There is a kind of knowledge that feels true, looks true, and sounds true, and it is quietly destroying your faith. Kenyon called it sense knowledge, and most believers were never warned about it.
You have prayed over that situation again and again. You have stood on the word. You have confessed the promises, and still, every morning, the first thing you do is look for evidence with your five physical senses. And what those senses report back becomes the verdict you live under. The pain says it is not working. The bank statement says nothing has changed. The doctor's report says it is getting worse. And slowly, quietly, without even realizing it, you have allowed your five senses to become the Supreme Court of your life, overruling the word of God at every turn.
This is sense knowledge, and Kenyon identified it as the single greatest enemy of faith that has ever existed inside the church. Not the devil. Not sin. Not doubt. Sense knowledge. The habit of governing your spiritual life by the report of your five physical senses is what robs believers of their inheritance more thoroughly than any demonic attack ever could.
Here is what is shocking about it. Sense knowledge does not feel like unbelief. It feels like wisdom. It feels like honesty. It feels like being a responsible adult when your senses deliver their report. They sound completely credible. They carry the weight of tangible, touchable, verifiable evidence. And so most believers never question them. They simply receive the sense knowledge report as reality. And they adjust their faith accordingly.
But the word of God does not adjust. The word does not revise. The word does not update its position based on what your body is currently feeling. And that is precisely why sense knowledge and real faith cannot occupy the same throne at the same time.
What you are about to discover in this teaching will challenge the way you have processed reality for your entire Christian life. Before we go any further, I want to ask you this. Have you ever found yourself in a moment where you believed the word with your mind, but your body, your emotions, and your circumstances were all screaming something different? Let us go into the word together. Second Corinthians 5:7 says, "For we walk by faith, not by sight." Four words. Not by sight. Not by the visible. Not by the tangible. Not by what the five physical senses can verify and report. Paul did not write those words as an abstract theological principle. He wrote them as a governing law for daily Christian life. Walking is not a special occasion activity. Walking is what you do every moment of every day. And Paul is saying that the entire orientation of the believer's life must be governed by something other than what the natural senses can perceive.
Now consider what Paul also wrote in Romans 10:17. "So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God." The word translated "word" in this verse is the Greek word rhema, which carries the meaning of a spoken living utterance. It is not merely written text on a page. It is the living voice of God. The active immediate present tense speaking of the Father to the recreated human spirit. Faith does not come by seeing. Faith does not come by feeling. Faith does not come by touching or tasting or smelling. Faith comes by hearing the rhema, the God-breathed utterance of His covenant truth.
Do you see the collision here? Your five physical senses are tuned to receive one frequency. They are built to receive the signal of the natural world, the visible material realm. But faith is tuned to an entirely different frequency. Faith receives from the spirit realm, the unseen eternal realm where God's word lives and reigns as the supreme reality. And the tragedy is this, you can only tune to one frequency at a time. The station that is turned up the loudest is the one that is going to govern your life.
Kenyon identified two distinct and opposing systems of knowledge. He called them sense knowledge and revelation knowledge. These are not two flavors of the same thing. These are two completely different sources, two completely different authorities, two completely different kingdoms.
Sense knowledge originates in the physical world and travels inward. It begins with what the eye sees, the ear hears, the hand touches, and it builds a case, assembles evidence, and renders a verdict. It is the method of the scientist, the journalist, the lawyer who demands proof before he believes. And in the natural world, this is entirely appropriate. It is wise. It keeps you from walking into traffic. It is the operating system of the unredeemed human being.
But revelation knowledge works in the exact opposite direction. It originates in the throne room of God, travels through the written word and the indwelling spirit, and lands in the recreated human spirit as an unshakable certainty. And then, from that place of spirit certainty, it moves outward to transform the physical world. Revelation knowledge does not wait for the physical evidence to change before it believes. It believes first. It declares first. It stands on the finished work of Christ before the body stops hurting, before the bank account fills up, before the circumstances shift. And because it believes before it sees, it is able to receive the impossible.
In 1 Corinthians 2:14, Paul draws the line clearly. "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." The natural man is the sense-ruled man. He He receives the things of God. Not because God is withholding them. Not because the door is barred. But because he is using the wrong instrument. He is trying to receive spiritual reality with physical sensors. It is like trying to hear a radio broadcast with your eyes. The equipment simply does not match the signal.
And this is the devastating problem that Kenyon identified in the modern church. You are born again. Your spirit has been recreated. You are a new creation in Christ. You have the life of God. The very nature of the Father deposited in your spirit. But your mind, your emotional responses, your habits of perception, all of it is still running on the old operating system. You are a new creation trying to navigate life with sense knowledge software that belongs to the old man who no longer exists.
Kenyon wrote with piercing clarity about this very conflict. He said that the senses have always been a traitor to the spirit. Your senses will tell you that God is far away when he is actually living inside you. Your senses will tell you that you are sick when the word declares you healed. Your senses will report the circumstances as permanent when the word declares every situation subject to change at the command of a believing heart. The senses do not lie maliciously. They simply report what they were built to report. But when you give them authority over your spirit, when you allow the physical report to override the spiritual reality, you have just handed the controls of your life to the weakest, most limited, most easily deceived part of your being.
Picture a courtroom. On one side stands the prosecution. And his witnesses are your five senses. The pain takes the stand and testifies. "I have been here for 3 years." The medical report testifies. "The condition is progressing." The bank account testifies. "There is not enough." >> [snorts] >> Each witness is credible. Each one points to a stack of evidence that is undeniable. The jury of your emotions is moved. And if that courtroom is the only court that matters, the verdict is devastating.
But there is another courtroom. It is higher. It is eternal. It is the court of heaven's covenant. And in that court, a different witness takes the stand. Isaiah 53:5 declares, "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." That word "healed" in the original Hebrew is rapha. And it means to mend. To cure. To repair what was broken. Not to promise a future healing. Not to create the possibility of healing. The substitution happened. The stripes fell on his body so they would not have to fall on yours. And that verdict was rendered 2,000 years ago in the court of heaven's covenant. The judge has already delivered the verdict. The gavel has fallen. The case is closed. Every sin, every sickness, every curse that was your inheritance has been transferred to the body of the Son of God at the cross.
1 Peter 2:24 confirms it. "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." Past tense. Were healed. The transaction is complete. The debt is paid. The healing has been purchased. The prosecution still wants to present its evidence. Pain still wants to take the stand. The symptoms still want to testify. But you have the verdict in your hand. The judge has signed it. The blood of Jesus sealed it. And your job is not to argue with the prosecution's witnesses. Your job is to enforce the verdict of the higher court.
Now, imagine a man holding a title deed to a piece of land. The title deed is legal. It is notarized. It is binding. It carries the full authority of the state. But someone else is squatting on that land. Someone else has moved their belongings in. Put up a fence. And is living there as if they own the place. The man with the title deed does not question whether the land belongs to him. The document in his hand settles that question. What he must do is exercise the authority the title deed gives him and remove the squatter. Sense knowledge says, "But I can see the squatter with my own eyes. I can see the fence. I can see the belongings." Revelation knowledge says, "That does not change what this document declares." And that is precisely how the word of God functions in your hands. Sickness, fear, lack, bondage. Every one of these is a squatter on land that belongs to you by covenant. The title deed was purchased with blood, and your job is not to beg the squatter to leave. Your job is to enforce the document.
Kenyon taught this with the kind of precision that cuts through every religious fog. He wrote that the man who lives in sense knowledge is always at the mercy of circumstances. He is blown about by every wind of adversity. He wakes up strong on good days and collapses on bad days. His spiritual life is hostage to his physical environment. But the man who has moved into revelation knowledge has found an anchor that holds in every storm. He is not moved by what he sees. He is not shaken by what he feels. He is governed by what the word declares. And the word never changes.
You may be asking, "But what about my honesty? I cannot ignore what I am experiencing. Is it not dishonest to confess healing when I still feel pain? Is it not presumptuous to declare provision when the bills are piling up?" This question reveals the deepest deception of sense knowledge, which is the belief that the physical report is more real than the spiritual reality. But let me ask you something. When you received Christ as your savior, did you wait to feel saved before you believed you were saved? When the word declared that you were forgiven, did you demand that the guilt leave your emotional experience before you accepted the truth? No. You took the word by faith. You said, "It is written. Therefore, it is true. Therefore, it is mine." Healing is no different. Provision is no different. Peace is no different. Authority over the enemy is no different. Every covenant right you have in Christ was received by faith in the word. Not by waiting for the physical reality to confirm itself through your senses.
Here is what changes when this revelation grips you. Your prayers change. You stop pleading and you start declaring. You stop saying, "God, please heal me." And you start saying, "Father, I thank you that by his stripes I am healed. The redemption is complete. The transaction is finished. I receive my healing now by faith in the blood of Jesus." You stop begging and you start acknowledging what the covenant has already secured.
Your confession changes. The words that come out of your mouth begin to align with the word of God rather than with the sense knowledge report. And that matters enormously. Because Mark 11:23 establishes that what you say with your mouth, rooted in what you believe in your heart, is what will come to pass in your world.
Your sense of identity changes. You stop identifying with the weakness the senses report and you start identifying with the truth the word declares. You are not a sick person believing for healing. You are a healed person enforcing your covenant right over a rebellious symptom. You are not a defeated believer hoping things will improve. You are a victor already. Seated with Christ in heavenly places, exercising the dominion that was restored to you at the new birth.
Speak these words aloud right now, because the confession of your mouth is not a decoration on top of faith. It is an instrument of faith. Say this, "By his stripes, I am healed. The word of God is the final authority over my body. I do not walk by what I see or feel. I walk by faith in the living word of the living God." Say this, "I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I have legal access to every covenant promise. The blood of Jesus has secured my inheritance, and I receive it now by faith." Say this, "I am not moved by what I see. I am not moved by what I feel. I am moved only by what the word of God declares. And the word declares me free."
Those are not empty words. Those are covenant declarations. Those are the utterances of a new creation who has made the word of God the supreme court of their life.
Now, understand something. The enemy knows this truth better than most believers do. He knows that the moment you shift your authority from sense knowledge to revelation knowledge, you become genuinely dangerous to his kingdom. He cannot defeat a believer who refuses to govern their life by the sense report. He cannot hold a man or woman in bondage who has made the word of God the only verdict that matters. And so, his primary strategy is to keep you addicted to sense knowledge. He amplifies the symptoms. He magnifies the circumstances. He makes the physical evidence feel overwhelming, undeniable, and final. He wants you so focused on what your eyes can see and your body can feel that you never look at what the word has already declared.
Colossians 2:15 says of Christ on the cross, "And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it." The triumph is not coming. It is not pending. It is not contingent on your circumstances looking better. The triumph is past tense. A completed, celebrated, publicly declared victory that happened at the cross and was confirmed at the resurrection. The enemy has been stripped of authority. He operates today entirely through deception, through the sense knowledge report that makes his defeated position appear strong.
And Revelation 12:11 tells us how the believer overcomes, "And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony." The blood provides the legal foundation. Your testimony, what you say, what you declare, what you confess, is the instrument by which that legal reality becomes your experiential reality.
Stop waiting for your circumstances to change before you enforce the verdict. Stop waiting for the pain to leave before you declare the healing. Stop waiting for the situation to improve before you confess the provision. The verdict was rendered 2,000 years ago. The title deed is in your hand. Begin to enforce it.
When your body screams a sense knowledge report this week, do not receive that report as final. Hold it up against the word and say, "I see what you are saying, but I have a higher court. And the higher court has already ruled." When fear rises with its sense knowledge evidence that things will not work out, cast it down. Bring it into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Let the word interrogate the fear. Let the word be louder than the feeling.
And yet, this is only the beginning of what Kenyon called the liberation of the recreated spirit. Because there is another layer to this truth. A dimension of revelation knowledge that most believers have never been taught. One that explains why some who know this doctrine intellectually are still living beneath their covenant rights. It has to do with the difference between mental assent and spirit revelation. Between the words stored in the mind and the word that has been truly born in the heart. Without understanding that distinction, sense knowledge will continue to reassert its dominance even in believers who are familiar with this teaching. The difference between a man who confesses the word and a man who truly walks in its power lies entirely in what we have not yet uncovered. That is what we will go into next.
What you have received in this teaching is foundational and transformational. Sense knowledge, the system of governing your life by the report of your five physical senses, is the primary weapon the enemy uses to keep believers living beneath their covenant rights. The word of God operates in a different realm entirely. And it declares realities that your senses cannot yet perceive. Two kinds of knowledge are at war inside every believer. The sense knowledge report and the revelation knowledge reality of the finished work of Christ. When you anchor your faith to the word rather than the symptom, to the verdict rather than the evidence, to the title deed rather than the squatter, everything changes. Your prayers become declarations. Your confessions become weapons. Your identity becomes the new creation reality the word says you are. Enforce the verdict. Walk by faith, not by sight.
