Fr. Joseph Iannuzzi: "When the Divine Will comes on Earth, it will come to a holy remnant.."

The Divine Will20:02

Transcription

Thanks for tuning in to the third video here, and for this one, I'd like to share this from Father Iannuzzi explaining to us what happens when the divine will comes on Earth. Listen to this.

>> When the divine will comes on Earth, it will come to a remnant just like in after the days of Noah, after the days of the flood of Noah, I should say. A holy remnant, a royal priesthood that has emerged from the days of purification. And this will be what is known as the era of universal peace or the era of the divine will on Earth or the Eucharistic reign of Jesus or the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary or the second Pentecost. There are different names by which it goes, but it's the same reality. God's will will reign in the hearts of all those people on Earth for an extended period of time that is not defined by any number. We cannot say that it will literally be 1,000 years. We cannot say that. That's a figurative expression. I know some people say literally 1,000, but that's not a Catholic teaching.

Even Cardinal Danielou, a contemporary of Cardinal Ratzinger, stated that and this comes from his work, A History of Early Christian Doctrine, on pages 377 and 379. He [snorts] states in this regard, "The era of peace implies a period of time, a duration of which is unknown to men that is mentioned in the New Testament in 1 and 2 Thessalonians, in 1 Corinthians, and in the Book of Revelation and so forth. But it's a period of duration unknown to men. Okay?

Now, this period of peace has been taught in the early centuries of the church as an intermediate stage. Called Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, church doctor from the 12th century, calls it an intermediate stage. And saints, the doctors and fathers of the church, Saints Augustine and Cyril of Jerusalem, also address this as an era of peace between the incarnation and the final coming of Christ in the flesh, where Christ reigns invisibly in our hearts. It's not a physical coming of Christ to earth, you see, where he lives on earth again. Comes back to earth. And if any saint should visit earth, like through an apparition, they don't We cannot say they come back to earth. That's a false expression. So, we cannot say Luisa will come back to earth. That is just pure heresy. We can say Luisa and other saints may visit us through maybe an apparition or through a dream, but it's simply a visitation, similar to the visitations of Mary and Jesus when they make appearances, apparitions, right? And the church refers to these in its dictionary as apparitions, visions, locutions. These are different manifestations of God or the saints revealing themselves to us. They're not coming back to earth, okay? Let us be sure of that.

This teaching has of these church fathers on the intermediary coming of Christ, in which the kingdom of God will reign on earth as in heaven, has nothing in common with the heresy of millenarianism. Among these early church writers, noteworthy are the apostolic church fathers who promoted this intermediary coming. And they are Saints Papias, Justin Martyr, and Irenaeus of Lyons. The early ecclesiastical writers, such as the author of the Epistle of Barnabas, Tertullian, Saint Hippolytus of Rome, Origen, Saint Methodius of Olympus, and Lactantius. Also, the church fathers and doctors, as I mentioned, Saints Augustine and Cyril of Jerusalem, the church doctor Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, and the Roman Pontiffs Saints John the 23rd and John Paul the 2nd.

Now, these teachings of these learned men on a period of or era of universal peace before the final coming of Christ are systematically presented in a publication bearing the preface of two Catholic bishops entitled The Splendor of Creation. And you can order that book on the website livinginthedivinewill.org.

Now, before presenting a summary of these scholars, these teachings of the early church fathers, doctors, writers, and Popes, I recall the Italian biblical scholar Father Martino Penassa, who in 1990 addressed the subject of an era of universal peace before the Christ's final coming in an article entitled Is a new era of Christian life imminent? In Italian, the title is È imminente una nuova era di vita cristiana? And Father Penassa visited Monsignor Garofalo, the consultant to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, and spoke to him on the scriptural foundation of a universal era of peace. Convinced by the force of Father Penassa's presentation, Monsignor Garofalo encouraged him to discuss the matter directly with the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger.

Cardinal Ratzinger responded to Father Penassa's question with the following statement. The question is still open to free discussion. That is the question of is it possible for there to be a universal period of peace, for Christ to have an imminent I'm sorry. An intermediary coming that is invisible where he reigns in the hearts of all people on Earth. Or the divine will is lived in all people on Earth. Is it possible before the final coming of Christ? So, the cardinal responded, "The question is still open to free discussion as the Holy See has not made any definitive pronouncement in this regard." And that's a verbatim quote from the Italian La questione è ancora aperta alla libera discussione giacché la Santa Sede non si è ancora pronunciata in modo definitivo.

Well, Cardinal Ratzinger's theological response finds its provenance in the age-old teaching of the Church Fathers, Doctors, Pontiffs, and saints who wrote on the reality of an historic future era of universal peace. Their teachings have nothing in common with the heresy of millenarianism, which was condemned by Pope Zephyrinus, the Council of Ephesus, Pope Pius the 11th, and Pope Pius the 12th. To give an idea, a summary of the various false teachings associated with millenarianism millenarianism throughout the centuries, consider that in its early stages, millenarianism, originally known in the Greek as chiliasm, was relatively a simplistic and conspicuous doctrine. Namely, Christ will reign physically on Earth before the final coming. In the flesh for literally 1,000 years, and will revel with his saints in a moderate carnal banquets replete with foods and drinks of all imaginable species.

Now, this early heresy, still in its nascent stage of Christian doctrine, this utopian hedonism was denounced by St. Augustine and the early corpus of Christian faith uh faithful, and later formally condemned by the Council of Ephesus. It was a heresy that was attributed to the early Jewish converts to the Christian faith, who being accustomed to dependency on an oral tradition, misinterpreted in a literal sense the allegories of sacred scripture. And we too can misinterpret Luisa's writings in the literal sense, too. So, apart from the doctrinal nuances that include a thousand-year reign of Christ visibly in the flesh on Earth before the final coming, an anti-hierarchical church, a non-sacramental church, a sinless society of individuals who indulge in a modern immoderate carnal banquets. Those who promote millenarianism share the following doctrine. Before the general judgment, Christ will descend to a geographic location on Earth where he will remain in the flesh and reign visibly for literally 1,000 years.

These false teachings have absolutely nothing in common with the teachings of the Church Fathers, Doctors, Pontiffs, and Saints on a universal era of peace before the final coming of Christ, or on the third fiat of sanctification Luisa speaks about. Rather, these Church Fathers, Doctors, Pontiffs, Saints, Luisa teach of a period in human history that comes after after the defection of faith and the spirit of Antichrist and before the final coming of Christ. It is a period within human history when the Holy Spirit as in a new Pentecost outpours himself upon mankind. Unlike the millenarian teachings of A, a non-sacramental and non-hierarchical church comprised of B, a sinless society conceived without sin, where C, Christ reigns in the flesh on Earth, D, for literally 1,000 years. The Christian teachings on an era of peace on a third fear of sanctification present A, a sacramental and hierarchical church comprised of B, holy Christians conceived in sin and baptized from original sin, C, in whom the Holy Trinity indwells as any living tabernacle, and D, for a prolonged period of time not confined to a literal interpretation.

For this reason, as I mentioned earlier, Jean Cardinal Danielou, renowned theologian and contemporary to Cardinal Ratzinger, addressed the issue of an era of universal peace and its antithesis of millenarianism. I don't have to repeat that to you, of course. That quote I already mentioned. But uh let us look at the quotes of the Popes and some mystics in this regard. First, Pope John the 23rd. 50 years before Pope John the 23rd Second Vatican Council, Jesus had told the venerable Conchita de Armida from Mexico, uh in quotes, "On sending to the world a new Pentecost, I want it inflamed, purified, illuminated by the light and fire of the Holy Spirit. The last stage of the world must be marked very specially by the effusion of the Holy Spirit. He must reign in hearts and in the entire world, not so much for the glory of his person as for making the Father loved and bearing testimony of me. May the whole world have recourse to this Holy Spirit since the day of his reign has arrived. The last stage of the world belongs very specially to him that he may be honored and exalted. May all at once this Holy Spirit begin to be called on with prayers, penances, and tears with the ardent desire of his coming. He will come. I will send him again clearly manifest in his effects which will astonish the world and impel the church to holiness. Unquote."

>> [snorts] >> Here clearly Jesus is telling Venerable Conchita, whose writings have the church's seals of approval, this second Pentecost will come with all its effects. It won't be the Pope proclaiming the kingdom of God's will, the Pope living in the kingdom that will make it come about. No, it's the Holy Spirit who will do it. You see?

Similarly, the approved works of Luisa Piccarreta, the Third Order Dominican, have described a future millennium of unity and holiness, and this new millennium, Jesus tells Luisa, will witness an explosion of mystical gifts, particularly that of living in the Divine Will, and is a process that restores creation to its original splendor through the activity of God's will in the human will, through our divine acts. To Luisa, Jesus reveals that the aim of man's existence is to live in God's Divine Will. So, Jesus states to Luisa, in quotes, "Now we have arrived at approximately the 32,000 years since man's creation and there will be a third renewal. This is the reason for the general confusion, which is nothing other than the preparation for the third renewal. If the second renewal if in the second renewal I manifested what my humanity did and suffered and very little of what my divinity was accomplishing now when this third renewal after the earth will be purged and a greater part of the current generation destroyed I will be even more generous with creatures and I will accomplish this renewal by manifesting what my divinity did within my humanity. I will manifest how my divine will cooperated with my human will how everything remained linked within me how I did and redid everything and how each even each thought of every soul was redone by me and sealed with my divine will. That comes from volume 12, January 29th, 1919.

He also tells her in volume 12, February 8th, 1921 ah my daughter, the creature always races more into evil, but while they occupy themselves and going their way, I will occupy myself with the completion and fulfillment of my Fiat Voluntas Tua so that my will shall reign on earth but in an all new manner. I will occupy myself to prepare the era of the third Fiat in which my love will be demonstrated in a marvelous and unheard of manner. He tells her in volume 15, May 2nd, 1923. When my Fiat Voluntas Tua has its its fulfillment on earth as it is in heaven, then the second part of the Paternoster will be fulfilled. That is, give us today our daily bread. And on May 17th, 1925, volume 17, if creation is attributed to the Father, the divine persons always being united in their works, redemption is attributed to the Son. And the Fiat Voluntas Tua will be attributed to the Holy Spirit. It is precisely in this Fiat Voluntas Tua where the work of the Holy Spirit will overflow. And this is repeated in two passages, in volume 23, February 5th, 1928, in volume 12, May 2nd, 1921, My daughter, when Adam sinned, God gave him the promise of a future redeemer. Now, by my coming from heaven to form the kingdom of redemption, I made another more solemn promise before departing from heaven for heaven, the kingdom of my will on earth, which is contained in the Our Father prayer. It must come, and souls must await it with the same certainty with which they awaited the future redeemer. You see?

So, when we speak of God's kingdom coming to earth, in this intermediate coming of the Holy Spirit, some refer to it as an intermediate coming of Christ, namely, St. Bernard of Clairvaux. More specifically, it's a It's a coming It's a pneumat- pneumatological coming. Pneuma means in Greek spirit. So, pneumatological means either a study of the Holy Spirit, or in this case, when we say pneumatological coming, it's a coming of the Holy Spirit. So, it can be referred to as an intermediary coming of Christ or a second Pentecost in as much as the Son and the Spirit are inseparable. But, they take turns. The Son redeems, the Spirit sanctifies, the Father creates. All three are inseparable.

>> [snorts] >> So, the Spirit is fulfilling the Son's work. Did not John say in his gospel chapter 16 verse 12, or rather quoting Jesus who says to the disciples, "I have many things to tell you, but you are not yet ready to receive them. I will therefore send another in my name." See, in my name. That's why it's also referred to as the intermediate coming of Christ because the Spirit comes in his name. "I will send another in my name who will remind you of things I have taught you and reveal all the truth to you." So, Jesus says in John 16:12 that the Spirit will be sent to complete his work. That is to remind people of what he said and to lead them to all the truth that Jesus began to reveal them. To that Jesus began to reveal to them. So, that's why it's referred to both as a second Pentecost and as an intermediate coming of Christ, you see. But, it's not in the flesh. It's an invisible coming of Christ in our hearts. Yes, Christ may appear throughout this period of peace as I maintain, similar to the apparitions that happened between the resurrection and the ascension. Graves were opened and saints appeared everywhere. Jesus appeared in various places for 40 days. I believe something similar will happen during the era of peace. But, that's my theological opinion. I don't speak on behalf of the church. But, what is a sound teaching of the church is that there will be this intermediate coming of Christ. It's been taught by the fathers, doctors, saints, Pontus. John Paul II spoke of it. Uh John XXIII spoke of it. And mystics speak about it. And so we should embrace it with joy and certainty, but in the right way. So the kingdom of God on earth will not be established by the Pope first receiving it. Let us be clear. But by the Holy Spirit establishing his reign in all hearts. When the Pope universally proclaims it, then it will progress in leaps and bounds worldwide. But it can be established on earth even before the Pope proclaims it.

>> And that concludes the third video for this time. And as always, I hope you all have learned a lot from this one. And until the next video, thanks again for watching and listening, and may God bless you.
