Islam is the fastest growing religion on planet Earth. But why is it that every time this religion grows? The fear, on the other hand, grows as well. Especially after what happened during 9/11, a wave of misinformation. The West trying to portray Islam as a religion of hate, harm, terror.
I mean, I wasn't born as a Muslim. In fact, it's the complete opposite. I'm a European, born and raised in a Christian country in the West. I grew up with all these misconceptions and everything, hearing it on the news. I mean, fun fact, I was born in 2001, the year where 9/11 happened. I was believing everything that I saw on the news until I started doing my own research. And to my surprise, I found a religion with a faith based on peace, justice, clarity.
So then why is it possible that on one hand, it is the fastest growing religion, but at the same time, the West is trying to attack it, making it look like it's the worst religion ever? Well, today in this video, we're going to talk about that. Because after doing some deep, deep research, I found a true story behind all those news items, the misinformation, the Islamophobia, the hate that the West is trying to put in the minds of people. And I want to start this video off by sharing a very interesting verse in the Quran where Allah says, "They wish to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouth, but Allah will perfect His light, even though the disbelievers hate it." And this actually illustrates perfectly what is happening today.
And the first reason that I found on why the western world is actually fearing the spread of Islam so much and trying to fight back against it is because Islam provides structure, morality, and true purpose, which is a direct challenge to the chaos of modern materialism. You know, the problem is that the western systems, they thrive on moral confusion and consumerism. I mean, you know this western world is turning into a place of chaos. You see that people are getting lost. They follow their desires, their pleasures, from partying to drugs legalization, alcohol, mass consumption, food industries, everything like that. And we'll dive deeper into this later throughout the video. But what I want you to realize is that Islam is providing the answer, the structure, and the peace that people are actually looking for. It is the actual opposite of the chaotic system that the West has built for themselves.
There is a narration of the Prophet, peace be upon him, where he says that before the Hour, the end of times, there will be years of deception in which the liars will be believed and the truthful, they will be disbelieved. You see that right now, world leaders that only have their minds on profit, power, and control. They determine what's on the news, and the peace that Islam offers indirectly is fully against the materialism, the western profit system that has been built.
And that brings me to my second reason. It is that Islam also is an economic threat to the West because of the rejection of interest, *ribba*, as they call it in Islam. You know, the western banks, they run fully on debt and interest, while Islam fully bans it. It is strictly forbidden in the religion. And while this is actually something of recent times, the Prophet already told us and warned us for this time that will come. In a narration, he says, "A time will come upon the people when everyone will consume interest, *ribba*, and if he does not consume it, its dust will reach him." Meaning, there will come a time, which is actually happening right now, where it's almost impossible to not be involved in interest, from buying houses, getting loans, investments in businesses, all the way to the little things such as your phone subscription, there is interest charged in everything. And while this may sound beautiful as a beautiful solution where you can buy things now, pay later, pay in installments, all this beautiful nonsense, it is actually breaking the system on the long term. It is what caused all the economic crises of recent years. It is making the rich richer and the poor poorer. And while Islamic finance promotes fairness and stability in the economy, the West actually built a trap for themselves, which worked on the short term, but is creating real problems on the long term. And we start to feel that right now in the economic system because a system built on *ribba*, on interest, collapses when greed stops working. And Islam offers an alternative.
And now, the third reason is the psychological threat. I mean, look at the statistics of the West. The mental health stats, depression, anxiety, suicide rates. I mean, in the beginning of this video, I told you how the West is getting lost. The people in there, it's breaking down. But it's not just my opinion. You can look at the statistics. Like I said, depression, anxiety, suicide, all these kinds of things. But the western system is built around that because companies, they profit from anxiety, comparison, and it creates constant buying. I mean, the first things that you learn in the western world when doing business is marketing techniques, psychology around FOMO, fear of missing out, comparison, anxiety. And in a lot of European and Western countries, the healthcare industry generates a lot of money. So why do they care? Depression, anxiety, mental illness, and even health issues in general. They are just good for the system because it brings in money. The western world is telling you, you need more and more and more. It's never enough. While Islam, again, is doing the complete opposite. It teaches contentment. It is teaching you to have peace with less because no matter how much money you have, you can always have more. So that's not the thing that will make you happy.
There is a narration that talks about depression and it talks about during the end of times. There will come moments when people pass by graves and say that they will wish to be dead. You see that happening right now. People are lost. They don't know what they want. They don't know what they need. They don't know what brings them happiness in life. And this is where Islam is providing a beautiful answer. But the problem is for the West. Even though this is of course the beautiful solution for all mankind, it is not good for the economics. It's not good for the pocket, for the money.
And now let's talk about another thing. Reason four, the social threat. I mean, again, I'm not just making assumptions or giving my opinion. I'm talking about statistics. I mean, if you look just 20 to 50 years ago, how united families were, the structure of the families, the way they raised children, the birth rate, everything. It is completely different to how it happens nowadays. I mean, in recent years, the western world, the western system has normalized for both parents to work full-time, both the husband and the wife. And they did this through feminist movements, raising prices, making it literally impossible to even pay the bills for a regular family if there was just one person working. And you know, it's all beautiful. It all sounds like an amazing plan. And I mean, I believe there's nothing wrong with women working and building on their careers. But again, let's look at the statistics. Families are divided. Children are not being fully raised by their parents anymore because parents are both working full-time. They are tired when they get home. And you see it happening in the divorce rates as well. Just 100 years ago, every marriage had an average of three to four children, while nowadays, it's only 1.2 kids on average per household. You see how it is declining? And I mean, of course, career is beautiful. It's important. But at the end of your life, what is more beautiful than a loving house full of children, an amazing family? We all fall into this trap while the West is only making us work more, buy more, consume more. And here, do I even need to say it? I mean, Islam, the complete opposite. Islam honors mothers and families in general. It is the answer to a healthy marriage. It provides the guidelines, the instructions, the roles, the responsibilities, and the rights of both men and women, the attention that you need to give to your children, the way you need to raise them. And that provides stable households, connected families. But again, that's not good for the Western system because divided families, they are easier to control. They are easier to manipulate also from a marketing and psychological perspective. Once again, it makes them buy more, do more, and it's easier to control them.
You know, this is what I'm talking about. During my research process, the deeper and deeper I started looking into this, I saw that Islam is not just a beautiful religion and that everything that they are saying in the news is completely not true. It is actually the opposite. It provides all the solutions to the problems in the West. And the things that I've mentioned so far are just the tip of the iceberg. I mean, let's speed it up a little bit.
What about safety, protection of women? I mean, modesty is what Islam promotes, is what Islam stands for, not because they hate women and they want to control them and never leave them out of the house. Because once again, I mean, the Western world, it actually was a Christian nation. Just go back a few couple hundred years ago and everyone was covering up, just the exact same way as the Muslims do nowadays. It's not even an Islamic thing. Christians used to do this all the time. But let's look at the statistics. The western world, crime rates, rapes, women being attacked randomly on the streets, weird compliments, weird things. Like, it's crazy. I mean, these rules in Islam are there to protect mankind. And you know, the thing that fascinates me, even though it was unthinkable 15,400 years ago, every woman was covering up, but the Prophet, he told us that this was about to happen. He says in a narration that towards the end of time, there will be women who are dressed, but yet they are naked. And I mean, look around right now. The way women dress, and we call it freedom. But what happened to modesty? What happened to respect? Respect of your own body. And I'm not just talking about women. I mean, the men as well. I mean, when I go to the gym sometimes, the men are dressing weirder than the women. Huh?
But here again, you know, the fashion industry, the entertainment, I mean, all the way up to the porn industry and everything like this, it is built on lust. It is built on appearance. And even though it is only creating a bigger mess, it is good for the pockets of the people that take advantage of it. And also other things such as the entertainment trap. You know, in Islam, you learn to control your desires. I mean, for example, many scholars agree on that music is actually forbidden because it distracts the mind and the heart. But not just music, also distraction in general. You know, scrolling 24/7, watching Netflix all day. It is something that a true practicing Muslim doesn't do because there's so much more you can do with your time. But the West has implemented this concept of the Roman circus, keeping the people distracted so that the people with power can easily maintain the control. You know, the media industry, the music, the entertainment, everything. It's simply a dopamine trap. I mean, it's simple. Entertainment equals destruction, and destruction equals control.
And to quickly come back to my point of modesty in general, it all leads to adultery, *zina*, you know, intercourse, relationships before marriage, broken hearts, teenage girls who are in relationships that just maybe 100 years ago were literally not normal. I mean, I don't even have words for this. How can we not see it? Islam provides the structure, the answers for all these issues.
And also from an intellectual and spiritual standpoint, a community who believes in God, in a higher power, in a higher purpose, they wake up with that purpose. They live their days, they spend their times with that purpose. And to the leaders of this world, that is dangerous. Because people that live with purpose, they stand for something. They are willing to fight for something. And while the whole western world and all the people in there are starting to compromise their values because they stand for nothing, the Muslims, they say, "Okay, we allow this, but not further than that. Nothing that goes against the will of God, the law of God." They really stand for something and they are willing to fight for that.
You know, the West promotes the worship of self, desires, and money. Follow that and it will make you happy. But Islam does the opposite. It calls to full submission to God. And there is one beautiful verse that illustrates this perfectly where it says in the Quran, "Have you not seen the one who takes his desires as his God?" And this one is giving me goosebumps because if you just open up your eyes and you look around in the western world, this is what everyone is doing. I mean, they are blindly following their desires, doing everything to just get those senses. While a true Muslim builds his life accordingly to God. It provides clarity, peace, and true purpose. The Muslims, they are not lost, even though they live in the western world, because they know how to navigate through that. They know how to fight against the system. You know, you have these gurus nowadays online saying you need to escape the matrix and this and that. And I always make this little joke. The only way to really escape the matrix, the western system, is by accepting Islam. Alhamdulillah, that's what I did. I was lost in this world. But once I accepted this religion, a peace in my heart, alhamdulillah, it's beautiful.
So don't be fooled. Look further than what the news is telling you. Don't just blindly follow your desires, but sit back, think, and reflect. May God bless you and I'll see you in the next video.
