There's one message Satan fears more than any other. One truth he's worked for 2,000 years to hide from the church. One revelation that when it gets into a believer's spirit makes them absolutely unstoppable. And that message is the message of righteousness.
Not righteousness as something you earn, not righteousness as something you work toward, but righteousness as something you already are in Christ Jesus. And the reason the enemy fights so hard against this message is because when you understand you're the righteousness of God in Christ, everything changes. You stop begging and start commanding. You stop hoping and start knowing. You stop living as a sinner saved by grace and start living as a saint who was saved from sin. And that transformation terrifies the kingdom of darkness.
Most Christians have never heard the full message of righteousness. They know they're forgiven. They believe they're going to heaven, but they still see themselves as sinners trying to do better. They still feel unworthy to approach God. They still wonder if God hears their prayers, and they live far beneath what Jesus purchased for them because they don't understand who they became the moment they were born again. Religion has taught them to focus on their failures instead of on Christ's finished work. It's convinced them that righteousness is a goal instead of a gift. And Satan has used that deception to keep millions of believers living in defeat when they should be walking in victory.
Today, we're going to uncover why Satan fights so hard against the message of righteousness. We're going to expose what he's trying to hide and why he doesn't want you to know it. We're going to show you what happens when this revelation gets into your spirit. and we're going to give you the biblical keys to walking in the righteousness that's already yours in Christ. This is the foundation of everything we've been teaching. And once you see it, once you understand who you really are, the enemy will lose his power over you.
Let's start with the most revolutionary verse in the New Testament. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." Read that again carefully. That we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Not that we might become more righteous over time, not that we might earn righteousness through good works, but that we are made the righteousness of God in Christ. Past tense, completed action. The moment you were born again, you were made righteous. You didn't become partially righteous. You didn't become righteousness in training. You became the righteousness of God. And that's a present reality, not a future hope.
Now, this is where most Christians stumble. They say, "But I still sin. How can I be righteous if I still make mistakes?" And that question reveals they don't understand what righteousness means. Righteousness is not about your behavior. It's about your identity. It's not about what you do. It's about who you are in Christ. When God looks at you, he doesn't see your past. He doesn't see your failures. He doesn't see your weaknesses. He sees Jesus because you're in Christ and Christ is in you. And Jesus is perfectly righteous. So when God looks at you in Christ, he sees you as perfectly righteous.
EW Kenyon understood this with profound clarity. He wrote, "The revelation of righteousness is the master key to victorious Christianity." When a believer understands they are the righteousness of God in Christ, not based on their performance, but based on Christ's finished work, everything changes. They stop approaching God as a beggar and start approaching him as a child. They stop praying hoping God might hear and start praying knowing God always hears. They stop accepting defeat as normal and start enforcing victory as their right. This is not arrogance. This is faith. This is standing on what God said about you in his word. And Satan fights this message harder than any other because he knows a righteous, conscious believer is dangerous to his kingdom. That's the truth. Your righteousness consciousness determines your spiritual effectiveness.
So why does Satan fight so hard against this message? First, because righteousness gives you confidence before God. Hebrews 10:19 says, "Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus." The word boldness means confidence, assurance, freedom to speak. When you know you're righteous in Christ, you have confidence to enter God's presence. Not arrogance, not presumption, but confidence based on what Jesus did. You're not hoping God will accept you. You know he's accepted you in Christ according to Ephesians 1:6. You're not wondering if you're good enough. You know Jesus made you good enough. And that confidence changes how you pray, how you worship, and how you live.
But when Satan can keep you sin conscious instead of righteousness conscious, when he can keep you focused on your failures instead of on Christ's victory, you approach God timidly. You pray hoping he might listen. You beg instead of asking with confidence. You plead instead of claiming what's yours. And that kind of Christianity is no threat to the enemy. That's why he works so hard to keep believers sin conscious. Because a sin conscious Christian is a defeated Christian. But a righteousness conscious Christian walks in authority and power.
EW Kenyon said, "The enemy's primary weapon against believers is condemnation." If he can make you feel unworthy, if he can convince you that God is angry with you because of your failures, if he can keep you focused on your sin instead of on Christ's righteousness, he can neutralize your effectiveness. But the moment you understand that there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus according to Romans 8:1. The moment you grasp that you are the righteousness of God in Christ. Condemnation loses its power. You can say, "Satan, I am not what I was. I am a new creation in Christ. The old things are passed away. All things are become new." according to 2 Corinthians 5:17. And I refuse your accusations because Jesus made me righteous. That's the power of righteousness consciousness. It silences the accuser.
Second, Satan fights the message of righteousness because righteousness gives you authority. Romans 5:17 says, "For if by one man's offense, death reigned by one, much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ." Notice it says, "You shall reign in life, not struggle in life, not barely survive in life, reign in life, and you reign through the gift of righteousness." When you know you're righteous in Christ, you know you have authority. You're not under sin's dominion. You're not under Satan's authority. You're seated with Christ in heavenly places according to Ephesians 2:6, far above all principalities and powers. And from that position of righteousness and authority, you reign.
But when you don't understand your righteousness, you live as a victim instead of a victor. You accept the enemy's attacks instead of resisting them. You tolerate bondage instead of enforcing freedom. And Satan loves that because a believer who doesn't know their righteousness doesn't know their authority. They don't realize they have the right to use Jesus' name. They don't understand they can command sickness to leave, cast out demons, and speak to mountains. They live beneath their privileges because they don't know who they are.
EW Kenyon wrote, "Authority flows from identity when you know you are the righteousness of God in Christ." You know you have the right to use his name. You're not asking God to do something he might do if he's in the mood. You're enforcing what he's already done. You're standing on your legal rights as a child of God. And you're using the authority Jesus delegated to you. This is biblical Christianity. This is what Jesus modeled and what he expects you to do. But you'll never walk in this authority if you don't first understand your righteousness. Because authority without identity produces presumption, but authority with righteousness consciousness produces power. That's the key. Know who you are, then exercise what's yours.
Third, Satan fights the message of righteousness because righteousness changes your confession. Proverbs 28:1 says, "The wicked flee when no man pursueth, but the righteous are bold as a lion." When you know you're righteous, you're bold, not timid, not hesitant, not apologetic, bold. And that boldness comes out in your words. You stop saying, "I'm just a sinner saved by grace." You start saying, "I am the righteousness of God in Christ." You stop confessing your weaknesses. You start confessing your position. You stop agreeing with the enemy's lies. You start declaring God's truth.
Romans 10:10 says, "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Confession matters. What you say about yourself affects how you live. If you keep calling yourself a sinner, you'll keep living like a sinner. If you keep focusing on your failures, you'll keep failing. But when you start confessing your righteousness in Christ, when you start declaring who God says you are, your life begins to line up with your confession because your words create your reality, not in a mystical way, but in a biblical way. You believe in your heart and you confess with your mouth and what you confess consistently becomes what you experience.
EW Kenyon said, "The confession of your lips that has grown out of faith in your heart will absolutely defeat the adversary in every combat." The believer who continually confesses their righteousness in Christ, who declares, "I am the righteousness of God. I have the right to approach the throne of grace boldly. I have the authority to use Jesus' name. I am more than a conqueror through Christ," will walk in victory. Not because they're trying to speak things into existence, but because they're agreeing with what God has already said about them. And when your confession lines up with God's word, you position yourself to receive what God has provided. That's the power of righteous confession.
Now, let me show you what happens when you walk in righteousness consciousness. First, prayer changes. You stop begging and start asking with confidence. 1 John 5:14-15 says, "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us. And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." When you know you're righteous, you have confidence. And that confidence affects how you pray. You're not hoping God might hear. You know he hears. You're not wondering if you're worthy. You know Jesus made you worthy. So you ask and you believe you receive and you thank God for the answer before you see it.
Second, spiritual warfare changes. You stop being the victim and become the victor. James 4:7 says, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." When you know you're righteous, you resist with authority. You don't beg God to defeat the enemy. You command the enemy to leave in Jesus' name. You don't accept sickness, poverty, or bondage. You resist them based on your rights in Christ. And the devil has to flee because you're standing in the righteousness Jesus purchased for you.
Third, your entire approach to God changes. You stop seeing him as an angry judge and start seeing him as a loving father. You stop trying to earn his acceptance and start resting in the acceptance Jesus secured. You stop performing to gain his approval and start living from his approval. And that changes everything because when you know God loves you, accepts you and sees you as righteous in Christ, you serve him from love, not from fear. You obey him because you want to, not because you have to. And you experience the abundant life Jesus promised instead of the struggling life religion produces.
EW Kenyon wrote, "The message of righteousness is the foundation of new covenant living." When you understand you are righteous in Christ, you stop trying to become what you already are. You stop striving to earn what you've already been given. You stop performing to gain what Jesus already purchased. And you start living from your position instead of trying to get to your position. This is rest. This is peace. This is the victorious Christian life. And this is exactly what Satan doesn't want you to experience. That's why he fights the message of righteousness harder than any other message. Because once you see who you are in Christ, once righteousness consciousness replaces sin consciousness, you become dangerous to his kingdom. That's the revelation. You already are what religion is trying to make you become.
So here's the practical application. Starting today, change your confession. Stop calling yourself a sinner. You're not a sinner anymore. Romans 6:6 says, "Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." Your old man, your sin nature was crucified with Christ. You're a new creation. You're the righteousness of God in Christ. So declare it every morning when you wake up. Say, "I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I have confidence before God. I have authority over the enemy. I have the right to use Jesus' name and I walk in victory today."
When the enemy brings accusation, when he reminds you of your past, when he tries to make you feel unworthy, respond with righteousness. Say, "Satan, I am not what I was. I am the righteousness of God in Christ." According to 2 Corinthians 5:21, there is no condemnation for me according to Romans 8:1. I am accepted in the beloved according to Ephesians 1:6 and I refuse your lies. Don't argue about your failures. Stand on your righteousness in Christ because that's what silences the accuser.
When you pray, pray from your position of righteousness. Don't approach God as a beggar. Approach him as a child. Don't plead with him to hear you. Thank him that he always hears you according to 1 John 5:14. Don't hope he might answer. Believe he will answer because you're asking in Jesus' name and you're asking according to his will. Your righteousness gives you the right to expect answers, not because you're perfect, but because Jesus is perfect and you're in him.
EW Kenyon said, "The Christian life is not about trying to become righteous. It's about believing you are righteous and living from that reality." When you wake up knowing you're the righteousness of God in Christ, your day changes. Your prayers change. Your battles change. You're not fighting to win. You're enforcing the victory Jesus already won. You're not striving to be accepted. You're resting in the acceptance you have in Christ. And you're walking in the authority that comes from knowing who you are. This is what Satan fears. This is why he fights the message of righteousness. Because a righteousness conscious believer is a powerful believer and powerful believers change the world. That's your calling. Walk in who you are.

It's a forgotten law that the early church practiced consistently. It's a principle that when applied works every single time without fail.
