on this level that you find the opportunity to serve your Creator with your actions, the life force within your physical existence. It is here that you utilize your hands to love and care with, where you can use your legs to run to someone in need, and where your lips move to create the perfect conditions for your voice to escape your mouth with every word you speak. Meditate on these cells. Every cell in your body serves a vital function where the life flowing from your nephesh gives these cells the energy to perform the functions that keep you alive at every moment. Take a deep breath now. Meditate on any act of kindness, whether it be the giving of charity, helping someone across the street, or spending an evening with someone in need of encouragement or love. Picture your physical body performing this act of kindness. Your will is aligning with that of the eternal Creator who created and keeps this world in existence with kindness at every moment. This is your nephesh connecting itself to the last hay of the Holy Name, the ultimate vessel, the recipient of all, and through it, the fulfillment of the will of the infinite Source in balance with yours.
As you meditate on this truth, you experience the emergence of the Hebrew letter Hey appearing before you in glowing light. It grows before you, and as your mind's eye focuses on this Hey, you behold a second letter, an Aleph, appearing behind it, balancing it and aligning it with the unity of all, the one true balance behind every particle in existence. Continue meditating on this act of kindness and on these two letters, the Aleph behind the Hey, allowing the divine light emerging from these letters to flow into your nephesh, present in every cell throughout your body as it performs this action of divine [Music] service. [Music] [Music] So. [Music] [Music]
As your meditation on your body continues, you begin to experience a shift in the spiritual focus of your mind. You have followed the connection of your nephesh to the next level of your soul, your ruach, and with it, the life of your breath, the air that enters your body with every breath you take. It is in your ruach that you find the source of the spiritual energy of your voice, the life force that allows you to speak, sing, whisper, and cry with. It is with your ruach that you find the ability to comfort others, and where the voice of the deepest prayers of your soul finds their roots and expression. Take a deep breath. [Music]
Now, think of a word, one that reflects the yearning of your soul, a word of prayer that has the power to penetrate deep into your spiritual being. Allow your soul to connect to this word, this expression of the divine spark within you. Now, focus entirely on your ruach by slowly and gently speaking this word as a mantra, over and over, quietly and slowly, until it becomes effortless. Continue for a short while. [Music]
Experience your ruach, the breath and life of your voice, as it emerges from the physical movements of your lips, your nephesh creating the vessels for your ruach, the breath of life flowing into you, only to emerge as a spoken word. As this mystical unification of ruach and nephesh manifests itself in your consciousness, you begin to see before you the outlines of the Vov, the third letter of the divine name of the infinite Source of all. Form out of the nothingness of your mind, it grows to fill the entire scope of your mental being, and as you breathe in deeply, you see it fill with radiating waves of light, the Vov of your ruach, the breath of life that keeps you alive at every moment. You continue meditating on this Vov and on the mantra prayer escaping your lips, the unification of nephesh and Hey, as you behold before you the emergence of a second Aleph appearing behind the Vov, its center axis perfectly aligned with the Vov, balancing it and balancing your ruach along with it. Continue meditating on these two letters, the Aleph behind the Vov, perfectly aligned and united with your nephesh, the vessel that contains it and keeps you alive at every moment of your life. [Music] [Music] [Music] So. [Music] [Music]
Your meditation on the unity of your ruach and nephesh deepens, and you become aware of the third level of your soul, your neshama, at the very upper edges of your body, where your mind in your brain slowly flows into the world that lies beyond that which is physical, where nothing but your thoughts exist. It is in your neshama that you have the ability to think and to reason, to focus and to remember, and it is here where the ability exists for your mind to connect to the mind of the eternal Creator of all by studying the words of the Torah, the divine wisdom that lies at the core of all. It is here that you experience true divine meditation, where the physical body is left behind, and where the true reality of existence is experienced, that spirituality lies at the foundation and core of all. Take a deep breath. Allow complete stillness to enter your consciousness. [Music]
Now, recall the word you used earlier in this meditation and picture this word before you, its letters appearing in black, fiery ink against the white parchment of your mind. Allow them to slowly grow in your mind and hold on to them gently and in a state of deep relaxation, without forcing them to remain in your mind. If extraneous thoughts appear, don't force them away. Instead, allow them to gently dissipate into nothingness and then slowly refocus on this word. Continue meditating this way for a few moments. [Music] [Music] [Music]
Now, with this word before you, take another deep breath and begin speaking this mantra again, over and over, slowly and gently, until your nephesh, the movement of your lips, and your ruach, the breath entering and escaping your body, unite themselves with your neshama and with the letters in your mind. Now complete through you. It is through the actions of your lips that you give your ruach the ability to manifest itself in the letters of the thoughts of your neshama, a unification of divine light through you. As you continue with this mantra meditation, this deep form of prayer, you see before you the first letter, Hey, of the ineffable name of the Creator, begin to expand in your mind's eye, at first appearing behind the letters of your mantra, but then transcending them and finally uniting itself with them. As you contemplate this Hey growing in bright light before you, you experience the emergence of a third Aleph, again appearing behind the Hey, balancing your mind and consciousness along with this Hey. It is now as the three levels of your soul are perfectly aligned with the will of the eternal Creator of all that you experience true divine service, as every aspect of your life fulfills its purpose for which it was created, to align your will with that of the Giver of Life, the one will that transcends all. Continue meditating on this union, this balance of divine will, your soul perfectly aligned with the Creator of all. [Music]
As your meditation approaches its deepest point, you experience a brilliant point of light at the root of all three levels of your soul. It is as if your nephesh, surrounding your ruach, infused with the light of your neshama, finds a central point that is their root and core. This is your Chayah, one with the Source of all of existence. We are the balance of the three Alephs, the balance of the three levels of your soul meets its one true Source. As you meditate on this point of light, you see it expand into the letter Yud, starting at the lowest point of the letter and then moving up and forming the entire letter, culminating at its highest point, the tip of the Yud, where all you can behold and experience flows into nothingness. [Music]
This is the first letter of the divine name of the Creator, where nothing exists but the unity of all, where all of creation emerges from, and where the divine wisdom emanating from the divine will manifests itself in this Yud, the letter that combines all levels of divine service into one. As you breathe in deeply, you behold before you all four letters of the Name appearing before you in this black, radiating fire, filling the entire expanse of your mind, and along with it, all four levels of your soul through you and with you. [Music] [Music]
We are approaching the conclusion of this meditation. Breathe deeply and evenly, and relax your body and mind as you slowly and gently bring yourself back to your body and the present. [Music]
Thank you for joining me today for this meditation of divine service. To recognize that every cell in our bodies, every word we speak, and every thought we think presents an opportunity of divine service is to truly experience life lived to its fullest. My name is Eliezer. May peace be with you.
