In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Louisa used the old scholastic expression "in actu" to convey the timelessness of Jesus' acts and sufferings on behalf of all creatures. By this, she intends that human beings' participation in Jesus' interior life and sufferings are present, concurrent, and concomitant within each one of our acts, especially during Lent, whereby we repeat His life in us, recover His likeness, and filling ourselves with God, communicate to all generations the infinite value, merits, and the effects of His passion.
Consider the following passage taken from October 24, 1925: "Jesus reveals to Luisa: 'To repeat in the soul My passion in actu is different from one who only thinks about but My pains and pities them. The former is an act of My own life in the Divine Will that the soul accomplishes, which takes My place and repeats My pains. Therefore, I feel requited for the effects and the value of My Divine Life. The latter, in thinking of My pains and pitying them, permits Me to experience only the soul's company. But do you know in whom I may repeat the pains of My passion in actu? In the soul who possesses My Will, has the center of its life. My Will alone is one act without succession of acts. The single act is as though fixed to one point which never moves, and this point is eternity. Now, the soul who lives in My Will possesses this single act, and there is no wonder that it takes part in the pains of My passion as if they were in actu.'"
Or consider the next passage taken from Volume 11, October 1914, where Jesus reveals to Luisa how His humanity lived in the Father's eternal Will and, in so doing, embraced the divine acts of all humans.
"Jesus reveals to Luisa: 'These hours are the most precious of all these hours of My passion because they are precisely the reenactment of what I did in the course of My mortal life and what I continue to do in the Most Blessed Sacrament. When I hear these hours of My passion, I hear My own voice, My own prayers. In that soul, I see My Will that is wanting the good of all and making reparation for all, and I feel drawn to dwell in it, to be able to do what the soul itself does within its interior. Oh, how I would love that even one single soul for each town did these hours of My passion, so I would hear Myself in each town, and My justice, greatly indignant during these times, would be placated in part.'"
So you see the power of these hours of the passion. They mitigate God's wrath, avert calamities, chastisements, plagues, you name it. And as the soul assimilates itself to Jesus' passion, it progressively embraces all creatures of all centuries.
This is found in Volume 14, October 19th, 1922, and Volume 12, July 4th, 1917. And the soul assimilates itself to Jesus' passion, progressively embracing all creatures of all centuries by by locating itself in creation and then, so doing, restoring creation to that unity, that primordial integrity it once enjoyed before sin. Here are the so-called redeems under the action of the Holy Spirit, who's operating within the soul as well as Christ and the Father. All three Persons are operating in the soul, respectively, through the intellect, memory, and will. The so-called redeems with Christ, with His own Divine Will, in an eternal dimension between heaven and earth that embraces all creatures of the past, present, and future.
Jesus reveals to Luisa in Volume 12, June 10th, 1920, that the soul is in between heaven and earth, and this eternal dimension that impacts all creatures of all time, past, present, future. And inasmuch as the soul willingly, in the state of grace and with the right intention, desires to offer God reparation and to help other souls by averting His wrath and evil, even through the coronavirus, which is an evil, by the way. And evil, by the way, can only come from rational beings. Evil does not come from irrational beings. God begins to work in our world only by our will, our right intention, and our living in the state of grace. Is God able to now bring about good and fight evil in this world of ours, of which He made Adam and Eve, the first parents, from which we came?
The crowns meditation on the hours of Jesus' passion brings with it also benefits. In Volume 11, October 13th, 1916, we find that Jesus tells Luisa: "The sinner who meditates on these hours will turn to God. The imperfect will become perfect. The saints will become holier. Those who are tempted will find victory. Those who are ill, sick, will discover strength, into medicine and comfort." Through the meditation of these hours, the soul attains the grace of strength to overcome all weakness.
Found in the same passage, October 21st, 1921: "And there is not a soul who enters Purgatory without carrying the mark of the hours of the passion," Jesus tells us. "Nor is there a soul who enters Heaven without being accompanied by these powers of the passion." And if the soul's domestic obligations do not allow it to continuously and attentively meditate these hours, it may substitute the disposition of its good will with that of Jesus to continuously meditate them and to intercede for the salvation, salvation of all souls.
This is found in Volume 11, October 1914. And also in the reflections by Saint Annibale Francia on the hours of the passion. On October 1914, Luisa relates: "I was writing the hours of the passion and thought to myself, 'How many sacrifices it has cost me to write these blessed hours of the passion, especially to write down on paper certain interior acts that had passed only between me and Jesus. What reward will He give to me?'" Letting me hear His sweet and tender voice. And Jesus said to me: "My daughter, as a reward for having written the hours of My passion, for each word you have written, I will give you a kiss, a soul, and I, My love."
"This is for me. But what will you give to those who will meditate on these hours?" And Jesus replied: "If they meditate on these hours together with Me and with My own Will, I will give them a soul for each word they recite." Now, isn't that powerful?
God will give the meditator, the person who contemplates these hours with God's own Will, that is, in the state of grace, intending to do good, okay, so for each word they respect. Now, what does that mean? It means two things: one, save a soul from hell, and or two, convert the soul and therefore keep it from hell.
Another time, when Luisa was complaining to Jesus, and by the way, Luisa did do that from time to time. I mean, she was Italian, after all. So am I. You know, and Italians tend to be expressive, colorful, full of life, and sometimes full of complaints, right? And Luisa, one time, was complaining to Jesus because after so many sacrifices and writing these hours, very few souls were reading them. And Jesus came to her and said: "My daughter, do not complain. Even if there were but one soul, you should be happy. But I have not suffered My whole passion, even if only one soul were saved. It is the same for you. One should never omit good because a few avail themselves of it. But all harm awaits those who do not take advantage of it. And just as My passion made My humanity acquire the merit as if all were saved, as My Will was to save everyone, although not all are saved, I received merit according to what I desire to accomplish and not according to the profit souls withdraw from it. The same applies to you. You will be rewarded according to how your Will was united with My Will in wanting to do good for all."
