Uh, the thing that was probably, uh, you know, the most unexpected, and we're going to get right into the meat of the stuff that we want to talk about today. Okay. I'm disappointed that I came to Canada, a Canada that it is very, very difficult to find Canadians who are passionate about the American-Canadian relationship. Okay. You ran a campaign where, you know, uh, it was anti-American. Elbows up. Me, too.
>> Canada is in chaos right now. Christia Freeland just walked out of Mark Carney's cabinet. And the US ambassador isn't holding back either, dropping the hammer on Ottawa's anti-American games. Carney's response, pure rage. And this isn't diplomacy. It's a meltdown. And while Carney fumes, Trump's approach to building real strength with America looks stronger than ever. So, I'm going to break it down. How Canada's leadership is collapsing in real time and just opened the door wide for Trump's vision.
>> You know, it was an anti-American campaign. Uh, that's, and and that that has continued. That's disappointing. Um, I talked to a lot of business people. Uh, they are passionate about the relationship because they recognize rebuilding ecosystems and rebuilding the kind of economic relationships that we have. Uh, as some people talk about, oh, you know, we'll go other places. It's kind of like that's hard. Plus, this one works pretty well. We've created a lot of prosperity and wealth, high quality, high-paying jobs by working together on both sides of the border. Like I said, I'm passionate for it. The business community is passionate for it, but they're not very public about it.
>> The US ambassador just said it out loud. He's disappointed in Canada. You should be asking yourself why. Well, I mean, the truth is very simple. But under Mark Carney, Canada has become openly hostile to American partnership because it did bring prosperity to both sides of the equation here, both sides of the border. The ambassador called it an anti-American campaign. And he's right. Carney ran on elbows of politics, not cooperation. And what did Canada get? Fractured relationships, ruined economy. I mean, think about this. The ambassador says he can't even find Canadians passionate about the US-Canada relationship anymore. That's not an accident. It's the result of leadership. It told his people, "America's the enemy." Carney is fueling division and Freeland is quitting. That's proof the whole project is collapsing. I mean, just look where Christia Freeland's head is. After walking out of Canada's finances, she's tweeting about being in Kiev with an AI company, saying, "It was great to be joined in Kiev. They are working hard to see how AI can support Ukraine's mission." What does that tell you? It tells you everything. Canadians are drowning under inflation, and businesses are desperate for relief. Freeland is more focused on international photo ops than fixing the disaster at home. And meanwhile, the businesses, the communities there, they know the truth. They understand the US is Canada's lifeline. High-paying jobs, real prosperity, those exist because of American trade and investment. Carney can stomp his feet and play nationalist all he wants, but the reality is Canada does not thrive without the United States. It doesn't. Trump understood this better than anyone. He fought for American workers, demanded fair trade, and rebuilt respect at the negotiating table. Carney, he just shot himself in the foot. He's exploding because of his anti-American rhetoric. Making the announcement, she said that she will not be running in the next federal election. I do not intend to run in the next federal election." And shortly after, the Canadian prime minister announced that Freeland will become Canada's special representative for the reconstruction.

Trump called out Canada's tactics as hostile and unprofessional. And he was right. Freeland's grandstanding nearly blew up the most important trade agreement Canada relies on. Trump's America, he put her in her place real quick and secured a better deal for the US workers. Great job. Canada stumbled out weaker. That's her real record. Even within Canada, Freeland became a lightning rod. She was attached to the government's failures at every turn. Ballooning deficits, reckless spending, and weak economic leadership. It defined her tenure. That's why her attempts to replace Trudeau as Liberal leader that collapsed. She pulled just 8% of the vote, crushed by none other than Mark Carney. That should tell you even the Liberal base rejected her.

He knew Canada's leadership was more interested in looking tough and appealing to China more looking tough on America than actually delivering results. He exposed it during NAFTA talks and he's being proven right again today. So what's happening? Freelin's career is finished. Canada's government is fractured and Carney is left screaming from the ruins trying to hold power while America watches. This is why the ambassador is blunt. Canada has abandoned passion for the relationship. Business leaders whisper about it privately, but politicians like Carne run hostility. And here's the truth. America doesn't need Canada. Doesn't need you guys. We don't need you. Trump showed that we can negotiate hard, protect our workers, and call out weak leadership without apology. Canada's collapse is proof that he's right. The US ambassador to Canada was on the defensive in Halifax, accusing Canada of playing hardball when it comes to trade talks. Carney's cabinet runs around screaming, "We're at war with America." That's reckless. That's really dangerous. Don't do that. And it shows you how desperate Canada's leadership has become. They can't win at the table, so they escalate the rhetoric at home to distract their own people. Like, think about it. The ambassador spelled it out. If President Trump actually thought America was at war with Canada, it wouldn't look like this. You'd see real consequences, not polite talks. Trump doesn't play games with language. Knows the difference between negotiation and combat. Canada, you do not want to experience that. Canada's politicians, they they don't seem to. They inflate the language to look tough while businesses and workers are getting crushed under tariffs, under uncertainty. And here's the kicker. Canadian politicians are now encouraging boycotts of US products. Don't buy American alcohol. Don't travel south. Really, that's their big plan? Punish their own people by cutting off them from the biggest market and closest neighbor they have. Really now, as the ambassador pointed out, Americans aren't stooping that low. We're not telling our citizens to boycott Canada. We're negotiating, securing better deals, and moving forward with or without them. That's the difference between Trump's America and Carney Canada. One is strategic, the other is being petty. Small businesses in Canada are the ones paying the price. The Canadian Federation of Independent Business says uncertainty is killing them. They're begging their provincial government to use a $200 million contingency fund. Yet, even that is stuck in limbo. Nova Scotia's finance minister won't answer basic questions about whether businesses will get help. Uh, that's not good. That's not leadership. That's evasion. And it proves the point. While Trump creates clarity by standing firm, Canada's politicians are creating chaos by hiding from responsibility.

But we just have no clarity on what the province is going to do with that fund here. And we do need clarity that would add certainty. We know of small businesses who could tap into funds and they need those um, you know, supports and it's on the province to really give a clear answer on this.
>> The province's finance minister John Lur wouldn't answer questions regarding the contingency fund or what impact tariffs are having on the economy, promising instead to answer those questions on Monday at a fiscal update. Jesse Thomas, CTV News.
>> Ask yourself this, who benefits from this so-called war narrative? It isn't Canadian families. It isn't Canadian workers. The only person who benefits is Mark Carney because it lets him posture as the defender of Canada against big bad America against it's a script, not a strategy. And the ambassador just shredded it in front of business leaders. And here's the truth. Canada's slipping into crisis mode. And it has been for a while because its leaders are chasing headlines instead of solutions. They shout war with America while businesses are crumbling and families are suffering and in agony. That is not strength. That's weakness. Dressed as nationalism. Trump never blurred the line. He fought hard. He redefined NAFTA and secured real wins for American workers. All the while keeping trade alive. And the truth is simple. America's strong and disciplined under Trump. Canada under Carney and it's losing ground every day.
