Teslas are now driving coast to coast without a single intervention. That was supposed to be the touring test for self-driving, but it's become so routine it barely made a headline. Plus, several remarkable comments from Tesla leadership this weekend. [music]
First, Tesla's vice president of AI, Ashra Glaswami, says there's a zero intervention cross-country drives have basically become normal now. Yasai, called it the most underrated achievement.
Second, robo taxi and CyberCap look like they're scaling much faster now. We'll go through new fleet data showing Austin approaching 80% unsupervised. Reports of over 130 cyber caps sitting in Houston, new sightings in Charlotte, Tampa, and New Zealand, and what all of that tells us about Tesla's rollout strategy.
Third, the 2026 summer update is officially rolling out. It brings Grock deeper into the car, smarter navigation, your own self-driving stats, and a long list of features that keep turning these cars into computers on wheels. Put these three together and it seems Tesla's AI autonomy and software roadmap is moving fast and it's picking up speed.
We got Jeff Le joining us today. He's an ex supply chain sea level executive from Motorola, Google and Lenovo. He's currently running his own consulting firm serving mega cap tech in supply chain design and manufacturing. Welcome Jeff.
>> Here we're good morning. A lot of good headlines to go through and and honestly kind of uh talk through what we've seen happen over the last week too.
Yeah, I think what's happened today though, of course, the stock continues to fall. We're closer to $300. Jeeoff, uh what's your take based on what happened in the earnings, what they're, you know, forecasting and why the stock is falling.
>> Yeah, I mean, we don't uh on this and I we don't brought you try to predict daily action or movement, but it's it's certainly moved down since earnings. I think what happened going into the earnings call is you had a production and delivery number I think on July 2nd or third that came out that was very strong that showed vehicle deliveries were much stronger than expected. Energy delivery was was pretty strong and I think people were um and mo most people the consensus was hopeful for very good earnings a couple weeks later. That's typically what happens when you've got strong delivery numbers. Of course, more of what the company is is is being driven on and and valued on now is its robo taxi rollout. And I think we, you know, we get into the earnings call and there were was a lot of subjective and a lot of objective commentary around the roll out of robo taxi. Uh the the progress is is there. We see the progress. we see them inching closer in each of these cities and and in and in and shipping this product there and and building it up and I I think from Tesla I think what we're looking for is some clarity on what are the objective criteria for wide rollout and you know, because we've kind of gone through this and I think you know things can change too when you're working on this gamechanging technology but just some clarity I think around what is more of that objective go wide criteria and where are we at? So we got some information but some information is based on some information that we don't have. For example, 10% compounding off of what rate. We just know the the total uh number of miles in a six-month period. We don't know what rate they um ended June with. So uh there's a mixture of some of of I think very promising information. And there's a mixture of of I think other commentary on the call that just says look they're going to be super careful about this maybe even more careful than anybody thought including themselves. So the headline risk is minimized as they get through these key regulator um approvals and they just gain the kind of the consensus and approval of the product. But I I think what we're looking for is is just continued rollouts in these cities and then increasing wide availability in these cities. So it's rolled out, it's available, uh people can enjoy the service, you know, there's very low wait times and great quality. And I'm sure Tesla that's what Tesla's honestly working towards. But the the the other thing about just the stock and what's like what's going on in the market right now is there are a lot of macro forces that are hitting the market in in July specifically in the momentum trades and Tesla's clearly a momentum type uh stock ticker also in the AI trade which it's it's now being more classed inside of both of those had a very large draw downs of 35 to 50% or more in many in many names uh in July. So you have these compounding factors. Even today this morning there was an announcement of a China DUV lithography machine. They they haven't been making these machines. They've been uh prevented from actually even having access to these machines for very advanced lithography which is how you make these high-end AI chips and other AS6. And there was an announcement of a company making progress. But I think what people need to understand is uh from here to that that machine being in full volume production, you're you're talking years for that to happen. So it's something I think to keep an eye on. But the market is is is is uh reacting very rapidly to information that comes in. We had Kimmy K3 the Chinese open source model a couple of weeks ago. and that it's just upsetting markets. But once the market understands it, once it's explained and that more of the consensus is out there of like, yeah, these open source models actually drive more infrastructure uh usage and and really grow AI, then the market absorbs it and accepts it. I think you'll see this with with with this as well, but you know, these things take time and the market's tenuous. You've got a Fed big Fed meeting on Wednesday. Could they raise rates? there's a 30% chance that they may. There used to be zero. Um, there's even a higher chance in September. You know, the consensus is they're not going to raise rates, but you have all these different things compounding inside of this week. So, I think we just need to get out of July and I think we need to get clarity from a Tesla perspective on what does wide roll out mean? Uh is the auto industry buying EVs still at a very rapid pace? are is Tesla backlog continuing to grow at at least a multi-year record pace and uh where are we at again with wide roll out of robo taxi and uh kind of getting optimist to do useful useful generalized tasks. Uh one final just comment on on Optimus even that commentary was just around hey this thing's going to be very difficult to build it's going to be very slow. I think what people should understand on Optimus and any any uh humanoid robots in the industry is for most companies manufacturing is going to be a huge bottleneck for them and and at certain points of time it will be for Tesla but the real bottleneck is getting these things to do something useful and generalized without having to have onetoone control from a human being and we're not there. So anyway, I went kind of full spectrum both on the earnings call and macro, but you've got a lot of disruptive forces happening this month and you're going to have to let it play out. I think again, nobody on this call, Kerver, we're not giving any advice in terms of what to do today, tomorrow. Um, but you know, everybody should just be mindful of the news, understand what's happening, and and understand that this I think this buildout is going to continue for me for for many years to come, but the market doesn't always understand it, and it can be irrational for for long periods of time. So, we should just be be safe.
>> Yep. Thank you for giving that full overview of what's going on with the macro. AI selloff is certainly one of the big issues, but I think we can all agree that Tesla themselves kind of shot themselves in the foot or what's the word? They they, you know, their own mistake, their own way to communicate. Um, is, you know, this is the thing. We're going to go do a show right now. We're going to do the updates of all the things that happened this weekend. And there's a lot of things that show that there's progress with CyberCap, with Robo Taxi, with software. Um and yet right and yet they did not give great guidance of what to expect for this for the for the the coming year.
This is uh David Moss Spencer and Owen and they just did yet another coast to coast drive this time with a model 3 and the uh version 14.3 oh sorry this is the 14.3.6 but they um sorry this is not the model 3 this is the 14.3.6 six, but they did it a cannonball. They were trying to do it as fast as possible, coast to coast drive. And um they've hit 20 20,000 miles of Tesla FSD. And then of course uh Omar said this, the fact that people are competing to see who can do the fastest self-driving cannonball from New York City to LA is kind of insane. And the fact that it's been done so many times now that no one even bats an eye at zero intervention cross-country trips anymore. Ashra Kawasami, vice president of AI for Tesla said, "Yeah, AI driving coast to coast without interventions was supposed to be a big deal. Kind of like the touring test for self-driving, but went breezing by." Just went breezing by. Yasai said, "The most underrated achievement." Thoughts on that, Jeeoff?
>> Yeah, you know, and Phil Phil by he had an interesting post too of the kind of just the human terrain test. Can a human actually drive as good as is FSD now? And that's an interesting question, right? Because FSD has the eight cameras has a very fast frame rate of information coming in and is it even possible for a human to drive as well um as FSD? That's that's certainly becoming debatable now. Uh the cannonball is a great thing. I think the hats off to the to the gentleman that that did that. They did it a couple hours faster than the prior one. So they're getting faster and faster and it kind of tells you the whole efficiency of the system uh of being able to take an EV across country. So hats off to them. It's fully autonomous. They're not touching anything. That's the other big thing that's obviously added to this. And the final thing is this is a production Tesla. This is something that if this gets into the news and people see that these guys did this and and the message should be is you could go today and order and or pick up that Model 3 and and you could do the same thing if you want. So you've got the ability now to drive autonomously coast to coast if you buy FSD.
>> Yeah. The point is it's not just being uh safe, but it's being able to do it in multiple states. Almost any city in the US, basically any city in the US, you can feel confident that this thing can drive. That's the the message being sent out.
So, one of the things that Ashok said in the earnings call was that they're already starting to use version 15 in robo taxi in Austin. Here's the first drive here that shows uh possibly it's probably the version 14. I'll take the music out, but basically just showing that um you know that it's happening. This guy not only took this ride, but also uh reported on it and he said that he had a stellar robo taxi day in Austin, he saw 24 unique cars today and the unsupervised count in Austin is now at 54. Now almost 80% of the fleet is unsupervised. There's definitely been an expansion in fleet and cars that are active daily. You can track it here. Uh, I guess he's got his own uh tracker. You can see 71 fleet size 44 historic. And so he's tracking it. People are tracking this. Um, Jenma JP asked, "Can you tell us how many rides you take? How many of them have been flawless? How many of them have required intervention from customer support? How many of them have been poor customer experience? Do not count the cases where you could not get a ride. I want he wants to guess how good FSE is not the availability." So he's taken 17 18 rides. Dependent only seen a bit of hesitation here and there. So everything's been fine and then that's what we'll be tracking. So now it's really a convenience issue. Um, and then if you want proof a robo taxi is scaling quick in cities other than Austin. There's 13 robo taxis in Houston all within 1 hour. Okay. So this is Houston. And remember Houston was supposed to be just a handful and it's now 13. So it's still still there but it's uh, you know, it's starting to happen. And then this 133 cyber caps spotted Houston today. Cyber caps. Cyber caps five at the Tesla Hemston 20 in the fleet lot. Yeah, it's kind of like it's a bit painful to to think about this, but this is also likely what is happening is that the Tesla management team is taking a bit of pressure off the team by really at least describing this as being an excruciating slow process and basically not talking about the prior goals set. But in the background that is kind of telling the world, okay, Tesla's being careful. Tesla's being super methodical. They're just not ripping it out there to get their, you know, their stock ripping or whatever. They're they're being super methodical, but in the background, I mean, these are meaningful. I mean, people were reporting one or two cars in Houston and Dallas, and now to see a dozen, that's a meaningful jump. And, you know, we need to see the dozen, you know, go up by 10x at some point here soon. But I think it I I do find it interesting that it's not like things have stopped. No, everything we see is kind of just getting pushed to the edge. These cars, we're going to see we're going to see, you know, large deliveries of cybercabs now in these locations. Again, test vehicles and non-est vehicles. Test vehicles can be modified in the future, but test vehicles are part of the process to launch um, you know, a location and get uh FSD uh adapted to the cybercab. But I just find it interesting though the rhetoric versus what's happening what's happening is is it looks like they're starting to expand these fleets. But it I will say too it is I've been following that account. There are you know there are days where they show a lot of concurrent cybercabs on the road in Austin and then there's days where like oh it says high demand. So it feels like it's sputtering but to like take off like okay we had to take it down and we're doing you know these quality checks or we're doing what what have you to get everything really tuned up and ready to go for you know some some launch in the future. But I I think it all goes back to what is the objective go- wide criteria and um again besides the the 10 the 10% compounding miles per week uh, you know, what is that objective go criteria because now because if we here's what we do if after every earnings call if we take what Tesla says and then we apply >> the math to it like that's where we got the seven cities and that's where we got all these different things in the past. So some I think some stability from Tesla and this is like this is how we measure this. This is what we believe the world now we're smarter now. We know more things than we even did six three months ago or six months ago and this is what this looks like going forward, you know, and maybe here's a base plan and here's a stretch plan. I don't know. But something along the lines of that I think would be helpful. We we don't we never get any backwards looking reccalibration of we said this but this is what really and this is why we we kind of just we get a new set of objectives and I think it would be I think it would help to recalibrate some of that.
>> Yeah, it really would. Um, okay, so these are test vehicles probably 130 cybercabs. They're still testing them. They're still driving around to get the FSE data. Um, thank you by the way to SE Robinson. It was his uh fly over that uh I was just showing there. This is the first robo taxi ride in Tampa. Need to update maps and software for back alleys. It got stuck in one. Ride was flawless, including navigation, busy parking for drop off. So, this is also just proof that it's happening now in um, in Tampa as well.
Yeah, I saw an update from I think it was Tampa, Orlando where there the gentleman was, you know, he got four rides that day and they were all under a few minutes of of wait time, just typical weight time you'd have from any any ride share service. And he said they were all flawless. They were all good. So, this is what we want to see. Remember, the headline is, you know, [snorts] the headline risk is there and the headline risk has been there for years with Tesla. I don't think that's a new thing, but it it seems that, you know, social media amplification has only gotten worse of of negative things over the last couple of years, not not better.
>> Yep. Okay. So, this is the first robo taxi ride in Tampa. So, at least we know for sure that it is happening. It is unsupervised, but probably very small numbers. But here's what they found in Charlotte. So there's like an again hundreds of or whatever I don't know how many numbers of cybercabs and model Y's in Charlotte. So they are definitely out there uh testing these cybercabs in every one of these. But Charlotte, North Carolina is not one of the cities that we had actually said spotted multiple cybercabs. There's 15, so not hundreds. Right behind them is about 15 Model Y's with Texas plates. half of them have robo taxi camera washers as well. So, uh, what's your thinking about that, Jeeoff?
>> Yeah, I I continue to believe that they're they're moving product closer and closer to the point of launch. We just, um, we're just I think there's just less clarity of when that would be. And I think Tesla wants to hold those cards as close to themselves as possible. And again, I do think they want to get out in the media that we're conservative. We're safe. By the way, I don't want to break off into a whole other thing. We can come back to it later, but the same thing we'll have to do with Optimus. Remember, Optimus is going to be a a very unnatural kind of stunning thing when it's actually out in the real world. And you're going to have to have this whole acclamation pro. By the way, we've never actually gone through this with the um, the the eyewear, the eyewear with cameras, the uh smart glasses. that's never still really been socially accepted. People think it is now because it looks more like eyewear. You're going to have this too with Optimus where it's Tesla has to be very deliberate and careful with how it's positioned in the marketplace. I think the same thing with these robo taxis because now these are computers with AI brains that are out there making their own decisions and they just have to be consistently safe, clean, on time, and they have to gather that reputation. And the best way to get get that reputation is to do it with low volumes and not splash it out there. So, I think that's what they're doing. I think they should be just super clear with what they're doing and how long they think it will take. And and hopefully now that they've gotten many, many more months under their belt with doing this, the predictions can be uh a little bit more dialed in. This isn't easy either. So, I don't I don't This isn't an easy thing to predict.
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think I think so. First of all, Tesla absolutely changed their tone. they changed their milestone, whatever they were hoping for, right? Because they were at the beginning of the year, they were saying, "We're going to roll out these cities and we're gonna grow them." And uh people expected it to be kind of this linear kind of thing. And then what ended up happening is they're going to do small tests in these cities, which is fair, and then roll them out big uh all at once in not not only eventually eventually to get to state by state. And that makes sense in a sense that you don't want to uh roll out mo too many cities like Whimo does where it's it's you're not getting you're not providing the best service possible. Um, but same time they've they've felt like it's been they changed their tune. They changed what their plan is. Right. Do you have kind of like a guess of why other than the big the theme everybody thinks is that Elon is trying to keep the Tesla stock down?
>> Yeah, that's hard to predict from the outside. All we have to do is go off of the facts and the predictions and I again I think some inaccuracy is expected especially with AI. uh this is an unpredictable thing but I think there's you know we've had successive um periods now of this so it does it kind of makes you it make what what we need to know is what is the objective go wide criteria and what are we measuring today what are we seeing today and right now we have these very broad numbers of zero critical incidents in 380,000 miles. But even that if and people know statistics like that's helpful, but then it's not helpful because we we actually want to we would want many more miles and we would want to at least have an instance. We understand some rate and we're not, you know, we don't have zero in the numerator, but it's a great thing that we we don't have a serious issue, don't get me wrong. So I the other thing I think for people to keep in mind I think it's very important especially if you kind of have a long-term horizon following this stuff is is anybody getting closer is anybody getting when I say closer not only the the volume of cars which is what everybody fixates on but actually the business of of ride share is anybody closer to a better business when the Tesla business is scale failed is does anybody have a business that's like it in terms of how light the cost structure is and how profitable it will be? No, we don't. We don't see any evidence of a car company building a large robo taxi platform at the price point that Tesla is doing with the capability of the cybercab with the AI capability of Grock with the AI capability of Tesla AI like we don't we don't see that. So, I think it would be actually a lot worse is if the competition was scaling and ramping much faster and and there's multiple people catching up and Tesla was having these delays that [clears throat] the delays are bad enough, but to me it's a little bit comforting. I don't see people getting closer. I just don't. And and maybe someone should comment and say, "Well, there's somebody with that's profitable that has a great business plan that's ramping up the number." didn't tell us who that OEM is. Um, but I don't I don't see that.
>> Yeah, that may be another reason why they decided to slow roll it because it's there. Why rush? They're only competing against themselves. Okay. Um, here's something new. This is new. Four cybercab sightings in uh several cities in a near Austin, suburbs of Austin, but they're driverless. They're driverless. Cybercab sightings. This is what this person said. Cybercab spotter. So they're driverless.
>> Yeah, these are the final these are the stages that occur before we saw this with the Model Y robo taxi. Remember we saw the first driverless Model Y robo taxis and we had you know it was a big splash and everybody was like wow this is actually there's nobody behind the wheel now. Um, and and these are on public streets in Austin. So, the employee rides, the pickups, the volume of those, I think Joe Techmire just posted some more >> this morning from the Austin facility. >> And now that it's giving employee rides on public roads, um, driverless >> public roads outside of Giga, Texas. >> Well, is that isn't that what we're seeing in this clip? >> Oh, right. [laughter] Sorry. I guess that is that is >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Okay. Well, I I thought that that was that was no one in the car. >> I guess that's the first step, right? You have no one in the car because you don't want to risk anybody >> and then you put a employee in there. >> Well, we've seen we've seen videos in the last two weeks of believed to be employee pickups on on public roads in the Austin area. >> All right. So, >> that's that's these are steps, right? This is fantastic. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> It's not so I think people I everybody's a bit of like bit adult the progress like Tesla is making progress that the Tesla AI team is totally cooking. Look at the releases we've gotten for hardware 4 and hardware 3 cars AI4 AI3 cars and look what we have with you know V15 now. I guess is probably three of the seven features that they wanted are in and they're testing B15 now in actual customer robo taxis on the streets. So you know that they'll continue to integrate and get all seven of those features in. So man, they're working hard. They are making progress. It's it's more of just how it's positioned. I think
>> it is. And and it's and it's that whole positioning of great auto deliveries, great energy business, all these cars being stationed in all these cities, and we're kind of just waiting for the all right, it's that, you know, the wave is coming and this is we're going to describe how the wave occurs. And we got again a little bit of a different we got different commentary on it. But again, one other thing to keep in mind, too, is that regulator piece is important. If Tesla goes too hard, too far, too wide than let's say Texas and they have an issue that's gonna weigh on a regulator approval in Nevada and because they they have they have social media too. It doesn't have to happen in their state. They see it and they like, "Hey," and they'll get pressure from their constituents to maybe put Tesla through more testing. So, they need a clean record. They they're delivering a clean record. Uh, I I think think we're all getting anxious. I think though that I still go back to it's you're not hiring all these people and you're not positioning these cars here to not launch. So >> let's see what happens and let's see if they can clarify what go wide means.
>> Uh, I was going to ask you this because we know that the cybercab is not just the software has to be flawless and that's what they're testing. Uh, but there's also the actual physical part of the car itself. And here we go. So this is not the first time we reported on cybercab being spotted in New Zealand I don't know felt like a month ago already. So this is winter testing and u they just keep testing it and it's out there you know and so in your experience what what stage does this mean when we finally see these cars um being tested like this?
>> Well they and I think this testing has been going on for a period of time. This is I don't think this just started.
>> Yeah. and they were testing cybercabs in Chicago actually in the winter. We had a couple here and um and they were they were driving them. So I think they've already got a winter quite frankly under their belt because they were in they were approaching pilot in the but as spring was starting and it's still very cold in these areas. So obviously this is uh more of their kind of official cold weather testing. Again, it says, you know, they want to work out any remaining kind of nagging issues. They could also have a second what when when a platform is this big, you typically have a second tier, it's not second tier, a second set and a third set of suppliers on many parts. [snorts] And so what they could be doing, you have to send them out for for road testing, for field testing, including this climate. So they could be doing that as well. I I I believe cybercabs have already gone through this and kind of the primary instantiation. My guess is and we heard this in the interview with Lars that I think people Lars said himself I think people are under underestimating >> the size of this of this platform.
>> Yeah. >> And its roll out. So if I'm Tesla and I got a second set of suppliers and a third set, I want to send them down there for testing.
>> And and he didn't indicate Lars didn't indicate any issues with the cybercab in the build itself or quality. He was actually the opposite. Very very optimistic about it and very pumped about it. But um, you know >> there's always by the way anybody watching this from they know that they've got their own issues in the factory that they're working with. But yeah, is it anything that's getting >> always issues right? Yeah. But I was going to say though but because this I was going to ask you this because you've you've have experience launching products that isn't just for small scale but like global. We're talking like millions. This particular vehicle is the first time that Tesla's launching something that is expected to be two million or more per year. You know, a million per more per year. Uh way more than just a Model 3 or the Model Y. In fact, the combination of the two, right? So, this has to like would you at this point uh obviously even double the testing, right? Because it's it's meant to be going wide like scale. And what you do for what you do in those situations is like I said earlier, >> you do build up a a multi- um you you're a redundant supply base and a redundant tool set for your own factory. So remember Tesla makes a lot of parts in their own factory and there's a primary set of tools and there's all the repeat set of tools that have to be qualified for this kind of volume and scale. So if I'm Tesla, I'm taking those repeat parts off of, you know, tool number repeat tool number 9, 10, 11, and I'm taking my second source parts from my second set of suppliers and I'm building cybercabs with them while the volumes are actually this this relatively low. So first priority is getting the factory ramped up, getting the speed, getting the quality, getting all that working together. But then you've got to introduce to answer your question Herbert you've got to introduce these other sources and your your other repeat tools in the factory because you are going to go much wider and then in terms of all the you know different countries they're just they're going to send cars there and they're going to test.
>> Yeah. On the other hand I think yeah you've mentioned before too that because this is not being sold to customers it's actually still Tesla owned.
>> If an issue does happen it's still going to be costly. They have to recall them and work on them fix them. But >> right, >> it's at least they own them. Um as opposed to, you know, pissing off customers.
>> Okay. U talking about customers, um new software is going to be starting to roll out to uh Tesla vehicle owners. This the 2026 summer update started rolling out to customer cars. So now you got navigation now priorizes routes that you've taken before. So this appears to already have some memory that we've been talking about. So if you've taken a or well at least when you've taken a route before you've chosen it'll prioritize that route. That's great. You can now make phone calls adjust climate. So now Grock kind of can control your car now. You can say open glove box at least. At least that adjust the climate at least that. So things are uh improving there. You can now view and share your self-driving steps. Yeah. Okay. Automatic navigation now adapts your routine in addition to home work and upcoming calendar events. Your vehicle can also suggest and route the places you visit regularly. I thought it already did that. Uh, karaoke now scores your single park. Great. You can now set your desired arrival energy from your phone. Great. Custom wrap, rear display lock, find superchargers by name, fixing problems. Okay. Anything here that you are very pumped about?
>> Well, the uh the memory. I think the memory and the gro integration are big pieces of the puzzle uh for unsupervised use and because think if you think about it if it's if it's going to use more familiar routes that's one of the reasons I'm constantly going to the screen >> like hey I don't want to go that direction back to my home I want to go this the way I always do >> so they're removing input the memory thing is big it's going to remove input and it's going to really give it context where it's not going to be it's it's already great, but it's going to be much less frustrating when there's memory. And that's a big that's a big rewrite. You have you have that's a big I was I'd say it's a very big addition for the Tesla team to put that in. And of course then the Grock integration now it's this is what we were expecting it to be able to do more things and control more of the car. And this is getting more and more to being more humanlike where you don't have the human in the car potentially driving but you can interact with it like even saying hey I don't want to go through the construction or hey I want to avoid this or you know it's you know I'm in a hurry or whatever the ability to converse with the car and to have it have some sort of meaningful safe response I think is a big deal. So, I think those two things are the biggest. The other ones are nice features, but the memory and >> the memory one it sounds like is it's just the mapping and then later once we get version 15 or uh future updates they're promising that we'll have destination parking where for example my driveway which park which garage I park in which specific parking lot you want to park in at your school or work that will come later but right now this sounds like just kind of the routes uh somewhere or a mapping thing. Uh, and then the Grock, at least it shows it works, right? It's not just answer question and answer. Back all the LM do this. This is like you controlling the car, >> right? >> And it works. And so once it can do open glove box shouldn't be that much harder to say, you know, increase the car speed or, you know, other things that uh, you know, tell tell me what the tire pressure is or anything really. once you've integrated into that. So, I think that that's the first thing. Um, are you expecting that version 15 is going to be rolled out to us or is that something that they're going to solve first for Robo Taxi and it'll be many months, many months, maybe before the end of the year, maybe >> the timeline is hard to say. I mean, you have to go off of what Tesla has said previously. Uh, but it looks like it looks like they're on track and yes, robo taxi first, then our cars. And then what about the next few releases will have memory? What it say? Is that part of version 15 or is that just >> that's part of this? That's part of this um that starts with this summer roll out. >> I I get the first instantiations of it there. >> No, but what I'm waiting for is the destination memory because right now my co my FSD never drives into my driveway. I have a very unique driveway where it's like right as soon as you turn the corner into the, you know, my the first driveway and so it's like, you know, it's often missed. Doesn't even know it's there. You have to kind of do a round turn and then it's curvy and all that. So, it needs to >> I'm like I personally am going, okay, if you could if one day that I'm assuming that that will be solved because that's what they're promising, right? Memory of what you do. Now, I don't think that that's what this is. This is just again uh routes uh outside of my destination. >> So >> yeah, Elon has said that that's coming. That specific use case is coming. Just you have to take it with >> a grain of salt on the timing. Is it a couple months away or is it within a year? >> Um, but he said that is coming and that's a that's a really important thing. That's one of the big things driving interventions >> and that's one of the things we're waiting for. All right. Well, what's what's the ch? I guess we don't know. But I mean, the way the earnings call ended was everybody felt like we're not going to see any meaningful ramp up until next year. But I guess there is still that small potential, right, where version 15 is uh saw completed before a few months from now whenever um, and then they feel comfortable to do kind of wider rollouts. So even though it's a delay now, we're not seeing progress now in terms of roll out of robo taxi, it could then jump before the end of year, but because the way like you were saying earlier, you cannot predict when when this happens. And so it could actually be several months afterwards. they could they could get data that they really like and they'll I think it's going to be quite difficult to exactly predict these kind of things. So we we'll have to see. I think the best thing to do is just watch the fleet the active fleet information. I think that's the most important thing. It's not how registrations are one clue. Seeing cars in parking lots are one clue, but then are these things in an active fleet. I think that's a big thing. And then I think CyberCab giving rides to the public is another big >> milestone. And we see that there could be a couple thousand of these built um potentially if you're looking at the VIN numbers already. >> So these numbers are going to get big uh pretty quickly. It's just I think I don't think they're making it difficult to predict it. It is difficult to predict based on the guidance from the company.
>> Thank you, Jeeoff. Yeah, I think you're right. So, the couple big things that we saw today, one is CyberCab uh you know being tested now with no one in the car, public roads. That's a that's a that's a signal that they're actually, you know, getting more comfortable because if they had rolled this out just to employees within Giga Texas and then it took them months before they decided to do that, there was issues. This means that they felt comfortable enough to start testing public roads. similarly, right? That's one. Um, those are >> well, if I again, if I'm Tesla and I'm putting my employees and my assets on public roads, I think FSD is adapted and I'm just looking for outlier use cases. I'm not, this isn't the start of the process. This feels more of like this feels more like verification, not >> some multifaceted test and tuning plan. This feels if I'm putting human bodies in these things and I'm seeing employees get in and out or people get in and out on public roads, I feel like I'm in the validation the final validation stage and I'm not where I'm not I I'm not putting my employees are people. I'm not putting them at any kind of safety risk.
