All right, what we're going to cover right now is just some basic general information you need to know. Basically, how to get the huddle, or you line up in the huddle. We'll line up on the line of scrimmage, our splits and alignment, our snap count, who calls the snap count, how it goes with the snap count, how we call the play in the huddle, and then we'll get into our formations, the system that way.
All right, okay. All right, our huddle will be set four yards from the football. So the center will set the huddle four yards from the football. We're pretty close to the ball now, so we're only four yards back. Obviously, the right guard will be there, the right tackle will be here, left guard, left tackle. Now, these little [ __ ] ass running backs we've got, half the time they're lined up up here in front because they can't see or hear nothing. It has a wide receivers back here, tight end, tight ends in there, and full back. But that's basically how we'll set the hole. The way it was designed before the running backs, the other side like that, the wide receiver and tight end to float. The quarterback would call a play, R zone 44 on one, and the center should leave after he calls it the first time. R 44, R zone 44 on one. I hate them half-ass hooks. So the center ought to go after he calls the play and the snap count for the first time. After the snap count's called the first time, the center should leave and go up and get on the ball. He says, "Bro, place yourself right there on the ball." Send. He says, "R zone 44 on one, on one, ready to break and come out and break."
We line up. We come up. We get, get our splits and alignments. Tight end, full back, or fall back in wide enough to split and run out. Full back or work here until about work here. At the quarterback, or step aside and follow everybody up. So when we get lined up, when we get lined up, we should be up here at the line of scrimmage, four off the ball. We're off the ball. We've got our formation, our lineup, just like this.
All right, we got 18-inch splits with a guard. 18-inch splits with a guard. Your hands, your hands on the shoestrings of the center. Her hands are on the shoestring to the center. But 18-inch foot. Reason I do that, I like you to come up and if you got to put your hands on these on his shoestring, then you need to look down. When you look down, you need to check your split. We do a horseshit job of this sometimes. Some of you guys [ __ ]. 18 inches is 18 inches. All right, if you're like a furlong, you have to remember it's about the size of my [ __ ] dick. 18-inch split. All right, so we got 18-inch split right here with the guards. We got two-foot split, two-foot split with tackles. We got two-foot split with tackles. If I'm a tackle and I have a tight end beside me, I am down. So the guards are always down. You're always down in a three-point stance. The center's in a two-point stance with his hand on the ball. If I have a tight end lined up beside me as a tackle, I'm down. If I'm the right tackle, then I will line up a two-foot split and put my left toe on the guard's left. So I come up and get the squat, what we call squat. I get my left toe lined up. I get my toes turned in. I get my knees in. I work my ass. I get my goose stance and I get down right beside my guard. My toes are lined up on his toe. All right, if I have the left tackle and I'm over here on the left side and I have no tight end, I am up in a two-point stance. Let me, I am up. If I'm the left tackle, I'm up and I'm standing up in a two-point stance. I don't want a deep stagger that thing. I want a toe to heel. I want a toe to heel and I want your base kind of semi-narrow. I don't want it real wide. I don't want it real straight. I don't want all this pro [ __ ] at your, you know, your [ __ ] goddamn treyar Thomas or somebody. I want you up here balanced up. Set that back. Get in there where you can still kick back and move. Toes in and heel is step. And now the tricky part of that is is if I'm the right guard, if I'm the right guard and that's my shoe right there and you as the right left, if I'm the left or if I'm the left tackle, I've got to put my foot halfway up on his foot. I got to put my my right foot halfway up on his foot. And so I'm going to be up in front of him just a little bit with my foot. So when he gets down in his stance and I'm up in my stance, our helmets are lined up and I'm legal. So when I am in an up stance, if this, if this right here, if you can show this on it, if that right there is his left foot and I am down, I have a tight end, I'm down. I'm going to line up my left toe even with his left toe, a two-foot split. Left toes even and I get down. If I'm the left tackle, I have no tight end and I'm gonna come over here and measure half a foot up on him. I'm gonna get my foot a half a foot up on him. So I'm gonna get a two-foot split and I'm gonna put my foot up halfway. His toes going to intersect my foot halfway. And then I'm gonna get down. I'm gonna get down in my good stance right there and getting that so I'm legal and I'm up on the line of scrimmage and it works out for me on that.
Tight end should carry anywhere from a two to a three-foot split according to the play, according to what we have to do. If I am a tackle and we'll run a stretch, we'll run a stretch or whatever, I'm going to remind that tight end to do to cut your foot down, cut your split down, don't hang my ass out to dry to where I can't get over and get up on this thing. Time to cut his foot down where you can get over and help yourself on the thing. All right, so that's our splits and alignment. Or 18 inches with the guards, two feet with the tackles. 18 inches with the guards, two feet with the tackles, two to three feet with tight ends. Hands on the shoestrings of the center. And then we, we want depth off the football. That is a whole advantage to us right here. There is the football. There's the football. I don't give a [ __ ] what they do. Our defensive right there is as close as they can get to us. That's as close as they can get. They cannot be in front of that football. Right there is the closest that end can get to us. So now my center is sitting right here. Boom, boom. We've got, hit our hands on his shoestrings right there and right there. And we're really off the ball on these guys. We're really off the ball. So that guy has to come at least a good yard, yard and a half before he ever makes contact with. So now we ought to be able to emboss that. If he's a penetrator and a reader, we ought to be able to snap, stretch, and hook him up before he ever gets out of his [ __ ] stance. If he's going this way and we're going, we're stepping and coming this way, there's no way of [ __ ] he can read us and not get reached. There's no way. There's no way. Now he'd knock hell out of it, but there's no way he would not get reached. Now, if he's a reader and he's sitting back here soft because he's going to mirror us and play us up and down, well, then that's what we want because now we can take our stretch step and attack and we'll knock [ __ ] out of him. All right, so they got to give up one. But this gives us an advantage. So on drop-back pass, I don't have to sit back very far because I'm already back. I've already got y'all at the ball. You need to be more short setters and make it a confrontation happen up here on the line of scrimmage instead of dropping way back and opening the seams up. All right, so those are advantages and disadvantages to splits and alignment, but those are our splits. Those are alignments and they stay the same.
Now I want to draw a play or something like that. We may open up the splits a little bit more and go. If you see a drawing where the tackle's got this back here and that tackle's got that, that means that tackle was down. He's down. He's up in a two-point. If we lost our tight end and we went I formation, three wide receivers, then this tackle here, we still have a two-foot split, but he'd be up too. So we'd have two down guards, two down guards, two up tackles. We'd get the split-back guns, split-back shotgun. Right here, we've got two up tackles, three down guys in the middle. All right, so that's, that's the way we do the foremost my split and alignment. Okay, we understand the huddle. Center sense of football, four yards. Says to have a four yards in football. Right, come out of the huddle. All right, formation, play, snap count. All right, ready, break. Everybody hustles to the line of scrimmage. Our snap count. If it is on quick, it'll be said, "Hi, we're going." "Oh, here we go." Billy 25 on quick. On quick. Great break. I said, "Boom, we're going." We'll run. All right, we're running the belly. Wasn't a good one to go with it. Let's just say, "Stretch 38 on quick." Stretch 38. A quick quarterback will walk up. "Set" is your buzzword. "Set" is your buzzword. When that "set" comes out of that quarterback's mouth, you better have that summit in gear. You better be out of park. You better have a [ __ ] and driver first. And you better have your foot on the clutch. And when you hear "set" and you hear the "hi," you hear that "H," let that clutch out. Let's go. You come off that damn football and get up. We have every advantage being an offensive player. We have every advantage being an offensive line. We know the snap count. We know they don't know. We know it. We know where we're going. They don't know where we're going. We know what technique we're going to use when we get there or how we do. They have no idea. We have every advantage possible on offense as far as running the play and knowing where the play is gone. That poor bastard sitting over on defense, he's right there. Boom. He's playing three technique. He doesn't know if he's getting doubled. He doesn't know if he's getting blocked down a guard point around. He doesn't know if he's getting reach zone. He doesn't know if he's getting back block guard pulling. He doesn't know if he's back blocking here, influencing and getting trapped. He don't know what the [ __ ] is getting. He's reacting to everything. We know everything we're doing. We know when we're doing it. And we know how we're doing it. And we know where we're going. And when we're going. So we have every advantage. And that's what the snap count. We will come off the [ __ ] football. We will come off the football. And we'll, we need to build a better reputation than what we've got. But we will come off that [ __ ] football and get up to somebody's ass. And you do it by knowing your snap count and knowing how to anticipate. You said that is on quick. If it's on one, there we go. Caller number, caller number. Caller number again. Said, "Set" is your buzzword. Huh? All right, "Blue 81." "Blue 81." See it. "Blue 82." "Blue 82." Said, "Wrong word." Caller number, caller number. Said, "HUD." All right, if we ever do a hard two, hard count. Caller number, caller number. Said, "Uh huh." It's our road going on too would be "Blue 18." "Blue 18." Said, "Hit it." It's on two. We're getting hard too. Hard too. "Blue 81." "Blue 81." So hood the hard two, but it really emphasizes trying to get them off real hard on that on that one right there. And they're going back to work. This here stays the same. It's on regular two. It stays the same. Our first sound, we don't have a first sound. We're just gonna go, go, instead of what. Only first sound we have is that the center calls the snap. The shotgun. If the center calls the snap count, the shotgun, he'll come up, he'll get there, and he'll look down. He gets his signal. Go. He'll raise his head and snap the football. Hall or Jeff. We just go. Our key on that. Your key on that with the center is when his head comes up, your ass is ready to go. So the center's up there. It's on center's count. Got the ball. Go. He snaps it and we take it off. If not, the quarterback will call me. Quarterback will be back there. He'll go, "Blue 18." "Blue 18." Said it. And we'll snap it just like we do if we was underneath. Just like we do if we're running it. All right, if we want to change and play, if we've got a play called, we got, uh, stretch 38 called, and we come up and we don't like it. I'm gonna go, "Check open." "Check open." "Blue 18." "Blue 18." Set up. And we run. We'll check it that way and run it that way. All right, our live color, like most people's, it's red. Is our live color. So you hear red plays changing. So we got "Blue 81." We try not in our color number. Like if it's on one, if we go, "Blue 81." "Blue 81." Said, "Huh." We try to use numbers in here that really aren't plays. Sometimes they screw it up and they'll make a call with a play or something like that. All right, now you come up here. It's on one. All of a sudden you get red. "Brand 39." "Red 39." That's it. Huh? We're running stretch 39 right there. We're running stretch. Starting now. If he would have went, "Red 44." "Red 44." We would be running zone 44. It would be running stretch 39. All right, if he came up just for passing, we have went over pass yet. If he come up with my, "Red 51." "Red 51." Then we'd be blocking 51 drop-back pass protection. So whatever you hear red, the next number called, that's the play we're running. That's the play we're running. Okay, can you put a stop on just a minute?
All right, all right. Well, we're going to now, just a little bit about the personnel groups, so you have some idea of what, what we got on the field, who's out. All right, if we call regular, regular people, we always have five offensive linemen. That makes no deal. The smart group, and we can be regular. Gold. [Music] Blue. I also got red, silver, green. And that's, yeah, that's the basis up right there. We've got five offensive linemen in all these groups. All right, and regular, we've got two running backs. All right, we've got a quarterback, obviously, in all of them. So we've got six people taken care of. We've got six people that are constant. These people are, they're in their every snap. All right, the quarterback and the O-line, that's a constant. The rest of this [ __ ] will change with everything. All right, so we got two running backs, we've got two wide receivers, and one tight end. Okay, so at least five. We've got six and thighs. 11. It takes 11. We got five A B. That equals you love. All right. All right, we go to gold. You got two running backs, three wide receivers. Well, we gotta have a five [ __ ]. We already got fives. At least no tight ends. All right, we got three, two, one. Three. You got zero. You got zero. You got blue. All right, you got blue. All right, you got one running back, you got three wide receivers. Three and one's four. That means we got one tight end. We got one running back, three wide receivers, one tight end. That's blue. Now we've got red. We've got one running back, we've got four wide receivers. Four and one's five. That means we have no tight ends. We got no tight end. All right, we got silver. We got one running back, we've got two wide receivers. So it must mean we got two tight ends. One's three. We need five. So we got silver. We got one, one white out. I mean, one running back, two wide receivers, two tight ends. All right, green. Green, we got two running backs, one wide receiver. Two and one is three. So that must mean we got two tight ends. And that's your green. You must. So that's your main personnel grouping. Is right there. Regular I formation. Break the I formation. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Wide out here, here, here. But that's regular. Full mouse. That's a regular formation. All right, you go. That's right. All right, you go. Go. Now you can be an I or you can be a gun. Let's go. Two running backs, three wide. Three white outs. Two wires. All right. Next, we got blue. Got one running back. Blue. All right. That means we got three receivers. One there, one there. Now you can have the other one here, or he could be over here in trench. But you got three wide receivers. If you got three wide receivers and one back, you gotta have a tight end. You got three wide receivers and two running backs, you got no tight ends. You got two wide receivers, two running backs, that's four. You gotta have a tight end. All right, on blue. All right, you got red. You got four wide receivers. I got one running back and four wide receivers. That's five. That means there's no tight end. That's red. Four wide receivers. I got silver. All right, I've got one running back and I've got two wide receivers. That means I have to have two tight ends. And then green, I've got two running backs and one wide receiver. So that means I have to have two tight ends. And that's your green. You must. So that's your main personnel grouping. Is right there. Regular I formation. Break the I formation.
