[Music] When we have the ninth house ruler coming into the first house, we have a need for broader experience, inspiration, and how we insult ourselves, inspire. There's this need for excitement and growth, uh, seeking of higher education. The quest for truth comes through the persona. So all of the activities of the ninth house, the expansiveness of it, the adventurousness of it, it's present in the countenance of someone, how they present themselves, the first flush of personality.
[Music] So the ninth house is a part of how one, you know, presents themselves initially, how they project themselves into their environment. And it's a part of how they frame the entire whole of their reality. So we have a Sagittarian, Jupiterian ninth house flare to life in general when the ninth is in the first. Humor is a big part of the persona, as well as there's a big appetite for travel, philosophy, adventure. More the, the theme of "more" is strong in the persona, and the physical appetite can itself be quite large. Jupiter makes everything bigger, broader, more decadent. So we're talking about this, uh, ninth house bigness that is in those experiences are coming through the physical self itself, the physical persona itself. So the, um, the Santa Claus factor that we associate with Sagittarius and Jupiter in the ninth house, it's very, very present in how someone appears. So we can see, um, an element of overdoing that's present in the persona. Teachers, archaeologists, religious teachers, tour guides, vagabonds, these are all ninth house experiences that can happen through the first. We can have a variety, uh, adventurers, you know, from people who don't settle to people who, um, you know, themselves go on a mission in some way. Many people find pleasure in living a more transient lifestyle when they have the ninth in the first. A positive outlook on life is very likely with the ninth house ruler in the first, unless the ninth house ruler is aspected harshly. Look to see how the experiences of the ninth house are going to be supported or have challenges, and aspects will show you that.
[Music] When the ninth house ruler comes into the second house, the ninth house of decadence, travel, the abstract mind, inspiration, and hope is coming into the house of earned income, self-esteem, art, sensuality, our tastes, and our personal resources. It's our physical needs that we have in the second house. So look to how the ruler of the ninth is aspected to see the potentials for wealth. If we see good aspects to the ruler of the ninth, especially if the ruler of the ninth is Jupiter or Venus itself, it can point to added income, hopefulness, positive outlook on income. The ninth house ruler in any house is gonna show where we're most hopeful or most buoyant, and what types of experiences are likely to be laced with luck. So possessions and income can come easier and bigger if the ninth house ruler is aspected well in the second. So if we have, um, say Capricorn ruling the ninth and Saturn in the second house in Gemini, square to Mercury in Pisces, then we can see a more negative outlook and diminished hopes due to feeling unprepared, having a lack of routine, paying too close attention to what goes wrong, fear of failure, lack of training, the things that come up as a result of having that particular square. What squares mean, especially between those two planets, that's going to have an effect on the contents of the second house. Saturn can be slower gains, and in Gemini, it's mastering day-to-day interpersonal relations, building success in the vein of sales, marketing, ideas, advertising, using our brain. So it's a nerd Saturn. So square to Mercury in Pisces, there can be a frustration about how we go about managing daily life, the lack of self-discipline that we see in Pisces. So the context for that action and lack of discipline can affect personal wealth, self-regard, how one broadly explores in the context of the second house. So with hard aspects, difficult aspects, things that are making the achievement of that hopefulness, and therefore that that wealth, more difficult, um, we can see someone who's less adventurous, less hopeful, and this can often result in failure to attract the kind of luxury that one desires.
[Music] When the ninth house ruler comes into the third house, we have the house of adventure, positivity, good fortune, the quest for truth, higher learning, that's coming into the house of opinions, personal facts, those we come into contact with in our close environment, siblings, neighbors, what is local to us is all in the third house. So we have the house of what is learned and come to a broad coming through the house of basic learning and everyday kinds of education. So we have the opposing house overlay here. With this particular overlay, there can be overconfidence in the things of the third house. We can have a Dunning-Kruger effect with this particular placement. One can believe that they know more than they actually do, and this can be especially true with, you know, particular placements like Mercury ruling the ninth coming into the third in Sagittarius, and then if there's any aspect to Jupiter, that can show overconfidence, and that's going to come through the experiences of the third house. We can also be very, very talented with foreign languages, being able to, um, just pick them up like it's something easy. It's not something we study so much as, uh, something that comes natural to someone who has the ninth and the third. There's also added bravery when we have the ninth house coming through the third house because we have hope, the galvanizing power of hope coming into the third house of courage and how we face everyday obstacles. There's also a quest for truth through acquiring different opinions, ideas, conversation. So the epistemology of the ninth house, the higher mind of the ninth house, is brought down to the common level with the ninth in the third. Luck and good fortune can abound in how someone negotiates, makes deals, learns new skills, acquires facts. So we bring a little bit of sunshine, a little bit of hope to those in our daily life when we have this particular placement. Good humor is going to come through casual conversation, and it can be very easy to communicate. There can be a lot of communication, unless the ninth house ruler is harshly aspected. So the ninth ruler, you know, coming through Capricorn can make communication less buoyant due to Capricorn's conservative nature. The ninth ruled by Aquarius, say, and Uranus comes into Leo in the third, uh, that can bring a more audacious way of learning and communicating and sharing ideas because there's less of a regard for formalities. So look at how the ninth house ruler's aspected in the third to show you the type of communication and the level of confidence.
[Music] When the ninth house ruler comes into the fourth house, we have the ninth house experiences of more things that we learn and pick up abroad, expansiveness, hopefulness, higher mind, and education coming through the privacy of one's own home and one's close intimate environment, and where we're most subjective and most feeling, it's all fourth house stuff. So the learning and exploring of the ninth house, that's less known, that's more personal, it's, it's private in the fourth house, and it's often unknown to others unless they ask. It's something that we keep closer to the vest. So books, education, the tools of broadening one's knowledge are not necessarily advertised with the ninth house in the fourth house. It becomes an introverted experience. Ninth house experiences also will have a lot to do with one's psychological stability and emotional well-being, since the fourth house is where we find the foundation of our emotional and psychological, uh, well-being and the stability of that. So if the ninth house ruler is aspected harshly, then it can indicate an early environment that was lacking in hope, or the child felt that they were not believed in. Easy aspects to the ninth house ruler in the fourth can show that the early environment was supportive and offered opportunities. One felt good about being in the home. So with the ninth in the fourth, one feels hope and inspiration. Buoyancy can set the stage for an emotional life that is colored by positivity and ample faith. But hard aspects to the ruler of the ninth and the fourth, they can show the capacity for hope or buoyancy is challenged. So if the ninth house ruler's in a difficult aspect to the Sun or the Ascendant, then we can also see the philosophy of the parent or the upbringing being very different from one's identity or persona. That can cause personal tensions. And the ninth and the fourth in good aspects can be a wonderful placement because it brings good fortune into the family life. So it can show a large home, a comfortable home, a home of learning and of education, and a home where there are luxuries because we have experiences of decadence and luxury and overdoing and comfort all coming into the house of where we seek to feel comfort.
[Music] With the ninth house ruler in the fifth house, we have the house of exhilaration, being abroad, more experiences, higher learning, the higher mind, hopes coming into the house of fun, games, children, uh, risk, gambling, personal expression, and our hobbies, things that we choose to do or in the fifth house. So with the ninth and the fifth, we appropriate the ninth house experiences to our enjoyment. We enjoy the things of the ninth house. So we have a firehouse, the ninth coming through a firehouse, the fifth. It's easy to combine what these two areas of life mean. So we're exhilarated by ninth house activities and see them as sport. Teaching is fun and natural, especially coaching and teaching children, teaching things that are rough and tumble, things that are outside the challenge of children themselves can be seen as sport. There's lots of energy available with the ninth house in the fifth house. All fifth house activities have this added zeal. The ninth in the fifth also can lend itself to risky behavior because exploration, exhilaration is coming through activities that involve risk-taking, chances. So ninth house matters are taken less seriously when they come into the fifth. They are seen as a fuel for adrenaline. And this placement can also contribute to confidence, a can-do attitude. The ego can be puffed up if we see positive aspects to the ninth house ruler. If the ruler of the ninth is in good aspect to the ruler of the fifth, then we can see good fortune that can really seem to come easy due to one's charm, their positive outlook, their personal sparkle. So charm does come with the good aspects, and itself can lead to a self-fulfilling assessment of oneself. So we see bull riders, gamblers, those who make a living through sports, adrenaline junkies, people who take risks to win big gains. And with the ninth in the fifth, we see one who also sees children as part of their happiness and are a friend to their children.
[Music] When the ruler of the ninth house comes into the sixth house, we have the higher mind, expansion, exhilaration, adrenaline, hope, positivity, and our higher learning coming into the sixth house of what we do every day, the management of our lives, our daily work, um, our health, healing, and, uh, how we go about the daily hours of our lives so as to allow a lot to do with our routines and the health of our lives really has a lot to do with good routines. So the largeness of the ninth house comes into a more structured environment, more structured experiences of the sixth. So we find the hope and the positive things of the ninth house coming through more everyday experiences. So we want to be more knowledgeable about analysis, about our job, about the things that we have to do every day. So it brings the things of Jupiter more down to a practical level. We can do a lot of learning about herbs, healing, nursing, pets, service skills, exercise, our routines. We learn and educate ourselves about all of the things that are practical, that are useful to us. So it makes the, the, uh, the seeking of the ninth house more tangible. We, we, um, seek to better ourselves with the ninth in the sixth. So the warmth and the caring and the, the positivity of the ninth house is within the sixth house environment. So it is something that makes the things of the sixth house a easier place to be. It can make us enjoy the things of the sixth house, which typically we see that is, you know, pretty dry, dry experiences. But there is a, um, an exhilaration that can come to just the daily hours of our lives. And we can see the, the caringness of the, the ninth house because it is a warm, positive place. We could see that warmth and that caring being directed towards co-workers, those that we manage, veterinarians, our own pets, people that we come into contact with on a daily basis. So one would hope that your bus driver, for instance, has the ninth house ruler coming into the sixth, because that would be a much more entertaining and friendly bus ride than what we are used to.
When the ruler of the ninth house comes into the seventh house, the descendant, the ninth house experiences need to be shared. We want to experience them with others. So we have the ninth house of hope and expansion and learning and travel and what we gain abroad coming into where we have relationships, where we are looking for another person to enjoy and to enjoy life with and, and to find fulfillment with. So Jupiter becomes a social thing, in, uh, the ninth house becomes a social thing when it comes into the seventh house. So, uh, education, travel, all of the things that bring us a sense of exhilaration and give us a reason to wake up and get out of bed in the morning, our reasons for hope, we combine those with others. We find that the shared experience, having that be something that we can, you know, the things of the ninth house, we can bring those to others. We look for those in others. So the experiences are more social in nature. To how the ruler of the ninth house is aspected when it's in the seventh, because hard aspects will show us that there is a difficulty or challenges or obstacles to having those ninth house experiences occur. So, um, if we have, uh, Jupiter in the seventh house ruling the ninth but in the seventh, and in a hard aspect, especially to Saturn or to Uranus, we can have people or partners or others that have very different belief systems from ours. If we have, um, Libra ruling the ninth house and coming into the seventh house, so we have Venus, then this can, good aspects, this can make it easy to feel that hope and dreams and ideas, expansiveness, that's all easy to share. That becomes a benefit to our partnerships, and we won't expect to see philosophical or religious differences. If we have Uranus ruling the ninth house and coming into the seventh, and in, uh, good or bad aspects to other planets, we can have partners who have very different ideas and belief systems. They're not automatically going to be in conflict. So since Uranus in the seventh house is looking for partners in the first place who are very different, so, um, easy aspects will make it, you know, easier to sort of, uh, fold those differences into our lives, and hard aspects will make it more difficult.
[Music] And religion is also a social experience when we have the ninth house ruler in the seventh, because the beliefs and the sort of ecclesiastical nature of the ninth house is something that we engage in with other people. So we can see someone who really, really enjoys their religion because of the social aspect that it brings to their life.
When the ninth house ruler comes into the eighth house, it's a very complex placement because we have the ninth house of hopes and positivity and elation coming into the house of crisis and death and difficulty and darkness and what is underneath and what is occulted, what is hidden from us, what's not visible. So we have the affirmation of life, which is ninth house experiences, coming through eighth house experiences, which are about death and about renewal as well. So there's a crisis of faith when the ninth house ruler comes into the eighth. There is an extinguishing of all that we had hoped for, all that we had believed. Definitely the religion and belief system or philosophy that we were raised with, that is all going to be put to the test, and many times we burn through it and find something, something more true, although that original foundational belief system is a, is, is included, is it enfolded in what the new understanding of life is. So there's a, uh, sort of a resurrection of that originality of the ninth house.
[Music] So it's a, a placement where we're gonna have experiences of of hopes and exhilaration really coming through confrontation with dark things, getting through to the other side, finding out the mysteries of ourselves and life, what is behind the curtain. Those lead to those experiences of of, um, feeling that something has been reaffirmed, that that, that there is happiness in the world. So it is a more, [Music] uh, potentially negative placement of Jupiter, but there are also potentials for having deep, deep insights that can bring a, that can pierce through the comforts that are the basis for many, many of our belief systems, and we can find comfort through understanding what the motivation for comfort is. So there's a depth of knowledge, a depth of education, a depth of of, of learning that can happen with the ninth house experience coming through the eighth. The debt that we deal with can be greater with ninth house coming through the eighth. Our riches can be found more in insight and in things that can bring more lasting or true happiness, understanding some, you know, deep metaphysical mysteries or, uh, you know, just truths about humanity, the psyche.
[Music] Gaining wealth that really is is most meaningful. So we can lose a lot when we have the ninth house ruler in the eighth, but what we gain is of a greater importance and, um, closer to the truth than many other placements of the ninth house ruler.
When the ninth house ruler comes into the ninth house itself, the ninth house experiences are being served by the ninth house. So there's a purity of experience when we have a ruler in its own house. So this is a very beneficial placement for most people, even the difficult, uh, the difficult, uh, signs such as, you know, Capricorn or, um, sometimes even Virgo. The rulers tend to perform very well. Nevertheless, in the ninth house, you do want to look at aspects to see if the ninth house ruler is a negative aspect to a planet, if, because you're looking at the capacity for the ninth house to fulfill it's, its, uh, job. So we have somebody who is doubly interested in education, travel, expansion, going different places to acquire new knowledge, reading, education, philosophy. All those things are going to be how they achieve all of those things. So it's, it's a happy placement. It's, um, one where people are ready for opportunity, they are engaged with life, they are encouraging and looking for encouragement, and there is the possibility that one will gain wisdom when they have the ninth house ruler in the ninth.
[Music] When the ninth house ruler comes to the tenth house, we have the house of education, philosophy, religion, belief systems, hope, and expansion coming through the house of career, what is public, the reputation that we build, and our idea of the perfect personality that we would like to eventually be. So the culmination of what we're going to grow up to become is found in the 10th house, and it is our career as well. So when you, when, uh, the ninth house things come through tenth house experiences,
[Music] The, the ninth house is part of our, our, uh, pursuits. It's part of our becoming. It's part of our experiences of what it is to become an individual, to grow up and individuate from our parents, and, and to become a good citizen. So it brings some hope and some expansion and some growth into experiences that are typically quite dry or are more focused. So we have some of the, the fun and the elation of the ninth house informing what we want to be.
[Music] So we can easily make a profession out of ninth house things. So we can see, you know, people that become high up in their religious institutions, people who are known for inspiring others, uh, people such as Tony Robbins, who can, you know, make a career out of, uh, coaching people or inspiring people or teaching people, and it can become part of our public reputation. So ninth house experiences are a part of what our plan is for our life. It can be more difficult if the ninth house ruler is coming in through fixed signs or, uh, very concrete signs like Taurus or Capricorn. It can be harder to change our belief systems, our minds. It can be harder to let go of those original beliefs that we were raised with, because things in the 10th house are really about becoming more solid or more concrete, growing into something. So with, uh, at easy aspects, um, say from Jupiter itself to the ruler of the ninth house coming into the tenth, we can't see more, uh, of a potential for flexibility or for changing our mind or allowing new thoughts or experiences to be digested. But we can also see some amount of dogmaticness, close-mindedness, that can occur if we have the ruler of the ninth house and the tenth in difficult aspects to other planets, especially with Pluto. There can be a, a difficulty in accepting, um, new information because it can seem more as a threat to our stability or to the things that we have built and invested in in the 10th house.
When the ruler of the ninth house comes into the 11th house, we have the house of inspiration and learning and religion and belief systems and our hopes, what we learn abroad, coming into the house of our friends, our broader social systems, our community at large, uh, our network, and we want to share the things of the ninth house with everybody. There's a way we want to bring it to the masses or to the public and have it be something that other people also adopt because it, there's such a fervor, such a, um, such a personal love of the things of the ninth house. So we can see missionaries, we can see people who, uh, invest in in gaining larger numbers when it comes to their belief system or enlarging their group. There's a lot of, um, of adrenaline and, and just feeling reinvigorated when it comes to participating in ninth house things with others or in a larger social group. So a lot of people who have this position will love to go to church. They'll love to participate in the rituals that really define their belief system or their religion. They are, you know, finding it to be, um, something that brings them a sense of purpose in their life. So sharing it, it's very similar to having ninth house ruler coming into the seventh, that is social, but that's more sharing with the people more in our in the immediacy of our life. The ninth coming into the 11th is a bit different, and it's still social, but it's more broadly so. So rather than, you know, like the people that we know fairly well, our closer friends, our partners, you know, participating in ninth house things when the ninth house ruler comes into the seventh, we're participating with a congregation, with an entire makeup of different types of people. When the ninth comes through the 11th, it can be a very dogmatic position as well if we have a more close-minded or, um, I would say, [Music] belief-rabid ninth house ruler going on there. So look at how much flexibility is is there. It, it does tend to increase the idea that one is correct when the ninth comes into the 11th. There doesn't tend to be an automatic review of what the ninth house experiences or belief systems are. That is something that can come with the ninth in the 11th if we have certain aspects or other things going on that would indicate a crisis of faith. That can have this position deliver some radically enlightening insights, but if that's not present in the in the chart overall, or if we don't have, um, certain combinations that will lend themselves towards introspection, then this is typically going to be a position where someone assumes that the things of the ninth house are the most moral and correct and should be brought to the public at large.
[Music] When the ruler of the ninth house comes into the 12th house, we have the house of knowledge, exploration, hope, elation, wisdom coming into the 12th house of secrets, what is unknown, dreams, what is under the surface, the collective human soup,
[Music] The collective unconscious, solitude, spirituality. So we want to learn about the things of the 12th house. So wisdom can come through solitude, aloneness, observation, inquiring into one's own mysteries. It can be a very enlightening placement. So one is, it very much looking for the truth through metaphysics, through what is obscured or mystical, what, what is beneath the appearance or behind the appearance of things. So looking to know the mysteries of life, what is behind it all. And, um,
[Music] A profundity can can occur, really understanding or coming to to learn about, to know the profound things of the psyche or of oneself or of humanity. There's also the ability to learn deep things, to discover great wisdom, but to keep it to oneself, to be able to to keep the secrets. And the matters of the ninth house tend to happen more alone or more in spiritual centers or ashrams or forests or places of nature or solitude. It is solitude or quietness or stillness that really can bring the wisdom or open the door to the wisdom that the ninth house is so intent on gaining.
