2004 man, the Olympic, the infamous Olympic team. Even Jen was like, "Yo, what's good, Daddy? What y'all doing out here?" Lost, I'm saying? Like, what? I want to just hear from y'all, you know what I'm saying? Like, lost. Somebody you hear from me. We lost. We didn't have, you know, Larry Brown wanted to coach the team like it was, um, like it was the 76ers, but it was the Dream Team. It wasn't, you know, the, it wasn't the, the, the. There was a Joe Ratliff out there, man. It was, it was crazy.
Cuz, you know, we came, we came, and the practice is cool, but we're not, we don't play the same way as Aaron McKe and Eric Snow, right? It's different roles, you know, it's not the same way. So, you know, that adjustment, and we wasn't really ready, you know, during that time period. It was a lot going on on the, on in the world with the, with the war. You know, we didn't even know where we were going to stand at at first. We was like, "Oh, we're going to be standing on the Queen Mary 3?" Like, how did that happen? What is that? A hotel? F***, dude.
The boat was the Queen Mary 3 during the time. This is when Iraq, with the whole everything was going on, war. They had divers underneath the boat 24 hours monitoring, just to make sure that nothing would go down. Like, that's how we were living on a boat, dude. Like, and then they want you to go out there, casino action. It was no, like, no life. It was like just the boat food and these cabins, that's it.
But, you know, Larry Brown, I think during that time, you know, I think he was in a space trying to prove himself. And, you know, we just didn't play. We didn't, we, we didn't play to win. We played like we was trying to do our best to finish this and go home.
"Was you considering Queen Mary?" Am, why you laughing?
I'm laughing. I'm laughing because that's, I know what the [ __ ] was going. I know, I know the [ __ ] that I take from that, but I also know the [ __ ] that he was dealing with. I don't even want to go in and talk about it. I was the whipping boy. Cuz, right? Cuz, dude, I was the real whipping boy. Like, I'm going to pick on him. Like, I was that dude. They picked the side. I got him. You got him. Anyway, that was it.
I'mma leave it at this, cuz I gotta go. But I'mma leave it at this. Gotta go. It was good for basketball globally. We lost in 2004. It was good for basketball globally that we didn't win. Okay? And then the Redeem Team. I was the, they going to call a, we Redeem Team. I was like, "Oh, there we go." Y'all got everybody. Oh, all of us said was, "Oh, all of us is going to play out." Was playing? Wait. I was like, "Oh, look at this." Oh, and then you got to go get a college coach. You got to go get Coach G. Really? You get a guy who really do this? Like, college is fevera, basically. College is fever rule. So you go get a guy. And then they got time to practice and they all together. I was like, "Oh, we, we was going together two weeks." And and Jav weeks. Listen, chicken, man. Listen, man. Just one last. I tell you, you know, I tell you like this. If you got a Super Bowl halftime show, I guarantee you they not gonna start prepping a month before the. I'm just gonna leave it at that. All right. I don't think Jay gonna go out like that. Jay, man, not doing it like that. No, no way. No way. Going for St is crazy.
