Stop styling your wavy hair like it's curly. They are not the same and they should not be treated the same. Got it?

This is my in-depth wavy hair routine and how I get my hair from this to this. Fine, wavy, or curly hair behaves so differently than thick, coarse curly hair. Most curly hair routines you see online are not designed for fine, fragile, delicate waves or curls. If you feel like your hair gets stringy easily or if you have super fine, easily weighed down hair, you have come to the right place.

First things first, we do not brush or rake products through our hair after we get out of the shower. Brushing and raking through my hair after I get out of the shower makes my hair look really stringy. It breaks up my wave pattern. Either really gently brush your hair before you get into the shower and then you can brush and detangle in the shower as well, or you can just brush and detangle in the shower.

These are my two current favorite brushes. This is the Tangle Teaser brush for fine hair. The bristles are super soft and flexible and I've been really liking this Love Your Curls brush for brushing and detangling my hair while I'm in the shower. It really smooths my hair out and clumps all my hair together.

I apply my products onto damp hair, not spring wet hair. If you notice that you have frizz while your hair is wet, just rewet those areas a tiny bit. Because if you have frizz when your hair is wet, you're going to have more frizz when your hair is dry.

Now that my hair is damp, I'm going to apply my first product. Obviously, I love this. This is the JVN air dry cream. That is all I use for my entire head. Less is more when you have fine hair. And I emulsify it in water. Really, really thinning this cream out. And then I just smooth it onto my hair. I'm not raking it through. Smoothing it all over.

A lot of people had questions on what I meant by pressing product into my hair rather than scrunching. This is what I mean. Just squeezing the product into my hair gently. And instead of vigorously scrunching and scrunching and scrunching, I will press. Just press. You can scrunch. It just needs to be so gentle and slow, if that makes sense. I see a lot of people scrunching and scrunching and scrunching. All you're doing when you do that is breaking up all of your waves.

And now I'm just going to take a little bit of mousse. I have a lot of favorite mouses. Taking about that much, evenly spreading it onto my hands, and just gently smoothing that onto my hair. Again, just pressing that really gently into my scalp. I'm going to diffuse my hair, and I'll be back.

Now that my hair is completely dry, I'm going to add a tiny bit of oil just to get any frizz that I might have. Gently scrunch that into my hair. And that is the finished hair routine. Let me know if you have any questions. If you try any of these techniques out, please let me know if they worked for you. And I will see you in the next video. Bye.
