Hello, I'm Mike. 10 months ago, I posted a video showing how you can make an iOS app in minutes with AI. And of course, it went viral because it felt like magic, but it still required a Mac, Xcode, and a bit of setup. Well, what if I told you that that's the old way? And today we're going to build a fully native distributable iOS app without a computer.

Now in the last video, we used Cursor and Xcode it’s powerful but a process. Today we're using a tool called bitrig, which is available to download on the App Store, and it's a total game changer. Let me just click to start this downloading. Double click to install. Oh, and get this. It was created by the same engineers at Apple who invented Swift AI, which is the modern way to build apps. So they're not just using the tech, but they actually created it.
Okay, now the app is downloaded from the App Store. Let's open it up. And you basically build by chatting with the app. Okay, I've opened bitrig. There's no files create, no folders to open. We just start chatting and I want to stick with the Tide Times app that I tried in the last video to see how much faster it is. Now, the best news is when you sign in, you can start for free. I want an app to track tide times. It should ask me for a location, and then show the high and low tides for the next 24 hours in a simple list. Okay. That's good. Let's send it off to bitrig and see what happens.
Now it's crazy because it uses AI to think and generate native Swift code in real time. But the crazy part is it has its own Swift interpreter built right in, so you can see the results instantly. Like we're about to see. Okay, we have a basic app. Let's test it out and type in something like Portsmouth like so and get the tide times. Hey look at that. It works. Well it took me a lot longer in my original video to make an app that works. My last video required going back and forth and editing code, but here we just pop this open and keep talking.
So this is great, but make the UI look beautiful. Give it a nautical or water theme. Use a nice blue gradient and maybe a curvy graph instead of a list. And with that done, we just enter it and we let the AI work away. It's edited the code and very soon we should have an updated app. Then look at that. Oh my goodness. It completely redesigned the app on the fly. This is definitely vibe coding in its purest form.
Let's give it another go just to make sure I'm happy. We can completely dismiss the AI prompting for the moment. We'll type in. Actually, let's type in somewhere different. So let's try Southampton this time. Get the tide times... Oh my goodness me. Look at that. That is absolutely insane. What took me well. Minutes is taking me seconds now with this vibe coding app that works right here on my phone with nothing else required. This really does feel like the future of app creation, right?
Let's add one more feature by popping this open again and I'll say Add a five star rating system so I can rate the conditions for surfing. And as before, we'll just send this off to the app and let it think through what exactly it's going to do. It not only thinks on the fly, but very soon it's going to edit all the code. No need for Xcode or Cursor or back and forth or syncing folders. my goodness me. It's added a five star rating system just like that. This time we'll type in Blackpool and then get the tide times then. Hey. Oh what's the current condition for surfing I don't know. Four stars. Great. And look at that. Just like that. We have a beautiful, fully functional tide times up with a custom feature All built by chatting with my iPhone.
Now this is where my last video ended. I then had to plug my phone into my Mac with a cable, get it set up on my device and that was cool. But then I loaded the app on my phone just for me. I couldn't distribute it. Now this is where bitrig does the impossible. Watch this I'm going to tap here. I'm going to go to the three dot menu. And look you have the ability to distribute app right there. And if you have a pro account if you pay to upgrade, it can connect to TestFlight, which is an app that sits right there on your phone. The app will then securely connect to my Apple Developer account. That cost something like 99 bucks a year. And now bitrig is building the app in the cloud, handling all the complex code, signing and packaging, and also uploading it directly to the App Store. Connect for me. So my friends, my family, anyone I want really can go ahead and try it. And it really is as simple as that. From an idea to a distributable app without ever touching a computer, that right there, in my opinion, is the future of creation. The barrier to entry for creating software has been obliterated. It's no longer about being a programmer, knowing a language or anything else. It's just about having an idea. And this is what I mean when I constantly say AI orchestration. This is a real world example of using apps that do the jobs for you. Do the heavy lifting built by people who know how these systems work. Apple developers who worked with Swift code before.
