And the title for today's sermon from which we'll receive grace is he breathed on them and said receive the Holy Spirit. And right now, we will hear the video sermon from our founding pastor. And I hope you receive much grace.
Today's scripture passage follows the event which Jesus shattered the power of death and rose again. And at that time, anyone who believed in Jesus was being seized and put to death. So terrified by this, the disciples shut and locked the doors tight, trembling in fear, yet Jesus appeared right in their midst without even opening the door. And it was truly astounding. It was a mind-boggling occurrence.
And first, he declared twice over, "Peace be with you." He said it twice, "Peace be with you." And then stating, "As the father sent me, even so I send you." And he once again entrusted them with their mission. And then anticipating they might harbor doubts, he invited them to touch him. In other words, he revealed his pure side, the nail marks in his hands and feet, and the wounds from the crown of thorns and displayed all these marks for them to see. And so as he did so, he breathed out deeply, exhaling his breath upon them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit." And isn't that such an authority that was given to them? And he said that if you forgive other sin, they will be forgiven. And if you leave them unforgiven, they'll be left unforgiven.
So today's passage says he breathed on them and said receive the Holy Spirit. Jesus's breath. It's his breath. And if we look in the original language, it is breath. Like when you say ha. And you know that you can see the white breath when you say ha. Like in the winter, Jesus's breath. And when you look at the words of Genesis 2:7, it says, "Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being." And I'll read from the common translation. Genesis 2:7 says, "Yahweh God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being." That's what it says.
Is not the essence of man dust? And what is the original meaning of that word dust? These individual particles of dust and we came together to form the earth. As for the breath of life, we know that's nema in Hebrew and it means the breath of life from Isaiah 2:22 and also the spirit of the almighty. The spirit of the almighty and that is found in Job 33:4. And so living soul as mentioned earlier in Hebrew is nephesha comprises the characters of life and spirit. So it denotes a living being or a spiritual entity. Thus to reiterate the point made in Genesis 2:7. God's breath of life became a living soul within humanity. God's breath, his very exhalation became the vital life force within human beings. And that breath of life is unequivocally the fundamental source of life. Whereas the living soul represents a very existence of a human being when the context of God's will within the actual reality. So breath of life is a fundamental source of life and living soul, the very existence of human being.
So if humans had not sinned, God is eternal, right? Because humans were also created with the eternity mind, humans could live with God eternally. And this is the kind of being we are. But if we had not sinned, then there would be no death and we would have been immortal. So God's breath of life is spirit plus the dust is body. And so before humans sinned, they were eternally living creatures. And did he not create the angels? Weren't angels created that way too? Angels also live eternally. And although they are creatures created by God for the sake of us humans, although the substance of the physical bodies matter, please believe that the spiritual body which unites the soul and reflects the image of God is exactly what Adam and Eve and you and I were before sinning. And that is what we were that is a spiritual body.
So when God created humans as a very advanced animal creature and God created all things in the universe and though he created all things in the universe only into humans did he breathe his own breath that breath of life so that they became a living soul. So we are living souls. And so sin is the enemy. So the purpose of Jesus coming was to do away with the sin. It's in Matthew 1:21. So the name Jesus means saving his people from sin. That is the meaning of the name Jesus. So when we believe in Jesus, he takes away all of our sins. He nails them to the cross and disposes of them completely. And even so, there's still worry. Worry that Satan might exploit them. So he completely burns them away with the fire of the Holy Spirit. And with the fire of the Holy Spirit that is so John the Baptist said so. I believe it was in Matthew 3:11 says, "As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I." And he says that he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. So we see that fire has a proper burning and combustion has power. But when you believe in Jesus, even if you don't worry, when you receive the Holy Spirit, when you receive the Holy Spirit, please believe that the Holy Spirit takes care of everything and will completely consume your sins.
Therefore, the human body is an external expression of the divine image resembling God. And this is in 1 Corinthians chapter 15:44 to 49. It is destined for eternal life. It does not die. We see that the body was created as a created entity and God breathed the breath of life into it provided that remain free of sin and thus it became a living soul. It is fundamentally a spiritual being. So early on in Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, "He has made everything appropriate in his time, he has also set eternity in their heart. Yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end." And so God says, "Hey, you humans, listen, you were never originally meant to die. You die only because you have sinned." But didn't Jesus come precisely to resolve that problem, the problem of death? So you if you truly put your trust in Jesus and you belong to the Lord spiritual body as it says in Philippians 3:21 then you have spiritual then you too have a spiritual body. So if Jesus transformed then you too can be transformed and rather than listening to what I say please turn to 1 Corinthians chapter 15:44 to 49. 1 Corinthians 15:44 to 49. Let's all read it together. 1 Corinthians chapter 15 to 49. Let's read it together. Ready? Go. It is sown a natural body. It is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. So also it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, then the spiritual. The first man is from the earth, earthy. The second man is from heaven. As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy. As is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly. As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy."
And so we see, look, human beings are flesh. However, when this earthly fleshly body becomes to believe in Jesus, then he'll transform it into a spiritual body. So you have to believe in this. And why would you believe in Jesus soul if your flesh just dies indeed for all eternity? You might as well do whatever you please here on earth. So considers 1 Corinthians 15:44 to 49 how precious these words are. So when God created man when he brought humanity into existence he did not do so as a makeshift temporary measure. It was not a creation tend to be transient. Rather he created with us with eternity in mind. So that was mentioned in in Ecclesiastes 3:11. God placed eternity within the human heart. And so what a precious being man is. So doesn't that make believing in Jesus truly worthwhile? So how wonderful that is.
The human body is an external external expression of divine image, a likeness of God. So we see that it is also to show the intimacy of God that allows direct interaction with him that may be present. God is God. Humans are humans. So why then he did he create humans human beings? Because God's intimacy must reside within human beings. And only then can human true community take place. God I he's like oh really that is how a dialogue becomes possible. If God is truly spiritual then we remain solely in the flesh. No conversation can occur. That's in Psalm 25:14 and Amos 3:7. So why does he enable a person to be spiritually attuned to have communion with God to have communion with God and when you join the military specifically as a communication specialist there's a practice involving transmission of radio signals like a rhythmic patterns like chichi roto taton and then next comes the use of code words for instance if the first division headquarters designates itself as eagle for the day and each of the residents might identify as pigeon so if a transmission comes through saying pigeon pigeon the enemy even if they intercept it they won't understand the meaning. So each division assigned its own unique identifier perhaps mount pectu mount cherry mount chan. So when a call goes out say mount chan come in or mount chan chan come in the response confirms this is mount chan and by identifying specific mountain name one can immediately determine which division and which regiment. So Satan wouldn't find out to commune directly with god communion is to have that communion with god and that is in proverbs chapter 332. And then thirdly, that God's friendship might rest upon my tent. So why did God create us in his own image? Why did he create us to have communion with him? So that God's friendship is firmly established, stretched over like our tents, our homes. And therefore, please believe that the force of darkness cannot enter your household.
And the human soul is a living soul created by the breath of God. And if human does not have a soul, then they're just like a regular animal because they only have physical life. But humans, we see at the same time, didn't you speak about it? The soul never dies. He gave that soul to us. He gave that to us. So the outcome of your faith and why? So why do you believe in Jesus? It is so that your soul will not perish eternally but receive salvation and these are truly precious words. How wonderful is it? The outcome of faith is salvation of the souls nothing else. And that is why your soul must prosper. Your soul must receive the word. Your soul must receive grace. Only when your soul prospers will all things prosper. And when all things prosper you receive the blessings of robust robust health.
So in James 5:20, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins. As mentioned earlier when we look at 1 Peter 1:9 says the outcome of faith is receiving salvation of the soul and that is eternal life. So what is the outcome of faith? It's the salvation of the soul. And so according to 1 John 2:25, there's only one promise between God and humanity. That's eternal life. The salvation of the soul is in fact eternal life. So everyone, please do not forget this. 1 Peter 1:9 says, "Obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls." Let's all read it together. Let's find it. First Peter 1:9 All together start obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls. Look at that after that says therefore those who suffer according to do the will of God shall trust their souls. So God does not accept those who fail to do good who commit sin who harbor deceitful hearts or whose minds are kin to those of a thief. It's only those in the midst of doing good that you can entrust your soul to God. The one who is faithful, who never rejects us, who is supremely good, who is righteous. So, please write this down. First Peter 4:19. Write it down.
The original Hebrew term nephesha signifies one possessing life. And this term also applies to beasts and livestock. It says in Genesis 1:24, it also implies that beasts are being endowed with physical life whereas humans became beings endowed with spiritual life. Listen closely. Into which of the beast did God breathe the breath of life? Among all living creatures. It was man, humanity alone that God personally fashioned with his own hands, breathing his own very breath of life directly into their nostrils. And in that moment, man became a living soul. He began to breathe. He breathed into his nostrils a breath of life and man became a living soul. Only human beings receive this unique and special breath of life from God. So when we call out God the father, a communion is established. A true dialogue takes place. So thus recognize that God is a personal God. I urge all of you who believe in him to firmly hold to this truth that you too become a kind of people you were before sin entered the world.
So imagine listen carefully let's say the power goes out at night and you might call out hey where are the candles where's the flashlight and a person who possesses practical wisdom knows this that even if the electricity flows steadily all year round there are bound to be times when the power fails. So such a wise person whenever the lights go out already knows exactly where to find the candles. They know their designated spot and it it may be pitch black making possible to see yet even if they have to grope around in the dark they can say oh I put them right there in the second drawer and then surely enough the candles are there. So therefore God holds fast his soul that commits no sin like a flashlight. Hey, the power went out. Where are the candles? Right here, father. Bring them quickly. And the matches, the matches are here, too. And you handle hand the candle to your father. Strike a match to light it. And then shine its beam. And suddenly everything becomes bright. And so the very moment the light appears, the surrounding darkness completely recedes. So, so you each and every one of you are God's flashlight. You are his lamp. Your soul, yes, your soul must be in good health. So why do we gather for worship? We gather so that our souls may be illuminated. So that we may kindle the fire of God's word within our spirits. And please believe this is the true purpose of our gathering. So that's because we are gathered here today. God will surely illumine your souls, enabling you to receive and partake of his word. We are the lamp of God. Let's say this together. The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord. And this is in Proverbs chapter 20 verse 27. So the spirit of man is a lamp of the Lord. And so like when the human spirit is likened to a lamp, it implies that all has been anointed with oil. And it's like we must possess oils described in Matthew 25, the parable of the wedding feast. When the bridegroom arrives, the brides have prepared both their lamps and oil with and able to light them and go out to welcome. And they had their lamps, they had flame, they had to light them. Yet the flames went out. Why? Because there was no oil. So consequently, the brides who possess oil told those who did not. If we give any to you, there will not be enough for either of us. We cannot share it. So left no other choice, the five foolish virgins went to the oil merchants to buy some. And while they were gone, the wedding took place. And as soon as the ceremony concluded, the door was locked. And thus, when they finally returned, they cried out, "Lord, Lord, please open the door for us." And he says, "Who are you? Oh Lord, when you were hungry, we gave you ramen, noodles, and bread by the roadside somewhere. Don't you know me? And the Lord said, I simply do not know you." And so it's absolutely maddening. And this is also recorded in Luke 13:2. It's recorded exactly in the same way, the anointing or the light lighting of the lamp. If the oil was present, it was poured out. And so we have to see view from the length of scripture. It's our very breath. So the sense of relief. When a light is kindled, that deep sigh of comfort is truly our breath. The very air exhaled from our nostrils. You yourselves are the very word of God is alive. Everything goes in imbued meaning with purpose. the heavenly host, the angels, all of creation look upon God's works with admiration. For God is he who knows no failure. So in other words, our body is akin to a lamp. So only when we receive the word, then we become the oil. And we receive the oil of God's word, we see that the lamp of our bodies ignites it with the fire of the Holy Spirit, the breath of God. So, Lamentations 4:20 refers to the anointing as our breath, the very breath of our nostrils. And then John 3:8, the act of weighing things by the Holy Spirit of God. Isn't that likened to the wind? And then 1 Corinthians 19:6-19-20 says, "Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit." Our bodies are temples of souls. They're indeed temples. That is 1 Corinthians 3:16, 1st Timothy 3:15, Ephesians 2:21, Exodus 29:45-46. The true temple, we have to meet God. It's the Holy Spirit where God can meet us. And he said to Moses, "Hey, build my sanctuary. Why build it? I must meet with the people of Israel." So therefore, through prayer or through the word, there must be a living work of you meeting with God as you all pray. And I bless you name of the Lord. You you have to believe it. You just have to believe it. Even when drinking water, I say, "Thank you, God. Hey, water. Thank you. You came to me a believer. You are blessed, too." And you drink it with a great thankful heart. The water dances. It does so much good. It does us so much good. And there's no doubt about it.
And on the evening of the day, Jesus rose from the dead. As he said earlier, what were his first words to his disciples? Jesus first utterance to disciples on the evening of his resurrection was peace be with you in John 20:119. Peace be with you. Look here. Even if we possess great wealth and power, even if our children are growing up successfully, and even if our family life is the envy of others, if there's no peace in our hearts, then there's nothing short of hell. So Jesus's first act was to grant us peace, true peace within our hearts, peace of mind. Says, "Peace be with you." And he bestowed upon us the blessing of inner peace. And next he declared, "As the father has sent me, even so I send you a mission." And he entrusted them with a mission. And Jesus granted them peace. He gave them. He breathed out on them, exhaling his very breath toward them. He spoke these words, receive the Holy Spirit. And this is recorded in John 20:22. Receive the Holy Spirit. And these words are promised to his chosen people, to the chosen people of the kingdom of heaven, that he will give them a spiritual life through the word and the Holy Spirit, so that they will never die, but again, but live. and is a promise.
So in 1 Corinthians 15:45 says so it's also written the first man Adam became a living soul and so the last Adam became a lifegiving spirit the last Adam is that not Jesus the first Adam failed and the second Adam Jesus did not fail but triumphed. Therefore, please believe that when you and I enter into the second Adam, Jesus Christ, and become one with the Lord, we will have eternal life and immortality.
So why did he say to receive the Holy Spirit by to by breathing out to restore God's living soul that flew away when Adam and Eve sinned? Those from whom God's living soul has flown away have a name that they are alive, but they are living corpses. So listen carefully. When Adam and Eve sinned, God's living soul flew away. They have a name, they alive, but they were living corpses. Corpses. Listen carefully. So the during times of Adam, even Noah, they were merely flesh flesh. It was a state where the spirit had not been put into them. They are mere illusions. They were humans, but they did not bear the image of God. Instead, they just carried they just carried the image of man. So in the common translation says, since humans are nothing more than animals, my breast which was blown in with a whoosh in Genesis 2:7 cannot remain in humans forever. And so that is why it left. That is why God's spirit left. So for therefore the act of breathing out is a symbolic gesture concerning life in Greek. We see it is numa spirit meaning wind breath respiration. So Jesus's breath symbolizes the holy spirit. So Jesus breath serves as a symbol of the living spirit the holy spirit. If a lifeless corpse the holy spirit comes back to life. So you have to pray. You have you can't do you think I spent 47 days at Mount Chang and subsequently three or six months and seven days in Mount Jury without receiving the Holy Spirit. It was entirely by God's grace. So never mind Mount Jerry m just go to Mount Chan and try staying up all night for two consecutive nights. You have to truly pray to receive the Holy Spirit.
Just imagine as evening falls if a storm were to rage or lightning were to flash across the pitch black sky. A sense of dread and fear would inevitably arise in the human heart. That is why without receiving the Holy Spirit, one is in truth afraid. But once you receive the Holy Spirit, you realize that God is right beside you, present with you. There's no fear. It's truly reassuring. There's no need for worry. The very thought of fear simply sees across your mind. The Lord walks alongside you. He's with you. Even now, God stands by your side encouraging you or protecting you, keeping you safe. So when we look at the scriptures, what does it say in John 14:26? It provides everything about the future. It teaches you, provides every single detail. And because I believe all this during my three years and six months at Mount Jury, it was covered in fog for eight months so that nothing could be seen. And so it was so cold. It's easy to say, but it's truly a suicidal act. The word of Pyong Church receives was not received in a state of fullness under a bright light bulb but it was granted with the tr illumination of the Holy Spirit. So how wonderful is this? God's breath is the Holy Spirit. the Holy Spirit.
50 days after the resurrection on the day of Pentecost, a fire like cloven tongues and a wind blew with a whoosh upon the 120 disciples in Mark John's upper room and it just blew. And didn't all the 120 disciples resolve the spirit at once and speak in tongues of each nation? And because of that, whenever they shouted, those fearful disciples of the Lord became strong and courageous, even without a shadow of fear. And so in Matthew 28:20, Jesus said he would be with us until the end of the age. So to preach the gospel, he said to preach the gospel, boldly preach the gospel. beaten and imprisoned. Did he even bat an eye? The Holy Spirit, it is God's very breath. It is God's life force. The sheer vitality for the one who has entered the Holy Spirit. Yes, the Holy Spirit. It is only is known to those who have received it. Only the recipient truly knows it. So we s we find the sound of a rushing mighty wind described in Acts 2:1-3. at that sound like a strong wind. It swept through and the disciples did not merely experience a sudden thunder or shock but having received grace they were suddenly filled with a vibrant spiritual vitality and it brought about the spiritual rebirth of Jesus' hidden disciples. It brought about the spiritual rebirth of Jesus and disciples. It gave birth to the church of Christ and it empowered them to take the lead in world missions carrying the gospel forward. And so we see that is no ordinary thing. This breath enters into humans making them living souls so that they could breathe. How wonderful is this? How great is this? Try receiving Jesus's breath. Try receiving his breath of life. When you receive Jesus breath, transformation happens. Confidence grows and you get a true taste for believing Jesus. And just as you only eat food when it tastes good, you get a real taste for believing Jesus. Your praise becomes powerful. Your prayers become like that too. And your purpose in life becomes clear.
So please believe that it will become a life of faith with absolutely no regrets. Jesus's breath, the Holy Spirit that God has given us is not a spirit of fear. That's found in 2 Timothy chapter 1:7. He has not given a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and self-discipline. And the common translation says, "The Holy Spirit that God has given us does not instill a cowardly spirit within us, but rather grants us power, love, and self-control. I want to eat this." But it might cause someone else to stumble in that moment. You exercise self-control. You refrain from doing it. And the Holy Spirit given by God does not give us a cowardly heart but strength. Love and self-control. It is power and authority gives strength. It gives the Lord's fervent love so that hateful people disappear. You become self-controlled. And even when you hate others, you think I shouldn't do this. And it brings self-control into your heart. And then prudence is to be cautious and careful means careful and cautious. Being cautious in speech and action action being cautious through self-reflection and having strict control over one's attitude of life that governs oneself. So there's a strict control governing oneself and you say no then you don't go and that's good. And this is the work of Pentecost. And he gave power to the weak disciples. And at this hour today, we are weak in every way. We are weak because we lack things. Weak in other ways, weak in body. So please believe at this very moment of listening to the word. He has given you great power. And then to the fearful disciples, he took away all their fear and just blew it far away. So please believe that for all of you receiving the word today, there will be no fear. also courage. Courage wells up. And furthermore, you might say to yourself, I need to change my heart. But you cannot change it on your own. And please believe that the Holy Spirit comes comes without your even realizing it and repairs your heart into a peaceful state without you even realizing, even knowing how. Look, he casts out the fear of disciples. He says, "Get out you." He casts out the fear. And that is the authority and power of the Holy Spirit. He fear has been cast out. Yes. Fear itself. And within the disciples hearts there's stability. No more worries or anxieties. A mind made stable. And furthermore, serenity. That serenity does not merely sprout up half-hazardly here and there. Rather, it's a result of a complete overall as if by a bulldozer. The Holy Spirit's bulldozer which has smoothed out the terrain of the heart, uprooting every weed and casting out. I ask you to believe this. Do you understand?
And next the to the beloved saints of Pang Church, the peace of faith, the peace of love and the living hopeful peace of life fearless like a chariot facing front and back where there's nowhere you cannot go and where you can go anywhere as the Holy Spirit leaves. You cannot say things like I'm too busy. I can't go. The peace of faith. The peace of faith. Your faith must not grow sick. And then the peace of living hope to the disciples. Trembling in fear. The peace of life in both spirit and body. And when he gives the word for fear that you might eat it and get indigestion, God gives the word just like feeding infants. That says in Hebrews 5 where they cannot eat solid food and can only drink milk. in even with solid food. Imagine how wonderful is when God slices it all up and seasoned it for you. How wonderful that is. And I believe the peace of life both spiritually and physically will be yours. And I believe that the peace of life will fill you from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet. That is why in Acts 1:8 it is written, but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be my witnesses. So please believe that you must receive the Holy Spirit for faith to rise and then for fear to disappear. And when you receive the Holy Spirit, you gain confidence. You immense confidence and you do not rely on anyone else's help. And you say, "Lord, the Holy Spirit is with me. Please help and work within me." And when you preach the gospel, the authority of the word comes upon you. And when Jesus spoke, didn't the crowd say that Jesus word had far more authority than when the pastors and elders spoke? Yes, that's right. There is authority in the word. And this is recorded in Matthew chapter 7:28-29 and the same in Mark chapter 1:22 and Matthew 13:54. It's the exact same word as well. And even though many people called Jesus' words heresy or worse and the leaders of that time still acknowledged, however, that his word had authority, that it had power, the authority of the word. If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them. If you retain the sins of any, they have been retained. And I believe that this authority of the word will be upon you.
Consider the Apostle Paul, it is written in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, "My power is made in weakness." And that is recorded there. He says, "I will rather boast gladly about my weaknesses." Why? It is not natural to cry out, "Oh no, I'm dying here." Yet he rejoices, it says, in his weakness. That is precisely what I believe. I believe in God. I believe in God. Yes, I truly believe. Oh God, please breathe your very breath of life into my body. Is that not the Holy Spirit? So when the wind of the Holy Spirit breathes upon into us, we become strong precisely in our weakness. And that's in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10. And please remember this. Do you understand? Jesus's very breath. The Holy Spirit, it empowers our weakness makes us empowered. My actions are utterly inept, completely lacking in ability. But try doing things through the Holy Spirit. without reading the Bible, without seeing the Holy Spirit, I realize that I simply cannot truly believe in the authority of the word. I may have grasped it intellectually through common sense and worldly knowledge, but when the authority of the word truly corrupts me, just it says in Hebrews 4:12, it pierces and divides, even to the deepest depths of the soul and marrow. As we look at verse 13, consider this. If you were to receive everything of the authority of the word, imagine for a moment men and women disroing. Wouldn't everything be laid bare, the chest, the navl, the abdomen, everything would be fully exposed? And I pray in the name of the Lord that this very authority of the word which lays everything bare in such a manner may descend upon every single member of Pyong Church. And I bless you. I bless you in the name of the Lord. How wonderful is this? It's the gospel of forgiveness, the gospel of eternal life. When you receive the Holy Spirit, you are free from sin. God grants us such authority. Whomever you forgive, they are forgiven. The gospel of forgiveness, the gospel of eternal life.
When Jesus came to this earth after his resurrection when he appeared to his disciples who were hiding away trembling fear, he did not come empty-handed or merely with words alone. He came in his resurrection resurrected spiritual body. And through the scriptures, we are now encountering the resurrected Lord. Right here in John chapter 20, we're hearing the very voice of the Lord. Look closely. First of all, he says, "Peace be with you." He declared peace. Next, he recommissioned them as apostles. And he declared and ordained them. He says, "You're an eldest. You're an elder. You're a pastor. You're this and this within the church." And in this manner, he truly declared and ordained them as apostles. He says, "Receive the Holy Spirit, the gospel of forgiveness through which the sins of anyone may be absolved." Thus, it is the very breath of Jesus, the very breath of his hidden authority and power. Now, I'll give the conclusion. Jesus's breath is none other than the Holy Spirit. It is none other than the Holy Spirit. It cleanses. Let us read 1 Corinthians 6:11. Please find it. The word in found in 1 Corinthians 6:11. Let's read together. 1 Corinthians 6:11. Ready? Begin. Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and the spirit of the Lord. And look, we see that they were washed and sanctified. And says in Matthew 3:11, and what does he say? He says, "I'll baptize you with water for mittens, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire, with fire." It says he's going to burn it all away. And I believe that he will thoroughly cleanse away all of our trans transgressions and our sins. Please believe this.
So, who is the strongest person? Who is it? Who is it? It's the person who has received the word. The one who has received grace, it is the one who believes without a shred of doubt, accepts and believes this word exactly as it is. That person is the strongest and healthiest believer in all the word. Please believe this spiritually and physically. And look at Jesus's breath. Says whoosh. I believe that through this your heart will be purified and made clean. Do you understand? Jesus's breath is the very breath of holiness. Why? Because his breath he himself is holy. He himself is holy. It is found in Romans 1:4. Romans 1:4. The breath of Jesus is the breath of holiness. It is a power that brings resurrection. The spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit. It is within this context that we receive the breath of Jesus. Jesus constantly saying, "Receive it." And we say, "Lord, breathe your breath into me." Is that not the Holy Spirit? Just as we became living souls where the breath of life was breathed into us, I like Adam and Eve before the fall will live as a living soul and faithfully believe in Jesus. And in your heart, I pray that you may conduct your church life with such a prayerful deep heart. Do you understand? Rise and call upon the name of Jesus to wash away your sins. How great is this to call upon the name of Jesus? He is holy and the pure spirit of truth. He is the Holy Spirit who washes away sin and purifies. And also Jesus himself promised in John 14:16-17 common translation, "If I ask the father, he will send another helper to be with you forever. He is a spirit of truth. This world cannot receive him because it neither sees him nor knows him. that you know him. For he lives with you and is in you." And so in other words, it is a comforter. A comforter. He is a comforter means to protect or guarantee plus grace and also teacher and He has called us for the purpose of helping, to counsel, to comfort, to encourage. And so as a noun, it's the advocate, the pleader, the intercessor, the mediator. And so calls us for the purpose of helping. He admonishes, comforts, and encourages us. So say someone might be kind but he we say but the Holy Spirit will say he is wavering because he doesn't have a firm established faith yet. I will take responsibility for him and so he takes responsibility for us. So please believe that the Holy Spirit takes responsibility. How wonderful is this? Completely before the triune God. It's great. The counselor, the Holy Spirit is also misunderstood. He is misunderstood. He's also insulted. Yet the counselor, the spirit always declares that we are innocent. Jesus bore all of this person's sins. Is he not sinless? Since he gave him the righteousness of Jesus as a gift and declared him sinless. Why is this person a sinner? But why are but aren't they still committing sins? That's just the process of growing up. He says, I will take responsibility for that. So please believe that God looks at the counselor, the Holy Spirit, and instead of sentencing you to this day, he grants a suspension of sentence and he watches over you. Do you understand?
And look at the disciples who experienced the Holy Spirit parting like tongues of fire in the upper room on Pentecost. And when they went out like a good friend, they were fearless, strong, courageous, full of confidence. And they rejoiced even when beaten, continually praised and prayed to Jesus, and held for a hope of heaven with absolute conviction and without a shadow of a doubt. And they preached their wives, their children, their relatives, and their friends. and we consider this history that was been covered. Overcome the world through the 2,000year history of Christianity and this work. I hope that you too will also have confidence. Says, repeat after me. All of you. Behold, I am with you always to the very end of the age. Matthew chapter 28:20. I say it again. Amen. Come quickly, Lord Jesus. Amen. Come quickly, Lord Jesus. And as I breathe in the word like this, he says, "Receive the Holy Spirit." And just say, "Amen." And not just me, but into our family. Not just for me, our entire family. And and in the midst of this work, he said, "Please blow this Holy Spirit upon me. And in the midst of this work, they finished today's message in return. I hope that you'll walk firmly upon this earth, stepping firmly onto it with vigor, strength, confidence, dignity, and vitality. And I pray that this will be how you will be. Let us pray. Our living father god, we who are just like dust, but you have called us to be your people, to commune with you, and that you would be our personal God. And we are full of sin. And we didn't even ask for to get close to you. But you through the word, we have become those counterparts where we could communicate with you directly and have a personal relationship and that we have this intimacy. Let us be able to understand this. And just like the early church and the work of the church, may the Holy Spirit's work be renewed in us and be known to us personally.
