Transits of the planets through the fourth house

So we're continuing our transits course, uh, talking about the transiting planets through the houses. And we ended on the third house, and so we will pick up at the fourth.

So, starting with the transits of the Sun, um, we talked last time about, uh, what the transits of the Sun bring, and all the other planets through the first through the third houses, and talked about the charisma of the Sun. So, the talent, the vitality, the self-expression, enjoyment, playfulness, parties, ego. These, these are all things symbolized by transits of the Sun. Uh, the types of experiences that, that we can have. Um, the Sun is more minor in, uh, what it will bring us. It, uh, is definitely not a long-term influence. Does tend to be something that's a trigger for other long-term influences. Sun coming through the fourth house. So, this is the area of life where we have our close surroundings. Now, we have close surroundings in the third, but not as close as in the fourth. The surroundings in the third are our immediate environment that encompasses things outside the home as well. The fourth house is things that are very, very much within the home. Not only within the home, but very close to us, close to home. Things that are in the third are within the immediacy of our, uh, our town or of our state or, um, no, I would say it's a bit more local than that. It is within the, uh, the place that we commonly traverse and travel within. So, um, as the Sun goes through the fourth house, we are going to have things related to, uh, how we feel about ourselves and our self-image, our confidence, and home, close surroundings, places of support, close family systems, circuits of stability, uh, family relationships of all kinds. Our coping skills are found in the environment of the fourth house. This is where we develop our very earliest abilities to soothe ourselves. So, when the Sun travels through the fourth house, it's a very interesting time, and it's going to be fun to talk about the transits of the Sun's very specifically through the houses because it spends about a month in each house. So, we have about, uh, a month, um, uh, where we have our experiences very much colored by the Sun. That's going to be fun to really talk about the details of it. But there's a, uh, an archetype of the daddy coming into the area of the mommy when we have the Sun going through the fourth house. We also have that same kind of experience when we have Saturn going through the fourth house as well. So, we can be more focused on during that particular time, more focused on how we are relating within the people of our immediate environment, how we're relating to them, and how does that make us feel about ourselves? How is our own self-image really reflected in the people that we're surrounded by? How is our creativity proliferating or not within the home? And this can be an intense time when we're dealing with children because we have the planet of children coming into the home environment. So, these can be peak times during the year when we are relating to our children.

Oh, Kate, I'm glad you made it in. I did. So, um, our habitual emotional patterns are also something. Anytime a planet comes into the fourth house, that area of life can be changed or perturbed. So, we can find a different way of relating to ourselves when the Sun goes through that fourth house. Sometimes we can see something about ourselves because it's going through what's traditionally a watery environment. So, not the most consequential transit, but, uh, that's going to be a lot of fun to talk about those Sun transits, the nuances of them when we get there.

Uh, the Moon going through the fourth house. This is the place where the Moon is supposed to be, and it is not a, it is a very, very short transit, uh, whichever house or environment the Moon happens to find itself in. But, um, we can feel at home during those hours, during those days that the Moon is within that area of life. So, there can be less, less feeling pulled in different directions. A lot of people look forward to the Moon transiting through their fourth house. They feel that there's a comfort and ease of writing ourselves, writing ourselves, because the Moon, it's a water planet. Think about the choppy waters of the ocean. The Moon seeks to have placidity, to have the ocean really as smooth as glass. Doesn't happen very often because that's not the nature of feelings, is it? They're very much peaks, just like waves, peaks and valleys, just like waves. Everything is actually waves and particles and fields. So, it's a simple transit as the Moon is transiting through the fourth house.

And let's pick, I'm trying to look at my note on Mercury. Uh, Mercury, uh, so these are the specific experiences of immediacy, of travel, transit, health, communication, dealing with our siblings, news, current events, work, co-workers, routines, daily habits. And we have work, routines, co-workers found within the third and the sixth house environment. Uh, they're slightly different in how we deal with those people in those environments. Our routines within the third house tend to be more multitasking, and they tend to be more, you know, related to Mercury. Routines are more run about. They're, what are we doing on a daily basis? Uh, the sixth house is more ordered things. So, Mercury coming into a fourth house environment, we're bringing that busyness, that running in different places, doing different things, oftentimes experiencing some amount of busyness or mindlessness or lack of, lack of cohesiveness, depends on what we have going on that day, coming into that fourth house environment.

Um, more experiences of miscommunication, possibly enhanced communication. We can have both things occurring. It depends on what our per, what is going on in our life at that time, and is Mercury retrograde, and is it contacting a personal planet where we naturally can experience difficulties in that? That can definitely show up. But in general, there is more communication with the people around us in our very, very close environment, and it can be more intimate as well. It can be things surrounding feelings, things surrounding problems, things surrounding sensitive issues. If we have a naturally insensitive aspect, and then we have Mercury coming into this area, it can, of course, bring up that natal tendency, and maybe we'll experience some, some backlash or consequences related to that insensitivity. But for a lot of people, it can really open up conversation.

Uh, Mars, Venus coming into the fourth house environment. So, the experiences of romance, love, affection, desire, art, self-esteem, income, material security, beauty appreciation, sometimes dating, social gatherings that can occur with Venus. Because Venus is how we seek to relate, it's one of the relating planets. So, coming into our close surroundings, this is a pretty lovely place for Venus to transit. There's, uh, some pretty, um, homey experiences that can come. We can develop our relationships in the context of, uh, intimacy and enhance the relationships with the people around us. We may beautify our home environment. There can be a, a very soothing relationship between Venus and the fourth house. So, our, uh, experiences related to security on two levels are in the works, are happening when we have Venus transiting the fourth. Because we have material security, which is a lot of our Venus experiences, and we have our emotional security. So, we have that, uh, that overlay of possibility where we can find our emotional security can be either enhanced or detracted, depending on what the transit is from our experience of physical security. Kind of like that feeling where, um, a lot, a few years ago, when I learned how to can food, and there's a lot of ways that you can can food these days. It's not like it used to be in the '70s with the dangerous pressure cooker and the boiling water. It's just, it was a mess. It was a lot going on. It was very difficult and sometimes unsafe. There's a lot of technology that's gone into food preservation over the last 30 years since I was helping my mother in the kitchen. Dangerous process. So, when I figured this out, I really got good at it. It brought this, a sense of security. And also, when I, I got really good at gardening, and also brought the sense of just permanent security because I know that if the world explodes around me, I have the knowledge and the skills and the ability to have a crop in 60 days in any environment, anywhere I am. I can take, I can MacGyver some soil together in any conditions. So, it brings the sense of safety. And, uh, that's what we can achieve experiences like that with Venus going through the third, where we can have something physical in our life. We have something that we can discover, you know, brings a sense of value to us in the realm of emotional safety. Uh, we can, um, experience more loving feelings. That's more vulnerability for a time while Venus goes to this particular area of life.

Mars going through the fourth house. Well, Mars is naturally tr, square to this environment. Yes, Mars is kind of a brutal dude, and he's coming into, uh, the environment where we are really looking for security and safety and, and, uh, softness. This is not a brutal environment. So, I have experiences of confrontation or anger, aggression, initiative, assertiveness, impulsiveness, nervousness, and immediate gratification. That is a Mars thing. That's all coming into a area of life where we can, um, we can have some very important experiences regarding boundaries, regarding, um, standing up for ourselves. It's a period of time where we can have confrontation within our most, uh, protective relationships, our most important closest relationships. So, there can be some consequential goings-on because now we're getting into the slower moving planets. Mars is not the slowest dude. He's, he's going to spend a little bit of time in one house. This is not one of the outer outer planets where he's in there for months and months and months, but there is enough time to experience some of these events as I, yes, as particularly pivotal. Now, Mars is often the trigger, however, for other larger, more consequential or pivotal events. But on its own, a Mars transit through a house is something that then we can go back and, and, and we can notice. It's, it's not as fly by night as the other inner planets where they could be just simply as consequential as we may, uh, go shopping that day. Oh, whoopty-doo. Let's go ask an astrologer about that. Pay some money. It's the outer planets there that really matter when it comes to the big, big changes. But Mars is something that's kind of in the middle there. We can have some significant confrontations. We can have some significant realizations. But, um, the, uh, immediate gratification that we can experience may be a hindrance to some of our relationships in that environment. It depends on what Mars is contacting, what is it that, uh, we are learning through as individuals? That was our natal chart being set off.

Let's look at the transit of Jupiter through the fourth house. So, these are experiences of growth, gratitude, often excess when Jupiter transits a house, uh, expansion, luck, benefit, faith, optimism. Sometimes we can experience, uh, overdoing it, increase. The Jupiter's full hot air. So, sometimes that hot air is helpful for us because it can fill our balloon, and we need that balloon. That's our optimism that keeps us afloat because humans have abstract thinking. We need hope. We're aware of our death. We're aware of the end. We're aware of things that, to our knowledge, other animals aren't aware of. They may have infinite awareness that we're not aware of. I can't really comment on that. But as far as we see, we're the only ones that have a really, really complex language. Although I would argue that whales, I could argue that whales have that going on too, and dolphins. Yeah, yeah, dolphin. Uh, there's a few species that I think have things going on that we just, we just can't know. Uh, possibly elephants. But we're the only ones that speak words. Katie, octopus. Yes, there we are. Possibly the second most intelligent animal on Earth next to humans. Uh, so we speak words and we have, uh, abstract thinking. And with that comes this need for hope and optimism. We can't live without it, or we just collapse under the weight of reality and being aware of reality and of time, then of finite things. We need hope. So, Jupiter, you know, puts hot air in our hot air balloon, and sometimes that takes us up where we need to be. Sometimes that elevates us, and sometimes it takes us past where we should be. It takes us into territory, well, it takes us into territory where it's too much hot air. Um, and Jupiter is also a social identity as well. I actually put up a very simple post on Instagram today that got a lot of attention. I was very, very shocked by that. I just pointed out that Mars is the primitive identity. So, Mars is the id. We talk about that a lot. The Sun is the more conscious identity, the, you know, what we want to be, what we want other people to see us as. Uh, yeah, a lot of the, the core way that we think ourselves up is very much the Sun. And then Jupiter is the superego. So, we have the id, ego, the or identity ego, and then the superego. So, we have the superego coming through the fourth house. This is not a bad place for Jupiter to transit. Jupiter often is going to bring a comfort. I'll oftentimes bring a new meaning to a new area of life. We can give new meaning to the past when Jupiter comes through the fourth house. This is a, a lengthier transit where we can have a year where Jupiter is going to work on us, and we can oftentimes feel that, that's the experiences of the fourth house. Feel that we have more faith, a lot more optimism. We can trust life. Our family relationships can do better. We can feel that there's a growth in the area of life where we are really, um, we are dependent. So, we can have growth where we want more safety, more security, more connection. Families can grow. This can often be a time of pregnancy or delivery. It's, it's a pretty pleasant transit for most people.

The transits of Saturn through the fourth house. Let's talk about that. So, this is direction, consequences, experiences of karma, consequences, responsibility, maturity, streamlining, prioritizing, success or failure. This is an extremely consequential, consequential transit. And, um, this is a huge one when it comes to re-uh, focusing our inner life, particularly as Saturn crosses the fourth house cusp. This is potentially one of the most shattering and restructuring transits we can have. Pluto crossing the cusp of the fourth house is also a doozy, but Saturn is something we all get. We may not always get a Pluto transit, 2MH. Some of us can go our whole lives without having a major Pluto trans. So, we can have a minor one, but we can get off the hook. So, most of us are going to get eaten alive at some point and hopefully come out the other side. So, this standard transits the fourth house cusp, and we should probably have a lesson about this. Uh, well, we will. I'll be adding some lessons to the syllabus as we go along, uh, because it's such a deeply, deeply consequential transit. As it transits the fourth house cusp, it's like the scaffolding in our life, or the, the foundation of our house, or the, the bone structure in our body that collapses at that point. Now, that collapse can be worse for some people than others. So, it's like the rug is pulled out from our house, or like you have, you know, you see the magicians, or they have the table set and pull the tablecloth out from under it. If you have a really, really bad Saturn transit to the cusp of the fourth house, that silverware and that tableware ain't gonna land where it was before. But if it's not as bad transit of Saturn to the fourth house cusp or through the fourth house, then we can have that tablecloth ripped out from under us, but have things land relatively where they were. Not going to be exactly where they were, could be relatively where they were. So, there's a process of rebuilding that happens, resetting the table. So, for some people, Saturn, uh, they don't have as much, um, we could say rebuilding to do because they have been making more choices instead of decisions. We've been pursuing a life that's of our own making. If that's something we've been struggling with, and, um, we have a significant Saturn lesson to learn in that area of life, that's about taking care of ourselves. With Saturn comes through, this is what we're learning: how to take care of ourselves, how to support ourselves, how to better support the people around us, how to parent ourselves. Sometimes it brings a divorce or separation from the people in our life that are closest to us. That's not the case for everybody, but if that's something that needs to happen, that is very likely to happen. It could also be a test, a significant test in any relationship. It will be a significant test of the integrity of those bonds, the integrity of our foundation that we've built for ourselves.

A Kenya, I said it right. You sure did. Uh, no, I, I had a, I had a thought, but I feel like you kind of, uh, explained when you were talking about the rug being pulled out from underneath us, or, you know, the foundation, uh, having to address that. It actually made me think of a Uranian fourth house transit. But I, I understand what you were saying in terms of if you don't have a solid foundation, it's something you have to address. And if, and if you do, then it's not, you know, going to be as necessarily destructive as a transit. And I'm, I, I would imagine how Saturn is aspected would also play a part in what it's aspecting in chart too. Right, right. And what have we learned so far? You know, if we, if we have been getting the lesson, if we have been breaking out, then that Saturn transit, uh, may be significantly better, say, than it was the last time it came, right? We could be not as destructive. Yeah. Do you have any tips on how people can deal with that? I mean, I don't have that transit right now, thankfully, but that sounds like a really big deal. Yeah. You know, maybe I'll do a webinar on this, and I'll, uh, I'll let you guys know. I'll just send you the link to it. Let me write that down. I think that would actually be something that would be, I'm going to write that down right now. Is that like the entire foundation of your life, like gets pulled out from under you? Oh, it's huge. It's absolutely huge. Yeah. This was one of the most, uh, consequential and painful transits I've had in my life when Saturn crossed the cusp of the fourth. Then it also, at that same time, um, well, not at that same time, but within that, the same general amount of lifetime, had transited my Moon previous to that, which is also something that is very similar to having Saturn transit at the cusp of the fourth house. If it's more specific behaviors related to how we support, uh, our selves, the kind of nurturing that we're looking for. It, it really, that's a different animal. We're going to talk to that when we get to the Saturn module, but it's huge. Or the IC, right? The IC, yeah. Uh, the Moon is naturally the ruler of the IC. They have the same, uh, they have the same territory. But the Moon is not the fourth house. The Moon is the action of the fourth. So, the Moon is more specific to our, um, um, the behaviors related to feelings. And the Moon, the fourth house is a broader environment where we can have a Saturn working on an entire area of life. Yes, it's going to affect our feelings, our moods, uh, the Moon's stuff. That is going to be like the Moon itself, that is going to be rocked by a fourth house transit, even though Saturn is not transiting the Moon itself. The Moon is in relationship to all of the things happening in that area of life. So, Saturn is working on environments, territories of meaning as he's going through a house. When he transits a planet, he is working on a specific behavior and motivation. It is a more specific thing. When a planet is transited by another planet, it's a broader thing when a planet transits an environment. And I, I see more broader sweeping experiences and changing, uh, changes as planets go through environments, houses, and more specific events. Um, because I know you use equal house, and, you know, there are plenty of house systems where the IC, which we tend to associate with the cusp of the fourth house, is not in the fourth house. Uh, so, would you, as we're talking about things transiting in the fourth house, especially things coming into the fourth house, would you apply everything we're learning into this? Yes, absolutely. But once it transits the IC, no matter where it is, that's the crescendo. So, look at it like a note where, as it's going through the fourth house, those things are happening, that, no, it's being sung. But as it gets to the cusp, I guess that IC, that's the crescendo. That's the peak of those experiences because everything is waves, particles, and fields. What if trying to see there's very much waves? That's why we see that retrograde forward motions, waves that we learn through. What if the IC is before the fourth house? It does not. Then we have the crescendo with God. That's kind of coming out of nowhere because we have that's like when somebody just turns on a stereo out of nowhere, and then the music keeps playing, but there was no build-up to it. That can be much more jolting when we have that occur. Okay, so I am not doing well on time today. I got, uh, way off drag already. Jamie, so the IC and the fifth would be a prolonged event. That would be something where we are having all of the things happening within the context of the fourth house, and then we have the music turn off for a while, and then we get a blast when it hits the cusp of the fourth and the fifth. Happy times. Fantastic. It happens differently for all of us. What was that? It's a fantastic analogy. That's all I can think of. It's so good.

All right, so let's, uh, move on to Uranus, which is also incredibly consequential as it crosses the fourth house. This is where we have tremendous breakthroughs. Um, this is huge. Yeah, hilarity, recreation. We may not all get a, uh, transit to the fourth house. Um, I, pay off, enlightenment, disruption, sudden beginnings and endings. So, the things of the fourth house are not conducive. This is not a conducive environment to the things of Uranus. It actually is conducive to the things of Saturn, even though it's hard, because Saturn is its opposite planet. Saturn brings a lot of what we need when it had comes through the fourth house. We may not like it because these are lessons that we need to learn, and a lot of us don't want to learn our lessons because they're hard. We don't want to do things that are hard. Saturn makes us do things that are hard, but they're lasting. We take it to heart. They're, they're more lasting changes. It's like learning something for ourselves, or when you, you save up your money and you buy something, it means something to you. That's a Saturn thing, as opposed to somebody gives you money. It's like, hey, this is free money. I, I can go spend this all on hats. It doesn't mean anything to us. And we see that that all often, uh, in the experiences of people who win the lottery. That's a Uranian thing. Sudden windfalls are Uranus thing. Sudden payoffs or Uranus thing. Earned or not? You're telling me I'm not earned. What are you telling me I'ma win the lottery? [Laughter] I'm better. I don't know. It depends on the personality. It doesn't work for everybody. So, well, you've got a ton of Saturn. Probably do fine for you. Um, that's what it takes is the ability to understand what we've won because most people, the vast, vast majority of people, well over 90% of people that win riches in the lottery lose that, lose it, and it's within a five-year period of time. It's very, very quickly because they, it brings a lot of problems. Identity crisis is a big one. That's a huge problem because our identity previous to this was not centered around being a wealthy person. It's a huge issue. People don't know how to think of themselves anymore. Their heads are spinning. The issue of deserving. Some people don't feel that, that there's an inner, there's an inner problem with it. I don't deserve. So, that's a way that we may psychologically get rid of what we feel that we don't deserve. That could be an impetus for that. And the fact that we don't feel that we earned it, we don't feel like we had to work for it, we didn't have to invest anything to get that money. We'd have to do anything to get that money. It didn't require anything of us. So, it doesn't mean anything to us. It didn't take any labor to gain it. So, it's so easy to waste it. So, Uranus is that concept of that sudden gain, and things can come and go quickly with that planet. Things can disappear just as quickly as they appear. And so, we are dealing with, uh, flashes of insight with Uranus that sometimes can become permanent. Sometimes we can have a windfall that can become permanent. Sometimes we have somebody with the right personality that wins the lottery and they keep it. It's not common, but it can happen.

Stacy, did you have a question? Well, I keep thinking about the lot, the jackpot, which is like over 600 million dollars now. I think I would be so well suited for that. Gotta have a lot of Capricorn in. Yeah, I do. I do. So, yeah, yeah. This is the Sun. Yeah, just like talking about working for it or not earning it. I'm like, I'll work my whole life for that. Oh, well, there is nothing there is God attitude. There is that attitude that can often make us feel like we finally got what was coming to us. And so, that feeling that can make us hold on to things, that can make us feel we're justified in what we have. I was also surprised that this was a Uranian thing. I would have like thought of it being associated with Jupiter. But your Uranus makes sense. Uh, Jupiter, we can have opportunities that can come out of nowhere, absolutely. But with Uranus, they are broader opportunities. They are things associated with we didn't work for it. Jupiter is, uh, is something that comes more out of a sixth house environment. It's not as far from the sixth house as Uranus is. Uh, Uranus comes out of the tenth house environment. So, when we work, work, work, work, work, and then we sit down and we relax and we appreciate what's coming to us. So, I say that the 10th house. So, we, we want the house in the second house, the earth house. We make the plans for the house, and we build the house, and make the blueprints and the analysis, and get all the permits in the sixth house. And then we actually build the house in the 10th house and the 11th house. We go inside the house, and we sit down, and we drink our lemonade and enjoy what we've built. So, there's a, um, a sudden, uh, gift that can come to us in different forms with Uranus when it comes into the fourth house. We have the gift of disturbance. At the time, may not seem like something that we want. Uranus is like the Ken doll that my mom gave me when I was 10 years old. And it was a Ken doll that was like the new Ken. He had like the real hair, and his arms like, we moved, and these weird motions, and I, I didn't like that Ken doll. He was like creepy. I didn't want to play with him. But I didn't have any other Ken dolls because the dogs had eaten all the feet off the Ken dolls. So, I had to play with that Ken doll. And as I played with him, I realized, you know what? This is actually a superior Ken doll. His arms move in these different ways. Look, I can put him on top of Barbie. A lot better. I mean, it worked out beautifully. You were putting Ken on top of Barbie? If you weren't, there's something wrong with you. I didn't have anything on top of Barbie. Sorry. I put, I put Barbie on something. We all put something on top of something. Some of us have three Barbies. It just depends on who you are. So, there's a, uh, an appreciation that comes with the lesson after the fact. When it's a Uranian lesson, we realize that, oh, this gift was something that I didn't ask for. Yes, we did. I didn't ask for. But I, I think that I can live with this. It may even be something that we realize that, um, it was a type of wish fulfillment. So, um, yeah, there's a disruption that comes into the area of life where we can have a rebuilding when it comes to our family life, relationships that mean the most to us, how we can take care of ourselves. It's an extremely consequential transit, and we're going to talk more about it when we get to the transits of Uranus module.

Kate, did you have a question? And I had a comment because I have Uranus in my fourth house at the moment, and I've had some consequential experiences recently that I just wanted to share, which kind of them, they echo what what you're saying. The first thing, well, the first thing I wanted to say is, I think you said the Saturn in your fourth house was very consequential for you, and I was just going to point out that perhaps that might have been because you've got Saturn in the fourth house natally. So, I'm just, that's just something that occurred to me as you were saying that. But I just wanted to briefly share, um, I, I was on medication recently that disrupted my sleep. Okay, so that's a Moon thing. And I had a build-up of what I think of a lack of REM sleep, you know, the rapid eye movement sleep. Dead, yeah. I'd say. And I went on for nearly three weeks. And it came to a crescendo last week, and I literally was walking a fine line between reason and just craziness, you know, I'm just off that edge. And I've had a good, I've had two good nights sleep now, so I'm back, I'm back, I'm back where I should be, more or less. But, um, yeah, it's a very creative place, and I thought that some of it was being influenced by Uranus in the fourth. And I just had like, uh, there was one night I was sitting up, and I had all this explosion, I suppose, very Uranian, of insight into my own emotional patterning, the emotional patterns that you acquire in childhood, and why you behave in particular ways, and what's behind them. And I was writing down all these notes, and I was like tumbling out of me. So, for me, that, what I'm just describing to it was quite, it was like a mini breakdown to a breakthrough. Yes. Thank you for illustrating that. That is what happens when Uranus goes through the fourth, or transits the Moon as well. So, uh, and I've also got Mars square to Uranus. Mars is in Cancer natally, um, now, and, um, and it's square to Uranus. So, I don't know if that actually was there at all, but anyway. Well, we'd have to see if that were being contacted by it. No, it wasn't. It wasn't. So, I just thought because the Moon thing and Cancer being afraid. So, but, um, yeah, it was just, uh, yeah, loads and loads of insights, very, very rapidly about emotional patterning. That was what happened with me. So, yeah, huge. That is huge. You know, that that twilight zone between sleep and wake, and when we burn that candle at both ends, and we end up in that place of, uh, um, I guess it's a, it is quite kind of a twilight zone where we have a lack of, let's say, rationality, and a bulk of creativity. So, a lot of poems and songs and books have been written in that state where we aren't completely, uh, with it, and we're strung out. That's what Uranus does to us. We are strung out, and that can lead to an enormous amount of insight, similar a bit to a mushroom trip, that place where we can be in. Because in some ways, the, because we, we do have that lack of sleep, the unconscious is kind of bleeding into the conscious while we're actually awake. So, yeah, I felt, I mean, I haven't done hard drugs because I'm a sensitive, you know, my, my physiology is very sensitive, so I don't, never went there. But I, when I was having this experience, I was thinking, this must be what it's like to be on like an LSD trip. Mm-hmm. You know, and I was thinking, it is a very creative place. And, and you think of people who were in that space, like, for example, Van Gogh, for example, you know, some of our greatest artists and creative thinkers went to that space. So, I was in that for a couple of days, and it was, yeah, it was a bit scary, but it was very enlightening. But now I'm getting, I'm coming back to earth. Nice, nice. We can't remain in that space forever, or else we'll die. We have to have sleep. We absolutely have to have sleep. Uh, just about everything under the biosphere has to have sleep. Even plants, you know, horses. Um, they only require about one hour of REM sleep per day, and they have to lay down to get it. They can lock their knees and they can sleep in place, but they don't go into deep sleep. So, in the past, where, you know, horses were, you know, severe beasts of burden, and we would work them really, really hard, people wouldn't always allow that horse the room to lay down or the ability to lay down to sleep. And if a horse doesn't have that ability to lay down and get that REM sleep, they'll just all of the sudden spontaneous collapse into it and lay there for like 15 minutes and twitch. Well, they have their REM sleep, and there's nothing you can do to wake them up. Their body just takes over. So, yeah, make sure you, when you're riding the horse, they've got in their sleep. Damn.

All right, so we are not going to meet my goal of, uh, getting through everything within an hour because of who I am as a person. So, we'll just get through the fourth house today because it is an extremely consequential house, and then we'll do an add-on lesson so we can stay on point. Uh, maybe sudden air Monday, I'll take a look and announce that to everybody, and then we'll get to the fifth and the sixth at that point.

All right, so let's talk about Neptune through the fourth house. Neptune can bring insight. It can also bring delusion. It can bring experiences of scent of sensitivity, spirituality, idealism, sometimes isolation, insight, surrender. Sometimes we can deal with issues of shame, suffering, longing can be a big issue. So, Neptune will be in any one house for a long time, a long, long time, like 14 years, depending on how big your house is, because you're using like a, a time-based system, then it, it could be in there a lot longer. But for the most part, it's going to transit any one sign or house for about 14 years. So, um, it's a long time where we are going to be letting go, surrendering, learning some very, very deep lessons in the context of home, safety, environment, uh, what is, uh, nearest and dearest to us.

It's transiting an angle. When it is transiting the fourth house, when Neptune transits an angle, it's particularly consequential because these are the cornerstones of our life. So, if we have, let's look at the concept of cornerstones. They are really what the other stones rest on. So, all the stones are important. Those cornerstones, we need those because they're the primary factors in our human motivation, primary factors of our human life. The survival of the fittest or predatory instincts in the first with Aries, our need for emotional connection and our emotionality as humans. My God, do you know any other animal that's like this? We cry sometimes over nothing. Our feelings are, primary to our humanity. Our need in the seventh house with Libra for relationship for others. We are partner people. We are not a solitary species. And our need for, uh, social supremacy, for status, because we are high. I can't say it. Somebody say it for me. Yes, animals. These are our primary human motivators. And then within that, we have the other, still important, but more, we can put on the back burner kind of motivators. If we have water, shelter, fire, and a friend, we can survive. So, uh, having Neptune go through that area of life, the, um, the insight that we can see, the clarity that can come. It can be very much related to what we, uh, everything hinges on when it comes to our decision-making process and the meanings that we give to things. Because a lot of times, we mistake our emotional investment in something for what's true. And the more that we have an emotional investment, and the more that that can color our idea of what is true. So, we making some stark clarity into that really primary motivating factor, uh, behind our feelings, which is wanting to feel safe. The unknown. I was doing a thought experiment the other day. I was just, uh, laying in bed and thinking, what would it be like to not have the recording of the Moon? What would that be like? Not the memory of the Moon. That's what keeps us safe because it's our memory of what has happened. And that's everything when it comes to feeling safe because if we don't have a memory of what has happened, we can't extrapolate out into the future. We can't know what is the next step that we should take. So, I was laying in bed thinking, wouldn't that be interesting if you say, just opened your eyes and you looked up and you found yourself in an unfamiliar place? And I looked around because I was doing a thought experiment. I looked around, I thought, oh, there's rafters up here and cobwebs and looking around myself, and I'm in a hayloft. That's what am I doing in a hayloft? And I got up and looked around and realized that there was a barn beneath me, and I didn't have any memory of how I got there, or where I was, or what this place was. So, what would you do in that situation? You would be incredibly cautious. Think of how cautious you would be. You wouldn't know what was safe, what wasn't. So, if I were in that situation, I would, I think, you know, very, very carefully descend those stairs because I would, my mind would be going on all different directions. Have I been abducted? Did I somehow, uh, become drugged somewhere and I'm just waking up? Was I knocked out? Uh, you know, I couldn't think of any scenarios that wouldn't seem, uh, potentially harmful or scary. So, I'd climb down so carefully from that hayloft because I would be thinking, is this place booby-trapped? I don't know what's going on. And then I would super, super carefully look around. I would see if there's something. Is there something I can defend myself with? Because I don't know what to expect. And in a barn, there usually is. So, pick up a sharp object. And I would carefully, carefully open one of the doors and look outside. And that's really scary because you don't know. Are you safer to stay, or are you safer to go? You know where you're going. So, that led me to think, well, what would I do? Would I leave the barn? And I thought, well, first I would further investigate what was happening by hiding. That would be one option because perhaps whoever had placed me there would return, and I could hear a conversation, I could get some kind of bearing. The Moon is our bearing at that point. I would know, okay, I have to stay hidden, or I can come out later, or, hey, that's my cousin there talking about where a drunk jewel go. I can just come out. I would have information at that point. So, that would be terrifying to open that door, and you would not know which direction to go. Where do you set out? Are the neighbors safe? So, the Moon tells us what happened. Sometimes that, and oftentimes, oftentimes that keeps us safe because it tells us how to get back home. It's that record of what has happened. But there are other times that the Moon, the contents of the fourth house aren't keeping us safe from anything that we need to be kept safe from. We're just extrapolating the past out into the future. So, we have to know the difference. Sometimes our habitual emotional patterns are creating the past. They're bringing the past into the future. And that's what Uranus in the fourth house is going to upset. It's gonna make it really hard. And Neptune in the fourth house is gonna make it hard to not achieve some clarity in this area of life. We can have more disruptive clarity, sudden clarity with Uranus, but a more subtle, pervasive, sometimes humiliating clarity that comes with Neptune.

Stacy, I'm confused. Neptune brings clarity? What? Oh, absolutely, potentially. Usually on the other side of the transit. The first transit, the first part of the transit is typically totally confusing and delusional and depressing and isolating and horrifying. But the second half, we can experience the fog starting to lift. It can take a while though. Um, when it's in a house, that fog can be there for a while. But, yeah, eventually it can lift. And, you know, Neptune is, uh, you know, when we shine lights on fog or put an image on a fl, on fog, the best physical representation, visual representation of Neptune is the ride, uh, at Disneyland, the Pirates of the Caribbean. There's just one part of it that you go through, and they have the CO2 that they've, uh, they're piping down and they're projecting onto that CO2, an image of a pirate, but it like moves and morphs and has liquidity to it. That's what the images of Neptune look like in my mind. That's the best way I can describe it. They're somewhat clear, but they're somewhat distorted. And that distortion can evaporate. So, is the clarity where you see things even more clearly than you did before the Neptune fog came in? It's no, we didn't see things clearly before the fog came in, generally. We saw things the way we saw them. But there's a, a truth that we start to understand things that under, that are underlying why we needed to see things the way that we did. A lot of times, our ego is taken out of the equation. Is this a good, is this the good opportunity to make Neptune real when it shows up in the fourth house? Well, or make your ideas of what Neptune, like your, the dreams that Neptune inspires you, just, is it a good opportunity? Yes, that's what we get on the clarity side of things as things start to, um, materialize for us. So, I, we can come to a more, uh, truer, uh, truer ideal. And I guess it is what it is. And what by that, I mean, what we thought we were before, or what we thought we wanted to be, what we wanted the idea we held in our mind wasn't really based on, uh, the reality of us as a person. So, as we discover more about ourselves, those ideals we hold dear, those spiritual longings and romantic longings that we often held dear, chaste, those may morph and change, or sometimes even evaporate. So, as we become clear about who we are, our dreams become more clear. In are they really dreams? Fantasies? Are they, um, do we really want that? I guess that's what we really look at. Do we really, really want that? A lot of times, what we thought we wanted wasn't what we wanted. So, we discover who we really are and what we really want. You.
