He is the richest person on the planet. The Tesla CEO has hit a new milestone, becoming the first person in history to surpass a net worth of $300 billion. Elon Musk's net worth is above $320 billion. American presidents call him a genius and a disruptor. "He's a character. He's a special guy. Just a super genius. We have to protect our geniuses. We don't have that many of them." People call him the real-life Iron Man. With one tweet, this guy shakes up the entire crypto market. The value of cryptocurrency Dogecoin has climbed significantly following a tweet by Elon Musk. The world wants to be like him. Every kid, every startup founder dreams to be like him. That guy himself publicly says, "I'm not sure I wanna be me." Meaning, the person who is an idol for the whole world, everyone wants to be like him, he himself says that he doesn't even want to be like himself. Why is that? With a net worth of over $440 billion, this is so much money that even the world's second richest person is almost $200 billion less than him. This guy has had two wives and many girlfriends. He has 12 children. If this guy wanted, he could buy a small country overnight. Today, he lives alone in a 375 sq ft house. None of his children want to live with him. He doesn't have any co-founder, any investor with whom he hasn't had a dispute. Even employees don't want to work directly with him because he fires them on the spot. On one hand, this guy is doing superhero-level things, the world wants to be like him, and on the other hand, he himself is frustrated. No one stays with him long-term. I read this 700-page book in the last two months, and I felt that I should make a detailed documentary about him, after watching which no one would need to watch any other video to understand Elon Musk. But during research, I found so much data on this guy that I had to divide this documentary into two parts, and this is Part One. So, enjoy today's episode: Elon Musk - A Genius or Psycho? You must have seen many videos like "That India is not for beginners." In these videos, there are some peculiar actions of Indians that no one can even think of. And when I was researching Elon Musk, I found some peculiar actions of his that no normal person would ever think of doing. When Elon was young, he was bullied in school. He didn't have any friends either, which is why Elon mostly kept reading books instead of going to school. When Elon lived with his mom in Durban, he read all the books in the library there. I mean, he had read everything in the library in Durban. So, once Elon and his sister were sitting together, and his sister told him that the moon is a million miles away from us. But Elon, who would have been 10 to 11 years old at that time, said that the moon is not a million miles away, but 239,000 miles away. He was that accurate. Imagine in our India, when a 5-year-old child comes home from the school bus, his mother goes out to bring him from the gate to the house. Now, why am I telling you this? Once, when Elon was five years old, it was his cousin's birthday party. But on the same day, Elon Musk had gotten into a fight with a child at school. Therefore, his mother left him at home as a punishment, and everyone else went to the party. Now, what does this 5-year-old child do? See, Elon decided that he would go to the party by himself. But now the challenge before him was that his cousin's house was a two-hour distance from there, and since Elon was only 5 years old, he had neither a bike nor a car. So, guess what option he chose to reach the party? Elon literally set off on foot. He was so small that he didn't even understand road signs. But once he had gone to his cousin's house by car, he had seen the route, and based on that memory, he walked to his cousin's house. His mother was very scared to see him suddenly there, and after that incident, she never gave Elon such a punishment. Elon is not made for beginners. This was just a trailer; the movie is about to begin. Now, why Elon is not made for beginners, I will explain that to you thoroughly. But the story behind naming Elon, Elon, is also very interesting. Elon's parents once went on vacation to France. There is a city called Nice. And on that trip, in that city, Elon's mother, Maye Musk, got the news of her pregnancy. Now, just like in India, when a child's name has to be decided, it is mostly kept after a god or a historical figure. But in Western countries, children's names are mostly influenced by pop culture, based on a personal connection to something, or some unique name is kept so that the child stands out among others. So, when Maye Musk got the news of her pregnancy in Nice, France, she decided to name the child Nice. And even her husband, Errol, liked this idea. But later, I don't know what they thought, and they finally named the child Elon after his grandfather, Mr. J. Elon Haldeman. Now, since we are talking about Elon's peculiar actions, let's also discuss the peculiar actions of his grandfather and great-grandfather. And I am discussing Elon's family here because when I was researching Elon's family tree, I noticed a very interesting pattern. Just as Elon Musk is very chill and adventurous, his grandfather and great-grandfather were also very chill and adventurous. Elon's grandfather, in his time, won a race from Cape Town, the capital of South Africa, to Algiers, the capital of Algeria. And for your information, the distance between these two capitals is more than 10,000 kilometers. Elon's great-grandmother was Canada's first female chiropractor. And even more interesting, Elon's maternal grandparents went from South Africa to Australia in a single-engine propeller plane in 1954. And they were, and are, the only people in the whole world to do so. Interestingly, their stopover on this trip was India, and they also visited the Taj Mahal. With such actions from his family, forget "Elon is not made for beginners," we can even say that Elon's entire lineage is not made for beginners. Looking at Elon's family, it seems that Elon's family genes have been copy-pasted into him somewhere, which is why this guy does some eccentric things. Sometimes he makes a decision that no one has ever thought of. For example, when Elon was taking admission to a college in Canada, he had two options: Queens and Waterloo. Any normal student would decide to get admitted where the education is better. But Elon chose the college where there were more girls. Literally, Elon took admission to Queens for the girls because Elon felt that he already had as much knowledge as the professors. Therefore, he didn't need to study. Now, hearing such actions of Elon, anyone would be surprised, "Is this guy really a genius or a psycho?" Even many people today have no idea about Elon's relationships. Now listen carefully. Elon's first wife was Justine Wilson. Elon married her in January 2000, and they divorced in 2008. Elon had a total of six children with Justine, one of whom died. After this, in 2010, Elon married British actress Talulah Riley and divorced her in 2012. But just one year after this divorce, i.e., in 2013, he remarried Riley. And 3 years later, i.e., in 2016, he divorced her again. But even after being together for about 5 years, Elon and Riley did not have any children. After this, Elon started dating Canadian singer Grimes, but without marrying Grimes, he had three children with her. Now, after breaking up with Grimes as well, Elon started dating his company Neuralink's employee, Shivon Zilis, and now he also has three children with Shivon. That is, with one wife and two girlfriends, Elon now has a total of 11 children. And even after all this, Elon is now dating Australian actress Natasha Bassett. So, that was about his personal life. Let's now hear about his professional life's peculiar actions. In 2006, Tesla had prepared the prototype of its first car, and a big event was planned for its PR. Now, interestingly, Martin Eberhard, who is the co-founder and CEO of Tesla, had appointed Jessica Switzer as PR Chief for the company even before Elon Musk joined Tesla. It was quite successful, and a bigger problem arose. See, if we put our heart and soul into doing something, and someone else snatches the credit, anyone's mind would be disturbed. And if we talk specifically about Elon Musk, he goes to extremes in this. So, what happened was that at this Tesla event, this PR agency gave Martin Eberhard the full credit for the Tesla Roadster and showed Elon Musk only as an early investor and promoter. This bothered Elon so much that he emailed the VP of Tesla, saying that Tesla's PR Chief Jessica Switzer should be fired immediately. Even PCG Solutions was told that if something like this happened again, there would be no deal between PCG Solutions and Tesla. Do you think a normal person would go to such an extent just for credit? And if they did, they wouldn't do it this way. Only a slightly psycho person like Elon would do something like this. Now, this dispute was still with his coworkers, but you will be shocked to hear that once Elon Musk directly... If this matter reached this point, how did it happen? See, in September 2016, Zuckerberg had to launch his $200 million satellite, which was made to provide internet access to some parts of Africa, using Elon's SpaceX rocket. But due to some technical issues, this satellite explodes in a testing accident before the launch. After this incident, Zuckerberg deleted the official pages of Tesla and SpaceX from his book almost a year later and tweeted that he found these pages useless anyway. A few days after this whole matter, Elon admits his mistake, saying that SpaceX was at fault in Zuckerberg's satellite failure. But in this tweet, he adds one more thing. He says that Zuckerberg has taken insurance anyway, but if he still feels that he has suffered a loss, SpaceX will give him one free launch. But amidst all this, where did this cage fighting suddenly come from? Almost everyone knows that after Elon Musk acquired Twitter, Mark Zuckerberg launched Threads. And before its launch, many rumors had already spread. Meanwhile, Elon sarcastically tweeted that the world can no longer wait to dance to Zuckerberg's tune. Then a random user replied to this tweet jokingly, saying that Zuckerberg knows Jujutsu, which is a type of martial art. Elon, being Elon, replied that if needed, he is ready for a cage fight. Now, perhaps Elon might have said this jokingly, but Zuckerberg took it seriously and took a screenshot of Elon's tweet and directly... You must have seen thousands of YouTube videos about Elon Musk's dedication and his obsession with his work. Elon Musk, Elon Musk, Elon Musk. But I can bet that you have only heard about 1% of Elon Musk. Those 99% of things about Elon Musk that no YouTuber or creator has told you yet. Especially to cover them, I read this 700-page book and only then made this video. Just to find out how obsessed Elon Musk is with his work. When Elon Musk was 11 years old, he saw a computer for the first time in a shopping mall in Johannesburg. He insisted his father buy him that computer, but like every father in the world, when asked for a computer, they think he will play games on it all day. Elon's father also thought so and refused him. But brother, Elon is Elon. He somehow gathered some money and bought a Commodore 64, which was one of the earliest PCs in the world at that time, with his own savings. Now, as his father expected, Elon sat in front of this PC all day playing games like Galaxian and Alpha Blaster. But using this computer, Elon did something that his father never expected. With this computer, a coding course came for free, in which you could learn to code in a programming language called BASIC in just 60 hours. And Elon was so obsessed with coding that he worked day and night and completed this course in just three days. Besides this, Elon also passed the programming skill test at school, and he got so engrossed in coding that he even learned to write code in languages like Pascal and Turbo C++ on his own. Within just 2 years, this guy learned coding to such a level that he developed a video game called Blaster. And what's more, he even sold this game to PC & Office Technology magazine for $500. This was just a glimpse of how obsessed Elon is with his goals. In September 2000, Elon was a stakeholder in the company, but he had no active decision-making power. Now, what would a normal businessman do in this situation? Either he would start a new company or enjoy the money coming from his company. But Elon chose a third option instead of these two. Elon bought an airplane and applied for a pilot's license. Now, for those who don't know, to get a pilot's license, you have to fly a plane for 50 hours with a mandatory trainer. It takes people several months to complete this process. But again, due to his obsession with completing any task, this guy completed this 50-hour training in just three weeks. Even after this, Elon bought an Aero Vodochody L-39 Albatros, a fighter jet. SpaceX, Elon's company, is planning to colonize Mars today. But Elon says that he got this idea from reading a book when he was 10 years old, and this seemingly impossible thing later became the main goal of his life. He became so obsessed with this Mars mission since 2001 that Elon planned a mission called Mars Oasis, in which he was going to send a greenhouse to Mars, for which he would have to spend $3 million. And his purpose behind doing all this was just to make the US government serious about the idea of Mars colonization by seeing this. Not only this, but Elon also needed rockets for this Mars Oasis mission, for which he went to Russia in February 2002 and was ready to pay $18 million to buy just two expired rockets. But despite this, the deal could not be cracked. But when Elon was returning from Russia, he planned to build rockets himself on the flight and immediately started researching what materials are used in a rocket. Elon became so serious about this plan that within just one month, i.e., on March 14, 2002, he started his own company, SpaceX. Initially, in this company, he started building a mid-size rocket. Now, at that time, most components for making rockets were outsourced. And even when Elon roughly calculated the cost of carbon fiber, metal fuel, and other materials used in making rockets, he found that if he bought the raw materials himself and built a rocket, it would be 50 times cheaper than a ready-made rocket. So, here Elon decided that he would do as much in-house production as possible. For example, for a valve that controls liquid flow in a rocket, a supplier was demanding $500,000. So Elon said, "Forget it, we'll make it ourselves." Similarly, for an actuator, an actuator is basically used to maintain the rocket's direction, landing, and stability. So, for this actuator, a supplier was charging $120,000. To this, Elon said that making this is no more complicated than making a garage door opener. And he even ordered one of his engineers to make it for $55,000. Where $120,000 and where $55,000. Similarly, there was a supplier who supplied aluminum domes. These aluminum domes are installed on top of the rocket's fuel tank. That supplier also increased the price three times. So Elon said, "We'll make this ourselves too." By focusing on in-house production like this, SpaceX started making 70% of the rocket components in-house. Now, what is the normal human behavior? That is, if I want something, I want it. But this is such that if I want something, I want it, but I want it quickly and with top-notch quality. And due to this sense of urgency, he often threatens his employees with firing, and if Elon feels like it, he fires them on the spot. One such shocking incident of his is when SpaceX was working on its first rocket, Falcon 1. At the same time, work was also going on on a rocket engine called Merlin to be installed in this rocket. In a meeting, Elon told Tom Mueller, who was in charge of his engine design, that he wanted this engine ready in half the time scheduled. To this, Tom says...
You had already halved the time previously, now you cannot halve the time further. That is, Elon Musk was asking to prepare the engine in one-fourth of the initially decided time. But hearing Tom's reply, Elon became very angry and told Tom to meet him after the meeting. Now after the meeting, when Tom went to Elon's cabin, Elon told him that if you want to remain in charge of engine design, then you will give me whatever I ask for. That is, indirectly, he threatened to fire Tom. This was still okay, but once Elon crossed the limit. In 2006, when SpaceX was about to test its first rocket, Falcon 1, for the first time, even an hour before that, Elon Musk was thinking whether the order for aluminum alloy for the components of his future rocket had been placed or not. He immediately called an engineer named Chris Thompson, and when he found out that he had not yet placed the order, he got angry at him right there. From this, you can gauge his obsession with work. After 4 years of hard work, the first rocket of his company is about to launch. Its test has not even been successful yet, and at such a critical moment, this person is thinking whether the material orders for the next rocket have been placed or not. You must have heard from many people and read in many articles that Elon Musk is an alien who wants to go back to his home through a Mars mission. Let's understand this in a little detail. See, today, what is the end goal of all the businesses Elon Musk has, from where he is earning money? It is to colonize Mars. For this person, money is just a tool that can fulfill his Mars mission, nothing more than that. How obsessed and crazy he is about this mission, you will understand from this one incident. In 2002, when SpaceX started, from that very day, every week Elon Musk held a meeting in this company called Mass Colonizer. By the way, if you look at it, there is no relation between the current operations of SpaceX and this meeting. But still, every week Elon Musk conducts this meeting just to discuss what a Mars colony would be like and how it would be run. Interestingly, when Elon visualizes his Mars mission in this meeting, his mood automatically becomes fresh. That is, this person is so obsessed with something that may never come true. Well, leave this too. If you observe closely, Elon Musk goes to podcasts, meetings, outings, mostly everywhere wearing the same type of t-shirt. Forget about normal places, even when this person went to meet Donald Trump, he wore the same t-shirt. From all these actions of Elon, it is easily understood to what level this person is obsessed with his goals. But this is just one perspective. There are two more perspectives to this. If you see Elon's actions as an Elon admiring fanboy, then you might think, what a genius person Elon Musk is. But if you see Elon Musk from the perspective of his co-workers, then you will call him a psycho, not a genius. By the way, what are your thoughts on this? Tell us in the comments. Close your eyes for the next 10 seconds and imagine. Hearing the name Elon Musk, what comes to your mind first? A highly successful businessman who travels in luxury cars worth crores, lives in palatial bungalows, with hundreds of people around him, right? And of course, hearing the name Elon Musk, 99% of people will have these thoughts. But what if I say that the person under SpaceX today who talks about going to Mars, at one time used to be alone in his own house? Elon Musk, who increases people's IQ with Neuralink, was once himself in trauma. He was so introverted that he never made any friends in school. So, many people might not digest this, but let me tell you that Elon's childhood was very challenging. When Elon was just 3 years old, his mother admitted him to nursery. The principal had also warned her that if you admit him to school so early, it is possible that his vibes may not match with other children in the school, and he may face social challenges. "I wanted him to go to nursery school. They said, 'Well, he makes it back two days, but you really should keep him back.' Or because otherwise, he'll be a little socially challenged." Even the principal advised him to stay back for a year. And I said, "You don't understand. I have a genius son. He needs to talk to someone besides me." Every mother thinks the child is a genius. But Elon's mother refused to wait and got Elon admitted. Now, because Elon was the youngest in the class, he didn't get along with the other children, due to which he neither made any friends nor felt like going to school. Seeing Elon's behavior, the school authorities thought that perhaps he couldn't hear properly, so they literally conducted a hearing test for Elon. But fortunately, Elon's ears were perfectly fine. Let's put school aside for a moment, but the situation at Elon's home was even more dramatic. The situation at Elon's home was such that his father physically and verbally abused his mother every day. "My mother was in a lot of pain. She would cry a lot. And my father would be beating her. And I would be crying in the corner because they were really babies. They were. Elon was five, Kimbal four, and I was three. Elon would be hitting his dad at the back of his legs. And then when he was at we left further." "Have you had issues?" "Okay, well, so you didn't have a happy childhood?" "It was very violent." And when Elon was only eight years old, his parents had already divorced. After the divorce, for the first two years, Elon lived with his mother in Durban. But after 2 years, when Elon turned 10, he moved back to his father's place in Pretoria. Now, you will call him a psycho after knowing the reason why Elon left his mother and went to his father. What was the reason? I have discussed this in detail later in the video. For now, let's understand Elon's story step by step. So, back to our story. When Elon Musk returned to Pretoria with his father, his father admitted him to Pretoria Boys High School, which was one of the best and most expensive schools in South Africa at that time, and even today it is. But as I already mentioned, Elon Musk always remained alone and was socially awkward. Due to this one reason, a very terrible incident happened to him at this school in Pretoria. When Elon was 12 years old, all the children of his school were taken to a wilderness survival camp called Wild School. Now, normally, these survival camps are not held in India, but they are very common in Western countries. In this survival camp, fighting each other and bullying each other were all allowed. In this camp, most children stayed in their own groups, but because Elon had no friends and was also the smallest in the class, he was alone in this camp. And taking advantage of this, the older children in the class beat Elon twice, and he became so scared that he lost 45 kg of weight due to this incident. "I do know that you were bullied at school and had to pee yourself to death if you called..." And it wasn't that he was only mentally disturbed at school; even at home, Elon was in the same condition. See, everyone will agree that even if the whole world stands against you, your father should stand with you. But in Elon's case, it was the complete opposite. When Elon was going to Canada from South Africa for college in June 1989, his own father told him, "You are a loser, and you won't be able to last there for long." Just imagine, what impact would it have on a 17-year-old boy if his father used such language? Now, after getting out of all this, when Elon Musk reached Canada, a new problem started there: financial problems. Elon Musk, who used to roam around in his father's Ferrari, was now working in a lumber mill for some money, and this continued for the next year and a half. And only after that did he finally get admission to Queen's University. But somewhere, not making friends in school life, seeing the constant quarrels between parents at home since childhood, all these things directly impacted Elon's behavior. He would sit alone all day and just read books. I mean, he had read everything in the library in Durban, so he had the opportunity to actually read the whole encyclopedia. He had no interaction with anyone. Due to all this, his social skills did not develop much, and he was affected by Asperger's syndrome. But what is this Asperger's syndrome? Simple. "I don't care. Don't advertise. You don't want them to advertise. No zip to." In the office, he punched his own brother, due to which his brother bit Elon's hand so badly that he literally had to get stitches. His brother Kimbal himself says that he loves his brother very much, but working with him is very difficult. "He was holding his fist up. He was going to punch me in the face, and I had no... I had no... I didn't know he would exactly punch me in the face, but I... but I didn't know that. He was pretty, pretty fiery, and I had no defense. So the only defense I had was I grabbed his fist and I shoved it, and I tore a piece of skin off his fist. Yeah. So I had to go get stitches." Today, looking from the outside, it seems that Elon Musk catches the trends in the market and then builds his business around them. But let me tell you something very, very interesting. In childhood, Elon used to read science fiction all night, and fortunately, his father was also an engineer himself, so there was an environment at home regarding physics, etc., which automatically increased Elon Musk's interest in physics. Now, when he went to college, he ultimately continued his studies in physics, and during that time, Elon set his purpose and goals. And that was space, internet, and sustainable energy. And today, if you look at SpaceX, Starlink, and Tesla, all these companies are properly aligned with Elon's goal. In 1991, when Elon was studying at Queen's University, one day he went to a party. At that party, he saw a beautiful girl. Now guess what pickup line he used to impress the girl? "Have you ever thought about electric cars?" And this pickup line was used by this gentleman when electric cars were nowhere to be seen in the market. After seeing all these actions of Elon, it seems that this person is a psycho, but then it feels like, if we call him a psycho, then he is the richest person in the world, runs the top companies in the world, and is a minister in the government of the most powerful country in the world. So how can we call him a psycho? He is such a genius at the same time. That is why today people see Elon Musk's success, but no one sees what is hidden behind the mask of Musk. A few days ago, the US presidential elections happened, and Donald Trump became the President there. And for this, Elon Musk invested 50 million dollars from his own pocket in Donald Trump's campaign, and because of this, he became the largest donor for Donald Trump's party. Even during this election, there was a petition called the First and Second Amendment, for which Musk even offered a daily giveaway of $1 million, due to which he also faced legal charges for buying voters with money. Even in support of Trump, Elon Musk did not spare Taylor Swift, who has millions of fans worldwide. He tweeted, "I am a free speech absolutist." This tweet caused his followers to drop drastically. The US government started interfering a lot in his companies. "If he loses, man..." "Yeah." But did Elon Musk take this risk thoughtfully, or did he stand in support of Trump? I have talked about this in depth in Part 2. But for now, let's stick to this issue. Elon had one more big incident when he directly clashed with a very powerful person. See, this is George Soros. For those who don't know, let me tell you briefly that this person is so powerful that he has been given the title "The Man Who Broke the Bank of England." So, he has an organization called Open Society Foundation, in which he donated $18 billion from his personal wealth in 2018, which is around 1.5 lakh crore rupees. And his foundation operates in more than 120 countries, including India. And it is even alleged about him that this person has vowed to destroy India politically and economically, and for this, he legally funds many political parties in India. If you visit the website of his Open Society Foundation, you will see that they apparently work for human rights, justice, and equality. But surprisingly, Elon Musk once openly said that George Soros is against humanity itself. Saying such a big thing openly about such a powerful person is like hitting your own foot with an axe because a single statement can directly affect the businesses of a person like Elon Musk. Even in an interview, the interviewer asked Elon if it's possible that people who invest in your Teslas might not agree with your statement, so why did you make such a statement that could put you at a loss? To this, Elon Musk's answer was something like this: "Yeah, I think that's true that my opinion... Okay, but why share it? Why share it, especially?" I mean, when Elon went to Russia to buy rockets in February 2002, a mechanical engineer named Jim Cantrell accompanied him. But when the deal didn't happen there and Elon returned to America, he thought he would start his own aerospace company. Now, because it was a very risky job, Jim, as an employee, demanded many guarantees from Elon regarding job security. But Elon refused him and made himself the Chief Engineer of SpaceX. Also, when he was starting SpaceX, his friend Adio Rossi said that this is a very risky job. To which Elon replied, "At most, what will happen? I will lose all my money. But if I don't do this today, understanding the risk, then there will be no progress in space exploration, and we will remain on Earth forever." After this, in the same year, i.e., October 2002, most people take a calculated risk, but Elon Musk's work is something different. He doesn't do much calculation when taking risks; he directly jumps into it. Besides SpaceX, there wasn't much trend either. Also, Toyota was also afraid of making EVs because no one was buying them. Therefore, it was very difficult for an EV company to get funding in such a situation. Now, in February 2004, Tesla raises funds, and later in 2008, Elon tells the team that we have to postpone this launch again. But this time, Elon says that the weather is much better than before. Let's launch. After this, Falcon 9 was launched, and fortunately, the launch was successful. But think about it, if this launch had failed, what a big risk it would have been. And it's not like Elon had a deadline to launch Falcon 9 or was in a big hurry. He could have easily launched it a day or two later. But the risk-taking trait within this person is truly crazy. Elon has a friend named Peter Thiel, who says that Elon is very, very crazy. And if I put it in mathematical language, Musk is directly proportional to [music] risk. Just as hearing the name Bear Grylls from Man vs. Wild brings to mind dense forests, ferocious animals, and insects, similarly, hearing the name Elon Musk brings to mind machines, robots, rockets – things oriented towards physics, such that if a show were to be made about Elon in the future, its name might be Man vs. Machine. When Elon was very young, he loved playing with toy rockets and explosives. Later, when he grew a little older and started going to school, he began reading science fiction, which further deepened his interest in rockets. Now, because Elon had no friends, he spent most of his time alone and conducted various experiments in his free time. For example, once Elon mixed brake fluid and chlorine used in swimming pools and caused an explosion. Now, I said at the beginning of the video that Elon's father physically abused his mother. So, after that divorce, Elon moved to Durban with his mother for 2 years, and his father lived in Pretoria. But after 2 years, Elon returned to his father's place in Pretoria, just because his father was an electromechanical engineer, and therefore, there were many engineering tools lying around in their house. So from here, you can imagine how crazy Elon must have been about machines. Elon's father had many luxury cars. "I had a lot of nice cars during Elon's youth." He used to explore everything, from fan belts to everything. Now, since we are talking about cars, listen to this story of Elon Musk as well. When Elon Musk was in college, he had a 20-year-old BMW 330i. Now, this car had four gears, but Elon wanted it to have five gears. So, what did this guy do? He took his younger brother Kimbal, went to a junkyard, collected various parts from there, then both brothers went to a mechanic, and with some tools from there, they themselves modified that four-gear car into a five-gear one. There is another similar incident. In 1994, Elon Musk and his younger brother were going somewhere when their car kept breaking down on the way. They got the car repaired by a roadside mechanic, but still, the car kept stopping. So finally, Elon and Kimbal pushed the car themselves to a truck stop, and there, Elon himself took the entire engine apart and reassembled it. Along with hardware, Elon also learned coding from childhood. When he was just 13 years old, he designed a game called Blaster. And somewhere, this curiosity, this knowledge of Elon's, was going to change his entire life. When Elon first went to Canada, he faced a lot of financial problems, and as I mentioned earlier, initially, to earn money, he worked in a lumber mill for $18 per hour. But after that, with the help of the coding he learned in childhood, he got a job at Microsoft.com. He built it. This person was so crazy about machines that without studying aerospace or having any degree, he risked millions of dollars and created a company like SpaceX, and even became its Chief Engineer. You can ask him anything about rockets: which part is made of which metal, how it is made, why this particular metal was used. He has the answer to every rocket-related question, and that too without any formal degree. In February 2005, he started coming to Tesla's headquarters, and Tesla's... He has spent his life in luxury cars like the Model S and Model X, so he had in-depth knowledge about cars. That's why he hasn't pursued any formal education, but as I mentioned, he has spent his childhood in one luxury car after another, so he can easily identify... He was having trouble identifying. So he said, make the car door a little bigger. He told the engineer, "If you're going on a date, how will a lady get inside?" Therefore, lower the lower part of its door by 3 inches. Besides this, he asked to widen the car seat a bit to make it comfortable. Where fiberglass was being used, he asked to use carbon fiber instead, which is stronger and lighter. And moreover, Elon also made changes to the car's dashboard. Due to these changes suggested by Elon, the company incurred an additional cost of $2 million, but Elon didn't care about it; he just wanted to make the car top-notch. Even the changes Elon suggested just to improve the car's headlights increased the company's R&D cost by $1 million. Here is another incident of Elon. In December 2003, during a test in SpaceX, a crack appeared in the heat-diffusing material in the engine's thrust chamber. So Elon said, "Find a way to repair it; we can't throw it away." So when Tom Mueller, the head of the engine department, said there was no way to fix it, Elon told him, "Put all these thrust chambers in my private jet and bring them to the SpaceX factory in Los Angeles." A few hours later, Mueller arrived at the factory with his team and those chambers. A little later, Elon also arrived there, even though he was already supposed to go to a Christmas party. But just to fix the chamber, he canceled that party. Elon tried to fix the chamber using an industrial glue, to which Mueller had already told him that it wouldn't work, and it truly didn't work. Elon tried to fix the chamber all night, but it couldn't be fixed, and because of that, his launch schedule was delayed by four months. Now, see, it's not necessary that every time you try, it works. Sometimes it doesn't. But all these incidents show how attached Elon is to machines. In Part 1 of this documentary, we have discussed these five chapters so far. In these five chapters, we have in-depth studied every aspect, from Elon Musk's "Behind the Mask" to his obsession with work, his attachment to machines, his weirdness, and his risk-taking behavior. From this, we got to know, actually, we are still confused whether this person is truly a genius or a bit of a psycho, because the way he behaves, the way he handles situations, the way he sometimes reacts, it's a mix of both: a genius and a psycho. Now, let's come to the most important part of this documentary. See, as I said at the beginning of this documentary, there is so much information about Elon Musk on the internet, and all of it is so interesting that compiling that information into a single documentary video is very difficult. That's why I have divided this documentary into two parts. Now, this Part 1 was just an overview of Elon Musk's life, or you could say a trailer. The whole movie will be in Part 2. Because in this Part 1, we have mostly explored his personal life. We haven't reached his professional life in depth yet. Now, in Part 2, some very interesting aspects of Elon Musk's life will be covered, like what is the hidden agenda of Elon Musk's Starlink and Neuralink? Can Elon Musk become the next President of America? Is he planning for that? Will Elon Musk's humanoid robots replace human labor? Many such interesting things have been covered in Part 2. And yes, making such videos takes a lot of hard work. Literally, day and night are spent. So, share it as much as possible with all your business-minded friends. If you liked the video, like it, otherwise, feel free to dislike it. And what is your answer between psycho and genius? Tell us in the comments.
